Polished Pantone SS19 deel 3

Twee weken geleden schreef ik mijn vorige post over Polished Pantone SS19, de challenge die Julia @juliabrenchley en ik organiseren op instagram. Het is weer tijd voor een overzicht van de swatches van de kleuren van deze periode. Voor de kalender en planning zie mijn eerste post.

It’s been two weeks since I wrote on the blog about the Polished Pantone SS19 challenge that Julia @juliabrenchley and I are hosting on instagram. In this post I’ll walk you through all the swatches of the colours of this period. For the calendar and all the dates, see my first post.

Pantone Terrarium Moss

Als eerste was Pantone Terrarium Moss aan de beurt, een groene tint. Ik koos hiervoor Wikkid Polish Forest. Ik laat hier twee laagjes zien met top coat, maar deze lak dekt al bijna in één laag. Ik heb deze nagellak ook gebruikt voor mijn St. Patrick’s Day nail art.

First up is Pantone Terrarium Moss, a foliage green shade. I chose Wikkid Polish Forest. I’m showing two coats with top coat, but this polish is almost covering in one coat. I also used this polish for my St. Patrick’s Day nail art.

Pantone Sweet Lilac

Voor Pantone Sweet Lilac koos ik Essie Baguette me not. Ik laat hier twee laagjes zien met top coat. Voor mijn paas nail art gebruikte Essie Moments to Mrs., deze nagellak is ook een goede match.

For Pantone Sweet Lilac I chose Essie Baguette me not. Here I’m wearing two coats with top coat. I used Essie Moments to Mrs. for my Easter mani, that’s also a really good match.

Pantone Soybean

Hierna kwam Pantone Soybean, dit is een van de neutrale seizoenskleuren. Ik koos hierbij DanceLegend Beige, een stempellak. Ik draag hier 1 laagje met topcoat. Mijn verrassing was groot toen ik de kwast zag na het opendraaien. Het is een klein flesje, maar erin zit een hele brede vierkante kwast. Voor mijn pink heb ik gelakt met de smalle kant van de kwast.

Now it’s Pantone Soybean’s turn, this is one of this season’s neutrals. I chose for DanceLegend Beige, a stamping polish. I’m wearing one coat with top coat. It was a big surprise when I saw the brush for the first time. It’s a small bottle, but is contains a very large peddle brush. To polish my little finger I used the small side of the brush.

Pantone Eclipse

Als laatste was Pantone Eclipse, een andere neutrale kleur van dit seizoen. Dit is een hele donkere nachtblauw. Ik koos hierbij voor Rimmel London 902 Moonlight Magic. Ik draag hier twee laagjes met top coat. Deze nagellak heeft een bijna zwarte basis met blauwe shimmer.

The final colour is Pantone Eclipse, another neutral shade of this season. It’s a very deep midnight blue. I matched it to Rimmel London 902 Moonlight Magic. I’m showing you two coats with top coat. This polish has an almost black base with blue shimmer.

Het laatste onderdeel van deze ronde is de nail art met bovenbeschreven kleuren. Ik heb mijn nagels gelakt met twee laagjes Essie Baguette me not. Vervolgens heb ik op mijn duim, wijvinger en pink wat blauw gesponsd en op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger wat groen. Over mijn gesponsde delen stempelde ik een deel van een mandala patroon.

The final part of this period of the challenge is a nail art with all the colours above. I painted my nails with two coats of Essie Baguette me not. After that I sponged blue on my thumb, index finger and little finger and green on my middle finger and ring finger. Finally I stamped half of a mandala motive over the sponged colours.

Koningsdag 2019

We gaan zometeen weer naar de kermis en vrijmarkt, net als vorig jaar! Want het is weer Koningsdag!

Today is King’s Day! I do a quick post of my nails, because in a moment we are going to the flea market and fair, just like last year!

Nail art voor Koningsdag 2019, King's Day nail art with essence 96 orange to go

Net als vorig jaar heb ik ook dit jaar gewerkt met de kleuren oranje, rood, wit en blauw. Ik heb deze keer iets andere technieken gebruikt door te sponzen en met stift te werken. Ik heb eerst een oranje basis gelakt met twee laagjes essence the gel polish 96 orange to go. Daarover heb ik een marmerpatroon gesponst met essence 117 pumpkin spice. Op mijn middelvinger heb ik met wit een kroon gestempeld. Met stift heb ik de ene zijde rood gemaakt en de andere blauw.

Just like last year I worked with the colour scheme of orange, red, white and blue. I did work with different techniques though, I sponged a marble over the orange base and coloured a part of the crown blue and red with alcohol based markers.

Dit heb ik gebruikt: essence the gel polish 117 pumpkin spice en essence the gel polish 96 orange to go, BornPretty stempelplaat BPL-104, witte stempellak, rode en blauwe stiften.

Music mani collab

Ik heb deze maand ook meegedaan aan de Music mani collaboration. Het thema was een nail art te maken bij een liedje “songs you can jam out to” oftewel liedjes die je gewoon hardop mee moet zingen. Ik koos voor een ouder liedje. Met de kinderen luisteren we veel naar de Efteling Kids Radio app, maar die voelen niet echt van mij. Ook al kan ik de Drakendans van de Sprookjesboom hardop woord voor woord meezingen 😂

This month I joined the Music mani collab. The theme was “songs you can jam out to”. I chose an older song. With the kids we listen a lot to the Efteling Kids Radio app, but those aren’t really my songs. Although I know all the words to “De Drakendans” (the dragon dance song) 😂 So I chose Drops of Jupiter by Train and let my nail art be inspired by the opening lyrics.

Maar dan nu het lied: ik heb gekozen voor Drops of Jupiter van Train. Ik heb mij laten inspireren door de lyrics van de opening:

Ik koos voor een blauwe basis vanwege de naam midnight sky (essence) en stempelde sterren op mijn wijsvinger, deed wat reverse stamping voor de bloemen op mijn wijsvinger, regendruppels op mijn ringvinger en een muzieksleutel op mijn pink. Dat laatste als hint dat het niet zomaar wat afbeeldingen waren die bij elkaar waren gedaan.

I chose a blue base with the name midnight sky (essence) and stamped stars on my index finger. I did some reverse stamping flowers on my middel finger. On my ring finger I stamped rain drops and I chose essence tip top taupe as base colour and China Glaze pearl jamming layered on top. The final hint that these images were not random put together is on my little finger with a treble clef.

Vrolijk Pasen!

Vrolijk Pasen allemaal! Dit is mijn nail art voor Pasen. Ik heb gekozen voor Essie Moments to Mrs. en Essie Zip me up, allebei van de Gel Couture lijn.

Happy Easter everyone! Here’s my Easter nail art. I chose Essie Moments to Mrs. and Essie Zip me up, both from the Gel Couture line.

Ik heb drie laagjes Essie Moments to Mrs. (paars-roze pastel) aangebracht op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink. Ik heb twee laagjes Essie Zip me up (lichtgroen) aangebracht op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger. Op beide stempelde ik een bloemige ei-vorm van de Dashica Infinity Nail paas stempelplaat.

I’m wearing three coats of Essie Moments to Mrs. (orchid pink pastel) on my thumb, index finger and little finger. I’m wearing two coats of Essie Zip me up (light minty green) on my middle finger and ring finger. On both the light green nail I stamped an egg shaped floral something of the Dashica Infinity Nails Easter stamping plate.

Laten we nog eens kijken naar Essie Moments to Mrs met deze duim foto. Het is een vrij transparante lak met flakies. Ik gebruik hem meestal als topper, maar in drie laagjes is het ook een hele mooie lak.

Let’s have another look at Essie Moments to Mrs. with this thumb swatch. It’s a rather sheer polish with flakies. I use it mostly as topper, but in three coats it’s also really pretty.

Bruin en zilver

Deze keer bij When Colours Collide was het de kleuren Bruin en Zilver. En zal ik je wat verklappen, ik was verbaasd hoe leuk ik deze kleuren combinatie vond.

This time When Colours Collide was Brown and Silver. And I’ll let you in on a little secret: I really liked this colour combo!

Ik heb mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink bruin gelakt met L’Oreal L’Atelier Choco en daarover subtiel wat vlekken gesponst met Etos Brunette. Op mijn duim heb ik er het bolletjes patroon op gestempeld en op mijn wijsvinger en pink de golvende lijn. Op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger heb ik 1 laagje Il etait un vernis 50% sparkly, 50% fairy dust gedaan en daarover op beide nagels het bolletjes patroon gedaan.

I painted my thumb, index finger and little finger dark brown with L’Oreal L’Atelier Choco and I subtly sponged some marble spots with Etos Brunette. On my thumb I stamped the lined pattern with the spheres and on my index finger and little finger the wavy lines. On my middle finger and ring finger I painted 1 coat of Il etait un vernis 50% sparkly, 50% fairy dust and stamped on both nails the lined pattern with spheres.

Bloemenhaarspeld voor bij de paasjurk

Dochter is hard gegroeid en was toe aan een nieuwe nette jurk voor Pasen. En bij een nieuwe nette jurk hoort uiteraard ook een nieuwe bloemenclip. Nu vond ik nog een restje stof dat qua kleur goed paste. Maar daarna had ik alleen wat snippers over, dus ik heb geen overzicht foto van de gebruikte materialen.

Daughter grew a lot and needed a new dress for Easter. And with a new dress, comes a new flower hair bow. I found some fabric that matched colour wise with the dress, but I could only just finish the flower. I had nothing left to show you in a picture.

Ik heb voor deze bloem de Clover Kanzashi Flower Maker in het model Daisy Petal Large size gebruikt. Samen met een grote parel in het midden en een alligator clip is het een mooie haarspeld geworden.

For the flower I used the Clover Kanzashi Flower Maker in Daisy Petal Large size. Together with a large pearl flatback and an alligator clip it was a pretty floral hair bow.

En hier is de haarspeld op haar nieuwe nette jurk. Het is een jurk met een bloemenpatroon, bolero en bijpassend riempje.

Here is the floral hair bow on the new Easter dress. The dress came with a bolero jacket and matching belt.

Wat zijn jullie plannen voor Pasen? Wij gaan met zijn allen brunchen bij opa en oma en ik kijk er naar uit om mijn neefje en nichtje te zien!

Do you have plans for Easter? We will have a family brunch at Grandparents’ house. I’m looking forward to see my nephew and little niece.

Polished Pantone SS19 deel 2

Pantone Aspen Gold

Als eerste was Aspen Gold aan de beurt, een goudgele tint. Ik heb hiervoor Hema long lasting nail polish 302 Sunny Flowers gekozen. Ik laat hier twee laagjes zien met topcoat. De beste match die ik had, was als ik over Hema Sunny Flowers nog 1 laagje Catrice Don’t Judge A Nail By Its Color deed. Dit heb ik als basis gebruikt voor mijn nail art voor #SummerFriendsnFoes.

First up was Aspen Gold, a golden yellow. I chose Hema long lasting nail polish 302 Sunny Flowers. I’m showing two coats with top coat. The best match was made with adding a layer of Catrice Don’t Judge A Nail By Its Color over two coats of Hema Sunny Flowers. I used that as a base for my nail art for #SummerFriendsnFoes.

Pantone Princess Blue

Voor Pantone Princess Blue koos ik Catrice 61 Me, Myself And My Polish. Deze blauwe nagellak heeft een vreemd luchtje, zoals wel vaker gebeurd met blauwe nagellak. Ik draag hier twee laagjes met topcoat. Ik heb deze nagellak al eens eerder gebruikt voor een foil nail art.

For Pantone Princess Blue I chose Catrice 61 Me, Myself And My Polish. This blue polish has a weird smell, that happens more with blue nail polish. I’m showing you two coats with top coat. I used this nail polish before for a foil nail art.

Pantone Toffee

Hierna kwam Pantone Toffee. Deze warme bruine tint had ik niet helemaal matchend. Mijn beste optie was Etos nail polish Brunette. Ik laat hier twee laagjes zien met top coat.

Now it’s Toffee’s turn. This is a rich medium brown. I didn’t have a really good match. My best option was Etos nail polish Brunette. I’m showing two coats with top coat.

Pantone Mango Mojito

Als laatste was Pantone Mango Mojito, een diepere goudgele tint. Hiervoor had ik niks in mijn collectie. De beste match die ik online vond was Saucey van Twinkled T. En waar ik geen match had en wat moest kopen, koos ik dan de stempellak, omdat ik daar vrij weinig nog van heb. Ik heb uit gewoonte twee laagjes aangebracht, want de eerste laag was eigenlijk al dekkend. Ik heb ook top coat gebruikt.

The final colour is Pantone Mango Mojito, a deeper golden yellow. I didn’t have a match in my collection. And when I had to buy something and could chose it, I went with the stamping polish. This is Twinkled T stamping polish Saucey. Out of habit I painted two coats, but the first coat was already opaque. I also used top coat.

Het laatste onderdeel van deze challenge ronde is de nail art met alle bovenstaande kleuren. Ik heb een reverse stamping nail art gemaakt. Alleen toen ik net klaar was, stootte ik mijn middelvinger. Ik heb toen besloten om het toch niet opnieuw te doen. Soms heb je pech en dat mag ook gezien worden.

The final part of this period of the challenge is a nail art with all the colours above. I made a reverse stamping nail art. When I had just finished my nails I bumped my middle finger into something. I decided to not start over. Sometimes you’ve bad luck and we shouldn’t hide that.

Catrice I Have A Blush On You

Deze nail art had ik al een tijdje geleden gedragen, maar ik heb eindelijk een plekje gevonden in mijn schema om het te laten zien. Dat krijg je als je besluit een Pantone challenge te doen en daarmee je hele schema in de war gooit 😁

I wore this nail art some time ago, but I’ve finally found a slot in my blog schedule to show it to you. That’s wat happens when you decide to do a Pantone challenge and mess up the original planning. 😁

Spring nail art with Catrice 73 I Have A Blush On You

Ik vind de kleur van I Have A Blush On You erg mooi en het was gemakkelijk aangebracht in twee laagjes. Ik heb het gecombineerd met Catrice Why The Shell Not?!, een beige parelmoer lak die ook zomaar in mijn mandje was beland. 😉 Ik heb erover heen gestempeld met I Have A Blush On You, maar zoals je ziet is het net niet genoeg gepigmenteerd om mee te stempelen. De foto is wat donker uitgevallen, in het echt was alles dus wat lichter (de nagellak en dus ook de stempel).

I like the colour of I Have A Blush On you a lot and the polish was an easy two coats. I chose Catrice Why The Shell Not?!, a beige pearly polish, as my accent. That polish had simultaneously jumped into my cart with I Have A Blush On You 😉 I also stamped with I Have A Blush, but as you can see it lacks a bit in pigmentation. The picture came out a little too dark, in reality the stamp was lighter (and the polish too).

Lente nagels met een narcisje

Inmiddels zijn de narcissen buiten al over een eerste bloei heen. Ik vind het altijd een heel fijn gezicht als na de winter al het geel van de narcissen de wereld opfleurt. Want die kale, dorre wereld kan wel wat kleur gebruiken. Vorig jaar stempelde ik wat blauwe druifjes op mijn nagels om te vieren dat de lente weer kleur terugbracht aan de wereld.

Outside the daffodils are past their main bloom now. It’s always reassuring when the bright yellow daffodils bring back colour in the world after the dull and seemingly lifeless winter. Last year I stamped muscari on my nails to celebrate the return of colour with the start of spring.

Ik heb mijn nagels gelakt met OPI One Heckla of a Color!, behalve mijn ringvinger die kreeg A England A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Op mijn accentnagels stempelde ik het narcisje in wit, en daarna stempelde ik het deels in geel en groen erover.

I painted my nail with OPI One Heckla of a Color!, except for my ring finger. I painted that one with A England A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Over it I stamped first in white and then in green and yellow the little daffodil.

Dit heb ik allemaal gebruikt: witte stempel lak, OPI One Heckla of a Color!, A England A Midsummer’s Night Dream, Twinkled T stamping polish Saucey, Hit the bottle stempellak Cactus Juice en Dashica stempelplaat SdP-63.

Het is alweer tijd voor de nieuwe When Colours Collide! Deze keer mochten we alleen maar de kleur blauw gebruiken. Ik heb mij laten inspireren door Portugese tegels. Alleen, toen ik mijn zoekopdracht bij Google herhaalde, kon ik de juiste foto niet meer terug vinden. Daarom laat ik alleen mijn nail art zien, maar niet de inspiratiefoto.

It’s time for a new When Colours Collide! This time the prompt was to use blue only. I was inspired by a picture of Portuguese tiles. But… when I repeated my search term on Google, it did not show the same pictures with the top results. So I’m showing you just my nail art without the inspiration picture.

Ik heb verschillende kleuren blauwe nagellak gebruikt van licht naar donker en over de middelste drie vingers een patroon gestempeld. Helaas bleek mijn op-een-na donkerste blauw al wat te donker ten opzichte van mijn stempellak. Hierdoor is het patroon daar niet zo zichtbaar.

I chose different shades of blue and used them from the lightest to the darkest. Over the middle three shades I stamped a tile pattern. Sadly my second darkest shade was already a bit too dark to contrast with the stamping polish, so the pattern is less visible on that nail.
