Polishes I wore in February 2026

Februari startte nog met winterweer. Het is ook de maand van Valentijn. Verder was het een korte en rustige maand. Dus veel kan ik er niet over vertellen. Alle manicures zijn gedragen met base coat en top coat, tenzij anders vermeld.

February started really wintery. It’s also the month of Valentine’s. On the whole it was a short and calm month. So I don’t have much to tell. All manicures are worn with base coat and top coat, unless otherwise stated.

Catrice Glow in the dark 020 All Nighter

Vanwege het winterweer, wilde ik weer een witte manicure dragen. Als basis gebruikte ik een laagje witte base coat. Daarna bracht ik twee laagjes All nighter. Deze Glow in the dark “top coat” is erg dekkend. Wat mij positief verraste is dat deze nagellak echt een groene glow heeft. Maar ik kreeg dat niet gefotografeerd.

Because of the winter weather, I wanted to wear another white manicure. As base I used a layer of white base coat. Then I added two coats of All nighter. I didn’t expect much of this Glow in the dark “top coat”. Because drug store glow in the dark polishes often don’t work. I was pleasantly surprised that this polish did glow green. But I was not able to capture it with my camera.

Masura Jellyfish

Daarna koos ik voor een blauwe winterse manicure. Ik koos voor Masura Jellyfish. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Deze blauwe nagellak met UCC flakes and holographic flakes is heel mooi in de zon. Maar in the schaduw zijn het de UCC flakes en de roze shimmer die eruit springen.

Next I wore a blue wintery manicure. I picked Masura Jellyfish. I wore it in three coats. This blue nail polish with UCC flakes and holographic flakes is very pretty in the sun. In the shade it’s the flakes and the pink shimmer that steal the show.

Essie Bordeaux

Deze Essie classic wilde ik rond Valentijnsdag dragen. Dus hier is Essie Bordeaux. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Het was noodzakelijk om zoveel laagjes aan te brengen, want toen kreeg ik pas een gelijkmatige dekking te krijgen.

I wanted to wear this Essie classic around Valentine’s Day. So here is Essie Bordeaux. I needed to wear it in three coats. I needed this many coats to get an even coverage.

OPI Suzi & the arctic fox

Dit was een voorzichtige poging tot een anti-Valentijns manicure. Maar het was eigenlijk een hele mooi resultaat. Ik draag twee laagjes van OPI Suzi & the arctic fox. Als accent stempelde ik een afbeelding van Dashica stempelplaat SdP-120 in zilver.

This was a first careful try in an anti-Valentine’s manicure. But I really liked the result. I’m wearing two coats of OPI Suzi & the arctic fox. As accent I stamped an image from stamping plate Dashica SdP-120 with a silver polish.

OPI My wish list is you with topper

OPI My Wish List Is You topped with Revlon 901 Hearts of Gold FX

In de dagen in aanloop naar Valentijnsdag droeg ik OPI My wish list is you in drie laagjes. Dit is een vrolijke en heldere rode jelly nagellak. Erover bracht ik een laagje Revlon Hearts of Gold FX aan. Dat gaf eigenlijk alleen maar gouden glittertjes. De hartjes moest ik uit het potje vissen en heb ik met een dotting tool geplaatst.

In the days leading up to Valentine’s Day I wore OPI My wish list is you in three coats. This is a bright and happy red jelly polish. On top I added one layer of Revlon Hearts of Gold FX. This resulted only in a layer of small golden glitters. I had to fish for the hearts and I placed them on the nail with a dotting tool.

Nu zijn we aangekomen bij mijn manicure voor Valentijnsdag. Ik startte met twee laagjes Catrice Gel Affair 019 Vive l’Amour op al mijn vingers behalve mijn ringvinger. Op mijn ringvinger bracht ik een laagje Catrice ICONails 81 Metal speaks louder than words aan. Vervolgens bracht ik op de rode nagels een dun laagje aan van de topper Dam nail polish Go Fish. Op de zilveren accent nagel bracht ik twee dikke lagen aan van de topper Dam Go Fish. Dat gaf fantastische sparkels in de zon! De afbeelding van de hartjes komt van stempelplaat BM XL201. Die heb ik in rood en zilver aangebracht op duim, middelvinger en ringvinger.

Here is my manicure that I wore for Valentine’s Day. I started the manicure with two coats of Catrice Gel Affair 019 Vive l’Amoer on all my fingers except the ring finger. On my ring finger nail I wore one coat of Catrice ICONails 81 Metal speaks louder than words. Next I added a thin layer of the topper Dam nail polish Go Fish on all the red nails. On the silver accent nail I added two thick coats. That was very sparkling in the sun! The heart image is from stamping plate BM XL201. I added that image in in red and silver on thumb, middle finger and ring finger.

Na alle Valentijns nagellaken, had ik behoefte aan een winterkleurtje. Ik koos voor Dam nail polish Say Freeze. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Ik vind de shimmer in deze nagellak echt prachtig.

After all these Valentine’s nail polishes, I wanted to wear a winter colour. I chose Dam nail polish Say Freeze. I wear it in three coats. I really love the shimmer in this polish.

Toen ik behoefte had aan een neutrale manicure koos ik mijn project nagellak van dit jaar: Masura Jasmine honey. Het leek mij een leuk idee het te combineren met mijn project nagellak van vorige jaar. Dus hier draag ik drie laagjes Jasmine honey met een laagje China Glaze Fairy dust.

When I felt the urge to wear a neutral manicure, I picked my project polish for this year: Masura Jasmine honey. I thought it would be funny to combine it with my project polish of last year. So here I am wearing three coats of Jasmine honey and one coat of China Glaze Fairy dust.

Catrice Bold Magnetic 020 Don’t be so clingy

Ik wilde weer een keertje experimenteren of spelen met mijn nieuwe U vormige magneet. Deze keer wilde ik het proberen met Catrice Bold Magnetic 020 Don’t be so clingy. Ik heb het in twee laagjes aangebracht. Het velvet effect lukte prima, maar door het kleine contrast tussen de basiskleur en het magnetische pigment ga ik het niet nog een keer doen.

I wanted to experiment of play again with my U shaped magnet. This time I wanted to try it on Catrice Bold Magnetic 020 Don’t be so clingy. I wore it in two coats. The velvet effect was very successful, but since this polish has little contrast between the base colour and the colour of the magnetic pigment, I wouldn’t do it again.

Weer een neutrale nagellak. Hier draag ik Essie Gel Couture Last nightie in drie laagjes. De fijne gouden flecks zijn nog steeds zichtbaar op de nagel. Dat wist ik van te voren niet helemaal zeker. Dus het is toch neutraal met iets extra’s.

Another neutral manicure. Here I wear Essie Gel Couture Last nightie in three coats. The small golden flecks are visible on the nail. I wasn’t sure about that before applying. This is truly a neutral with something extra.

Essie Master plan

Als laatste manicure van de maand droeg ik Essie Master plan in twee laagjes. Deze manicure paste goed bij het bewolkte weer. Hopelijk breekt de lentezon snel door!

My final manicure of this month was Essie Master plan in three coats. This manicure was fitting with the overcast weather. I hope for sunny spring weather starting soon.

Polishes I wore in January 2026

Het jaar startte met sneeuw en kou en ook al dooide na een week de sneeuw weg, het bleef een koude wintermaand tot het eind. Die winterkou maakte mijn korte nagels kwetsbaar en brokkelig en mijn handen en nagelriemen erg droog. Ik had deze maand veel handcrème en nagelriemolie nodig. Ik draag elke manicure met base coat en top coat.

This year started with snow and cold and even after the snow thawed away it stayed cold until the end of the month. The winter cold made my (short) nails vulnerable to breakage and my hands and cuticles very dry. I needed lots of hand cream and nail oil this month. I’m wearing each manicure with base coat and top coat.

Pantone colour of the year: Cloud Dancer

Traditioneel start ik het jaar met een manicure met de Pantone kleur van het jaar. Dit jaar is het een witte tint met de naam Cloud Dancer. Deze keuze kreeg veel tegenreactie, zoveel dat zelfs ik het meekreeg. Terwijl ik nog maar weinig met social media doe. Dus mijn tweede manicure is met de andere kleuren die voor dit jaar genoemd worden.

Traditionally I start the year with the Pantone colour of the year. This year’s colour is a shade of white with the name Cloud Dancer. This choice faced a lot of backlash online. Even I heard about it, even though I’m very little on social media. So with my second manicure I looked at the other colours that are suggested.

Met alle sneeuw buiten koos ik Masura Scattering of opals voor Pantone Cloud Dancer. Dit is een witte nagellak met opal flakes en wat holografisch pigment. Hierdoor is er toch wat kleur in deze witte nagellak. Ik draag het in vier laagjes, want het is erg transparant.

With all the snow I picked Masura Scattering of opals as my choice for Pantone Cloud Dancer. This is a white polish with opal flakes and a little holographic pigment. This brings a little colour to this white nail polish. I wear it in four coats, because it’s very sheer.

Other colours chosen for 2026

Ikea Rebel Pink
Phthalo Green
Ikea Rebel Pink

Zoals gezegd kwam de keuze voor Cloud Dancer met best een sterke tegenreactie. Het internet koos voor Phthalo Green, een intensieve blauwgroene tint. Ikea koos als eigen jaarkleur Rebel Pink. Dit is een lieve roze tint die je zowel als neutral of als extra accent kleur in je inrichting kan gebruiken.

Like I said before, the choice of Pantone for Cloud Dancer came with a lot of online backlash. The internet choice for Phthalo Green, an intense shade of blueish green. Ikea chose Rebel Pink as their colour of the year. This is a sweet shade of pink that can be used as a neutral or as a splash of colour in your interior design.

Mijn tweede manicure van het jaar werd dus een skittle manicure met Cloud Dancer, Rebel Pink en Phthalo Green. Ik koos deze nagellakken: Hema Flamboyant flamingo (Ikea Rebel Pink), Catrice ICONails 158 Deeply in green (Phthalo Green) and Catrice Brave metallics 02 Sweet as sugar (Cloud Dancer). Ik bracht alles in twee laagjes aan.

My second manicure of the year became this skittle manicure with Cloud Dancer, Rebel Pink and Phthalo Green. Ik picked these nail polishes: Hema Flamboyant flamingo (Ikea Rebel Pink), Catrice ICONails 158 Deeply in green (Phthalo Green) and Catrice Brave metallics 02 Sweet as sugar (Cloud Dancer). I wore them all in two coats.

Mijn derde manicure is een tweede optie voor Ikea Rebel Pink. Online vond ik meerdere foto’s, maar sommige waren lichter roze en sommige waren wat dieper roze. Dus dit is mijn lichtere optie. Dit is Essie Gel Couture Haute to trot in twee laagjes.

My third manicure is another option for Ike Rebel Pink. Online I found multiple pictures where some where lighter shades of pink and some a little deeper. This is my lighter shade of Rebel Pink. I’m wearing Essie Gel Couture Haute to trot in two coats.

Winter manicure

Met kerst kreeg ik een hoefijzer magneet cadeau, zodat ik mijn magneet nagellakken kan dragen in de “velvet effect”. Die wilde ik graag uitproberen, dus toen ik de jaarkleuren bekeken had, ging ik met mijn nieuwe magneet experimenteren. Ik draag Dam Every day I’m shoveling in drie laagjes. En als accentnagel draag ik twee laagjes Catrice ICONails 81 Metal speaks louder than words en afbeelding gestempeld in lichtblauw van stempelplaat BornPretty BP-01. Ik was erg trots op het resultaat met mijn nieuwe magneet. Ik ga dit vaker doen.

At Christmas I received a horseshoe magnet as a gift, so I could start wearing my magnetic nail polishes in the velvet style. I really wanted to play with my new magnet, so after looking at the new colours for this year I chose a magnetic polish. I’m wearing Dam Every day I’m shoveling in three coats. As accent nail I wore two coats of Catrice ICONails 81 Metal speaks louder than words. On top I added an image with light blue stamping polish from stamping plate BornPretty BP-01. I was very happy with the result with my new magnet. I want to try this more with other magnetic nail polishes.

Na al deze geïnspireerde manicures, was het nu tijd voor een rustige wintermanicure. Ik draag Essie Serene slate in twee laagjes.

After all these inspired manicures, I chose to wear a calm winter manicure. This is Essie Serene slate in two coats.

Garnet birthstone manicure

De geboortesteen van de maand januari is granaat. Daarvoor creëerde ik deze combinatie. Ik startte met twee laagjes Catrice Gel Affair 043 Cranberry jam. Daarna bracht ik nog twee laagjes Almandine Garnet aan. Deze nagellak is van de Zodiac set, een samenwerking van Dany Vianna, Vanessa Molina en Whatcha.

The birth stone for January is garnet. I used this combination for a beautiful garnet effect. I started with two coats Catrice Gel Affair 043 Cranberry jam. Then I added two coats of Almandine Garnet. This nail polish is from the Zodiac set, a collaboration between by Dany Vianna, by Vanessa Molina and Whatcha.

Nadat ik een combinatie van twee nagellakken had gedragen, was ik geïnspireerd om dat nog een keer te doen. Deze keer koos ik voor Essie After school boy blazer (twee laagjes) en KBShimmer Ice and Easy (een laagje).

After wearing a combination of two polishes, it inspired me to make another combination. This time I chose Essie After school boy blazer (two coats) and KBShimmer Ice and Easy (one coat).

Masura Jasmine honey

Mijn challenge lak voor dit jaar is Masura Jasmine honey. Ik wil deze nagellak elke maand een keer dragen als ik zin heb in een neutrale lak of een palette cleanser. Dit is mijn eerste keer dit jaar dat ik deze nagellak draag. Ik heb drie laagjes nodig om het volledig dekkend te krijgen.

My challenge polish for 2026 is Masura Jasmine honey. I want to wear this nail polish each month this year whenever I feel like wearing a neutral or a palette cleanser. This is my first time this year using this polish. I needed three coats to reach full coverage.

Clionadh Cosmetics Royalty

Daarna droeg ik een ijzige lichtpaarse nagellak van Clionadh Cosmetics. Deze nagellak heet Royalty en komt van de Stained Glass collection. De multichrome shimmer in deze nagellak heeft de kleuren perzik-goud-groen-turquoise. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes.

Next I wore a icey light purple nail polish from Clionadh Cosmetics. This nail polish is called Royalty and is from the Stained Glass collection. The multichrome shimmer is peach-gold-green-turquoise. I wore it in three coats.

Catrice ICONails Berry Mary

De laatste manicure van de maand was weer geïnspireerd op de maandsteen granaat. Deze keer koos ik voor Catrice ICONails 101 Berry Mary en ik droeg het in twee laagjes.

The final manicure of the month was again inspired by the birth stone Garnet. This time I chose Catrice ICONails 101 Berry Mary and I wore it in two coats.

2025 in review, favourite manicures and plans for 2026

2025 in review

Ik had vorig jaar de volgende doelen voor 2025 bedacht:

Low buy voor nagellakken. Bij voorkeur geen indie nagellakken bestellen en alleen (beperkt) aankopen uit de drogisterij;
15% van de collectie dragen;
Ongedragen of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken hebben een lichte voorrang, maar ik start dit jaar ook met opnieuw dragen van nagellakken die al in Lacquergram gefotografeerd staan. Ik mis sommige favorieten;
Doorgaan met het maken van seizoens selecties;
Ik heb afgelopen november mijn potje China Glaze fairy dust (een holografische glitter topper) weer bruikbaar gemaakt. Ik wil proberen deze topper elke maand een keer te gebruiken, voordat hij weer te veel indikt;
en ik wil een heel groot project opstarten: namelijk de collectie op swatch sticks zetten en deze organiseren op kleur. Hopelijk helpt dit bij het vinden van kleuren bij de seizoens selecties.

Als ik per doel terugkrijg, is dit mijn evaluatie:

Ik heb mij aan mijn nagelbudget gehouden. Maar ik heb meer nagellakken bij de drogisterij gekocht. Dus in totaal heb ik wel meer potjes nagellak erbij aan het einde van het jaar. Ik heb maar enkele indie nagellakken gekocht.
21% van de collectie is gedurende het jaar gedragen;
Het is mij gelukt om een mix van nieuwe of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken te dragen, maar ook oude en nieuwe favorieten heb ik gedurende het jaar herdragen.
Ik heb elke seizoen (vier keer per jaar) een selectie nagellakken verzameld en per maand maakte ik een kleine selectie daar weer uit.
Het is mij gelukt om alle 12 maanden van het jaar één keer per maand China Glaze Fairy dust te gebruiken. Ik ben heel trots op het succesvol halen van deze challenge.
Het is mij gelukt de hele collectie op swatch sticks te zetten. Het heeft heel veel inzicht gegeven over de omvang en kleuren van de collectie.

Uiteindelijk zijn dit de statistieken voor 2025:

Ik heb 21% van de collectie gedragen;
Ik heb 128 manicures gedragen; dat zijn gemiddeld 10,6 manicures per maand en 2,5 manicures per week;
In totaal is nu 68,3% van de collectie gedocumenteerd in Lacquergram;
De collectie groeide met 86 nagellakken. Iets meer dan verwacht, maar wel binnen budget. De meeste groei is door de aankoop van drogisterijmerk nagellakken.

Last year I formulated the following goals for 2025:

Low buy on nail polish. I would like to buy no indie polishes in 2025 and only buy polishes in the drugstore (limited quantities);
Wear 15% of the collection;
Unworn or not photographed polishes still have a slight priority, but I want to start rewearing polishes that have a picture in Lacquergram. I missed some favourites;
Continue making seasonal selections;
Last November I revived my bottle of China Glaze fairy dust (holographic topper). I want to try to wear it each month in a manicure, before it gets gloopy again;
And I want to start a very big project: I want to swatch out the collection on swatch sticks and organize these swatch sticks in colour families. I hope this will help me with finding colours for the seasonal selections.

Here’s my evaluation for each goal:

I kept to my nail polish budget. I bought more polishes at the drugstore, so in total I added more bottles of polish to the collection. I bought few indie polishes.
I wore 21% of the collection;
I was successful in wearing a mix of new or not photographed polishes and favourites (new and old)
For each season (4 times during the year) I collected a selection of polishes and for each month I made a smaller selection to wear.
I was successful to wear China Glaze Fairy dust once per month for all twelve months. I am very proud of my success with this challenge.
I have put the whole collection on swatch sticks. It provides me with a lot of insight to the amount of polish and the colours in my collection.

Here are my statistics for 2025:

I wore 21% of the collection;
I wore 128 manicures; that is on average 10,6 manicures a month and 2,5 manicures a week;
In total 68,3% of the collection is documented in Lacquergram;
I added 86 nail polishes. Slightly more than expected but I stayed within budget. I mostly added drugstore brand polishes to the collection.

Plans for 2026

Vorig jaar was een succesvol jaar voor mijn doelen. Toch kies ik er voor om weer vergelijkbare (bescheiden) doelen te formuleren:

Ik ga verder met het dragen van een mix van ongedocumenteerde nagellakken en het herdragen van favorieten;
Ik wil mij blijven houden aan mijn nagellak budget en bij voorkeur nagellakken kopen van drogisterij merken. Het werkt erg goed om een nagellak eerst te zien, voordat ik het koop.
Nu de collectie op swatch sticks is gezet, wil ik dat blijven bijhouden.
Ik wil doorgaan met het twee keer per week lakken van de nagels. Vorig jaar ben ik door een stressvolle tijd gegaan en heb ik nog iets vaker mijn nagellak gewisseld. Dat werkte erg goed als ontspanning.
Ik wil doorgaan met het maken van seizoens selecties.
Vorig jaar gaf ik mijzelf de challenge om elke maand een manicure te doen met de topper China Glaze Fairy dust. Dit jaar wil ik mijzelf de challenge te geven om maandelijks een manicure te dragen met Masura Jasmine honey. Ik heb mijn eerste potjes opgemaakt, doordat ik het een periode als enige neutrale nagellak heb gedragen. Mijn nieuwe potje heb ik maar één of twee keer gedragen. Ik kan deze nagellak niet meer kopen, maar ik ben geen nagellak museum. Dus ik wil het graag gebruiken. Als ik het binnen 12 maanden op maak, heb ik ILNP Daisy Jane als volgende aangewezen. Ik ben erg benieuwd hoever ik kom.

Last year I was successful with my goals. This year I choose to keep my goals about the same:

I want to continue to wear a mix of undocumented polishes and rewears of favourites;
I want to keep to my nail polish budget and prefer to buy drugstore nail polishes. It is very good for my purchases to see a polish first, before I buy it.
I have now swatched my collection on swatch sticks, so I want to keep up with that.
I want to continue to polish my nails twice a week. Last year we had a stressful period and I painted my nails more than twice a week. That was very good for relaxation.
I want to continue with making seasonal selections.
Last year I gave myself the challenge to wear China Glaze Fairy dust each month as a topper over a manicure. This year I want to give myself the challenge wear Masure Jasmine honey once a month. I finished my first bottle, when I wore it very regularly as my favourite neutral nail polish. My new bottle is only worn once or twice. Jasmine honey is no longer available to me to buy a new one, but I don’t have a nail polish museum. So I want to use it. If I finish it within 12 months, I want to continue this challenge with ILNP Daisy Jane. I’m very curious how successful I will be.

Polishes I wore in December 2025

December is een maand vol feestdagen. We hebben Sinterklaas, Kerst en Oud en Nieuw. Daarnaast waren de eerste weken van de maand ongebruikelijk warm, waarna het meteen omsloeg in koud winterweer. Omdat ik de hele maand kerstactiviteiten had, heb ik heel regelmatig kerst nail arts gedragen. Alle manicures zijn gedragen met base coat en top coat, tenzij anders vermeld.

December is a month filled with holidays: st Nicholas, Christmas and New Year’s. The weather was the first weeks of the month unusually warm, but then it changed to real winter cold. I had throughout the month multiple Christmas activities, so I wore multiple Christmas nail arts. All manicures are worn with base coat and top coat, unless otherwise stated.

Dit jaar had ik voor Sinterklaas zin om een andere kleur dan de traditionele sinterklaaskleuren te gebruiken. Dus ik startte met twee laagjes Essence Out of Space stories 02 Across the universe, daarna bracht ik een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust aan. Om het af te maken bracht ik een sinterklaas stempel van Dashica Nails 007 met een dieprode stempellak.

This year for St. Nicholas I was in the mood for a different colour than the traditional colours. So I started with two coats of Essence Out of Space stories 02 Across the universe, next I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust. To finish the St. Nicholas theme I added an image from Dashica Nails 007 with a deep cherry red stamping polish.

Masura Keeper

Mijn laatste herfst manicure was Masura Keeper. Dit was ook mijn laatste, voordat de kerst manicures zullen starten. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes.

Pink glitter Christmas manicure with essence the gel nail polish 86 my sparkling darling — First Christmas manicure of the season

Al vrij vroeg in December had ik de eerste kerstactiviteit. Ik had zin in roze glinsterende nagels, dus ik koos voor Essence the gel nail polish 86 My sparkling darling. Deze micro glitter nagellak is wat minder dekkend, dus ik startte met een laagje Catrice More than nude 13 To be contiNUDEd. Daarna bracht ik twee laagjes van My sparkling darling aan. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger droeg ik twee laagjes Catrice GA 004 Rosy Bowtastic. Op mijn middelvinger bracht ik een afbeelding aan van een kerstbal die ik had ingevuld met Essence My sparkling darling. Deze afbeelding komt van stempelplaat KADS Christmas 046.

The first Christmas activity was in early December. I was in the mood for sparkling pink nails, so I chose Essence the gel nail polish 86 My sparkling darling. This micro glitter nail polish is less full coverage, so I started my manicure with one coat of Catrice More than nude 13 To be contiNUDEd. Then I added two coats of My sparkling darling. On my pointer finger and middle finger I painted two coats of Catrice GA 004 Rosy Bowtastic. And on my middle finger I added an image of a Christmas ornament that I had filled in with Essence My sparkling darling. This image is from stamping plate KADS Christmas 046.

OPI Kiss Me – Or Elf!

Daarna droeg ik een oudere OPI uit mijn collectie. Ik heb deze nagellak wel eens gedragen, maar nog nooit gefotografeerd. Ik kwam er bij mijn eerste nagel achter dat de nagellak heel dun en vloeibaar was en het liep dus uit. Dat zie je nog steeds, want het gaat om de wijsvinger van deze hand. Daarna heb ik in extra dunne laagjes gewerkt. Ik kreeg OPI Kiss Me – Or Elf! dekkend in drie laagjes.

Next I wore an older OPI polish from my collection. I had worn this polish before, but I had never taken a picture of it. I learned quickly on my first nail that this polish is very fluid, because I flooded my cuticles. I tried to clean it up, but you can still see it on this picture. That first nail was the pointer finger of my swatching hand. The other nails were painted in very thin coats. I reached full coverage in three very thin coats with OPI Kiss Me – Or Elf!

Vervolgens was het tijd voor de volgende kerst activiteit. Nu koos ik voor Essie It’s all bright, een champagne metallic nagellak. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes. Om het feestelijker te maken bracht ik van een Essence kerst stempelplaat afbeeldingen aan met bruine stempellak.

Then it was time for the next Christmas time activity. I chose for Essie It’s all bright, a champagne metallic nail polish. I wore it in three coats. To add to the festive spirit I added images from an Essence Christmas stamping plate with brown stamping polish.

Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable

Eindelijk was de verwachting dat er koud weer aan ging komen. Ik wilde graag winternagels hebben, als dat zover zou zijn. Ik koos voor Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes met glitter smoothing top coat en mijn normale top coat. Tussen de lagen top coat bracht ik een sneeuwvlok stempel aan op mijn ringvinger met een zilveren nail stud. De afbeelding komt van KADS Christmas 018.

Finally the weather forecast said that cold winter weather would soon come. I wanted to wear a winter nail art if it arrived. I chose Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable. I wore it in two coats with a glitter smoothing top coat and a regular top coat. In between the top coats I added a snowflake image with a silver stud. The image is from KADS Christmas 018.

Christmas manicure with Catrice Bold Magnetic 010 Love at first pull — Third Christmas manicure of the season

En toen was er weer een kerstactiviteit. Dit keer koos ik voor Catrice Bold Magnetic 010 Love at first pull. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes. Als accent nagel droeg ik op duim en ringvinger een combinatie van een laagje A England Katherine of Aragon en een laagje Masura Delicate luxury. Daarover bracht ik op beide nagels een afbeelding aan van Dashica SdP 72 met een rode metallic stempellak. Het was een hele mooie nail art en het magnetische effect was op alle nagels goed gelukt. Ik was er erg blij mee!

And another Christmas activity had arrived. This time I chose to wear Catrice Bold Magnetic 010 Love at first pull. I wore it in two coats. As accent nail I wore a combination of one coat of A England Katherine of Aragon and one layer of Masura Delicate luxury. On top I added an image from stamping plate Dashica SdP 72 with a red metallic stamping polish. I wore this accent nail both on ring finger and thumb nail. I was very happy with this nail art and the magnetic effect was successful on all nails.

Christmas manicure Essie GC lady in red — Fourth Christmas manicure of the season

Dit is de nail art die ik droeg op Kerstavond en Eerste Kerstdag. De basis bestaat uit Essie Gel Couture Lady in red. Dit bracht ik aan in twee laagjes. Als accent nagel bracht ik een combinatie aan van een laagje Catrice ICONails 81 Metal speaks louder than words en een laagje Phoenix Indie polish Candy Cane. Ik koos een afbeelding van KADS Christmas 046 en bracht deze in zilver aan op de middelvinger (en duim) en in rood op de ringvinger.

This is the nail art I wore on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The base is Essie Gel Couture Lady in red. I wore it in two coats. As accent nail I made a combination of one coat of Catrice ICONails 81 Metal speaks louder than words and one coat of Phoenix Indie polish Candy Cane. I chose an image from KADS Christmas 046 and added it in silver on the middle finger (and thumb) and in red on the ring finger nail.

Christmas manicure with KBShimmer Noell it all — Fifth Christmas manicure of the season

Op Tweede Kerstdag wisselde ik naar deze nail art. Ik maakte een skittle manicure met KBShimmer Noell it all (wijsvinger en pink), Dam nail polish Evergreen (duim en middelvinger) en KBShimmer Self-reflection (ringvinger). Ik bracht elke lak aan in twee laagjes. Daarna gebruikte ik een glitter smoothing top coat. Op ringvinger stempelde ik daarover met groene stempellak een afbeelding van KADS Christmas 036. Vervolgens werkte ik het af met mijn gewone top coat. Dit was na de magnetische nail art, mijn andere favoriete kerst manicure van dit seizoen.

On Boxing Day I changed my manicure for this nail art. I created a skittle manicure with KBShimmer Noell it all (pointer finger and pinky), Dam nail polish Evergreen (thumb and middle finger) and KBShimmer Self-reflection (ring finger). I applied each polish in two coats. The I added a glitter smoothing top coat. On ring finger I stamped an image from KADS Christmas 036 with green stamping polish. Then I finished it off with my regular top coat. This was my second favourite Christmas manicure of the season.

New Years Eve manicure

De laatste manicure van de maand was voor Oud & Nieuw. Ik startte met drie laagjes Catrice Spectra Light 01 Down The Milky Way. Daarover bracht ik een laagje Wikkid polish Flake me aan. Op de ringvinger bracht ik een afbeelding aan van BornPretty Christmas S001. Ik gebruikte zwarte stempellak en ik vulde de glazen met lichtgouden metallic nagellak voor de champagne. Ik wens jullie allemaal de beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar!

The final manicure this month was to celebrate New Year’s Eve. I started with three coats of Catrice Spectra Light 01 Down The Milky Way. Then I added a layer of Wikkid polish Flake me. On the ring finger I added an image from BornPretty Christmas S001. I used a black stamping polish and I coloured the glasses with a light gold metallic nail polish to represent the champagne. Essie Sorrento Yourself

Ik startte de maand met een neutrale herfst manicure na mijn Halloween nail art. Ik koos voor Essie Sorrento Yourself. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes.

I started the month with a neutral fall manicure after my Halloween nail art. I chose Essie Sorrento Yourself. I wore it in two coats.

Fall nail art

Daarna droeg ik een herfst nail art met bruine en gele nagellak en een gestempelde blaadjes afbeelding. Voor de bruine nagels droeg ik twee laagjes Catrice ICONails 172 Go Wild Go Bold en een laagje KBShimmer Raking It In. Voor de gele nagels was het een laagje gele Hema Golden Yellow en een laagje China Glaze Preserved In Amber. Elke nagel kreeg dezelfde gestempelde afbeelding van KADS Nature 056. Over de bruine nagels gebruikte ik een lichtbruine stempellak en over de gele nagels een donkerbruine. Daarna gebruikte ik over de nagels met China Glaze Preserved In Amber nog een laagje glitter smoothing top coat en daarna mijn gewone top coat.

Next I wore a fall nail art with yellow and brown polish and a stamped leave image. For the brown nails I wore two layers of Catrice ICONails 172 Go Wild Go Bold and a layer of KBShimmer Raking It In. For the yellow nails I wore a layer of Hema Golden Yellow and a layer of China Glaze Preserved In Amber. Every nail was stamped with the same image from KADS Nature 056. On the brown nails I used a light brown stamping polish, on the yellow nails I used a dark brown stamping polish. Next over the nails with Preserved In Amber I used a layer of glitter smoothing top coat before my regular top coat.

Nicole by OPI Got Style?

Vervolgens koos ik weer voor een wat rustigere herfst nagellak. Ik koos voor Nicole by OPI Got Style. Ik droeg het in drie dunne laagjes.

Then I wore another more quiet fall manicure. I chose Nicole by OPI Got Style. I wore it in three thin coats.

L’Oréal L’Atelier Choco with KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It

Nadat ik al KBShimmer Raking It In had gedragen, wilde ik nu een een combinatie maken met KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It. Als basis koos ik voor twee laagjes L’Oréal L’Atelier Choco (donkerbruin). En erover droeg ik dus een laagje KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It. Heerlijke herfst combinatie.

After wearing KBShimmer Raking It In, I wanted to make a combo for KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It. As base I chose L’Oréal L’Atelier Choco (a dark brown) in two coats. On top I wore a layer KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It. It was a great fall combination.

Catrice Gold Effect Nail Polish 01 Attracting Pomp

De Catrice Gold Effect nagellakken zijn favorieten, maar ik draag ze veel te weinig. Deze rode nagellak is zeker passend in de late herfst en omdat te benadrukken heb ik met gouden stempellak een afbeelding van KADS Nature 019 op de wijsvinger en middelvinger aangebracht. Attracting Pomp zelf draag ik in twee laagjes.

The Catrice Gold Effect nail polishes are part of my favourites, but I wear them not so often. This red polish looked fitting for late fall and to make it more clear it’s a fall manicure I added an image of leaves from KADS stamping plate Nature 019 on pointer and middle finger with gold stamping polish. I wore Attracting Pomp in two coats.

Ik heb drie nagellakken die qua blauwtint dicht bij elkaar liggen en besloot om deze samen te dragen in een nail art. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger draag ik Catrice ICONails 109 Sneakers & Denim in twee laagjes. Op mijn duim en ringvinger draag ik Masura Puerto Azul in drie laagjes. Op mijn pink draag ik Catrice Gel Affair 046 Blue Moon Magic in twee laagjes. Op mijn middelvinger heb ik een uil afbeelding van Born Pretty BP-X14 gestempeld. De ogen heb ik ingekleurd met Blue Moon Magic en de vleugels met Masura Puerto Azul.

I have three nail polishes that are very close in the same blue colour family. I decided to wear them together in one nail art. On my pointer finger and middle finger I wore Catrice ICONails 109 Sneakers & Denim in two coats. On my thumb and ring finger I wore Masura Puerto Azul in three coats. On my pinky I wore Catrice Gel Affair 046 Blue Moon Magic in two coats. On my middle finger I added an owl image from Born Pretty stamping plate BP-X14. I coloured in the eyes with Blue Moon Magic and the wings with Masura Puerto Azul.

Wikkid Helene (H)

Deze Wikkid nagellak heeft nog een (ouderwets) dun kwastje. Daarom had ik drie laagjes nodig om het volledig dekkend te krijgen. Deze nagellak heeft holografische glittertjes en een shimmer die gaat van rood, koper, goud en groen. Prachtige herfst kleur die ik al veel te lang niet had herdragen.

This Wikkid polish stil has a (old-fashioned) skinny brush. So it took three coats to get it to full coverage. This polish has a fine holographic glitter and a shimmer that shifts through red, copper, gold and green. It’s a beautiful fall colour that had not been reworn for too long.

Catrice C02 Falling Leaves with China Glaze Fairy Dust

Vorig jaar had Catrice in de herfst een limited edition met multichrome nagellakken. Deze nagellak heb ik toen gekocht en dit jaar heb ik het voor het eerst gedragen. Ik bracht Falling Leaves aan in twee laagjes met nog een laagje Fairy Dust. Ik gebruik China Glaze Fairy Dust nu 11 maanden in mijn challenge voor dit jaar. En ik moest Fairy Dust deze keer weer wat verdunnen. Ik ben erg trots dat ik het al bijna een heel jaar maandelijks heb gebruikt en denk al na over mijn challenge voor volgend jaar.

Last year Catrice had a limited edition polish collection with multichrome nail polishes for fall. I bought this polish back then and this year I wore it for the first time. I wore Falling Leaves in two coats and a layer of Fairy Dust. I have used China Glaze Fairy Dust this year for eleven months each month. It was the first time since starting the challenge that I had to thin it out a bit. I am very proud that I am managing to wear it each month this year. I am already thinking about my challenge for next year.

Rogue Lacquer Ohio Is Where My Heart Is

Deze Rogue nagellak vind ik heel erg passend bij de herfst. Ik draag het in drie dunne laagjes met een glitter smoothing top coat onder mijn reguliere top coat.

Ik kreeg deze Clionadh nagellak net aan het einde van de maand binnen. Ik vond hem helemaal passen bij alle bladeren die nog op de grond liggen, dus ik heb hem meteen die week gedragen. Ik draag het in drie dunne laagjes met een laagje glitter smoothing top coat en mijn normale top coat.

This Clionadh polish was delivered near the end of the month. I liked it so much with all the leaves still on the ground, that I wanted to wear it in that week. I wore it in three thin coats with a glitter smoothing top coat before my regular top coat.

ILNP Flower Girl

Mijn laatste nagellak was weer een meer neutrale keuze. Ik droeg ILNP Flower Girl in drie laagjes.

My last manicure this month was a more neutral pick. I wore ILNP Flower Girl in three coats.

Deze maand startte met de verjaardag van Dochter. De maand eindigde uiteraard met Halloween. Het weer was aanvankelijk rustig herfstweer, maar de maand eindigde met stormachtig herfstweer en veel regen. Ik kwam regelmatig aan het lakken van mijn nagels toe. Ik draag elke manicure met base coat en top coat tenzij anders vermeld.

This month started with the birthday of Daughter. The month ended with Halloween. The weather at the beginning of the month was calm fall weather, but the month ended with storm and lots of rain. I had time to paint my nails on a regular basis. I wore each manicure with base coat and top coat unless otherwise stated.

Birthday manicure for Daughter

Dochter is dit nu 16 jaar geworden! Ze draagt inmiddels zelf nagellak en heeft deze Winter soldier nail art gecreëerd. Dus voor haar verjaardag heeft ze het zelf bij mij aangebracht. Op mijn linkerhand draag ik een laagje essence mud about you, een laagje essence SteelGPT en een chevron stempel met mud about you. De ster afbeelding is van stempelplaat KADS min 009 en geplaatst met rode stempellak.
Op mijn rechterhand draag ik twee laagjes Kruidvat nail color 240 black hero met matte top coat.

Daughter turned 16 this year! She wears now nail polish herself and she created this Winter soldier nail art. So for her birthday she applied it on me. On my left hand I wear one coat essence mud about you, a layer essence SteelGPT and a chevron stamping image with mud about you. The star is from stamping plate KADS min 009 and placed with red stamping polish.
On my right hand I wore two coats of Kruidvat nail color 240 black hero with matt top coat.

Hema nail polish Rose Pearl

Daarna droeg ik Hema Rose pearl in drie laagjes. Dit is een beige – roze flake nagellak in een transparante basis. Het zijn deze kleine flakes die tot volledige dekking opbouwen. De lichtinval geeft nuances in de kleur.

Next I wore Hema Rose pearl in three coats. It’s a beige to pink flake nail polish in a clear base. I’t the small flakes that build up to full coverage. The way the light hits gives nuances in the colour.

Breast cancer awareness manicure

Toen was het tijd voor mijn BCA nail art. Deze is ook op instagram geplaatst. Ik draag twee laagjes van Catrice 038 Cosmo Where Is Wanda? Op mijn ringvinger bracht ik een stempel aan van KADS Nature 069 in dieper roze.

Then it was time for my BCA nail art. I posted it also on instagram. I wore two coats from Catrice 038 Cosmo Where Is Wanda? On my ring finger I added an image from stamping plate KADS Nature 069 in deeper brighter pink.

Wikkid polish Forest

In onze regio waren dit jaar veel eikels en ze vielen rijkelijk op de grond. Dat inspireerde mij tot deze manicure. Ik droeg twee laagjes van Wikkid polish Forest en op mijn ringvinger twee laagjes Essie Spin the bottle. Daarna bracht ik een water decal afbeelding aan op mijn ringvinger van vallende eikeltjes.

There were many acorns in our area this year. That was the inspiration for this manicure. I wore two coats of Wikkid polish Forest en on my ring finger two coats of Essie Spin the bottle. Then I added a water decal image of falling acorns.

Hema Sparkling Me with topper

Daarna droeg ik twee laagjes van Hema Sparkling Me met een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust. Sparkling Me is een paarsroze nagellak met metallic flakes.

Next I wore two coats of Hema Sparkling Me with a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust. Sparkling Me is a purply pink nail polish with metallic flakes.

Fall nail art

Toen inspireerden de herfstbladeren aan de bomen mij tot deze herfst nail art. Ik droeg twee laagjes Catrice Dijon Drama op mijn wijsvinger en middelvingen en op de andere vingers drie laagjes ILNP Autumn. Over de nagels met Dijon Drama stempelde ik een afbeelding van bladeren van KADS min 003 met bruine stempellak.

Next I was inspired by the fall leaves on the trees to wear a fall nail art. I wore two coats of Catrice Dijon Drama on my pointer finger and middle finger and on the other nails I wore three coats of ILNP Autumn. On the nails with Dijon Drama I added an image of leaves from KADS stamping plate min 003 with brown stamping polish.

Essie GC Princess Charming met topper

Two coats of Essie Gel Couture Princess Charming with one coat of Sally Hansen Celestial Top Coat. — Essie Princess Charming with topper

Vervolgens ging ik voor een neutrale manicure. Essie Gel Couture Princess Charming in twee laagjes met daarover Sally Hansen Celestial Top Coat. Deze nieuwe topper van Sally Hansen viel mij een beetje tegen. Een laagje geeft niet genoeg flakes om gelijkmatig over de nagel aan te brengen en het droogt op met een matte finish. Dus een extra laagje top coat is nodig. Volgende keer ga ik het in twee laagjes dragen, hopelijk krijg ik dan meer het effect dat ik verwachtte.

Next I wore a neutral manicure. Essie Gel Couture Princess Charming in two coats topped with Sally Hansen Celestial Top Coat. This new topper by Sally Hansen was a little disappointing. One layer is not enough flakes to spread evenly over the nails and it dries down matte. So an extra layer of top coat is needed. Next time I will apply two coats and hope it will give a better result.

Masura Autumn Bouquet

Daarna droeg ik een hele mooie herfstkleur. Dit is drie laagjes Masura Autumn Bouquet met glitter smoothing top coat en normale top coat. Het is een herfstbladrode nagellak met reflective glitter.

Next I wore a very beautiful fall colour. This is three coats Masura Autumn Bouquet with glitter smoothing top coat en regular top coat. This is a fall leave red with reflective glitter.

Essie skittle manicure

Two coats of Essie Without reservation and two coats of Essie Tempted with envy — Essie skittle manicure

Deze skittle is mijn eerste pre-Halloween manicure. Ik wisselde Essie Without reservation af met Essie Tempted with envy. Ik droeg Without reservation in twee laagjes, maar het was zo goed als dekkend in een laagje. Ik was bij het eerste laagje bezorgd dat ik voor Tempted with envy drie laagjes nodig zou hebben, maar die was uiteindelijk ook dekkend in twee laagjes.

This skittle is my first Pre-Hallowoon manicure. I wore Essie Without reservation and Essie Tempted with envy. I wore Without reservation in two coats, but I had almost full coverage in the first coat. With Tempted with envy I was worried by the first coat that I would need three. But in the end I had also full coverage in two coats.

Catrice Gel Affair nail lacquer 042 Fifty Shades of Greige

Mijn tweede pre-Halloween nail art is twee laagjes Catrice Fifty Shades of Greige. Over de wijsvinger en middelvinger bracht ik een laagje Catrice ICONails 119 Stardust in a Bottle als topper. Daarover bracht ik een afbeelding aan van stempelplaat BP-L099 met een oranje stempellak. Deze greige nagellak heeft een groene ondertoon, die erg zichtbaar is tegen mijn huidskleur. De nagellak is meer grijs als je het op een wit A4 legt.

My second Pre-Halloween nail art is two coats of Catrice Fifty Shades of Greige. As accent nail art I added Catrice ICONails 119 Stardust In A Bottle as a topper on the pointer finger and middle finger. Then I added an image from stamping plate BP-L009 with orange stamping polish. This greige nail polish has a green undertone, that shows up a lot against my skin tone. The nail polish is more grey if you place it on a white A4 sheet.

Op de andere nagels draag ik twee laagjes Orly Synthetic Symphony met essence 79 Grape Escape als topper en essence cracking top coat. Tot slot bracht over alles nog een normale top coat aan.

And here is my real Halloween manicure. On my pointer finger and ring finger I wore two coats of ILNP Frankie magnetised. On the other nails I wore two coats of Orly Synthetic Symphony topped with essence 79 Grape Escape and essence cracking top coat. In the end I added a regular top coat on all the nails.

Polishes I wore in September 2025

September startte zomers, maar eindigde herfstachtig. Ook begonnen de bomen eind september al in hun herfstkleuren te verkleuren. Dat is een aantal weken eerder dan vorig jaar. Toen kwamen de herfstkleuren pas midden oktober als ik het goed heb. Prive was het bij ons een drukke maand, hierdoor heb ik iets minder vaak mijn nagels gelakt als anders. Ik draag mijn manicures met base coat en top coat, tenzij anders vermeld.

This September started with summer weather and ended with calm and cool fall weather. Also the trees started to change into their fall colours by the end of the month. That’s weeks earlier than last year. Then it happened mid October if I remember correctly. Privately it was a very busy month, so I had less time painting my nails. I wore all my manicures with base coat and top coat, unless otherwise stated.

Rimmel Urban Purple with toppers

Ik startte de maand met een oude nagellak. Deze lijn van Rimmel vond ik erg fijn toen hij nog te koop was. Ik draag Urban purple in twee laagjes. Ik had zin om wat te experimenteren met toppers. Dus ik bracht eerst een laagje Colores de Carol Flame aan en daarover een dun laagje KBShimmer Out of Sequins. Ik heb in een klein 5 ml nagellak potje wat heldere nagellak gemixt met KBShimmer Out of Sequins om de reflective glitter wat te verdunnen. Was erg tevreden met het resultaat.

I started the month with an old nail polish. I used to love this line from Rimmel, when it was still available in the drugstore. I wore Urban purple in two coats. I was inspired to experiment with some toppers. So I first applied a layer of Colores de Carol Flame. On top of that I applied a thin layer of KBShimmer Out of Sequins. In a small 5 ml nail polish bottle I mixed some of the KBShimmer Out of Sequins with some clear base to dilute the reflective glitter. I was very happy with the end result.

ILNP Riley

Daarna droeg ik ILNP Riley, een koraalkleurige nagellak met gouden shimmer en holografische flakes. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes, maar het is al bijna dekkend in twee laagjes. Het is de tweede keer dat ik deze nagellak van ILNP draag en ik vind het nog steeds een hele mooie kleur voor de nazomer.

Next I wore ILNP Riley, a coral polish with golden shimmer and holographic flakes. I wore it in three coats, but it’s almost at full coverage in two coats. It’s the second time that I wore this polish from ILNP and I still think it’s a beautiful colour for late summer.

Cadillacquer Positive Thinking

Cadillacquer Positive Thinking is een nieuwe nagellak in mijn collectie. Vanwege de naam en de leuke glitter en flake mix in de blauwe basis, wilde ik het meteen dragen. Ik draag hier drie laagjes met glitter smoothing top coat en reguliere top coat.

Cadillacquer Positive Thinking is a new nail polish in my collection. Because of the name and the fun glitter and flake mix in this blue base colour, I wanted to wear right away. I wear it in three coats with glitter smoothing top coat and a regular top coat.

HEMA nail polish 908 Pink Sunrise

Vervolgens droeg ik HEMA nagellak Pink Sunrise in drie laagjes. Een mooie roze nagellak met gouden shimmer.

Het weer begon al af te koelen, maar ik wilde het gevoel van zomer nog even vasthouden middels deze manicure. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van Essie Chubby Cheeks in twee laagjes met een laagjes China Glaze Fairy Dust. Dit is een kleur tussen oranje en koraal in. Op de andere nagels draag ik drie laagjes pass-port to sail, een zandkleurige beige met een beetje shimmer. Over deze nagels heb ik water decals aangebracht van Ali Express. Ik was heel blij ermee.

The weather started to cool down, but I wanted to prolong the feeling of summer with this manicure. Here I’m wearing two coats of Essie Chubby Cheeks with a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust. This is a colour between orange and coral, a coral orange. On the other nails I wore three layers of Essie Pass-port to sail, a sandy beige with a little shimmer. On these nails I added water decals from Ali Express. I was very happy with it.

Dit is weer een nagellak die ik opnieuw draag. Vorig jaar in september droeg ik voor het eerst Cuticula Blossom by blossom. Dit jaar droeg ik het opnieuw in drie laagjes. Blijft een mooie nagellak.

This is another rewear this month. Last year in September I wore Cuticula Blossom by blossom for the first time. This year I wore it again in three coats. It’s still a beautiful polish.

Essie Gorge-ous Geodes

En ook deze nagellak heb ik eerder gedragen. En ik vind het nog steeds een hele mooie kleur. Dit zijn twee laagjes van Essie Gorge-ous Geodes.

This polish is also a rewear. And I still love it. This is two coats of Essie Gorge-ous Geodes.

Essie Gel Couture Bling it

Daarna droeg ik een Essie Bling it in drie laagjes. Ik droeg het voor de eerste keer. Deze nagellak bleef lang mooi zitten. Hierdoor heb ik het ook langer doorgedragen, want we hadden het privé heel druk die week. Aan het einde van de zomer draag ik een vest en twee blouses met deze kleur in het patroon. Dus daardoor was het makkelijk om deze kleur langer door te dragen.

Next I wore Essie Gel Couture Bling it in three coats. I wore it for the first time. This nail polish wore very good and stayed very beautiful for many days. So I wore it longer than I had planned at first, because it was a very busy week in our private life. At the end of the summer I wear a cardigan and two blouses with this colour in the pattern. So it was a good colour to wear a little longer.

Mijn laatste manicure deze maand is deze combinatie van Catrice ICONails You are berry cute en Catrice ICONails Sahara sand. Mijn inspiratie is deze water decal van onrijpe bramen. Dit doet mij denken aan de laatste bramen die je aan het einde van het seizoen nog over hebt aan de plant. Ik draag beide nagellakken in twee laagjes. En de water decal komt van Ali Express.

My final manicure this month is a combination of Catrice ICONails You are berry cute and Catrice ICONails Sahara sand. My inspiration was this water decal with unripe blackberries. This reminded me of the last blackberries of the season that are left on the shrub. I wore both polishes in two coats. The water decal is from Ali Express.

Het is alweer september en dus tijd om jullie te vertellen welke pedicures ik deze zomer heb gedragen. Ik heb elke pedicure ongeveer drie weken gedragen.

It’s September and time to tell you about the pedicures I wore this summer. Every pedicure was worn for approximately three weeks.

Essie Beach bum blu

De eerste pedicure dit seizoen was Essie Beach bum blue, een metallic blauwe nagellak die mij complimenten opleverde. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes.

The first pedicure this season was Essie Beach bum blue, a metallic blue nail polish. This pedicure got me compliments! I wore it in two coats.

OPI Closer than you might Belém

Mijn volgende pedicure was OPI Closer than you might Belém. Deze mintgroene nagellak was dekkend in twee laagjes.

My next pedicure was OPI Closer than you might Belém. This mint green nail polish reached full coverage in two coats.

OPI The sky’s my limit

Daarna droeg ik OPI The sky’s my limit. Ook deze nagellak dekte in twee laagjes. Het is een blauwe lak met gouden flakes en groene shimmer. Was een mooie kleur voor op de tenen!

Then I wore OPI The sky’s my limit. This polish also reached full coverage in two coats. This is a blue nail polish with golden flakes and green shimmer. It was a beautiful colour for the toes!

Sally Hansen 893 Beet Me at the Mall

Deze nagellak was me er eentje. Allereerst is het slecht dekkend. Deze duim swatch is vier laagjes en nog steeds zie je de maan van mijn duimnagel doorschemeren. Op mijn tenen droeg ik het in vijf laagjes. Ik had gelukkig die dag de tijd om steeds een laagje aan te brengen en het te laten drogen voor ik het volgende laagje aanbracht. Daarnaast waren mijn teennagels helemaal roze verkleurd toen ik Beet Me at the Mall verwijderde. Dus naast slecht dekkend is het ook nog een stainer.

This polish is a story. First it is was very sheer. This thumb swatch is four coats and you can see the moon of my thumb nail peeking through. On my toes I wore this polish in five coats. That day I had the time to apply a coat and let it dry and slowly build it up. After removing the polish my toe nails were stained into a bright pink. So next to being very sheer it was also a stainer.

Sally Hansen 542 Cherry Up

Daarna droeg ik een andere Sally Hansen nagellak. Dit keer van de Complete Salon manicure lijn. Dit is Cherry Up in twee laagjes. En daarmee was het dekkend. Gewoon een fijne creme nagellak.

Next I wore another Sally Hansen nail polish. This time it’s from the Complete Salon manicure line. This is Cherry Up in two coats. And that was enough for full coverage. Just a nice cream polish.

Essie Gel Couture Graced in garnet

De laatste pedicure was Essie Gel Couture Graced in garnet. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes. Omdat het op de tenen was, was het net dekkend genoeg. Als manicure had ik het waarschijnlijk nog een derde laagje gegeven.

The final pedicure was Essie Gel Couture Graced in garnet. I wore it in two coats. It was just enough, because I was wearing it on the toes. For a manicure I would probably added a third coat.

Ik zag dat ik als sinds augustus 2022 met deze serie bezig ben. Het is inmiddels een heel fotoverslag van de gedragen nagellakken geworden. Ik merk ook dat het fijn is om door oude posts te gaan. Augustus is onze vakantiemaand. Deze maand zijn we 2 weken op vakantie geweest. Zoals gebruikelijk had ik wat nagellakken ingepakt om tijdens de vakantie te dragen. Door de start van het schooljaar en alle drukte die daarbij hoort, was ik iets later met het schrijven van deze blog. In ieder geval dit zijn de lakken die ik deze maand gedragen.

I realised that I am writing this series of worn polishes since 2022. It’s become a colourful archive of worn polishes and I am happy when I look back through old posts. August is our holiday month. This time we went on holiday for two weeks. As usual I packed some polishes to wear during this time. Due to the start of the school year, I was a little late with writing this blog. Anyway here is what I wore this month.

De eerste manicure van de maand was Essie midsommar bloom in twee laagjes met een laagje Essie astral aura. Dit was een veilige combinatie met de astral aura topper. In de toekomst wil wat meer gaan experimenteren met deze shimmer over andere kleuren.

The first manicure of the month was Essie midsommar bloom in two coats with one coat of Essie astral aura. It was a safe combination of a pink base with the astral aura topper. In the future I want to experiment with different colours.

Essence XOXO, Harley

Essence Harley Quinn Holo Bombs 01 XOXO, Harley

Vorig jaar heb ik Essence XOXO, Harley als pedicure gedragen. Dit jaar heb ik het voor het eerst als manicure gedragen in twee laagjes. Hele mooie holografische nagellak. Nu ik het als manicure heb gedragen, vind ik dat het erg veel lijkt op A England Chamuel. Het verschil tussen beide lakken is maar heel klein.

Last year I wore Essence XOXO, Harley as pedicure. This year I wore it for the first time as a manicure in two coats. It’s a beautiful holographic nail polish. Now as I have worn it as a manicure, I think that is looks a lot like A England Chamuel. The difference between the two polishes is only a little.

Essie salt water happy

Daarna droeg ik Essie salt water happy. Ik bracht het in twee laagjes aan. Op mijn ringvinger en duim bracht ik een afbeelding aan van stempelplaat BM-XL218. Ik gebruikte Il etait un vernis 50% sparkly 50% fairy dust als de stempellak. In het licht gaf dat nog extra holo sparkle. Al met al een leuke zomer manicure.

Next I wore Essie salt water happy. I applied it in two coats. On my ring finger and thumb I added an image from stamping plate BM-XL218. I used Il etait un vernis 50% sparkly 50% fairy dust for the stamping. In the sun light it added some extra holo sparkle. In the end a very fun summer manicure.

Vervolgens droeg ik voor de achtste keer dit jaar China Glaze Fairy Dust als topper. Mijn voornemen van dit jaar loopt nog steeds volgens plan. Deze keer droeg ik het over twee laagjes L’Oréal Rose Bouquet. Ik was blij met het resultaat. Eigenlijk kan een een laagje Fairy Dust over elke kleur.

Then I wore China Glaze Fairy Dust for the eighth time this year as topper. My intention to wear it every month this year is still going strong. This time I wore it over two coats of L’Oréal Rose Bouquet. I was happy with the end results. A layer of Fairy Dust is perfect over any colour.

Dam nail polish Shopping at Shibuya

Kort voordat we op vakantie gingen bracht ik Dam nail polish Shopping at Shibuya. Ik bracht het aan in twee laagjes. Dus dit was op mijn nagels bij de start van de vakantie. Mooie nagellak!

Shortly before we went on holiday I wore Dam nail polish Shopping at Shibuya. I applied it in two coats. So this was on my nails at the start of the holiday. Pretty polish!

Skittle met DanceLegend Pranks a lot

Na een paar dagen op vakantie bracht ik deze skittle manicure aan. Dit zijn DanceLegend Pranks a lot en L’Oréal Lemon shiver. Beide draag ik in drie laagjes.

De tweede vakantie manicure was Essence Glassy Ice mini nail polish. Ik draag het in drie laagjes en als accent bracht ik een water decal aan.

De laatste manicure van de vakantie was L’Oréal Monaco Roses. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Mooie zomerse roze kleur.

The final manicure of the holiday was L’Oréal Monaco Roses. I wear it in three coats. A nice summer pink.

L’Oréal Color Riche A L’Huile skittle manicure

Meteen na thuiskomst bracht ik deze skittle manicure aan. Op de duim en ringvinger draag ik L’Oréal B07 Jaune Citron. Op wijsvinger en middelvinger draag ik L’Oréal 770 Vert Epoque. Op mijn pink bracht ik L’Oréal B08 Rose Bonbon. Ik draag alle kleuren in twee laagjes. De gele nagellak gaf wel gele staining. Maar een geel in twee laagjes is altijd winst. Als accent bracht ik over de groene nagels een afbeelding aan van Dashica Infinity Nails 188 met een rose gold stempellak.

Immediately after arriving home I painted this skittle manicure. On the nails of the thumb and ring finger I wore L’Oréal B07 Jaune Citron. On the nails of my pointer finger and middle finger I wore L’Oréal 770 Vert Epoque. On the nail of my pinky I wore L’Oréal B08 Rose Bonbon. I wore each colour in two coats. The yellow nail polish caused some staining on my nails. But a yellow nail polish that I can wear in just two coats is always a winner. As accent I added an image from stamping plate Dashica Infinity Nails 188 with a rose gold stamping polish.

Catrice Bold Magnetic Don’t Be So Clingy

Mijn laatste manicure van de maand is een nieuwe magnetische nagellak van Catrice. Ik heb op elke nagel Catrice Bold Magnetic 020 Don’t Be So Clingy in twee laagjes aangebracht. Ik ben niet zo handig in magnetische nagellakken. Daarom draag ik ze niet zo vaak, want het kost veel tijd om zo’n nagellak op 10 nagels met de magneet stap aan te brengen. Al met al was ik heel tevreden met het resultaat!

My final manicure this month is a new magnetic polish from Catrice. I wore Catrice Bold Magnetic 020 Don’t Be So Clingy in two coats. Magnetic polishes are not my most practiced technique to apply. I don’t wear them not so often because it takes a lot in time to apply a magnetic polish on 10 nails with the magnetic step between every layer. In the end I was very happy with the result!

Polishes I wore in July 2025

De maand begon erg warm, maar daarna koelde het af en het eindigde met een periode van wisselvallig weer. Typisch Hollands zomerweer. Net voor het midden van de maand startte de schoolvakantie. Al met al kon ik regelmatig nagels lakken deze maand. Ik heb zelfs een paar keer neon nagellak gedragen. Ik draag elke manicure met base coat en top coat tenzij anders vermeld.

The month started off really hot, but it cooled down. By the end of the month it was regularly rainy and rather cool for summertime. All with all a typical Dutch summer. Just before the middle of the month the summer school holidays started. I was able to paint my nails on a regular basis. I even wore a few neon nail polishes. I wear every manicure with base coat and top coat unless otherwise stated.

A England Chamuel

Mijn eerste manicure van de maand was A England Chamuel. Deze roze-rode nagellak is volledig dekkend in een laagje. Toch bracht ik er twee aan. In de zon heeft het een prachtige holo flare.

My first manicure this month was A England Chamuel. This pinkish red nail polish reaches full coverage in one coat. Still I wore two coats. In the sun this polish has a beautiful holographic flare.

Polished for Days Barbie On The Boardwalk

Daarna droeg ik Barbie On The Boardwalk. Dit is een neon roze nagellak met blauwe shimmer. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes. De shimmer is very glowy. Een leuke zomerkleur.

Next I wore Barbie On The Boardwalk. It’s a neon pink polish with blue shimmer. I wore it in three coats. The shimmer is very glowy. It’s a fun summer colour.

L’Oréal Color Riche A L’Huile Je T’Aime

Daarna koos ik voor een helderrode creme nagellak. Dit is L’Oréal Je T’Aime in twee laagjes. En fijne zomerse rode nagellak.

Then I wore a bright red cream nail polish. This is L’Oréal Je T’Aime in two coats. It’s a nice summery red nail polish.

Dam nail polish Bite Me Sparkle Fangs

Vorig jaar droeg ik Bite Me Sparkle Fangs naar het concert van P!nk in Amsterdam. Ik wilde het graag weer dragen. Vorig jaar droeg ik het in drie laagjes met glitter smoothing top coat en top coat. Dit jaar draag ik een laag van een roze creme nagellak (Catrice Keep Calm and Pink) en twee dunne laagjes Dam. Het totaal geeft ook een dekkend resultaat en het totaal is dunner op de nagels. Zelfs met glitter smoothing top coat en normale top coat erbij. De drie lagen van vorig jaar waren best dik.

Last year I wore Bite My Sparkle Fangs to the concert of P!nk in Amsterdam. I wanted to wear it again. Last year I wore it in three normal coats with glitter smoothing top coat and top cat. This year I wore a layer of pink cream nail polish (Catrice Keep Calm and Pink) and two thin coats of the Dam polish. In total it looks full coverage but including glitter smoothing top coat and top coat it much thinner on the nails. The result of last year was really thick on the nails.

Catrice Gel Affair 018 Berry Styles

Daarna droeg ik Berry Styles van de Gel Affair lijn van Catrice. Het is een mooie diepe bessen roze kleur. Ik draag het in twee laagjes met een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Next I wore Berry Styles of the Gel Affair line by Catrice. It’s a beautiful deep berry pink. I wear it in two coats with one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust.

Masura Tears Of My Ex

Toen was het de verjaardag van Zoon. Voor zijn verjaardag mag hij mijn manicure uitkiezen. Hij wilde net als vorig jaar een glitterige blauwe nagellak. Hij koos voor Masura Tears Of My Ex. Ik moest een beetje lachen om zijn keus. Dit is een duidelijk voorbeeld dat je nagellak draagt voor de kleur en niet voor de naam. Ik draag de Masura in twee laagjes. Net als vorig jaar heb ik de afbeelding met verjaardagslingers van KADS stempelplaat Mini 032 gebruikt. Deze keer heb ik gestempeld met meerdere kleuren. Vervolgens heb ik glitter smoothing top coat en daarna normale top coat gebruikt. Zoon was zeer te spreken over het resultaat. Na de zomervakantie gaat hij naar de middelbare school. Ik ben heel benieuwd of hij dan nog steeds door wil gaan met de verjaardagsnagellak uitkiezen.

Now it was Son’s birthday. For his birthday we have this little habit that he can pick my manicure. Like last year he wanted me to wear a blue nail polish with glitter. He chose Masura Tears Of My Ex. It amused me, because it was a clear example that you wear a nail polish for its colour and not for its name. I wore Tears Of My Ex in two coats. Like last year I added an image with birthday garlands from KADS stamping plate Mini 032. I used multiple colours for the image. Then I added glitter smoothing top coat and regular top coat. Son was very happy with the result. After the summer holidays he’ll start secondary school. I hope this little tradition will continue, but it wouldn’t surprise me if things will change. He’s growing up fast!

Bourjois Bouquet Of Roses

Daarna koos ik voor een neutrale kleur. Dit is Bourjois Bouquet Of Roses in drie dunne laagjes. Deze zachte roze nagellak heeft een lichte shimmer. Neutraal maar wel met een beetje extra.

Next I chose a palette cleanser or a more neutral manicure. This is Bourjois Bouquet Of Roses in three thin coats. This soft pink nail polish has a bit of shimmer. Neutral with a little extra to it.

OPI A Grape Fit with topper

Vervolgens had ik wel weer zin in wat meer uitgesproken kleur op de nagels. Ik koos voor de HEMA topper Purple Shimmer en koos er een bijpassende creme bij. Dat werd OPI A Grape Fit en ik draag het in twee laagjes. Daarover bracht ik een dikke laag aan van de HEMA topper. Glitter smoother top coat was niet nodig, een dikkere laag van mijn gewone top coat was genoeg. Het is een leuke topper met metalen glitters, iridiscerende snippers en holografische snippers. Afhankelijk van het licht ziet het er steeds anders uit.

Then I was ready for a more colourful manicure. I chose the HEMA topper Purple Shimmer and picked a matching cream to use it over. I chose OPI A Grape Fit and I applied it in two coats. Then I added a thick layer of the HEMA topper. I didn’t need glitter smoothing top coat, a thick layer of my regular top coat was enough. It’s a fun topper with metallic glitter, iridescent shards and holographic shards. Depending on the light it looked different every time.

Daarna volgde een tante – nichtje duo manicure. Ons nichtje was op bezoek en wilde graag met tante haar nagels lakken. Zij koos deze roze HEMA nail polish Candy Twinkle. Ik lakte haar en mijn nagels met maar een laagje, zo dekkend is deze nagellak.

Then an aunt – niece manicure followed. My niece was visiting us and wanted to paint her nails met Auntie. She picked this bright pink nail polish by HEMA nail polish called Candy Twinkle. I painted her nails and my nails with just one coat, so much coverage gives this polish.

Wikkid polish Dodge ‘em with OPI Better Be Blue

Nu volgt een herhaling van een manicure die ik eerder heb gedragen. Dit is Wikkid polish Dodge ‘em, een neon blauwe nagellak. Ik draag het in twee laagjes en daarover een laagje OPI Better Be Blue. Als accent bracht ik nu een afbeelding aan van KADS stempelplaat Flower 044.

This is a rewear from another summer. This is Wikkid polish Dodge ‘em, a neon blue nail polish. I applied it in two coats and added a layer of OPI Better Be Blue. As accent I added an image from KADS stamping plate Flower 044.

Jelly sandwich

De laatste manicure van de maand is een jelly sandwich. Als basis startte ik met twee laagjes Catrice Cloudy Illusion, daarna bracht ik een laagje Glitter Storm aan en tot slot nog een laagje Milky Not Guilty. Het resultaat voelde nautisch aan. Dus wilde ik dat verder accentueren met een afbeelding van een anker met sterren en twee zwaluwen van stempelplaat Dashica SdP 22.

The last manicure of the month is a jelly sandwich. As base I started with two layers of Catrice Cloudy Illusion, then I added a layer of Glitter Storm and finally a layer Milky Not Guilty. The result seemed nautical to me. So I wanted to accentuate that more with an image of an anchor surrounded by stars and swallows from stamping plate Dashica SdP 22.
