Fijne Valentijnsdag! Vandaag laat ik zien welke nail art ik ervoor heb gemaakt. Happy Valentine’s Day! Today I’m showing the nail art I made for today. Als basis koos ik Essie wetsuited up. Ik had drie laagjes nodig voordat het volledig dekte. De shimmer is blauw, maar onder de juiste hoek gaat het over naar dieproze. Daarom stempelde ik er harten op met Hit the bottle stempellak Psycho Pink. As base I went with Essie wetsuited up. I needed three coats for full coverage. The shimmer in this polish is blue, but at the far angles it turns to a bright pink. So I chose Hit the bottle stamping polish Psycho Pink to stamp the hearts. Hallo mensen! Het is alweer even geleden dat ik een nieuwe post heb geschreven. Na de zomervakantie is het nieuwe schooljaar gestart volgens het normale programma en schema. Dat betekent dat de agenda ook weer net zo vol zit als voor corona. En daar moeten we nog aan wennen. Ik heb nog volop plannen voor de blog, maar ik weet even niet hoe ik daar vroeger de tijd voor vrijmaakte! Hello people! It’s been awhile since I wrote a new blog post. In deze post heb ik een aantal swatches en een nail art van – voor mij – nieuwe nagellakken van essence. In this post I show some swatches and a nail art of new-to-me polishes by essence. Essence shine last & go gel nail polish 64 Ready for it Ready for it heeft een lichte shimmer, maar op de nagels is dit nauwelijks zichtbaar. Het maakt de kleur wel iets interessanter. Hier zijn twee laagjes en top coat. Ready for it has a bit of pink shimmer, but on the nails it’s barely visible. It just makes the colour a bit more interesting. Music Mani collab

Er is een nieuwe Music Mani cola afgerond. Deze keer was het plan er een verjaardagthema voor een van de groepsleden van te maken. Alleen door vertraging op de lijn, is de collab deze week pas afgerond. Mocht je nail art maken en muziekthema’s leuk vinden, het is een gezellige groep! A new Music Mani collab was finished this week. It was planned as a birthday collab for one of the groups members, but it got delayed. Ik koos voor Pink en dan het lied dat ze met haar dochter zingt: Cover me in sunshine. Een favoriet hier thuis. Ook onze kinderen zingen het refrein lekker mee! Deze week wordt 25 jaar Pride Amsterdam gevierd. Helaas heeft het coronavirus ervoor gezorgd dat het programma heel erg moest worden aangepast. Alle grote festiviteiten worden doorgeschoven naar volgend jaar. Neemt niet weg dat het zeker aandacht verdiend met een blogpost en een nail art. This week 25 years of Pride Amsterdam is celebrated. Sadly Covid restrictions changed the planned program and all the grand festivities are scheduled for next year. It still means it deserves a blog post and nail art. Als basis heb ik alle nagels wit gelakt. Mijn duim, die niet mee meedoet op de foto’s is dus nog wit. Daarna heb ik een regenboog gecreëerd met de kleuren roze, rood, oranje, geel, groen, turquoise, blauw en violet. Dit is dus geïnspireerd op het eerste ontwerp van de regenboogvlag door de kunstenaar Gilbert Baker. Over deze regenboog heb ik met zwart een open hartjes patroon gestempeld. Masura Sakura is een thermal nagellak, dat betekent dat de kleur onder invloed van temperatuur veranderd. In het geval van Masura Sakura gaat de kleur van diep felroze (koud) naar lichtroze-bijna wit (warm). Masura Sakura is a thermal nail polish, which means that the colour changes depending on the temperature. In the case of Masura Sakura the colour changes between deep bright pink (cold state) to light pink-almost white (warm state). Naast dat de nagellak dus van kleur wisselt, heeft deze ook flakies en kleine roze glitters. De koude staat is zelfs iets donkerder dan de kleur in het flesje. Als accentnagels heb ik bloemen gestempeld in een dieproze kleur. Bij koude handen verdwijnen ze in de dieproze kleur. This nail polish is also filled with flakes and small pink glitters. And the cold state is even slightly darker than the bottle. I stamped a floral image as accent nail in de bright pink. The fun thing is that this image disappears with cold hands. Deze ronde van When Colours Collide was met de thema kleuren Roze, Zilver en Zwart. Normaal gesproken zou nu aan het einde van het dansseizoen van Dochter een voorstelling zijn geweest. Maar door Covid is dit niet doorgegaan. Met deze nail art wil ik het dansseizoen wel wat aandacht geven. This round of When Colours Collide had the theme colours Pink, Silver and Black. In normal times we would have had a performance by Daughter at the dance school. But because of Covid that has not happened. With this nail art I want to give some attention to the end of the season. Duim, wijsvinger en pink kregen twee laagjes roze, terwijl middelvinger en ringvinger twee laagjes zilver kregen. Over de zilveren nagels deed ik een dry brush strook roze en stempelde ik een ballerina in zwart. On the thumb nail, pointer nail and little finger nail I painted two coats of pink nail polish. Soms vraag ik thuis wat ik op mijn nagels zal doen. Vandaag kreeg ik daarop het antwoord van mijn zoon: blauw met bloemetjes! Nu is blauw een van zijn lievelingskleuren en niet heel verrassend als antwoord, maar de bloemetjes waren een onverwachte toevoeging. Dus met de opdracht blauw met bloemetjes ging ik iets maken. Een van de lakken in het Valentijns kado aan mijzelf was Masura She Meets The Sunrises. Ik vind het dragen van thermal nagellakken het leukst in warm (maar niet te heet) weer. Want dan zie ik de meeste kleurwisselingen. Bij heet weer zie ik alleen de warme staat en bij koud weer alleen de koude staat. Maar bij warm weer wisselt het bij mij nog het meest. One of the polishes in the Valentine’s gift to myself was Masura She Meets The Sunrises. I prefer wearing thermal nail polishes with warm (not hot) weather. With warm weather I have the most changes in the colours. Hot weather only gives me the hot state and cold weather the cold state of the polish. Ik draag twee laagjes met topcoat. De nagellak kan in de warme staat (en lichtste kleur) hier en daar nog een derde laagje gebruiken. Maar ik vond het niet storend. De kleuren gaan van een Bordeaux rood naar een neutrale roze. De nagellak heeft een shimmer die mij wat brons naar roze overkomt. …

Deze ronde van When Colours Collide had de thema kleuren Pastel roze en Donkergroen. Dit heb ik ermee gemaakt. This round of When Colours Collide had the theme colours Pastel Pink and Dark Green. This is what I made. Als basis gebruikte ik essence 55 be awesome tonight! Deze dekt volledig in twee laagjes. Het is een oudje, maar ik gebruik hem graag. Daarover stempelde ik met een donkergroene stempellak van KADS met een afbeelding met cactussen en kleine hartjes. As base I used essence 55 be awesome tonight! I painted two coats for full coverage. It’s an older polish, but I still love using it. On top I stamped an image with cactuses and small hearts with a dark green stamping polish by KADS.
