Afgelopen zondag was er geen post, omdat ik deze twee nail arts wilde combineren in een post. Het gaat om de laatste van de When Colours Collide en om een verjaardag collab. Beide nail arts zijn met herfstblaadjes. Last Sunday I didn’t post, because I wanted to combine these two nail arts in one post. Vakantie in “deze” tijd

Nu is dan eindelijk de zomerperiode aangebroken en mogen we vakantie vieren in “deze” tijd. Ongeveer twee jaar geleden schreef ik al in een blog wat meer over onze vakanties. Inmiddels waren onze vakantie- en reisplannen weer net wat grootser, want met oudere kinderen is weer meer mogelijk. Maar waar we anders naar een geboekte vakantiebestemming waren gegaan (per auto of per vliegtuig), blijven we dit jaar thuis. We noemen het Tuinesië, want dat vinden de kinderen zo grappig. Deze ronde van When Colours Collide is met de kleuren Turquoise, Geel en Roze. De admins wilden voor een 80s vibe gaan en ik heb mijn best gedaan daarmee iets te maken. This time with When Colours Collide it’s the colours Turquoise, Yellow and Pink. The admins wanted to create an 80s vibe and I tried to make a design to keep with the theme. Ik heb twee verschillende stempelplaten gebruikt voor dit ontwerp. Het gele vlak heb ik namelijk ook gestempeld. I used two different stamping plates for this design. I also stamped the yellow part. Dit weekeinde had Dochter haar grote balletvoorstelling met de hele dansschool. Ik hielp achter de coulissen mee met het maken van knotten, heel veel haarlak opspuiten en het aanbrengen van make up. Om in het thema te blijven droeg ik deze nail art. This weekend was the big ballet show of Daughters dance school. I helped behind the scenes with tying hair in tight ballet buns, using generous amounts of hair spray and applying stage make up. To stay with the theme I wore this nail art. Het is niet vaak dat ik “dubbel” stempel, maar mijn eerste stempels in zilver waren niet heel goed gelukt. Ook in het roze ging het niet perfect, maar samen zag het er best goed uit. Ik heb met de nail art heel veel kleine meisjes heel blij gemaakt. It’s not often that I use “double stamping”. But my first round of stamping in silver was with a lot of holes. Vorig jaar ontdekte het merk KADS op AliExpress en kocht toen twee layered stempelplaten in hun official store. Helaas bleken de afbeeldingen te groot voor mijn nagels (zie de nail arts hier en hier). Vorige maand heb ik opnieuw een paar platen gekocht, omdat op instagram Tatjana @muppet.xy steeds mooie nail arts liet zien en er enthousiast over schreef. Deze keer heb ik beter opgelet op het type en het formaat van de afbeeldingen. Vandaag laat ik de eerste nail art zien die ik met één van deze platen heb gemaakt. Last year I discovered the label KADS on AliExpress en bought two layered stamping plates in their official store. Sadly the images turned out to be to big for my narrow curved nails (see the nail arts here and here). Last month I placed a new order in their official store, because Tatjana @muppet.xy kept showing beautiful nail arts with these plates and was so enthusiastic about them. Op 5 mei vieren we dat we in Nederland in vrijheid leven. Dit vieren volgt na de herdenking op 4 mei, waarbij we stilstaan bij alle slachtoffers van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en van oorlogssituaties en vredesmissies nadien. Volgend jaar vieren we dat we 75 jaar in vrijheid leven. Maar ik wil dit jaar alvast wat aandacht schenken aan Bevrijdingsdag. De vanzelfsprekendheid waarbij wij onze vrijheid beleven, is niet overal op de wereld gelijk. Er is het afgelopen jaar weer genoeg gebeurd, waardoor ik behoefte had om het op de blog extra aandacht te geven. On the Fifth of May we celebrate in the Netherlands that we can live here in freedom. This celebration follows after the commemoration on the Fourth of May of all the victims of the Second World War and victims of later War situations and peace missions. Next year we will celebrate that we live in freedom for 75 years. But I wanted to write something about the Fifth of May today. The freedom we experience in our daily lives is not …

Het is alweer twee weken verder, dus dat betekent dat er weer een nieuwe ronde van When Colours Collide is geweest. Deze keer was de opdracht alleen met pastels te werken. Het was even zoeken, maar gelukkig vond ik een aantal Essie’s een een stempellak die aan de opdracht voldeden. Het resultaat is deze hele zoete nail art. It’s been two weeks, so it’s time for a new round of When Colours Collide. This time the challenge was to use pastels only. It was a bit of a hunt through the collection and luckily I found a couple of Essie polishes and a stamping polishes that were true pastels. The result is this very sweet nail art. Ik heb als basis twee lagen Matter of fiction gelakt en daarover heen gesponsd met Baguette me not en Zip me up (allemaal van Essie). Hierdoor kreeg ik een lichte maar niet effen basis, waarover ik de bloemenslinger gestempeld heb met Hit the Bottle Lemon Meringue Fizz. As base I painted two coats of Matter of fiction. On …
