Wat doe je met de kleuren geel, grijs en bruin dacht ik toen ik de nieuwe opdracht van When Colours Collide las. Zonnebloemen? Ik ging mijn stempelplaten door en kwam een grafische bloemenpatroon tegen. Dit heb ik er van gemaakt.
What to do with Yellow, Grey and Brown were my thoughts when I read the new challenge of When Colours Collide. Sun flowers maybe? I searched my stamping plates and found a graphic art inspired floral pattern. This is what I made.
Ik heb mijn duim en pink bruin gelakt en de overige vingers geel. Op de gele nagels heb ik met grijze stempellak een grafisch bloemenpatroon gestempeld. In het centrum van de bloemen heb ik met een dotting tool bruine stippen gezet.
I painted my thumb and little finger with brown polish and the other fingers with a yellow polish. I stamped over the yellow polish with a grey stamping polish a graphic art inspired floral pattern. In the middle of the flowers I added a brown dot with a dotting tool.

Ik heb weer een aantal stempelplaten bij KADS besteld. Nadat mijn eerste ervaring zo-zo was, heb ik nu een aantal hele leuke platen bij KADS besteld. Daarbij heb ik ook een paar stempellakken besteld en nu alles binnen is wil ik met jullie naar deze twee stempelplaten en een groene stempellak kijken.
I placed a new order with KADS for stamping plates and stamping polishes. After my first so-so experience, I think I have recieved some really nice plates. Now I have received everything I want to look at two stamping plates and a green stamping polish.
De stempelplaten FLOWER 043 en 044 zijn samen te gebruiken om middels double stamping diverse bloemen- en bladerafbeeldingen te creëren. Ik heb een takje van de plaat FLOWER 044 gecombineerd met een bloem van de FLOWER 043.
The stamping plates FLOWER 043 and 044 can be used together to create several flower and leaves images. They are meant to be used as double stamping templates. I used a leave image from FLOWER 044 with a flower from FLOWER 043.
Ik ben nog niet helemaal fan van de stempellakken, omdat deze groene stempellak in ieder geval vlekt met de top coat die normaal wel goed gaat met mijn andere stempellakken.
I’m not really a fan yet of their stamping polishes, because this green stamping polish smudged with my usual top coat. And I normally have no problems with the other stamping polishes.

Deze ronde van When Colours Collide is met de kleuren Turquoise, Geel en Roze. De admins wilden voor een 80s vibe gaan en ik heb mijn best gedaan daarmee iets te maken.
This time with When Colours Collide it’s the colours Turquoise, Yellow and Pink. The admins wanted to create an 80s vibe and I tried to make a design to keep with the theme.

Deze week draag ik een nail art die ik heb gemaakt met drie verschillende lila nagellakken van Catrice. Gewoon omdat ik zin had in pastels. Waarschijnlijk ook doordat ik de hele tijd de warme staat van Masura Jacaranda Lace heb gezien tijdens de hittegolf en een beetje meer kleur wilde, maar ook weer niet te veel. Begrijp je mij nog?
This week I’m wearing a nail art made with three different lilac polishes by Catrice. Just because I was in the mood for pastels. And probably also because I was wearing Masura Jacaranda Lace during a heatwave and wanted a little more colour then the warm state of that thermal polish, but also not too much. Om te beginnen heb ik twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 76 Do It With Lavender gelakt op alle nagels behalve mijn ring vinger. Daar heb ik twee laagjes aangebracht van Catrice ICONails 66 And Now It Is Polish Time. Vervolgens heb ik op mijn duim en pink nog een laagje aangebracht van Catrice 71 I Kinda Lilac You. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger heb ik met de metallic And Now It Is Polish Time gestempeld. Tot slot heb ik alles afgewerkt met een laagje top coat.
I started with painting all my nails except for my ring finger with two coats of Catrice ICONails 76 Do It With Lavender. My ring finger was given two coats of Catrice ICONails 66 And Now It Is Polish Time. Than I added one coat of Catrice ICONails 71 I Kinda Lilac You to my thumb and little finger. I stamped with the metallic And Now It Is Polish Time on the index finger and middle finger. And finally I sealed it all in with a layer of top coat.

Ik heb weer een thermo nagellak voor vandaag! Ik heb mij voor de nail art laten inspireren door een eerdere nail art die ik maakte met een thermo nagellak, Wikkid polish Holiday mode.
I’m showing another thermal polish today! I shamelessly used an older nail art over a thermo polish as my inspiration. That was Wikkid polish Holiday mode.
Maar vandaag hebben we het over Masura Jacaranda Lace. Een paarse thermal die in samenwerking met Hypnotic Polish is gemaakt. Deze nagellak is redelijk makkelijk in drie dunne laagjes aan te brengen. Ik vond deze ook veel prettiger aan te brengen dan Masura Waterfall.
Today we’re showing you Masura Jacaranda Lace. It’s a purple thermal that was made in collaboration with hypnotic polish.com. It’s a polish that was pretty easy to paint on in three thin coats. It painted much easier than Masura Waterfall.
Als de nagellak warm is, wordt hij wat transparanter. Ik vind dat zelf geen probleem.
When this polish goes to it’s warm state, it becomes more sheer. I don’t mind that my natural nail is showing.
Ik heb met mijn telefoon nog deze niet al te beste foto gemaakt. Hier zie je de kleur veranderen en kan je ook zien dat het meer geleidelijk gaat. Wat ik erg mooi vind aan deze nagellak is dat er wat scattered holo sparkle in zit en een rode shimmer. Deze nagellak heeft veel meer foto’s nodig als je de vele gezichten van deze nagellak wil vastleggen.
With my phone I took this thumbshot, that’s not really in focus. But it’s showing the transitioning really well. It’s doesn’t go immediately to an almost transparent whitish shade, but lightens op more gradually. What I really like about this polish is that is has a scattered holo sparkle and a red shimmer. It has many more faces than these three pictures are showing.

Toen ik deze display tegenkwam van de Catrice ICONails Travel collectie bij onze drogist, werd ik heel blij. Ik heb meer van deze mini nagellakken van Catrice en wist meteen dat ik ze zou gaan kopen. Ik ontdekte ook, terwijl ik daar stond, dat de grote flesjes speciale verpakkingen zijn van bestaande lakken. Aangezien ik al deze kleuren thuis al in de collectie had, heb ik deze niet gekocht.
When I came across this display with the Catrice ICONails Travel collection, I was very happy! I own a couple of other mini Catrice polishes and like them a lot, so I knew I would buy them all. I also found out while reading the names on the bottles, that the regular sizes were all shades from the core collection. I didn’t buy any of them, because they were already sitting in my collection.
Dus met deze vijf mini flesjes nagellak ging ik naar huis.
So I went home with these five mini bottles of nail polish.
Ik heb wel de andere kleuren uit deze collectie erbij gezocht, zodat ik ze wel kon meenemen bij het swatchen.

Catrice limited edition Travel ICONails C01 Sous Le Ciel De Paris
Ik heb steeds op dezelfde manier mijn swatches gemaakt. Op mijn wijsvinger draag ik de kleur uit de reguliere collectie. Op mijn middelvinger deed ik twee laagjes van de limited edition kleur en op mijn ringvinger 1 laagje van de limited edition kleur. Ik wilde ook steeds een laagje van de limited editions kleuren lakken om te kijken of ze ook geschikt zouden zijn als toppers. Ik heb hiervoor gekozen omdat met dit kleine flesje toch maar drie vingers op de foto zouden komen.
I used the same method for all my swatch pictures. I painted the polish from the regular collection on my index finger. On my middle finger I painted two coats of the limited edition colour and on my ring finger one coat. I wanted to show you also just one coat to check if these limited edition shades could be used as toppers. I chose for this three finger plan, because I would not get all fingers on the pictures with these small bottles.
Het eerste paar dat ik laat zien is Parijs! De reguliere kleur/ het grote nagellak flesje is Catrice ICONails 73 I Have A Blush On You. Ik draag hier twee laagjes. Op mijn middelvinger heb ik twee laagjes gesponsd van de kleine limited edition kleur C01 Sous Le Ciel De Paris. Op mijn ringvinger draag ik een laagje van Sous Le Ciel De Paris. Het is een leuke glitterlak in een rozige basis. Zoals je ziet combineert het heel leuk met I Have A Blush On You. En dat is het geval met alle combinaties!
First I’m showing you the Paris pair! The regular colour in the normal sized bottle is Catrice ICONails 73 I Have A Blush On You. I’m showing two coats on the nail of my index finger. On my middle finger I sponged two coats of the limited edition colour in de mini bottle C01 Sous Le Ciel De Paris. On my ring finger I’m wearing just one coat of Sous Le Ciel De Paris. It’s a cute glitter polish in a sheer pink base. As you can see it’s very complimentary to I Have A Blush On You. And that’s also the case with all the other combinations.
Catrice limited edition Travel ICONails C02 London Calling
Nu is Londen aan de beurt. De limited edition kleur is C02 London Calling. Die is gecombineerd met Catrice ICONails 71 I Kinda Lilac You, waarvan ik mijn wijsvinger twee laagjes draag. Op mijn middelvinger is het dus twee laagjes en op mijn ringvinger een laagje van London Calling. London Calling is een lila metallic foil.
Next up is London. The limited edition colour is C02 London Calling. It’s paired with Catrice ICONails 71 I Kinda Lilac You, that I’m wearing in two coats on my index finger. On my middle finger I’m wearing two coats and on my ring finger it’s just one coat of London Calling. I would describe London Calling as a lilac metallic foil.
Catrice limited edition Travel ICONails C03 It’s Up To You, New York
Nu is het tijd voor New York. De volgende limited edition kleur heet It’s Up To You, New York en is gecombineerd met Catrice ICONails 60 Let Me Be Your Favourite. Wederom draag ik twee laagjes, twee laagjes en een laagje van boven naar beneden op mijn nagels. It’s Up To You, New York is ook een metallic nagellak en dekt iets beter in twee laagjes dan London Calling.
Now it’s time for New York. The limited edition shade It’s Up To You, New York, is paired with Catrice ICONails 60 Let Me Be Your Favourite. Again it’s two coats, two coats, one coat across my fingers. It’s Up To You, New York is also a metallic polish and it has slightly better coverage in two coats than London Calling.
Catrice limited edition Travel ICONails C04 Summer In Berlin
Nu gaan we naar Berlijn. Als eerste heb ik hier op mijn wijsvinger twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 10 Rosywood Hills, de kleur uit de reguliere collectie. Daarna op mijn middelvinger twee laagjes en op mijn ringvinger een laagje van de limited edition kleur Summer In Berlin. Opnieuw vind ik de gekozen combinatie erg mooi.
Now we’re off to Berlin. First on my index finger is two coats of Catrice ICONails 10 Rosywood Hills, the shade from the core collection. Than on my middle finger two coats and on my ring finger one coat of the limited edition colour Summer In Berlin. Again I think the chosen combination is really pretty!
Catrice limited edition Travel ICONails C05 Skyscapers In Dubai
De laatste stop is Dubai. De limited edition kleur is C05 Skyscrapers In Dubai. Deze kleur is gecombineerd met Catrice ICONails 72 Why The Shell Not?! uit de reguliere lijn. Ik heb Why The Shell Not?! tot nu toe alleen nog maar gebruikt als basiskleur voor nail art. Maar ik denk dat Skyscrapers in Dubai daar ook heel geschikt voor kan zijn.
The last stop is Dubai. The limited edition colour is C05 Skyscrapers In Dubai. This colour is paired with Catrice ICONails 72 Why The Shell Not?! I used Why The Shell Not?! only as base for nail art so far and I think Skyscrapers in Dubai will also be very suitable for nail art base.
Nu vraag je je misschien af waarom ik zo blij ben met deze kleine flesjes. Nou dat komt door de kwastjes. In deze kleine flesjes zitten namelijk de normale maat Catrice kwasten. Dus dat maakt ze heel geschikt om mee te nemen op vakantie, terwijl je niet hoeft in te leveren op lakplezier. (Het is mijn persoonlijke mening dat een groot deel van het lakplezier afhangt van de kwaliteit van de kwast, daar hoef je het uiteraard niet mee eens te zijn 😉)
At the end of this post you may wonder why I’m so happy with these little bottles. Well that’s because of the brushes. In these little bottles is the same Catrice paddle brush as in the full size bottles. That makes these bottles very good for packing and taking along while at the same time giving you equal polish fun. (That’s my personal opinion, I think a big part of polish fun is in the quality of the brush).
Deze keer was het thema bij When Colours Collide om nail art te maken in negative space stijl in het wit. Negative space betekent dat de natuurlijke nagel een onderdeel is van het ontwerp.
This time with When Colours Collide the theme was negative space in white only. Negative space nail art is a style where the natural nail is part of the design.
Ik had een stempelplaat uitgekozen waarbij ik allerlei idee had, maar eenmaal begonnen ging de stempelplaat met mijn idee aan de haal. Ik weet niet of hier mensen zijn die ik begrijp wat ik hiermee bedoel. In ieder geval het resultaat was niet wat ik dacht te maken, maar wel best leuk.
I chose a stamping plate based on the ideas I had for this design. But when I started making this nail art the stamping plate ran with my initial plan and I ended with something completely different. I’m not sure if anyone understands what I mean with this. Anyway the result is different from my initial ideas, but was nice and I kept it that way.

Deze keer was het bij de Music Mani Collab het thema: boy or girl band. Hier zijn de kinderen dol het liedje “Wat doe je als het binnen regent” van K3. Dus ik koos voor de girlband K3!
This time the theme for the Music Mani Collab was boy or girl band. The kids here love the K3 song “Wat doe je als het binnen regent” or translated “What to do when it’s raining inside”. So I chose the girl band K3.
Dit is mijn inspiratiefoto van de video van het liedje. Daarom besloot ik witte nagels te doen met drie zilveren harten van glitters. Helemaal zelf geplaatst, deze keer geen stempels.
This is my inspiration picture coming from the video clip of the song. It made me go for white nails with three silver hearts of glitters. I wanted to place the glitters myself, no stamping this time.
Hier zie je het resultaat. Ik heb zelfs met een fijne nail art penseel K3 erop gezet.

Na alle hete dagen, had ik zin om geel op mijn nagels te doen. Ik had Catrice ICONails 68 Turn The Lights On nog ongebruikt staan. Dus tijd om deze een keer te pakken!
After the hot summer days of the past week, I fancied yellow nails. I had this Catrice polish ICONails 68 Turn The Lights On still with my untrieds. So it’s time to use it!
Ik heb hier twee laagjes aangebracht met top coat. Het is een prachtige zonnige geeltint.
I’m wearing two coats with top coat. It’s a really beautiful sunny yellow.
Na een paar uur, vond ik alleen maar geel een beetje saai. Ik heb toen deze bloemen erop gestempeld. Ik koos voor de stempellak van mijn vorige mani. Ik weet het, dat was wel een beetje lui van mij.
After a couple of hours of wear, I was less enthusiastic about just yellow nails. I added these stamped flowers. I used the same stamping polish as my previous mani. I know, that was a bit lazy of me.

Ik heb mijn duim, middelvinger en ringvinger gelakt met twee laagjes essence 24 Indian summer met daarover heen één laagje Catrice Galactic Glow 04 Fast As Lightning Speed. Daarna stempelde ik deze nagels met de rozen op stempelplaat BM-715 met Maniology stempellak Rose Garden. Deze stempellak is bijna dezelfde kleur als Catrice ICONails 07 Meet Me At Coral Island. Met deze Catrice lakte ik mijn wijsvinger en pink. Daarna bracht ik nog een laagje top coat aan.

After that I stamped on these nails the roses from stamping plate BM-715 with Maniology stamping polish Rose Garden. This stamping polish is almost the same colour as Catrice ICONails 07 Meet Me At Coral Island. With this Catrice polish I painted two coats on my index finger and little finger. I finished it all off with some shiny top coat.

Ik houd van koraaltinten in de zomer, maar de hitte van gisteren was wel iets te veel voor mij. Gelukkig is het vandaag alweer een stuk koeler.
I just love corals for summer, but yesterday’s heat was a bit too much for me. Luckily in my part of the Netherlands the weather is back to normal. For everyone suffering the European heatwave: please stay safe!
