Pastel pink and dark green

Deze ronde van When Colours Collide had de thema kleuren Pastel roze en Donkergroen. Dit heb ik ermee gemaakt.

This round of When Colours Collide had the theme colours Pastel Pink and Dark Green. This is what I made.

Als basis gebruikte ik essence 55 be awesome tonight! Deze dekt volledig in twee laagjes. Het is een oudje, maar ik gebruik hem graag. Daarover stempelde ik met een donkergroene stempellak van KADS met een afbeelding met cactussen en kleine hartjes.

As base I used essence 55 be awesome tonight! I painted two coats for full coverage. It’s an older polish, but I still love using it. On top I stamped an image with cactuses and small hearts with a dark green stamping polish by KADS.

Dit weekeinde is een belangrijkste stap gezet in het versoepelen van de corona maatregelen. En afgelopen week kon ik een afspraak maken voor mijn vaccinatie. Allemaal stappen die een mooie zomer beloven. Ik ben optimistische gestemd over de nabije toekomst!

This weekend an important next step in releasing covid measures was made. And last week I could make an appointment for my vaccination. All these things give way to a beautiful summer. I’m optimistic for the times to come!

Vijf swatches essence shine last & go

Vandaag heb ik nog meer swatches! Dit zijn de vier nieuwe neon pastel kleuren van essence aangevuld met een extra nagellak die ik mooi in het rijtje vond staan.

I have more swatches today! This time it’s four new neon pastel shades by essence with one more polish that I liked.

Essence 73 Peach Please

De eerste neon pastel nagellak is Peach Please. Dit is een lichte perziktint die op de meeste nagels dekkend was in twee laagjes. Een paar nagels hadden een derde laagje kunnen gebruiken, maar dat heb ik niet gedaan.

The first neon pastel nail polish is Peach Please. This is a light shade of peach and in two coats it was mostly full coverage. A couple of nails would have benefitted from a third coat.

Essence 74 Lilac Vibes

Essence Lilac Vibes is een mooie lichte lila pastel kleur. Mooi dekkend in twee laagjes.

Essence Lilac Vibes is a beautiful light shade of lilac. It covered nicely in two coats.

Essence 75 Cotton Candy Love

Cotton Candy Love was wat lastiger om mee te werken. In drie dunne laagjes kreeg ik het wel netjes dekkend. Over deze ben ik wat minder enthousiast.

Cotton Candy Love was more difficult to handle. By working in thin coats I managed to get full coverage in three coats. I’m less enthusiastic obout this one.

Essence 76 Frozen Mint

Essence Frozen Mint is de laatste neon pastel in het rijtje. In twee laagjes dekte het goed. Net als Lilac Vibes een hele fijne neon pastel nagellak!

Essence Frozen Mint is the last neon pastel in this series. It was easy to paint and I had full coverage in two coats. Just like Lilav Vibes it’s a nice neon pastel nail polish.

Essence 77 Deep Sea Baby

Dit is geen neon pastel nagellak, maar Deep Sea Baby is wel een hele mooie heldere blauw. Bijna dekkend in de eerste laag, maar op de foto in twee laagjes met top coat.

This is not a neon pastel nail polish, but Deep Sea Baby is a very beautiful bright blue. It’s almost a one coater. On the picture two coats with top coat.

Ik denk dat ik Lilac Vibes, Frozen Mint en Deep Sea Baby fijn ga dragen deze zomer! Ik ben wat minder enthousiast over Peach Please en Cotton Candy Love. Nu de zon en het mooie weer begonnen zijn, kunnen ze lekker op de nagels!

I think I will enjoy Lilac Vibes, Frozen Mint and Deep Sea Baby a lot this summer! I’m less enthusiastic about Peach Please and Cotton Candy Love. After weeks of cool rainy weather, the sun and nice weather have finally come. The best circumstances to wear these nail polishes!

Multichrome and Black

Deze ronde van When Colours Collide had de thema kleuren Multichrome en Zwart. Een heerlijk excuus om Ophelia van Wikkid weer eens te dragen. De combinatie multichrome en zwart is al eens eerder gedaan. Dat kan je hier zien.

This round of When Colours Collide had the theme colours Multichrome and Black. It was the perfect excuse to wear Wikkid polish Ophelia again. The combination multichrome and black has been done before. You can see it here.

Ik bracht twee laagjes Ophelia aan op alle nagels. En ik stempelde erover met zwart. Met een beetje ongemakkelijke handpose kon ik alle kleuren op de foto krijgen. Op de middelste nagels kreeg ik de shift blauw en paars. Op de buitenste nagels zie je de shift van fuchsia naar brons.

I painted two coats of Ophelia on all nails. And I stamped on it with black. It is a weird hand pose, but it made it possible to show all the shifts. On the middle nails you can see the purple to blue. On the outer nails you see the shift from fuchsia to bronze.

Vier nieuwe swatches Catrice More Than Nude nagellak

Het is bijna een jaar geleden dat ik swatches uit de Catrice More Than Nude nail polish lijn toonde. Vandaag heb ik vier nieuwe kleuren. Vorig jaar was ik erg onder de indruk van een paar kleuren. Ik ben benieuwd of ik weer nieuwe favorieten erbij krijg. Alle kleuren laat ik zien in twee laagjes met top coat. Ze zijn namelijk bedoeld om enigszins transparant te zijn.

It’s been a year since I showed swatches from the Catrice More Than Nude nail polish line. Today I have four new shades. Last year I was really impressed by some shades and I hope this release will give me new favourites. I’m showing every polish in two coats with top coat. They are meant to be sheer, but you could always add extra coats.

Catrice More Than Nude nail polish 10 Cloudy Illusion

Deze nagellak is beige en semi-transparant. Dus je krijgt wel iets kleur op je nagels. Een vriendin van mij droeg zo’n kleurtje op haar bruiloft. En Cloudy Illusion lijkt mij ook erg geschikt voor trouwnagels.

This beige polish is semi sheer. So it gives a slight wash of colour on the nails. A friend of mine wore a similar colour on her wedding day. And I think Cloudy Illysion is also very well suited for a wedding manicure.

Catrice More Than Nude nail polish 11 Shine Lavenderous!

Shine Lavenderous! is een lila basis met een sterke roze shimmer. Door de roze shimmer was het in het licht vaak meer roze en in de schaduw meer lila. Ik was in het flesje niet zo enthousiast, maar op de nagels vond ik het erg mooi!

Shine Lavenderous! has a lilac base and a strong pink shimmer. This shimmer made it seem rather pink in direct light and more lilac in shade. I wasn’t really impressed by this polish in the bottle, but loved in on my nails!

Catrice More Than Nude nail polish 12 Glowing Rose

Deze kleur heeft een warme zalmroze basis met gouden shimmer. Van mij had de shimmer wat meer een fleck mogen zijn. Dus wat grover/groter. Dat had Glowing Rose echt op een indie geleken.

This polish has a warm salmony pink base with golden shimmer. I would have loved it if they had used a fleck instead of the shimmer. So a slightly bigger particle for the gold. That would have given Glowing Rose a real indie feel.

Catrice More Than Nude nail polish 13 To Be ContiNUDEd

To Be ContiNUDEd zal prachtig staan bij een donkere huidskleur. Het is een soort rozige bruintint. Deze kleur was ook het meest dekkend in twee laagjes. Daarbij heeft een mooi blauwe shimmer voor net wat extra’s.

To Be ContiNUDEd will look gorgeous on deeper skin tones. It’s a colour I would describe as rosy brown. This colour gave also the most coverage in two coats. It had a beautiful blue shimmer for that something extra.

Groen, Paars en Peach

Deze ronde van When Colours Collide had de thema kleuren Groen, Paars en Peach. Eerlijk gezegd is het een kleurencombinatie die ik niet zo snel zelf bedacht zou hebben. Maar met Moederdag in mijn achterhoofd kwam ik toch tot een leuk ontwerp. Want op Moederdag geef je … bloemen!

This round of When Colours Collide had the theme colours Green, Purple and Peach. It’s a colour combination that I would not have made myself. But I came to a design I really liked. I just needed to remind myself that today is also Mother’s Day. Because on Mother’s Day you give … flowers!

Ik koos groen als basiskleur met licht paars op de accentnagel. Op de groene nagels stempelde ik een patroon met blaadjes en blokjes. Het was een beetje priegelen, maar het lukte mij dan om de blaadjes met groene stempellak en de blokjes met paarse stempellak te krijgen. Op de lichtpaarse accentnagel stempelde ik bloemen in de kleur peach.

I chose green as the base with a light purple on the accent nail. On the green nails I stamped a pattern with leaves and little blocks. I needed to be precise, but that way I managed to stamp de leaves in green and the little blocks in purple. On the light puple accent nail I stamped flowers in the colour peach.

Donkerblauw, wit en oranje

De laatste ronde van When Colours Collide was met de thema kleuren Donkerblauw, Wit en Oranje. Dit heb ik ermee gedaan.

Last round of When Colours Collide had the theme colours Dark blue, White and Orange. This is what I was inspired to make.

Als basis gebruikte ik witte nagellak van Essence. Daarover stempelde ik via de reverse stamping methode ingekleurde bloemen in blauw en oranje.

As base I used white nail polish by Essence. On top I stamped through reverse stamping blue and orange flowers.

Zonder foto zijn dit de spullen die ik heb gebruikt: essence 33 Wild White Ways, Catrice 46 Work Hard, Play Orange, Hit the bottle stempellak Navy Jones’s Locker, KADS stempelplaat Flower 031.

Deze keer ben ik een dag later dan gebruikelijk. Ik heb wat problemen met de desktop versie van WordPress waar ik normaal gesproken mijn blogs op schrijf. Uiteindelijk nu dus uitgeweken naar de app op de iPad. Maar dat is allemaal net even anders ingericht. Als ik straks gepubliceerd heb, ben ik erg trots op mijzelf 😅

I’m a day late, because I’m experiencing some problems with the desktop version of WordPress. So I decided to give the app a try on the iPad. It’s all slightly different from what I’m used to. So if I something have published tonight, I will be very happy 😅

Koningsdag 2021

Net als vorig jaar is Koningsdag in 2021 aangepast ivm de pandemie. Daarom heb ik een extra vrolijke nail art gemaakt.

Just like last year King’s Day is scaled down in 2021 due to the pandemic. So I made an extra happy nail art.

Ik ben voor holografisch oranje gegaan! En een grappige smiley van een oude stamping plate. Mijn accent nagel heeft een beetje rood, wit, een beetje blauw en oranje. Alle nationale kleuren. Het is heerlijk zonnig, dus ik kon de holo ook op de foto krijgen.

I chose a holographic orange nail polish! And a funny smiley face from an old stamping plate. In my accent nail I managed to get all the national colours: a bit of red, white, a bit of blue and orange. The weather is sunny, so I managed to show off the holo on the picture.

Aangezien het prachtig weer is en het meerendeel van de activiteiten op tv worden uitgezonden, gaan we dat maar missen. We gaan wandelen in de zon in hopelijk een rustig buitengebied. En anders gaan we nog even verder om te kijken of het daar rustiger is. We kijken wel uit naar het online optreden van The Streamers vanavond! Maak er een leuke dag van! Hopelijk is het volgend jaar wel als vanouds.

It’s beautiful spring weather and most of the King’s Day activities are tv shows. So we decided to give it a pass. We plan to go for an outdoor activity: a long walk in a recreational area that is usually quiet. And if it’s not quiet, we will go slightly further and hope that one is quiet. We’re looking forward to the online show of The Streamers tonight! I hope you have a fun day! And hopefully next year it will be more like “normal times”.

Subtle pink spring nails

Vandaag heb ik subtiele roze lentenagels voor jullie.

Gradient stamping, light pink spring nail art. — Pink spring nail art

Als basis gebruikte ik twee laagjes Catrice More than Nude 08 Shine Pink Like A … en een laagje Catrice x Kaviar gauche C04 Rose d’Or. Hierdoor kregen de nagels een roze gloed met ook klein beetje gouden shimmer. Alleen zie je er niets van op de foto. Daarna stempelde ik steeds dezelfde afbeelding in een gradient over de vingers. Eerst wit, dan lichtroze, dan middenroze en tot slot dieproze.

The base was created with two coats of Catrice More than Nude 08 Shine Pink Like A … and one coat of Catrice x Kaviar gauche C04 Rose d’Or. This gave the nails in the sunlight a pink glow with a bit of golden shimmer. It sadly didn’t show up in the pictures. Then I stamped the same image from light to dark. I started with white, then followed light and medium pink and I ended with dark pink.

Om ons op te vrolijken (Koningsdag is wederom een thuis-dag) een mooie foto van een Japanse sierkers. Helaas staat deze boom niet in mijn eigen tuin, maar toen ik er langs wandelde – toevallig met camera – heb ik er heel veel foto’s van gemaakt.

To raise our spirits, here’s a beautiful picture of cherry blossom. I would love a tree in my own garden, but there’s no room. So when I walked past one (and I had my camera on me) I took many pictures!

Essence pretty fast nail polish

Ik heb vier kleurtjes gekocht van de essence pretty fast nail polish lijn. Ik vond het schattige kleine flesjes (5 ml) en was benieuwd of het echt zo snel zou zijn. De kleuren samen vormen ook een mooie skittle, dus zo laat ik ze vandaag ook zien.

I bought four colours from the essence pretty fast nail polish line. I liked the cute little bottles (5 ml / 0.16 fl.oz.) and wanted to try them if they really dry as fast. The colours together make en nice skittle, so that’s how I will be showing them today.

Op mijn wijsvinger heb ik kleur 01 Quick’n Pink. Op mijn middelvinger 02 Blush rush. Op mijn ringvinger 03 Ready steady red. Op mijn pink 04 Cherry on the run. De namen zijn grappig en moeten benadrukken hoe snel ze wel niet drogen. Ter vergelijking had ik de reguliere witte nagellak (Wild White Ways) op mijn duim. Ik heb het niet getimed, maar de pretty fast nagellakken waren wel sneller droog. Maar echt super snel zou ik het ook weer niet noemen. Ik heb van alle kleuren twee laagjes aangebracht. Maar 03 Ready steady red had een extra laagje kunnen gebruiken. Terwijl 04 Cherry on the run eigenlijk al in 1 laag dekte. Ik droeg het drie dagen voordat ik mijn nagels weer opnieuw lakte en het zag er toen nog heel netjes uit. (base coat, twee lagen kleur, top coat)

On my pointer finger I have colour 01 Quick’n Pink. On my middle finger it’s 02 Blush rush. On my ring finger I have 03 Ready steady red. On my little finger it’s 04 Cherry on the run. The names are funny and supposedly emphasis that it’s really quick drying. For comparison I wore the regular white polish (wild white ways) on my thumb nail. I didn’t time it, but the pretty fast nail polishes were quicker in dry time. I just wouldn’t call it really fast. I wore from each colour two coats. But 03 Ready steady red would have benefitted from an extra coat. And 04 Cherry on the run had full coverage in one coat. I wore it for three days before I changed my nail polish and it held really good. (base coat, two colour coats, top coat)

Wit, grijs en roze

Deze keer bij When Colours Collide is het thema Wit, Grijs en Roze. Ik heb mij laten inspireren door een dekbedovertrekset. Dit is wat ik heb gemaakt.

This time with When Colours Collide the theme was White, Grey and Pink. I was inspired by a bed spread. This is what I made.

Als basis gebruikte ik witte nagellak van Essence. Ik heb mijn vorige potje Wild White Ways nog niet op, maar was nieuwsgierig naar de versie in de Shine last & go uitvoering. Ik ben er heel blij mee. Twee makkelijk aan te brengen laagjes voor goede dekking. Erover heen stempelde ik rozen in roze en grijs. Ik had mij laten inspireren door een dekbed overtrekset, waarbij de rozen niet helemaal perfect zijn. Het lukte niet altijd, maar de meeste rozen zijn inderdaad niet perfect opgepakt. Ik had daarvoor ook een oude stempel gepakt die niet meer helemaal lekker werkt.

As base I used white nail polish by Essence. My bottle of the old formula is not yet finished, but I was too curious and tried the Shine last & go version of Wild White Ways. I’m really happy with the results. Two easy coats for full coverage. On top I stamped roses in pink and grey. I was inspired by a bed spread, where the roses were slightly imperfect. It didn’t go as planned on every nail, but most roses were indeed slightly imperfect. I used an old stamper for this, so I knew the roses wouldn’t be picked up perfectly.
