Ondanks de pandemie, vliegen de Valentijnsreclames mij toch om de oren. Toch fijn hoe de seizoenen niet vergeten worden! Man en ik vieren Valentijn eigenlijk niet (we vieren wel altijd onze trouwdag). Maar dit jaar heb ik mijzelf een vroeg Valentijn cadeau gegeven: nagellak.

Despite the pandemic I’m getting Valentine’s Day commercials everywhere. It’s nice that the commercials are still reminding us of the seasons! Husband and I do not really celebrate Valentine’s Day (we do celebrate our wedding anniversary). But this year, I gave myself an early Valentine’s gift: nail polish.

Normaal zou ik de afgelopen maanden flink wat drogisterij nagellak gekocht hebben, maar nu ga ik nauwelijks daar naar binnen (we beperken ons tot de supermarkten). Dus had ik wat nagellak centen opgespaard en heb ik er deze bestelling meegedaan. Van links naar rechts staan hier: Masura Puerto Azul, Masura Fluffy Plaid, Masura She meets the Sunrises, Masura Cotton Candy, Masura Sofia en Masura Crimean Rose.

Under normal circumstances I would have bought multiple drugstore polishes these past months, but right now we rarely go in there (we only go to the supermarkets for groceries). So I saved some nail polish money to order these Masura polishes. Left to right: Masura Puerto Azul, Masura Fluffy Plaid, Masura She meets the Sunrises, Masura Cotton Candy, Masura Sofia and Masura Crimean Rose.

Ik probeerde meteen Masura Fluffy plaid uit. Deze nagellak heeft holografische glitters en iridescent flakes. De kleur is moeilijk vast te leggen. Het is grijzige kleur met paarse tonen. Een perfecte kleur voor een dekentje op de bank bij koud weer! De nagellak droogt wat mat op, maar met een top coat komt hij helemaal tot leven.

I immediately tried Masura Fluffy plaid. This nail polish has holographic glitters and iridescent flakes. The colour is difficult to capture. It’s grey, but with purple tones. It’s the perfect colour for a warm fluffy plaid on the couch with cold weather. The polish dries slightly matte, but comes alive with a nice layer of top coat.

Dit weekeinde maakte ik deze Valentijns nagels. Hiervoor koos ik Masura Cotton Candy. Ik draag hier drie laagjes. Deze nagellak heeft ook een beetje holografische glitter en iridescent flakes. Als accentnagel stempelde ik deze schattige afbeelding.

This weekend I painted my nails in a Valentine’s theme. I chose Masura Cotton Candy as base. I’m wearing three coats of polish. This colour has also some holographic sparkle and lots of iridescent flakes. As accent nail I stamped this cute image.

Op dit moment zitten we nog in sneeuwstorm Darcy. Het heeft in onze regio flink gesneeuwd en het waait hard. De geplande opening van de basisscholen is voor onze kinderen een dagje uitgesteld. Door het weer kunnen veel leraren die van elders komen niet veilig naar de school komen. Dus nog een extra dagje thuis onderwijs.

Right now we have snow storm Darcy in the Netherlands. We have snow and a lot of wind. The planned reopening of the primary school of our kids is delayed with a day. Due to the weather many teachers can not travel safely to the school. So we have one more day of home schooling.
