Catrice Me, Myself and My Polish met wat foil art

Vandaag laat ik een foil nail art zien met Catrice ICONails 61 Me, Myself and My Polish. Ik heb mij aangemeld bij een collab groep voor foil nail art nu ik weer in het bezit ben van foil glue! Deze groep is georganiseerd door Lisa. Dit is ook de laatste aflevering in de serie met de spullen uit de grote verjaardag giveaway van @maggie_jmr. Maggie heeft zich een keer op insta laten ontvallen dat Royal Blue en zilver haar favoriete kleurencombinatie is voor nail art. Daar ben ik mee aan de slag gegaan!

Today I will make a foil nail art with Catrice ICONails 61 Me, Myself and My Polish. I joined a foil nail art collab group now I have foil glue again! This collab is hosted by Lisa. It’s also the final part in this series with all the goodies from the birthday giveaway of @maggie_jmr. I read one time on insta that Maggie’s favourite colour combination for nail art is Royal Blue and silver. So that’s what I worked with!

Catrice 61 Me, Myself and My Polish, silver holographic foil nail art

Deze Catrice nagellak heeft dat rare luchtje dat je wel vaker tegenkomt bij blauwe nagellak. Het is een crelly vol shimmers en dekt in twee laagjes. Daaroverheen heb ik met foil glue deze zilveren holografische pauwenveren aangebracht en ook nog twee studs op mijn pink.

This Catrice polish has that funny smell you sometimes find in blues. It’s a crelly full with shimmers and covers in two coats. On top I used foil glue to add these silver holographic peacock feathers and I added also two studs on my little finger.

Drie swatches Catrice

Man heeft mij een maand geleden spontaan verwend met een aantal lakjes van Catrice. Hij ging de boodschappen doen met de kinderen en Dochter wist dat ik ernaar had gekeken. Prompt kwamen ze er mee thuis! Vandaag laat ik van drie kleurtjes de swatches zien.

About a month ago Husband bought me a couple of polishes by Catrice. He went out with the kids to do some groceries. Daughter knew I had looked at them and surprise they brought them home for me! Today I will swatch three colours for you.

Catrice ICONails 60 Let Me Be Your Favourite

Hier zie je drie laagjes van een ouderwetse roze frosted parelmoer. Tenminste ik vind het ouderwets, omdat toen ik als kind wel eens nagellak opkreeg het meestal dit soort kleuren waren! Net als vroeger zie je wat kwastsporen, maar gelukkig stinkt het veel minder. (Wie weet nog hoe nagellak vroeger rook?)

This is three layers of an old-fashioned frosted pink pearl. At least I think of it as old-fashioned, because when I was allowed nail polish as a child it was usually something like this! Just like back then you can see the brush strokes, but the smell is much less. (Who remembers the smell of old nail polish?)

Catrice ICONails 58 Good Nails Only

Dit zijn twee laagjes van Good Nails Only. En als je heel netjes werkt kan het zelfs in één! Als je heel precies kijkt kun je nog net wat kwast sporen zien. Ik vind deze kopertint prachtig voor de herfst!

Two layers of Good Nails Only. If you work really precise it can be done in one layer! On close inspection you can notice some brush strokes. I love copper tones for autumn!

Catrice ICONails Early Mornings, Big Shirt, Perfect Nails

Dit is mijn nieuwe favoriet voor dit seizoen! Dit zijn twee laagjes. De hoofdkleur is een vergrijsde paarsroze tint met blauwe shimmer. De blauwe shimmer is in het echt beter zichtbaar, op de foto zie je het alleen in het hoekje van het nagellakpotje.

This is my new favourite for this season! This is two coats of dusty mauve pink with blue shimmer. The blue shimmer is more visible in real, in this photo it only shows up on the nail polish bottle.

Ik zal binnenkort een nail art maken onder andere Early Mornings, Big Shirt, Perfect Nails en Good Nails Only.

Twee haarclipjes van onze kleine ballerina

Afgelopen week is Dochter negen jaar geworden. Zoals ieder jaar heb ik voor haar een passend haarspeldje voor bij haar verjaardagsjurk gemaakt. Toch is dat niet wat ik vandaag laat zien. Al rommelend door haar doos met haarspelden kwam ik dit setje tegen met balletschoenen. Ik heb dit voor haar vijfde verjaardag gemaakt, alweer vier jaar geleden. En het deed iets met me.

Last week Daughter turned nine years old. Like every year I made a hair accessory that matched her birthday dress. But I won’t show that today. I was going through her box of hair clips and found this set floral hair bows with ballet shoes. I made them when she turned five years old, four years ago. And it touched me.

Ik moest denken aan het vijfjarige kleutermeisje dat haar zinnen had gezet op balletclipjes. Ik heb heel hard mijn best moeten doen om iets met balletschoenen te vinden. Gelukkig was ik succesvol en deze clipjes waren toen snel gemaakt. Oh, en kijkend naar deze clipjes kan ik jullie nog prima vertellen hoe ik ze heb gemaakt. Ik heb met de Clover Kanzashi Flower maker pointed petal size small twee witte bloemen van satijn en twee roze bloemen van organza gemaakt. Ik heb ze op elkaar gelijmd, balletschoenen in het midden en klaar.

It reminded me of the five year old pre-schooler that really wanted ballet hair clips. I had to search very hard to find a place where they sold these raisin ballet shoes. Luckily I was successful and the bows were quickly made. And looking at them I can still tell you how they were made. I used the Clover Kanzashi Flower maker in Pointed petal size small and made two white satin flowers and two pink organza flowers. I glued it all together, ballet shoes in centre and done.

Dochter zit al op balletles sinds ze 3,5 jaar oud is. De vrolijke kleuterlessen zijn inmiddels overgegaan op serieuzere lessen waarin aan de barre wordt geoefend. De posities kent ze perfect uit haar hoofd en ook andere passen begint ze bij hun officieel franse namen te noemen. De dansende balletprinses die als kleuter deze clipjes kreeg is inmiddels een dansende schooldame geworden. Haar haar is veel langer en deze kleine clipjes worden eigenlijk niet meer gedragen. Toch zal ik ze in haar haarspelden bak ze blijven bewaren. Gewoon. Zodat ik ze af en toe nog tegen kom en dan kan glimlachen om het grappige kleine meisje dat ze was toen ze deze voor het eerst heeft gedragen.

Daughter has ballet lessons since she is 3.5 years old. The more fun toddler and pre-school lessons are now more serious lessons for school kids. She exercises at the barre, knows the ballet positions and most routines are now called by their official French names. The little ballet princess that received these hair clips as pre-schooler is now a dancing elementary school girl. Her hair is much longer and these bows are no longer in use. I will keep them in her hair bow box though, just because. So I can find them every once in while and think and smile of the little girl she was when she first got them.

Wikkid polish I’m a magpie for pretties

Vandaag laat ik jullie Wikkid polish I’m a magpie for pretties zien. Het is zo’n prachtige nagellak zoals je ze alleen bij Indie merken ziet. De basiskleur is lichtpaars en het zit vol shimmer, flakies, holo en glitter.

Today I show you Wikkid polish I’m a magpie for pretties. It’s a beautiful polish that you will only find with Indie labels. The base colour is light purple and it’s full with shimmer, flakies, holo and glitter.

Man vond de nagellak druk, ik vooral heel mooi. Dit is ze in indirect licht, hier kan je de flakies mooi zien.

Husband thought that this polish had a lot going on, I just loved it. Really loved it. Here she is in indirect light, showing of the flakies.

In direct zonlicht zie je de holo het beste.

You can see the holo the best in direct sunlight.

Ik had bedacht om mijn nieuwe stempellakken van Clear Jelly Stamper (CJS) te gebruiken met deze lak, maar uiteindelijk voelde het als een soort heiligschennis om over I’m a magpie for pretties te stempelen. Dus koos ik ervoor om twee kleine veren als accent te stempelen.

I wanted to use my new stamping polishes by Clear Jelly Stamper (CJS) with I’m a magpie for pretties. But it almost felt like sacrilege to stamp something over this polish. So I decided to make a small accent with two little feathers.

Dit heb ik gebruikt: Wikkid polish I’m a magpie for pretties, CJS stempellak 016 en 019, Maniology stempelplaat BM-XL201.

This is what I used: Wikkid polish I’m a magpie for pretties, CJS stamping polish 016 and 019, Maniology stamping plate BM-XL201.

De stempellak van CJS waren hartstikke goed! Goed gepigmenteerd, alle details pakten op, niet te stroperig en ook geen rare geur. Ik denk dat ik weer wat op mijn kerstlijstje erbij kan zetten.

The stamping polishes by CJS were very good! Good pigmentation, all the details picked up perfectly, the consistency was not too thick and it also did not smell weird. I think I can add some more wishes to my Christmas list.

Essence collab group fall theme

Ik heb deze maand mij opgegeven voor een aantal challenges. Om te beginnen heb ik mee gedaan aan de Essence collab groep. Deze maand maakten we een nail art in herfststijl met dus nagellak van Essence. Ik heb een dry brush gemaakt en daaroverheen een uiltje gezet. Ik heb de uil op de stempel ingekleurd en daarna op de nagel gezet. Daarbij heb ik ook Kinetics GlitterStorm gebruikt.

This month I will participate in a number of challenges. For a start I participated in the Essence collab group. This month the assignment was to make a mani in fall theme. Of course we have to use items from Essence. I made a dry brush mani and reverse stamped an owl on it. I coloured the owl on the stamper before I placed it on the nail. I also used Kinetics GlitterStorm.

Voor de basis gebruikte ik het volgende: essence the gel nail polish 107 rosewood forest, essence the gel nail polish 105 laguna beach, essence the gel nail polish 95 vibrant purple, Kinetics SolarGel Glitter Storm.

Twee Wikkid polish swatches

Wikkid polish is een Brits indie merk. Dit merk is nieuw voor mij en ik heb het gewonnen bij de grote verjaardag giveaway van @maggy_jmr. Zoals ik altijd doe bij een nieuw merk, kijk ik op Google wat ik kan vinden. Over Wikkid leerde ik dat de eigenaresse Sarah heet en dat alle lakken dierproefvrij en veganistisch zijn. Daarbij voldoen de formuleringen ook aan de Europese standaarden.

Wikkid polis is a UK based indie brand. It’s a new-to-me polish brand that I won at the birthday giveaway of @maggy_jmr. Like I always do with a new brand, is a quick google search. I learned about Wikkid that the owner is named Sarah and that all polishes are cruelty free, vegan and comply with EU standards.

Wikkid polish Weirdo’s in the disco

Hier zie je twee laagjes van Wikkid polish Weirdo’s in the disco. Het is een glitter topper met fijne blauwe glitter, iets grotere witte hex glitters en hele grote zwarte hex glitters. Ik denk dat dit heel tof eruit zal zien als je deze glitterlak zou sponzen en daarmee dekkend aanbrengt. Ik ben daar niet zo handig in, maar tip voor jullie! Wikkid heeft dunne kwasten, maar ik had er geen problemen mee.

This is two coats of Wikkid polish Weirdo’s in the disco. It’s a glitter topper with fine blue glitter, a white hex glitters and big black hex glitter particles. It’s a glitter polish that would look really cool if you sponged in on to make it full coverage. I’m still practicing this technique, but you should try it! Wikkid has skinny brushes, but they worked fine.

Wikkid polish Holiday mode

Deze lak van Wikkid reageert op temperatuur. De warme versie is turquoise en de koude versie donkerblauw. Hij heeft wat holo glitters erdoorheen en droogt mat.

This is a thermal. The warm state is a bright turquoise blue and in the cold state a dark blue. There’s also some scattered holo and it dries down matte.

Ik heb het wat opgeleukt door er met de gewonnen stempelplaat BM-XL205 een patroon op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger te stempelen. De BundleMonster / Maniology stempelplaten van de prijs zijn mijn eerste XL platen van dit merk. Ik vind het heel leuk om ze te mogen uitproberen. Ik ben een aantal jaar geleden begonnen met stempelen met enkele kleine ronde BundleMonster platen uit de Secret Garden collectie (en een paar vierkante SdP platen van Dashica).

I added some stamping with stamping plate BM-XL205 (also from Maggy’s box) on my index finger and middle finger. The BundleMonster / Maniology stamping plates from the box are my first XL plates from this label. It’s fun to play with them and to think about how a few years ago I started out with stamping with a few of their small round plates from the Secret Garden collection (and a few square SdP plates of Dashica)

Zoals je ziet pakte het patroon perfect op. Als je mijn Instagram volgt herken je misschien deze foto, want ik heb hem ook gebruikt voor de #whencolourscollide challenge. Het thema was blauw en wit, daar paste deze nail art perfect bij. Nu ik ook top coat heb aangebracht, is de holo glitter veel beter zichtbaar.

As you can see it was a perfect transfer. If you follow my Instagram, you may recognise this picture. I also used it for #whencolourscollide. The theme was blue and white and this nail art was a perfect match. After topcoat the holo glitter was also more visible.

Dit moest ik gewoon ook laten zien: de koude staat.

En uiteraard ook een foto van de warme versie in de zon, kijk eens wat een holo!

Drie lakken van Kinetics

Deze drie lakken van Kinetics heb ik gewonnen bij de grote verjaardag giveaway van @maggy_jmr. Kinetics is een nieuw merk voor mij. Even wat zoeken op Google was leerzaam voor mij om meer over het merk te lezen. Kinetics is een merk wat in 2000 in Amerika is opgericht, maar inmiddels al heel wat jaren het hoofdkantoor in Europa heeft, in Litouwen. Het is een professioneel merk dat zich vooral op professionele salons richt.

These three polishes by Kinetics were won at the big birthday giveaway by @maggy_jmr. Kinetics is a new nail polish label to me. So some searching on Google was necessary to learn more about the label. I learned that Kinetics was founded in the USA in 2000, but has moved its headquarters to Europe soon after. It’s now based in Latvia. It’s a professional brand that mainly focuses on professional nail artists.

Het eerste waar ik op let bij een nieuw merk zijn de kwasten. De kwasten van Kinetics zijn mooi afgeronde brede kwasten. Daar word ik blij van, omdat ik dat heerlijk vind werken.

The first thing I look at with a new-to-me brand of polish, are the brushes. The brushes of Kinetics are beautiful rounded paddle brushes. That makes me happy, because that makes for happy painting.

Kinetics Raspberry Mojito

De herfst is nog maar net officieel begonnen, dus deze prachtig felle neon roze is een beetje laat voor de dames die de seizoenen aanhouden! Dit zijn drie hele snelle laagjes van Kinetics Raspberry Mojito. Ik heb geen witte onderlak gebruikt. Mijn camera had wat moeite met deze felle roze, hij is eigenlijk iets minder rood. Het is een echte neon lak, dus hij droogt mat op. Ik heb er een laag Sally Hansen Insta-Dri voor de glans opgedaan. Ik heb de lak maar kort opgehad voor het swatches, maar met dit felle pigment zou ik voorzichtig zijn dat je er geen verkleuring in je nagels van krijgt.

The official date for the start of autumn was just a few days ago, so this bright neon is a little late for the seasonal painters! Its three easy coats of Kinetics Raspberry Mojito. I did not use white undies. My camera was a bit off with the colour of this bright pink, it’s slightly less red in person. It’s a true neon, so dries down matte. I gave it a good layer of Sally Hansen Insta-Dri for shine. I only wore this polish shortly for swatching, but with such a bright pigment I would be careful for staining.

Kinetics Glitter Storm

Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger heb ik een laagje Kinetics Glitter Storm gedaan over Kinetics Raspberry Mojito. Ik vind dat deze glitter een leuke mix van kleurtjes heeft. Ik heb er blauw, roze en geel in ontdekt.

I painted one coat of Kinetics Glitter Storm on my index finger and middle finger over Kinetics Raspberry Mojito. This glitter has a fun mix of colours. I saw blue, pink and yellow glitter particles.

Kinetics Silver Fairy Dust

Ik heb een laagje Kinetics Silver Fairy Dust op mijn ringvinger en pink gedaan. In het flesje ziet het er inderdaad zilverachtig uit, maar over deze neon roze nagellak toont het wat meer goud. Het is een iridiscerende glitter, dus verwacht geen holo sparkle.

I painted a layer of Kinetics Silver Fairy Dust over my ring finger and little finger. In the bottle it shows a bit silvery, but over this neon pink it shows more golden. It’s a iridescent glitter, so don’t expect holo sparkles.

Haarstrik met holo

Vandaag wil ik jullie laten zien dat nagellak en stoffen bloemen prima samen gaan om een nog mooiere haarspeld maken.

Today I want to show you that nail polish and fabric flowers make for more beautiful hair bows.

Ik heb tijdens mijn blog break van afgelopen zomer best wat nieuwe nagellakjes verzameld. Ik wil heel graag alles al dragen en op de blog showen, alleen gaat de tijd toch ongelofelijk snel. Daarom heb ik toen ik deze bloem ging maken een nieuwe nagellak gekozen als inspiratiebron. De nagellak die ik uitkoos is A England Anne of Cleves. Ik koos er deze lichtblauwe katoenen bloemenstof bij en oudroze satijn. Als bloemblaadje koos ik Clover Kanzashi Flower Maker Pointed Petal in de maat small.

During my summer blog break I collected quite some new polishes. I would love to wear them all right away and show them off on the blog, but time is just so fast. That’s why I chose one of my new polishes as inspiration to create a flower hair bow. The polish of choice is A England Anne of Cleves. I thought this light blue floral printed cotton and dusty rose satin would work great together with the colour of the polish. As petal shape I chose Clover Kanzashi Flower Maker Pointed Petal small size.

Hier zie je het eindresultaat. Ik heb de parel twee laagjes nagellak en een laag top coat gegeven. Deze foto is indirect zonlicht.

This is the end result. I gave the pearl flatback two coats of nail polish and finished with a layer of top coat. This picture is in indirect sunlight.

Deze foto is in direct zonlicht. Kijk eens hoe mooi de scattered holo over de parel glinstert.

Giveaway prijs @maggy_jmr

Om haar 32e verjaardag te vieren hield Maggy van @maggy_jmr een grote internationale giveaway. Er was een internationale prijs (giftcard) en een Europese prijs (doos met goodies). Ik was de gelukkige winnaar van de doos met goodies. Ik voelde mij enorm verwend met deze prijs!

To celebrate her birthday (she turned 32), Maggy of @maggy_jmr held an international giveaway. There was one international prize (giftcard) and one European prize (box with nail goodies). I was the happy winner of the box with goodies. I felt super spoiled!

Alles wat je maar nodig hebt voor nail art heeft Maggy in deze doos gestopt. Op mijn Instagram in mijn highlights zie je de foto’s van direct na het openen van de doos. Wat er zoal in zat, was: nagellak, stempellak, stempel, stempelplaten, diverse folies met lijm, nagelolie, liquid nail art tape, studs, stickers, nail decals, nail art penselen, sponsjes, striping tape en zelfs wat make up en een paar snoepjes.

Everything you could need for nail art was put in this box by Maggy. On my Instagram highlights you can find the pictures right after opening this box. What I found: nail polish, stamping nail polish, stamper, stamping plates, lots of foils, foil glue, nail oil, liquid nail art tape, studs, stickers, nail decals, nail art brushes, sponges, striping tape and even some make-up and some candy.

Er zat zoveel moois in de doos dat ik een selectie moest maken wat ik vandaag wilde laten zien. Daarna zal ik op woensdag en zondag de komende twee weken nog een aantal swatches en nail arts laten zien.

There was so much in the box that I needed to make a selection for todays post. After this post I will show you swatches and some nail art on Wednesdays and Sundays the coming weeks.

Ik begin bij de nagellak.

Van Kinetics zat er dit trio van nagellakken bij. Het zijn Glitter Storm, Raspberry Mojito en Silver Fairy Dust. Dit merk is nieuw voor mij, ik zal het komende woensdag meer aandacht geven.

This trio of polishes is by Kinetics. They are called Glitter Storm, Raspberry Mojito and Silver Fairy Dust. This label is new to me, I will show you the swatches next Wednesday.

Dan ga ik nu verder met alle benodigdheden voor stamping nail art uit de doos.

Om te stempelen heb je een stempel nodig. Maggy heeft een Clear Jelly Stamper met twee stempellakken erin gedaan. Ik heb al een clear stamper van essence, dus ik weet dat het onwijs fijn is om met zulke stempels te werken. Nu is de Clear Jelly Stamper de ultieme stempel in nail art land, ik kijk er naar uit om hem uit te proberen!

For stamping you need a stamper. Maggy put a Clear Jelly Stamper and two stamping polishes in the box. I already use a clear stamper by essence, so I know these stampers are great to work with. But the Clear Jelly Stamper is the ultimate clear stamper in the nail art community, I am looking forward to try it out!

Naast een stempel en stempellak, heb je ook stempelplaten nodig. Ook daar is aan gedacht. Dit zijn vier stempelplaten van BundleMonster, nu omgedoopt tot Maniology. Het zijn platen uit de collab serie en ik heb er al hele leuke afbeeldingen op gezien!

Next to a stamper and stamping polish you need stamping plates. She even thought of that. I found four stamping plates by BundleMonster, now rebranded to Maniology. These plates come from the collab series and I have already seen some pretty images!

Om netjes te werken bij het stempelen is Liquid nail art tape heel handig. Maggy heeft voor BeautyIll gekozen. Dit merk is van een Nederlandse blogster en stond op mijn lijstje om een keer uit te proberen. Verzorgde nagelriemen staan beter op de foto, dus vond ik ook een potje nagelolie van Nailways. Dit is ook een Nederlands merk. De nagelolie ruikt hartstikke lekker en heeft kleine bloemetjes erin.

To keep mistakes off your skin it’s helpful to use Liquid nail art tape. Maggy chose BeautyIll. This is a label by a Dutch blogger and was on my wish list to try. Nourished cuticles look better on pictures, so there was also a little bottle with cuticle oil by Nailways. This is also a Dutch label. The oil smells really good and has cute little flowers in it.

Een andere ontzettend leuke vorm van nail art is met folies. Ik heb dat al een tijd niet meer gedaan, omdat mijn folie lijm was uitgedroogd. Ik ben dus heel blij met deze nieuwe folies, maar vooral heel blij met de nieuwe lijm!

Another really fun way to art your nails is by using nail foils. It’s been a while for me since I used foils. My foil glue had dried out. I am very happy with all these new foils, but I am most happy with the new foil glue!

Als laatste wil ik nog de verschillende nail studs laten zien. Hiermee kan je je nail art nog net die laatste finishing touch geven.

Last but not least are all these nail studs. It’s a perfect way to give your manicure and nail art the final touches.

Nu ik mijn prijs van Snailpolishes aan jullie heb voorgesteld, wil ik je ook een kleine nail art laten zien. Zoals ik had opgemerkt, lijkt het erop dat Masura Pink Pearl baat kan hebben bij een iets donkere onderlak. Nu wilde ik niet te donker gaan (dus niet meteen zwart pakken) en koos ik voor essence the gel polish 48 my love diary.

After the introductions to the new polishes from my giveaway prize of Snailpolishes, it’s time to show you a little nail art. As I had stated, it seems Masura Pink Pearl can benefit form darker undies. I didn’t want to go for black, so I chose essence the gel polish 48 my love diary.

Ik heb er een bloemmotief opgestempeld met Il était un vernis 50% sparkly, 50% fairy dust. Dit bloemmotief komt van een van mijn nieuwe Dashica stempelplaten. Dit is een foto in indirect zonlicht. Het magneet effect wilde zich nog niet zo graag laten zien.

Deze foto in direct zonlicht geeft meer het magnetische effect weer. En je kan ook net zien dat de zilveren stempel een beetje holo heeft.
