Kerstkado’s, wat heb ik gekregen?

Vanavond wil ik jullie de nagelgerelateerde kerstkado’s laten zien. Ik ben ook verwend met andere zaken, waaronder make-up en warme sloffen. Maar deze kado’s wil ik op de blog aandacht geven.

Tonight I want to show you the nail related presents I got for Christmas. I was spoiled with lot’s of other gifts (e.g. make-up and warm slippers). But the following presents deserved some attention on the blog.

Gelish soak-off gel polish

Gelish Terrific Trio: pH bond, Foundation and Top it off

Ik heb de Terrific Trio van Gelish gehad, bestaande uit pH bond, Foundation en Top it off. Ik gebruikte voor mijn soak-off gel base een Red Carpet Manicure set. Maar deze kleine potjes waren inmiddels aan een opvolging toe. Ik heb de Gelish soak-off gel al twee keer aangebracht. Ik kon niet wachten en heb het al zo snel ik kon gebruikt en gisteren heb ik het alweer vervangen. De verschillen met RCM zitten op twee punten: de top coat is dikker en blijft daardoor beter op zijn plek (bij RCM liep het soms uit en dat is vervelend) en het verwijderen is veel makkelijker!

I was given the Terrific Trio by Gelish, that’s pH bond, Foundation and Top it off. For my soak-off gel base I was using a Red Carpet Manicure set. But the little bottles were ready for replacement. By now I have used the Gelish soak-off gel base twice. I was so curious that I could not wait and applied it the first time shortly after Christmas and last night I replaced it again. The two main differences with RCM are 1) the top coat is a little thicker and stays better on the nails (the RCM was more runny and pooled sometimes) and 2) the soak off is much faster and easier!

Ik heb vier Masura nagellakken gekregen. Ik zal ze binnenkort swatchen en aandacht geven. Voor nu geef ik alvast de namen. Van links naar rechts zijn het Masura 1181 Pearly Rain, Masura 1217 La Sylphide, Masura 1235 Keeper en Masura 1178 Cat-titude.

I got four Masura nail polishes. I will swatch them soon and give them some love. For now I will give you the names. Left to right it’s: Masura 1181 Pearly Rain, Masura 1217 La Sylphide, Masura 1235 Keeper and Masura 1178 Cat-titude.

10 plate bundle by Dashica

10 plate bundle by Dashica Beauty Shop

Ik heb ook een bundel van 10 Infinity nails stempelplaten gekregen. Het gaat om de nummers 18, 20, 153, 173, 174, 176, 185, 186, 188 en 189. Helaas gaat Dashica Beauty Shop ermee stoppen. De stempelplaten worden op dit moment heel aantrekkelijk verkocht in bundels. Ik heb nu 37 platen van deze serie en denk dat ik daar heel veel verschillende nail arts mee kan maken!

I also received a 10 plate bundle of Infinity Nails stamping plates. I got the numbers 18, 20, 153, 173, 174, 176, 185, 186, 188 and 189. Sadly Dashica Beauty Shop has decided to close their webshop. Their stamping plates are currently sold at very low prices in bundles. I have now 37 plates in total of the Infinity Nails and I think that I can make lots of different nail arts with them!

De beste wensen voor 2019

Dit is de laatste zondag van 2018. Tijd om terug te blikken. Het is altijd fijn om ergens in het jaar een moment van reflectie te hebben. Wat hebben we het afgelopen jaar meegemaakt?

Mooie woorden van @bij_mar

Deze mooie woorden vond ik op de Instagram van @bij_mar. Het is goed om soms even stil te staan en al het mooie niet zomaar voorbij te laten gaan. Want ook al zet je doelen en kijk je vooruit (wat goed is!) even stil staan en je zegeningen tellen is ook goed! Ik doe dat traditioneel rond het einde van het jaar.

De zegeningen die ik dit jaar kan tellen, zijn:

  • We (man en ik) hebben het nog steeds fijn samen (als je dit jaar een scheiding in je omgeving hebt meegemaakt, weet je dit “samen fijn hebben” heel erg te waarderen);
  • De kinderen doen het goed (altijd fijn);
  • Het huis heeft de jaarlijkse onderhoudsklussen als verbetering gehad (houd het ooit op?);
  • We hebben werk en inkomen (een zegen);
  • We zijn op vakantie geweest (en dat was ook dit jaar weer heerlijk);
  • En met Kerst waren we als familie weer allemaal bij elkaar (ook een zegen).

Na dit moment van reflectie, laat ik jullie dan nu de nagels zien die ik heb gemaakt voor Oudejaarsavond.

Ik heb zwarte nagels met een gouden accentnagel. Het een vuurwerk ontwerp met klinkende glazen. Proost op het nieuwe jaar!

I’ll be wearing black nails with a golden accent nail. It’s a fireworks design with toasting glasses. Cheers to New Years!

Kerstnagels 2018

Met kerst draag je je mooiste jurk en ook je mooiste nagellak! In mijn geval is dat Wikkid polish I’m a magpie for pretties. Ik heb het gecombineerd met een lak van essence. Ik wilde namelijk echt niet nog een keer over I’m a magpie for pretties stempelen. En mijn mooiste jurk is … paars fluweel, waardoor deze nagels mijn outfit helemaal afmaakte.

I like to wear my best dress and my nicest nail polish for Christmas. In my case it’s Wikkid polish I’m a magpie for pretties. This time I made a combination with a polish by essence. I really did not want to stamp over I’m a magpie for pretties. And my best dress is … purple velvet, so these nails complimented also my outfit.

Helaas bleef 1 sterretje niet zo goed zitten. Na twee dagen dragen heb ik nog wat video gemaakt van de nagels onder verschillende licht omstandigheden, minus 1 sterretje dus.

We hebben er hele gezellige kerstdagen op zitten. We hebben op Eerste Kerstdag bij de schoonfamilie kado’s uitgepakt en lekker samen gegeten en gezeten. Vandaag zijn we bij mijn familie en ook daar staat een uitgebreide kerstmaaltijd op het menu.

We celebrated a real family Christmas. On Christmas Day we unpacked all the gifts with the in-laws and had a good meal and get-together. Today we’re with my family and again we will have a big Christmas meal in the planning.

Kerstnagels met mijn moeder

Vandaag staan niet mijn nagels op de foto’s. Dit zijn de nagels van mijn moeder! Ieder jaar lak ik met kerst haar nagels en zo op zijn tijd doe ik er ook wat nail art bij. Dit jaar hebben we een rode holo nagellak uitgekozen.

Today’s nails are not mine. These are my mothers nails! Every year for Christmas I paint my mothers nails and sometimes if she wants I add a little nail art. This year we chose a red holo nail polish.

De foto is niet helemaal scherp, maar je kan wel de holo goed zien! We hebben van de essence kerst stempelplaat een ster in een kerstkrans gekozen.

The picture is slightly off focus, but it showed the holo the best! We chose a star in a wreath from the essence Christmas stamping plate.

Kerstnagel recreation

Het leek mij leuk om verschillende kerstnagels te laten zien op de blog. Als eerste laat ik vandaag mijn recreation zien van de kerstnagels die ik vorig jaar of het jaar ervoor heb gedragen. Slecht hè, dat ik het niet meer weet. Daarna zal ik komende zondag de nagels van mijn moeder laten zien. Ieder jaar met kerst lak ik ook altijd de nagels van mijn moeder en soms doe ik er ook een beetje nail art bij. Tot slot zijn dan de kerstnagels aan de beurt van dit jaar. Ik denk dat ik die op woensdag / Tweede Kerstdag op de blog zal hebben.

I thought it would be nice to show you different Christmas nails. First up is the recreation of today of the nail art I wore last year or the year before. I’m sorry, I didn’t have the blog yet so I couldn’t keep track. On Sunday I will show you the Christmas nails of my mum. Every year with Christmas I polish her nails and sometimes we add a little nail art to it. And finally I will show my own Christmas nails of this year and I think that it will be on the blog on the Wednesday after Christmas Day.

De recreation die ik vandaag laat zien is met Essie Bordeaux. Dit is een jelly nagellak die in twee tot drie laagjes dekt. Afhankelijk van het licht is ze soms wat helderder rood, maar over het algemeen is het een klassieke donkere roodtint. Net toen ik de foto maakte, stond de winterzon laag naar binnen. Hierdoor is mijn Essie Bordeaux op deze foto helderrood.

The recreation I’m showing today is made with Essie Bordeaux. This is a jelly polish that is fully covering in two to three coats. Depending on the light she will show a brighter red, but usually it’s a classic deep red polish. When I took this picture, the winter sun was low and shone right through the window. This made my Essie Bordeaux look this bright.

Op de foto draag ik twee laagjes Essie Bordeaux en een laagje van de topper Essie As Gold As It Gets. Op mijn ringvinger heb ik een gouden accent gestempeld.

I’m wearing two coats of Essie Bordeaux and one coat of the topper Essie As Gold As It Gets. On my ring finger I stamped an accent in gold.

Nog een kersthaarspeld

Toen ik bezig was met de rode satijn, kreeg ik nog een idee voor een kersthaarspeld. Ik gebruik er ook een metalen (scrap book) engeltje bij dat ik al een hele tijd in mijn la heb liggen.

When I was making the red satin hair bows, I was inspired to make another Christmas hair bow. I also used the little metal (scrap book) angel that I’ve been keeping in my drawer for a long time.

Ik wilde al heel lang een Kanzashi bloem maken waar ook met lint bij gebruikt werd. Ik had al prachtige bloemen van andere dames op Pinterest voorbij zien komen. Het is mijn eerste keer dat ik het deed en ik ben erg blij met het resultaat.

For some time I wanted to make a Kanzashi flower with ribbon. I had seen some beautiful hair bows on Pinterest made by other ladies. It was my first time trying this out and I am very happy with the result.

Ik knipte vier stukken gouddraad lint van 10 cm lang. Voordat ik het rode blaadje maakte, haalde ik mijn naald door de bovenkant van het lint. En nadat het rode blaadje af was, haalde ik mijn naald door de onderkant van het lint. Vervolgens maakte ik het groene blaadje en herhaalde dit.

I cut four pieces of gold threaded ribbon of 10 cm long. Before making the red petal, I went through the top part of the ribbon with the needle. And after finishing the red petal I went through the bottom part of the ribbon. Then I made the green petal and repeated the process.

Er was een prachtig winters zonnetje toen ik de foto maakte. Hierdoor ziet de nagellak er heel anders uit dan toen ik de swatch foto maakte. Ik heb er overheen gestempeld met A-England In robe and crown. Ik vind het erg goed passen bij deze tijd naar Kerst toe!

It was a beautiful sunny (winter) day when I took this picture. The polish is showing a completely different face then when I took the swatch pictures. I stamped over it with A-England In robe and crown. I like this nail art a lot in this time going to Christmas!

Ik ben begonnen met een drie paarse nagels, een witte en een gouden en heb toen afwisselend met wit, goud en paars kerst afbeeldingen erover gestempeld.

I started with three purple nails, a white one and a golden. Then I stamped Christmas images over them with white, gold and purple.

Glittery sweater nails

In deze tijd van korte dagen, draag ik het liefste cosy sweater dresses. Legging eronder, laarzen aan en klaar! Een van mijn sweater dresses was de inspiratie voor deze nagels. De kleur klopt, het patroon is totaal anders 😄

I love to wear cosy sweater dresses on these days with so little hours of daylight. It’s easy: leggings and boots and ready! One of my sweater dresses is the inspiration for these nails. The colours are right, the pattern is just totally different 😄

Een eenvoudige Sinterklaas nail art

Vandaag is het Sinterklaas! Ik heb mijn kinderen blij gemaakt door bijpassende nagels te dragen. Ze zijn helemaal kriebelig en blij, want we gaan met opa en oma het Sinterklaas feest vieren.
