Toen ik deze display tegenkwam van de Catrice ICONails Travel collectie bij onze drogist, werd ik heel blij. Ik heb meer van deze mini nagellakken van Catrice en wist meteen dat ik ze zou gaan kopen. Ik ontdekte ook, terwijl ik daar stond, dat de grote flesjes speciale verpakkingen zijn van bestaande lakken. Aangezien ik al deze kleuren thuis al in de collectie had, heb ik deze niet gekocht. When I came across this display with the Catrice ICONails Travel collection, I was very happy! I own a couple of other mini Catrice polishes and like them a lot, so I knew I would buy them all. I also found out while reading the names on the bottles, that the regular sizes were all shades from the core collection. I didn’t buy any of them, because they were already sitting in my collection. Na alle hete dagen, had ik zin om geel op mijn nagels te doen. Ik had Catrice ICONails 68 Turn The Lights On nog ongebruikt staan. Dus tijd om deze een keer te pakken! After the hot summer days of the past week, I fancied yellow nails. I had this Catrice polish ICONails 68 Turn The Lights On still with my untrieds. So it’s time to use it! Ik heb hier twee laagjes aangebracht met top coat. Het is een prachtige zonnige geeltint. I’m wearing two coats with top coat. It’s a really beautiful sunny yellow. Na een paar uur, vond ik alleen maar geel een beetje saai. Ik heb toen deze bloemen erop gestempeld. Ik koos voor de stempellak van mijn vorige mani. Ik weet het, dat was wel een beetje lui van mij. After a couple of hours of wear, I was less enthusiastic about just yellow nails. I added these stamped flowers. I used the same stamping polish as my previous mani. Vandaag laat ik een nieuwe nail art zien die opnieuw geïnspireerd is op Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2019: Living Coral. Ik moet eerlijk zeggen dat ik ook geïnspireerd raakte door een van de Catrice Galactic Glow toppers. Today I’m showing you a new nail art inspired by Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2019: Living Coral. But it’s only fair to add that the Catrice Galactic Glow toppers are also part of the inspiration. Ik heb mijn duim, middelvinger en ringvinger gelakt met twee laagjes essence 24 Indian summer met daarover heen één laagje Catrice Galactic Glow 04 Fast As Lightning Speed. Daarna stempelde ik deze nagels met de rozen op stempelplaat BM-715 met Maniology stempellak Rose Garden. Deze stempellak is bijna dezelfde kleur als Catrice ICONails 07 Meet Me At Coral Island. Met deze Catrice lakte ik mijn wijsvinger en pink. Daarna bracht ik nog een laagje top coat aan. Dit weekeinde had Dochter haar grote balletvoorstelling met de hele dansschool. Ik hielp achter de coulissen mee met het maken van knotten, heel veel haarlak opspuiten en het aanbrengen van make up. Om in het thema te blijven droeg ik deze nail art. This weekend was the big ballet show of Daughters dance school. I helped behind the scenes with tying hair in tight ballet buns, using generous amounts of hair spray and applying stage make up. To stay with the theme I wore this nail art. Het is niet vaak dat ik “dubbel” stempel, maar mijn eerste stempels in zilver waren niet heel goed gelukt. Ook in het roze ging het niet perfect, maar samen zag het er best goed uit. Vandaag wil ik jullie deze zeemeermin nail art laten zien, die ik heb gemaakt met één van de Catrice Galactic Glow effect toppers. Today I want to show you this mermaid nail art I made using one of the Catrice Galactic Glow effect toppers. Ik heb mijn nagels lichtblauw gelakt met Essie Gel Couture Getting Intricate. Daarna heb ik op vier nagels Catrice Galactic Glow 08 Follow the Zodiacs aangebracht en eroverheen met donkerblauw het schubbenpatroon gestempeld. Op mijn ringvinger, zonder topper, heb ik een zeemeermin gestempeld. I painted my nails light blue with Esse Gel Couture Getting Intricate. On four nails I also painted Catrice Galactic Glow 08 Follow the Zodiacs and stamped over it with dark blue. On my ring finger, the one without the Catrice topper, I stamped the mermaid. Vandaag laat ik jullie een swatch zien van deze nieuwe groene nagellak van Catrice: Easy Peasy Green Squeezy. Today I’m showing you a swatch of this new green polish by Catrice: Easy Peasy Green Squeezy. Deze prachtige smaragdgroene nagellak lakt heel prettig met de brede kwast. Ik laat hier twee laagjes zien met top coat. This beautiful emerald green nail polish has a peddle brush and paints really well. I’m showing you two coats with top coat. Een vriendin van mij is dol op de combinatie van smaragd met goud, daarom heb ik een dag later mijn swatch opgeleukt met wat nail art. Ik heb op mijn ringvinger een accentkleur gedaan met Essence Cosmic Lights 02 cosmic star. Dit is een gouden metallic nagellak met grove holografische glitters. Helaas creëert de grove glitter een hobbelig oppervlak. Op mijn middelvinger en pink heb ik met goud een bloemenstempel gezet. Catrice Galactic Glow Swatches and Review

Dus… Ik heb een tijdje geleden alle nieuwe toppers van Catrice gekocht, maar omdat ik niet de snelste ben met swatchen en het nabewerken van mijn foto’s, zien jullie ze nu pas op de blog. Ik heb er zeven, maar er schijnen er nog meer te zijn. So… I little while ago I bought all the new toppers by Catrice that I could get here where I live. I bought seven, but apparently there could be one or a couple of more out there. I’m not the fastest in swatching and getting my photos ready, so it took a while to get them ready for the blog. Bij zes van de zeven toppers heb ik steeds dezelfde methode gebruikt: hoe ziet het eruit over zwart, over wit en over een nagellak die vergelijkbaar is met de basiskleur. Drie weken geleden schreef ik mijn vorige post over Polished Pantone SS19, de challenge die Julia @juliabrenchley en ik organiseren op instagram. Het is weer tijd voor een overzicht van de swatches van de kleuren van deze en tevens laatste periode. Na 9 intensieve weken waarin ik heel veel kleuren lakte, is de challenge alweer afgelopen! It’s been three weeks since I wrote on the blog about the Polished Pantone SS19 challenge that Julia @juliabrenchley and I are hosting on instagram. In this post I’ll walk you through all the swatches of the colours of this final period. After 9 weeks of lots of swatching the challenge has ended! Pantone Sweet Corn Als eerste is nog Pantone Sweet Corn. Dit is een van de neutrale kleuren van dit seizoen. Ik koos hierbij Catrice Luxury Nudes soft matt 01 White & Bright. Dit is een matte sneldrogende off-white nagellak van een limited edition collection van een paar jaar geleden. Het is erg streperig en daarom draag ik het nooit. De nagellak heeft een roze shimmer. Vorig jaar ontdekte het merk KADS op AliExpress en kocht toen twee layered stempelplaten in hun official store. Helaas bleken de afbeeldingen te groot voor mijn nagels (zie de nail arts hier en hier). Vorige maand heb ik opnieuw een paar platen gekocht, omdat op instagram Tatjana @muppet.xy steeds mooie nail arts liet zien en er enthousiast over schreef. Deze keer heb ik beter opgelet op het type en het formaat van de afbeeldingen. Vandaag laat ik de eerste nail art zien die ik met één van deze platen heb gemaakt. Last year I discovered the label KADS on AliExpress en bought two layered stamping plates in their official store. Sadly the images turned out to be to big for my narrow curved nails (see the nail arts here and here). Op 5 mei vieren we dat we in Nederland in vrijheid leven. Dit vieren volgt na de herdenking op 4 mei, waarbij we stilstaan bij alle slachtoffers van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en van oorlogssituaties en vredesmissies nadien. Volgend jaar vieren we dat we 75 jaar in vrijheid leven. Maar ik wil dit jaar alvast wat aandacht schenken aan Bevrijdingsdag. De vanzelfsprekendheid waarbij wij onze vrijheid beleven, is niet overal op de wereld gelijk. Er is het afgelopen jaar weer genoeg gebeurd, waardoor ik behoefte had om het op de blog extra aandacht te geven. On the Fifth of May we celebrate in the Netherlands that we can live here in freedom. This celebration follows after the commemoration on the Fourth of May of all the victims of the Second World War and victims of later War situations and peace missions. Next year we will celebrate that we live in freedom for 75 years. But I wanted to write something about the Fifth of May today. The freedom we experience in our daily lives is not …
