Polishes I wore May 2023

Deze maand is het mij gelukt om gemiddeld twee keer per week mijn nagels te lakken. Bereid je voor op een lange blog post!

Catrice Spectra Light 02 Iridescent Illusion with A England The Wizard Holo Topcoat

Mijn eerste manicure van de maand was een wat oudere nagellak van Catrice. Namelijk uit de Spectra Light lijn, die volgens mij uit 2018 is. De nagellak brengt prima aan en is dekkend in twee laagjes. Het is een roze parelmoer nagellak met een duochrome shimmer. De shimmer is blauw naar geel. Daarnaast heb je nog de zilveren parelmoer. Dus afhankelijk van de lichtval is er steeds iets anders op je nagels te zien. Voor nog wat extra sprankel heb ik het de holo topcoat van A England aangebracht.

My first manicure this month was an older polish by Catrice. It’s from the Spectra Light line and I think that it’s from 2018. The polish is easy to use and is fully opaque in two coats. It’s a pink pearlised nail polish with a duochrome shimmer. The shimmer is blue to yellow, but there’s also the silvery pearl finish. So depending on the light, there’s something different showing up on your nails. For more sparkle I added the holo top coat from A England.

Painted Polish Lucky Lilac

Mijn volgende manicure was Lucky Lilac van Painted Polish. Ik draag hier drie laagjes. Dit is een lila base met een champagne kleurige holografische glitter. Met een goede laag top coat was er geen textuur meer, maar bij het verwijderen merk je heel goed dat het glitter is.

My next manicure was Lucky Lilac by Painted Polish. I’m wearing three coats. It’s a lilac base with a champagne coloured holographic glitter. With a thick layer of top coat I had no texture, but during removal you know it’s glitter (so I soaked it off).

Mother’s Day Manicure

En toen was het Moederdag. Meestal kies ik ervoor om iets met bloemen te dragen op moederdag. Dit jaar heb ik een combinatie gemaakt van een skittle en een gestempelde nagel. Op mijn duim en pink draag ik twee laagjes van OPI Lucky, lucky lavender. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger draag ik twee laagjes van Rogue Lacquer Barely Blush. Op mijn ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes van Essie moments to mrs. en een rozenafbeelding van Moyra mini series no 104.

And then it was already Mother’s Day. Usually I chose to wear nail art with a flower theme. This year it’s a combination of a skittle manicure and a stamped accent nail. In my thumb and pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of OPI Lucky lucky lavender. On my pointer and middle finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Rogue Lacquer Barely Blush. On my ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Essie moments to mrs. with a stamped rose image of Moyra mini series no 104.

ILNP Sugar high

In de week na moederdag wisselde ik naar ILNP Suger high en stempelde ik een afbeelding met vlinders op mijn ringvinger. Ik draag twee laagjes van ILNP Sugar high en de afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat nature 069.

In the week after Mother’s Day I changed my manicure to ILNP Sugar high. I added an accent nail with a stamped image of butterflies. I’m wearing two coats of ILNP Sugar high and the image is from KADS stamping plate nature 069.

Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C08 Floral Bouquet

In april heb ik de hele Limited Edition collectie Hop, hop, hooray reloaded gekocht van Catrice. Deze koele roze tint staarde mij al de hele tijd aan en de schattige konijnenoren hielpen uiteraard ook. Ik heb Floral Bouquet heel eenvoudig gedragen en ik vind het een prachtige kleur. Ik draag hier twee laagjes met base en top coat.

In April I bought the full limited edition collection Hop, hop, hooray reloaded by Catrice. This cooler shade of pink was tempting me for some time and the cute rabbit ears helped it too. I wore Floral Bouquet in a very basic way, just two coats with base and top coat. I loved it.

ILNP CEO

Daarna koos ik voor een neutrale manicure met een twist, namelijk ILNP CEO. Het is een rozige neutrale nagellak met holografische flakes en subtiele gouden shimmer. Ik draag hier drie laagjes.

Then I wanted to wear a neutral manicure with a twist. ILNP CEO is a dusty pink neutral with holographic flakes and a subtle gold shimmer. I’m wearing it here in three coats.

Cadillacquer Cradle of Echoes in skittle mani

De laatste mani van de maand is met Cadillacquer Cradle of Echoes. Ik heb begin dit jaar een paar lakken van Cadillacquer gekocht, want ik had dit merk al jaren op mijn wensenlijstje staan om uit te proberen. Deze kleur is erg transparant, maar dat geeft wel alle ruimte aan de flakes die ik heel mooi vind. Op foto’s die ik had opgezocht had ik hele wisselende resultaten in dekkingsgraad gezien. Ik draag hier 4 laagjes op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger. Ik denk dat ik het de volgende keer met een creme nagellak eronder ga dragen. Op mijn duim en ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes Essie seas the day en op mijn pink twee laagjes van een mintgroene stempellak. Daarmee heb ik ook een bloemenafbeelding op mijn ringvinger gezet van KADS stempelplaat Fashion 081.

The last mani of this month is with Cadillacquer Cradle of Echoes. In the beginning of the year I bought my first polishes of Cadillacquer, a brand I have wanted to try for some time. The colour is more transparent than expected, but it gives the flakes room to shine. Before ordering I had looked up swatches and I had seen a lot of variation in the coverage. I’m wearing 4 coats on my pointer and middle finger nails. I think I will give it matching undies with a cream polish when I reach for it again. On my thumb and ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Essie seas the day. And on my pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of a mint green stamping polish. I used this stamping polish also for the floral image on my ring finger nail. The image is from KADS stamping plate Fashion 081.

Deze maand hadden we twee feestdagen, namelijk Pasen en Koningsdag. Altijd leuk om dan wat extra’s op de nagels te dragen in vorm van nail art. Ook de rest van de maand heb ik ook zo op zijn tijd wat nail art gedaan.

With Easter and King’s Day we had two fun holidays this month to do some nail art. I also tried to wear some nail art in between.

Catrice More than Nude translucent effect nail polish 02 Glitter Is The Answer

Ik starte de maand met een neutrale kleur. Deze nagellak van Catrice More than Nude heeft een grovere shimmer en geeft een parelmoerachtig effect zonder dat je sporen van de kwast ziet. Ik draag hier drie laagjes met base en top coat.

I started the month with a neutral colour. This nail polish by Catrice More than Nude has a larger shimmer particle. That gives the polish a pearl effect without visible brush strokes. I’m wearing three coats with base and top coat.

My Easter mani for 2023

Vorig jaar droeg ik met Pasen een nail art met blauwe druifjes. Dit jaar wilde ik iets vergelijkbaars doen. Dus koos ik voor een stempel van een narcis. Als basis draag ik twee laagjes van Catrice 152 Lemon Butter en een laagje ILNP Cake Pop. Zodra ik voor een speciale nagellak een bijpassende basiskleur vindt, zal ik deze ook sparen doordat ik minder laagjes hoef te gebruiken. De afbeelding van het narcisje komst van Dashica stempelplaat SdP-63. Ik stempelde met een groene stempellak van KADS en Twinkled T Saucey.

Last year I wore a nail art with muscari for Easter and this year I wanted something similar. So I chose an image of a daffodil. As base I’m wearing two coats of Catrice 152 Lemon Butter and one coat of ILNP Cake Pop. In regards to my special polishes, like indie and boutique brands, I like to find matching undies. I am very happy with this combination and will be wearing this combination for future mani’s. This way I only need one coat of the special polish. This image of the daffodil comes from Dashica stamping plate SdP-63. I stamped the image with a green stamping polish by KADS and Twinkled T Saucey.

Wildflower Lacquer Polly in my Pocket

Een paar dagen na Pasen werd mijn bestelling van Hypnotic Polish geleverd. Toen ik mijn allereerste Wildflower nagellak zag, wist ik dat ik deze meteen zou dragen. De andere lakken uit deze bestelling zal ik de komende maanden heus aandacht kunnen geven, maar deze wilde ik echt meteen dragen. Ik draag hier drie laagjes met base en top coat. Polly in my Pocket heeft een paarse basis en een shimmer die wisselt tussen roze, oranje en geel. In het potje zag ik ook nog net een randje groen en blauw.

A couple of days after Easter I received my order from Hypnotic Polish. This is my very first Wildflower Lacquer. When I opened my package I knew I wanted to wear it right away. The other polishes from this order will get their share in the love and attention in the coming months, I’m sure about that. But this one, wow. I’m wearing three coats with base and top coat. Polly in my Pocket has a purple base with a strong shimmer that goes between pink, orange and yellow. In the bottle I also spotted some green and blue.

Skittle mani with Essie and Cirque

Skittle mani with Essie need a vacation, Essie beat of the moment, Cirque nail lacquer Crystal Tokyo and Catrice Go Pastel top coat.

Geïnspireerd door een video van somecallmecoco of misschien was het Carolina van Gotaluvpolish, had ik deze nagellakken uitgezocht voor een skittle. Op mijn duim en pink nagel draag ik Essie Need a vacation. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger nagel draag ik Essie Beat of the moment. Op mijn ringvinger nagel draag ik een jelly sandwich met Catrice Go pastel top coat en Cirque Crystal Tokyo. Elke kleur draag ik in drie laagjes. Alleen mijn ringvinger is een laagje meer. Het was erg leuk om met deze verschillende texturen te werken.

Om my index finger and middle finger nail I’m wearing Essie Beat of the moment. On my ring finger I’m wearing a jelly sandwich with Catrice Go pastel top coat and Cirque Crystal Tokyo. I’m wearing the colours in three coats, on my ring finger I’m wearing four coats. It was fun wearing these different textures.

Daarna koos ik er voor om weer tien nagels in dezelfde kleur te dragen, maar wel met wat nail art. Ik draag hier twee lagen van Cuticula Don’t count the candles. Op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger stempelde ik in wit een bloemenpatroon van KADS stempelplaat Flower 052. Uiteraard draag ik ook base en top coat.

Then I chose to wear the same colour on all ten nails, but with some added nail art. I’m wearing two coats of Cuticula Don’t count the candles. On my middle finger nail and ring finger nail I stamped in white a floral pattern from KADS stamping plate Flower 052. Of course I’m also wearing base coat and top coat.

King’s Day mani 2023

En toen waren we alweer aan het einde van de maand aangekomen met Koningsdag! Vorig jaar droeg ik een skittle in rood, wit, blauw en oranje (geen foto van). Dit jaar wilde ik weer Wikkid polish Tangerine dragen. Om te kunnen stempelen met de oranje stempellak die ik heb, koos ik voor essence 23 tangerine ahead! Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink draag ik base coat en twee laagjes van Wikkid polish Tangerine en op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger draag ik base coat en twee laagjes van de essence. De essence nagellak heeft gouden flecks en lijkt wat meer perzik op mijn nagels dan licht oranje. Op deze nagels stempelde ik met oranje stempelnagellak een afbeelding van BornPretty stempelplaat BP-L104. Daarna volgde er een laag top coat.

And now we’ve reached the end of the month with my King’s Day mani! Last year I wore a skittle mani in red, white, blue and orange (no pictures were taken). This year I wanted to rewear Wikkid Polish Tangerine. I also wanted to use my orange stamping polish, so I chose essence 23 tangerine ahead! On my thumb nail, index finger nail and pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of Wikkid polish Tangerine. On my middle finger nail and ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of essence 23 tangerine ahead! De essence nail polish has golden flakes and pulls more peach on my nails than light orange. On these nails I stamped with orange stamping polish an image with crowns from BornPretty stamping plate BP-L104. Everything is worn with base coat and sealed with top coat.

Mijn eerste manicure van maart was weer een van mijn opties voor de Pantone kleur van het jaar: Viva Magenta. Iedere keer als ik een nagellak tegenkom die past bij de beschrijving van Viva Magenta, dan zet ik deze apart. Ik heb inmiddels zo’n selectie staan, dat ik erover denk om ze komende zomer zoveel mogelijk te dragen. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van Essie B’aha moment! met een laagje van essence 07 party princess als accent nagel. Misschien ken je Restored by Polish van YouTube. In een van hun videos van februari kwam essence party princess langs. Een goede reminder om deze weer eens te dragen!

My first manicure of March was another one of my options for Pantone colour of the year: Viva Magenta. Every time when I go through my nail polish and I find an option for Viva Magenta, I set it aside. The selection that I have created this way is that large, that I think I will try to wear them over the summer. Here I’m wearing two coats of Essie B’aha moment! with one coat of essence 07 party princess as accent nail. Maybe you have heard of the YouTube channel Restore by Polish. In one of their videos of februari they mentioned essence party princess. That was a good reminder to wear this topper!

OPI One Heckla of a Color! with toppers

Hierna droeg ik OPI One Heckla of a Color! met twee toppers. Ik bracht eerst twee laagjes aan van de OPI, daarna een laagje aan van Rogue lacquer Kaleidoscope en daarna nog een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust. Ik was erg blij met deze combinatie.

Then I chose to wear OPI One Heckla of a Color! with two toppers. First I painted two coats of the OPI, then one coat of Rogue lacquer Kaleidoscope and then one coat of a China Glaze Fairy Dust. I was very happy with this combination.

Daarna was het bijna St Patrick’s, dus koos ik uiteraard voor groen. Ik had zin in een lichte lentegroen en koos voor essence Save water, drink lime. Helaas had ik nogal ruzie met het kwastje en de kwaliteit van de formule. Nu zijn pastelkleurige nagellakken wel vaker lastiger om netjes aan te brengen. De oplossing vond ik in Sally Hansen Unicorn Top Coat. Ik heb daar twee laagjes van aangebracht. Het gaf een heel mooi effect waarbij vooral groen en roze als kleuren zichtbaar waren.

Then St. Patrick’s was almost there, so I wanted to wear green. I chose essence Save water, drink lime, because it’s a nice spring green. Sadly the formula was not the best and so was the brush. I struggled to get an even application. I found the solution in two coats of Sally Hansen Unicorn Top Coat. I loved the shifting shimmer that was mostly green and pink.

ILNP Evermore

Daarna droeg ik ILNP Evermore. Dit is een mauvekleurige ultraholo nagellak met klein beetje metalen flakes. In de zon is het echt mega holografisch. Uit de zon zorgen de kleine flakes voor een mooi effect. Hier zie je twee laagjes met top coat.

Then I wore ILNP Evermore. This is a pinky mauve ultra holographic nail polish with a tiny sprinkling of metallic flakes. In the sun it’s really holographic. In the shade it’s still interesting to look at with the small flakes. Here I’m wearing two coats with top coat.

KBShimmer I’d pick you with KBShimmer Out of Sequins (R)

Mijn laatste mani van maart was deze combinatie van KBShimmer. Dit voelde al heerlijk lente achtig. I’d pick you is een roze nagellak met verschillende kleuren flakes. Ik draag twee laagjes. Daarover heb ik een laagje Out of Sequins aangebracht, dat is een topper met glitters die reflecteren in direct licht (zoals een zaklamp). In gewoon licht geven ze een fijne twinkel.

My final mani of March was this combination of polishes by KBShimmer. This felt like spring to me. I’d pick you is an orchid pink nail polish with different kind of flakes. I’m wearing two coats. On top I wore one coat of Out of Sequins, it’s a topper with reflective glitters. These glitters react to direct light (like a flash light) like traffic signs in car lights at night. In normal light they have a fun twinkle.

Februari is de maand voor Valentijns nagels. Ik zal maar meteen laten zien wat ik deze maand heb gedragen.

Catrice More Than Nude 12 Glowing Rose with topper and accent nail

Mijn eerste manicure van de maand is met een nieuwe nagellak van Catrice. Ik heb meteen een online bestelling geplaatst voor zes lakken, toen ik de nieuwe lente/zomer collectie zag voor 2023. Een van de nieuwe lakken die ik heb besteld is Catrice ICONails 147 Glitter N’Rosé. Deze lak is een jelly (transparant, niet dekkend) in een warme roze tint met gouden flakes. Hij deed mij denken aan Catrice More Than Nude 12 Glowing Rose. Dit is een warmroze lak met gouden shimmer. Ik besloot uiteindelijk eerst twee laagjes van Glowing Rose aan te brengen met daarover een laagje Glitter N’Rosé. Als accent nagel viste ik twee hartjes uit Revlon Hearts of Gold FX nadat ik eerst een laagje van de fijne glitters had aangebracht. De hartjes zijn holografisch, wat vooral op de foto in het potje zichtbaar is.

My first manicure of the month is with a new polish by Catrice. When I saw the new spring/summer collection for 2023, I immediately ordered six polishes online. One of the new polishes I ordered is Catrice ICONails 147 Glitter N’Rosé. This is a warm pink jelly (transparent nail polish) with gold flakes. It reminded me of Catrice More Than Nude 12 Glowing Rose. That is also a sheer warm pink polish, but this time with a gold shimmer. In the end I painted two coats of Glowing Rose, then one coat of Glitter N’Rosé. As accent nail I painted one coat of Revlon Hearts of Gold FX and fished for two big hearts. The hearts are very holographic, on the picture it’s mostly seen in the bottle.

Catrice ICONails 56 Purple Is The Best Policy and DA Nails 103 Dazzling Purple

Dit is de eerste manicure van de maand die gekozen is vanwege de kleur van een wintertrui van mij. Later heb ik dat nog een keer gedaan. Deze trui is licht en donker paars. Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pinknagel bracht ik twee laagjes aan van Catrice ICONails 56 Purple Is The Best Policy. Op mijn middelvinger en ringvingernagel bracht ik twee laagjes aan van DA Nails 103 Dazzling Purple. Het leuke van deze DA nagellak zijn de glitters, waardoor het lijkt op een indie nagellak. De lak heeft zilveren glitters en fijne blauwe glitters. Als accent nagel stempelde ik nog een rij hartjes in zilver op mijn ringvingernagel. De hartjes komen van stempelplaat KADS Nature 069.

This is the first manicure this month that was inspired by a winter knit sweater. I repeated it for another sweater later this month. This inspiration sweater is light to dark purple. On my thumb nail, pointer finger nail and pinky I wore two coats of Catrice ICONails 56 Purple Is The Best Policy. And on my middle finger nail and ring finger nail I wore two coats of DA Nails 103 Dazzling Purple. The fun thing about this polish from the DA drugstore (a local drugstore chain) is that it reminded me of some indie polishes I’ve seen online. The polish has silver hex glitters and small blue glitters. As accent nail I stamped silver hearts. The hearts come from stamping plate KADS Nature 069.

Barry M limited edition nail paint Cherish

Manlief bracht vorig jaar voor mij een nagellak mee uit Londen, waar hij naartoe was gegaan voor een zakenreis. Vanwege de roze kleur, wist ik meteen dat ik deze nagellak zou bewaren voor Valentijnsdag. Ik draag twee laagjes. Ook al zie ik het nergens online, was de nagellak in de volle zon licht holografisch. Als accent nagel heb ik een nagelfolie aangebracht met regenboog hartjes met holografische uitlijn en stippen.

Dear Husband was on a business trip last year to London and surprised me on his return with this nail polish. With this shade of pink and the name, I knew I wanted to safe this one for Valentines Day to wear. I’m wearing two coats. Even though I didn’t see it described as holographic online, it did throw some rainbow sparkles in bright sun light. As accent nail I added a nail foil with rainbow hearts with holographic outline and dots.

Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder with Rimmel 019 Disco Diva

Ook al was Valentijnsdag geweest, ik was er nog niet helemaal klaar mee. Vanwege de naam had ik ook nog Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder klaargezet voor deze maand met als accent nagel de glitter van Rimmel 019 Disco Diva. De Rimmel glitter topper bestaat uit kleine zilveren holografische glitters en grotere roze metallic glitters. Ik draag twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder.

Even though Valentines Day had passed, I still had one polish left that I wanted to wear. Because of the name I had selected Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder for this month. I topped it with glitter from Rimmel 019 Disco Diva. The Rimmel glitter topper has small silver holographic glitters and larger pink metallic hex glitters. I’m wearing two coats of Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer Are You Eating Beans Again?

Afgelopen Kerst kreeg ik mijn eerste Bee’s Knees Lacquer nagellakken. Ik vond dat het tijd werd om er een te gaan dragen. Ik koos voor Are You Eating Beans Again? Dit is een grijze/taupe kleurige lak met een rode shimmer die naar groen shift en holografische flakes. Ik draag twee laagjes. Mijn eerste ervaring met BKL was erg positief. Ik droeg deze nagellak voor een volle week.

Last Christmas I received my first Bee’s Knees Lacquer nail polishes. It was time to wear the first one. I chose Are You Eating Beans Again? It’s a Lion sibling polish with a gray/taupe coloured base with red to green shifting shimmer and holographic flakes. I’m wearing two coats. My first experience with BKL was very positive. I wore this polish for a full week.

China Glaze She’s so extra terrestrial

En andere favoriete wintertrui van mij is blauwgroen. China Glaze She’s so extra terrestrial is een perfecte match qua kleur. Deze nagellak is holografisch en het was zonnig toen ik mijn nagels net gelakt had. Dus ik kan je de holo op de foto laten zien. Ik draag twee laagjes.

Another favourite winter sweater is teal. China Glaze She’s so extra terrestrial is a perfect match. This nail polish is very holographic and the sun was out when I had just painted my nails. So I can show you the holo on the picture. I’m wearing two coats.

Polishes I wore in January 2023

De eerste maand van het nieuwe jaar heb ik nagedacht over blog en nagellak. Mijn goede voornemens zijn:
– low buy,
– seizoensgebonden selecties maken,
– toppers gebruiken en
– gewoon mijn collectie gebruiken!
De low buy is vanwege opslagruimte. Ik heb nu meer dan 500 nagellakken en niet veel ruimte voor meer. Door seizoensgebonden selecties hoop ik meer van mijn collectie te gebruiken, omdat ik nogal snel neig naar steeds dezelfde nagellakken te gebruiken. Ik heb mijn toppers nu allemaal bij elkaar gezet, zodat het makkelijker is deze te gebruiken. En het laatste voornemen is om te genieten. Soms is er misplaatste zuinigheid, maar een potje nagellak is heus niet zo snel op. En indrogen en verkleuren zijn serieuze risico’s. Qua blog blijf ik dit jaar mijn best doen om een maandelijks post te schrijven over de lakken die ik heb gedragen.

The first month of the new year is a good moment to reflect on blog and nail polish. I have formulated the following resolutions:
– low buy,
– seasonal selections,
– use the toppers and
– just use the collection!
The low buy is necessary for storage reasons. I have over 500 polishes now and not much space for more. I hope by using seasonal selections I’ll wear a wider range of polishes from my collection, because I tend to wear the same favourites over and over. I have put my toppers together on the same place, so it’s easier to use them. And the last one is added so I just learn to enjoy the collection. I sometimes suffer from an unneeded frugality, but a bottle of nail polish is not used up so quickly. On the other hand drying up and discolouration are larger risks. For the blog I have the intention to keep writing a monthly post about the polishes I wore.

Essie haute in the heat

Ik startte het jaar met een dieproze nagellak van Essie. De Pantone kleur van 2023 heet Viva Magenta. Ik zou het omschrijven als een dieproze kleur die richting rood gaat. Aangezien ik niet graag echt rode nagellak draag, maar meestal voor roze-rood ga, heb ik een aardige selectie tevoorschijn gehaald die ik kan gebruiken voor Viva Magenta. Deze opties heb ik gevonden naast Essie haute in the heat: Essie b’aha moment, Essie watermelon, Essie bachelorette bash, OPI Aurora Berry-alis, ILNP play date, Cirque Tourmaline. Ik ben van plan deze gedurende het jaar te dragen. Als eerste heb ik Essie haute in the heat gekozen om te dragen. Ik draag hier twee laagjes met base coat en top coat.

I started the year with a deep pink nail polish by Essie. It was my first pick for Viva Magenta, Pantone’s colour of the year for 2023. Since I don’t really like wearing true reds, I have a lot of deep pink into red polishes. Other options in my collection are Essie b’aha moment, Essie watermelon, Essie bachelorette bash, OPI Aurora Berry-alis, ILNP play date, Cirque Tourmaline. I hope to wear the other polishes during this year. My first pick is Essie haute in the heat. Here I’m wearing two coats with base coat and top coat.

Catrice More Than Nude nail polish 10 Cloudy Illusion with toppers

Mijn plan voor januari was om warme, winterse en op sneeuw geïnspireerde nagellakken te dragen. Deze combinatie van toppers over Catrice Cloudy Illusion is een “dupe the vibe” van een indy nagellak. Ik draag hier base coat, twee laagjes van Catrice Cloudy Illusions, een laagje Catrice ICONails 62 I Love Being Yours, een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust en top coat. Dit was een hele geslaagde combinatie en ik heb het een week gedragen!

My plan for January was to wear cozy, wintery and snow inspired nail polishes. The combination of toppers over Catrice Cloudy Illusion is inspired as a “dupe the vibe” of an indy nail polish. I’m wearing base coat, two coats of Catrice Cloudy Illusion, one coat of Catrice ICONails 62 I Love Being Yours, one coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust and top coat. I was very happy with the result and wore it for a week!

Wikkid Philosopher’s Stone (Magnetic)

Deze combinatie van warme winterkleuren heb ik gekozen om meteen mijn angst om mooie lakken te gebruiken aan te pakken. Ik draag op mijn middelste twee vingers Wikkid polish Philosopher’s Stone (Magnetic) en op de andere nagels Catrice mini nail lacquer C02 Shiny Lilac Nails. Alles in twee laagjes met base coat en top coat. De mini van Catrice is net ietsje lichter dan Essie merino cool, waar ik een normale maat van heb. En Wikkid polish is een indy merk dat helaas niet meer bestaat.

This combination of cozy winter colours was picked to tackle my fear of using certain polishes. On my middle fingers I wear Wikkid Philosopher’s Stone (Magnetic) and on my other fingers Catrice mini nail lacquer C02 Shiny Lilac Nails. Everything is in two coats with base coat and top coat. The mini nail polish of Catrice is just a tad lighter than Essie merino cool, that I have in a normal sized bottle. And Wikkid polish is an indy nail polish brand that no longer exists.

Daarna droeg ik weer een combinatie met een topper. Deze topper is nieuw in mijn collectie, goede reden om meteen te dragen! Ik draag twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 73 I Have A Blush On You met een laagje Sally Hansen Miracle top coat 105 Crystal Top Coat en uiteraard ook base coat en top coat.

Then I went on with another combination with a topper. This topper is relatively new to my collection, all the more a good reason to wear! I’m wearing two coats of Catrice ICONails 73 I Have A Blush On You with one coat of Sally Hansen Miracle top coat 105 Crystal Top Coat and also base coat and top coat.

A England Waltz Of The Flowers

A England Waltz Of The Flowers is een nagellak die ik ooit alleen had gebruikt voor een swatch. Tijd om eens te dragen! Waltz Of The Flowers is een grijze holografische nagellak met een paars naar roze duo chroom shimmer. Ik draag twee laagjes met base coat en top coat.

A England Waltz Of The Flowers is one of the many nail polishes that I had only swatched and never worn. Time to change that! A England Waltz Of The Flowers is a grey holographic nail polish with a purple to pink duo chrome shimmer. I’m wearing two coats with base coat and top coat.

Essie Gel Couture closing night with topper

De laatste kleur voor januari werd Essie Gel Couture closing night. Doordat het weer in januari vooral grijs en bewolkt was geweest, vond ik dit wel een passende keuze. Closing night is een grijze nagellak met een blauwe shimmer. Op de foto komt het wat blauwer over. Ik draag twee laagjes met een topper van Wikkid met fijne holografische glitters en multichroom flakes. Uiteraard ook weer met base coat en top coat.

The last colour I wore for January was Essie Gel Couture closing night. January was mostly overcast and cloudy, so this made sense to me. Closing night is a grey polish with a blue shimmer. It shows more blue in the picture. I’m wearing two coats with the Wikkid topper with small holographic glitters and multichrome flakes. Of course with base coat and top coat.

Allereerst een Gelukkig Nieuwjaar! En dan gaan we nu kijken naar de lakken die ik heb gedragen in december. Deze maand wilde ik kleur, glitter en accent nagels dragen. En dat is gelukt!

First a Happy New Year! Now we will look at the polishes I wore for December. This month I wanted to wear colour, glitter and accent nails with some nail art. And I succeeded!

Catrice ICONails 110 Grapeful with accent nail

Ik begon december met paars. Mijn favoriete trui heeft paars erin en daarom koos ik deze nagellak van Catrice. Ik draag twee laagjes met base en top coat. Als accentnagel deed ik een laagje van Hema nagellak 952 Pretend Purple. Dit is een dekkende microflakie nagellak in paars en een groengouden shift. Om het nog wat meer onderscheid te geven, stempelde ik er een dubbelpatroon over in goud. Maar het verstopte de mooie lak van Hema iets te veel.

I started December with purple. My favourite knit sweater has purple in it, so that’s why I chose this polish by Catrice. I’m wearing two coats with base and top coat. As accent nail I added a layer of Hema nail polish 952 Pretend Purple. It’s a full cover microflakie nail polish in purple with a green golden shift to it. To make the accent nail more visible, I stamped a bubble pattern in gold on top. But that hided the pretty nail polish by Hema a bit to much.

Wikkid polish Maria with Catrice Gold Effect Nail polish 03 Magical Allure

Toen kwamen de eerste kerstfeest activiteiten er al aan. Ik koos voor Wikkid polish Maria, een donkere wijnrode nagellak met flakes. Als accentnagel koos ik voor Catrice Gold Effect Nail polish 03 Magical Allure en stempelde er een sterrenpatroon over met KADS min 009 met Catrice ICONails 80 Cherry Bite. Ik draag alles in twee laagjes met base en top coat.

And then the first Christmas festivities started. For the first one(s) I chose Wikkid polish Maria, a deep whine red nail polish with flakes. As accent nail I chose Catrice Gold Effect Nail polish 03 Magical Allure and I stamped a star pattern on top with KADS min 009 and Catrice ICONails 80 Cherry Bite. I’m wearing everything in two coats with base and top coat.

Orly Whispered Lore

Daarna volgde er weer een week met kerstfeest activiteiten. Orly Whispered Lore is een goudgroene shimmer nagellak, die afhankelijk van de lichtval meer goud of meer groen toont. Ik draag twee laagjes met base en top coat. Als accentnagel stempelde ik kerstbomen, waarover ik een klein beetje Gold Dust van Wikkid polish deed.

Then followed another week with Christmas festivities. Orly Whispered Lore is a golden green shimmer nail polish, that depending on the light leans more gold or more green. I’m wearing two coats with base and top coat. As accent nail I stamped these Christmas trees and on top of the trees I added a little Gold Dust by Wikkid polish.

Catrice ICONails 120 Pink Clay with Morgan Taylor Coming Up Crystal

En dan zijn we aangekomen bij Kerst nagels. Al een tijdje (jaren?) geleden, heb ik een inspiratie foto opgeslagen van een witte inrichting met roze accenten met een witte glitter kerstboom met roze versiering. Dit jaar ben ik er eindelijk aan toegekomen om het idee te vertalen in een kerst nail art. Als eerste heb ik na de base coat 1 laag (ja 1!) aangebracht van Pink Clay. Daarna heb ik een laagje Coming Up Crystal gedaan. Coming Up Crystal is bestaat uit zilveren holografische glitters en gouden shimmer in een lichtroze base. Daarna heb ik als accent nagel roze kerstballen gemaakt via reverse stamping. Ik heb ze van stempelplaat BM-XL215 (nu Maniology). Ik stempelde met Psycho Pink van Hit the bottle nail polish en ik kleurde ze in met Essie need a vacation.

Now we’ve arrived at my Christmas mani. Some time (years?) ago, I saved an inspiration picture of a white interior with pink accessories and a white glittery Christmas tree with pink decoration. This year I finally came around to translate it to a nail art. After base coat I painted one coat of Pink Clay and over that one coat of Coming Up Crystal. Coming Up Crystal has silver holographic glitters and golden shimmer in a light pink base. As accent nail I created these pink Christmas balls through reverse steaming. They are from stamping plate BM-XL215 (now Maniology). I stamped them with Psycho Pink by Hit the bottle nail polish and I coloured them in with Essie need a vacation.

KBShimmer Fizz The Season

Voor Oudejaarsavond droeg ik KBShimmer Fizz The Season. Omdat ik een gladde finish wilde, gebruikte ik een Ridge Filling base coat en tijdens het drogen gebeurde iets vreemds. Er ontstonden allemaal kleine bultjes. Ik denk dat de nagellak en base coat elkaar niet zo leuk vonden. Maar ik had geen tijd om er iets anders van te maken. Ondanks dat het niet glad was uitgevallen, was de holo en de shimmer nog steeds heel mooi. Als accent nagel tekende ik zelf met een dun nail art penseel wat krullen met DA Nails 045 Bronzed Up.

For New Years Eve I wore KBShimmer Fizz The Season. Because I wanted a smooth finish, I used a Ridge Filling base coat. When the polish was drying something strange happened. A lot of small little bumps started to appear. I think my base coat and nail polish didn’t play nice with each other. I didn’t have time to change, so I just wore it as it turned out. The holo and the shimmer were still very beautiful. As accent nail I painted some curls myself with a thin nail art brush and DA Nails 045 Bronzed Up.

Masura 1500 An ingot of tenderness

Ik begon de maand met een neutrale kleur waar iets extra’s mee was. Namelijk in deze Masura nagellak zijn gouden flakes toegevoegd. Ik draag hier drie laagjes met base en top coat.

I started the month with a neutral that had something extra. This Masura polish has added gold flakes. I’m wearing three coats with base and top coat.

Deze combinatie van nagellakken heb ik vorig jaar ook gedragen. Maar nu dan een keertje met foto’s en ook zichtbaar op de blog. Als basis draag ik twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 85 Every Sparkle Happens For A Reason. Daarover draag ik twee toppers namelijk KBShimmer Raking it in en Wikkid polish Gold Dust. Van beide 1 laagje. Deze combinatie is geïnspireerd door een indie nagellak. Ik weet alleen niet meer precies welke nagellak het was en het is eerder een “dupe the vibe”. Als accent nagel heb ik een afbeelding gestempeld van stempelplaat KADS Nature 056 met een bruine stempellak van KADS. Ik was er weer net zo blij mee als vorig jaar en droeg het meer dan een week.

This is a combination of polishes I have also worn last year in the fall. This time I took pictures and am showing it on the blog. The base is two coats of Catrice ICONails 85 Every Sparkle Happens For A Reason. On top I’m wearing two toppers (one layer of each) namely KBShimmer Raking it in and Wikkid polish Gold Dust. This combination is inspired by an indie polish I saw last year. I no longer remember the name and it’s more a “dupe the vibe”. As accent nail I stamped an image from KADS Nature 056 with a brown stamping polish from KADS. I was just as happy as last year with this mani. I wore it for just over a week (8 days).

Daarna koos ik voor Catrice ICONails Taupe League. Ik draag twee laagjes met base en top coat. Op de accent nagel heb ik een laagje Rogue Lacquer Kaleidoscope aan gebracht en een afbeelding gestempeld van stempelplaat KADS Nature 019. Daarvoor gebruikte ik Hit the bottle stempellak in From beyond the greige.

Then I chose Catrice ICONails Taupe League. I’m wearing two coats with base and top coat. As accent nail I wore a layer of Rogue Lacquer Kaleidoscope and an image stamped from KADS Nature 019. I stamped with Hit the bottle From beyond the greige.

L’Oreal 118 Madeleine Sucrée

Daarna had ik weer even zin in helemaal neutrale nagels. Daarvoor koos ik L’Oreal Madeleine Sucrée. Ik draag twee laagjes met top en base coat.

Then I was in the mood for neutral nails. I chose L’Oreal Madeleine Sucrée. I’m wearing two coats with top and base coat.

A England The London Scene

Ondanks dat we al diep in November waren, waren de bomen nog steeds niet kaal. Daarom koos ik nog een keer voor een accentnagel met blaadjes. Als basis draag ik een grijze holografische nagellak van A England in twee laagjes. Het heet The London Scene. De afbeelding komt van stempelplaat KADS Nature 019 en is met zwarte stempellak gedaan.

It was already nearing the end of November and the trees were still not bare. So I chose an accent nail with a fall leave image for the last time. The base is A England The London Scene, a grey holographic nail polish. I’m wearing two coats with base and top coat. The image is from KADS Nature 019 and I stamped with a black stamping polish.

China Glaze Dope Taupe with accent nail

Mijn laatste mani van deze maand is China Glaze Dope Taupe. Ik moet bekennen dat het jaren geleden is dat ik deze nagellak heb gedragen. Ik zag een video langs komen over “cosy nail colours” en was geïnspireerd om hem weer eens op te doen. Ik draag twee laagjes met base en top coat Vanwege het aankomende Sinterklaasfeest draag ik een accent nagel met OPI Muppets World Tour en een stempel van Dashica Nails 007 met een zilveren stempellak.

My final mani of this month is with China Glaze Dope Taupe. I have to confess that I hadn’t worn this polish in years. I was inspired to look it up after watching a video about cosy nail colours. I’m wearing two coats with base and top coat. It’s getting close to the Saint Nicholas celebrations, so I added an accent nail with OPI Muppets World Tour and a stamped image from Dashica Nails 007. I used a silver stamping polish.

Oktober is voorbij gevlogen. Tijd om jullie te laten zien welke nagellakken ik heb gedragen.

October flew by fast. It’s already time to show you the polishes I wore.

Catrice ICONails Gel Lacquer 92 Nude Not Prude

Ik eindigde september met donkergroene nagellak en moest even een paar dagen “neutraliseren” voordat ik wist welke kleur ik wilde dragen. Dat deed ik met Nude Not Prude van Catrice. Ik draag twee laagjes over base coat met top coat. Ik droeg het maar een paar dagen.

I ended September with dark green polish and I needed something as a neutraliser before I could pick a new colour. I chose Nude Not Prude from Catrice for that job. I’m wearing two coats with base coat and top coat. I only wore it for a couple of days.

Masura 1323 Fluffy Plaid with fall accent nail

Ik koos voor Masura Fluffy Plaid als mijn volgende kleur. Het is een taupe kleur (grijs/paars/bruine kleur afhankelijk van de lichtval) met flakies en wat holografische fijne glitter. Op mijn ringvinger (beide handen) plaatste ik een reversed stamped afbeelding van een paddenstoel. De afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat ZOO 013. Ik stempelde met zwart en ik kleurde het in met Essie Gel Couture Sew Me (steel), DA Nails 078 10 Shades of Grey (stippen en sporen) en OPI Now Museum, Now You Don’t (hoed). Ik was superblij met hoe het uitpakte en heb dit een volle week gedragen.

I chose Masura Fluffy Plaid as my next colour. I would describe it as a taupe colour. Depending on the lighting it pulls more grey or purple or brown. It has a lot of flakes and a sprinkle of holographic fine glitter. On my ring finger (both hands) I placed a reversed stamped image of a mushroom. The image is from KADS stamping plate ZOO 013. I stamped with black and I coloured it in with Essie Gel Couture Sew Me (stalk), DA Nails 078 10 Shades of Grey (scales and gills) and OPI Now Museum, Now You Don’t (cap). I was super happy with the results and wore it for a full week.

Orly Epix Hillside Hideout

Deze lak had ik al een paar jaar niet meer gedragen. En hij was weer prachtig. Ik draag hier drie dunne laagjes met base coat en top coat. Ook deze lak droeg ik een week.

I hadn’t worn this polish in a couple of years. And it wore beautifully again. I’m wearing three thin coats with base and top coat. I wore this mani also for a week.

Essie mani thanks

De bladeren van de berkenbomen bij ons in de buurt verkleurden naar een lichtgouden gele kleur. Deze nagellak van Essie uit mijn collectie paste er het beste bij. Ik draag twee laagjes met base en top coat. Ik droeg dit een paar dagen.

The leaves of the birch trees in our area are changing to a light golden yellow. This polish of Essie that I have in my collection was the best match. I’m wearing two coats with base and top coat. I only wore it for a couple of days.

Daarna wilde ik aandacht geven aan Pinktober, ook al post ik niet meer op instagram (op dit moment). Daarvoor koos ik een roze nagellak van Catrice en deed er twee verschillende toppers overheen. Eerst deed ik een laagje Catrice Galactic Glow 02 Enchanted By Prismatic Spell en daarna een laagje van Wikkid polish Star Dust. Dit was zo mooi in de zon! Wederom droeg ik dit maar een paar dagen.

Then I wanted to give some attention to Pinktober, even though I do not post on Instagram (at the moment). I chose a pink polish from Catrice and added two toppers. First a coat of Catrice Galactic Glow 02 Enchanted By Prismatic Spell and then a coat of Wikkid polish Star Dust. Is was so beautiful in the sun. Again I only wore this for a couple of days.

Daarna ging ik verder met een andere roze nagellak: Masura Cotton Candy. Ik draag hier drie dunne laagjes met base en top coat. Deze nagellak heeft flakes en fijne holo glitters. Weer een hele mooie nagellak. Ik droeg deze een dag of vier.

I continued the theme with another pink nail polish: Masura Cotton Candy. I’m wearing three thin coats with base and top coat. This polish has flakes and small holo glitters. Another beauty! I wore this for about four days.

Essie Gel Couture sequ in the know

Mijn laatste lak van deze maand is een metallic van Essie Gel couture. De nagellak is koperkleurig met een roze shift. Essie beschrijft deze kleur als een ‘rosy pink metallic’. Ik draag drie laagjes met base en top coat. Deze nagellak draag ik al bijna een week en zit nog steeds op mijn nagels nu ik dit typ.

My final polish of the month is a metallic by Essie Gel couture. I would describe this polish as a shade of copper with a pink shift. Essie describes this colour as a ‘rosy pink metallic’. I’m wearing three coats with base and top coat. I’m wearing this polish for almost a week now and it’s still on my nails as I type this blog post.

Deze maand logeerde de hond van mijn ouders een tijdje bij ons. En wie kon weten dat een jonge enthousiaste hond zo ruw voor mijn handen zou zijn? Mijn nagellak chipte veel sneller. Nu mijn ouders weer terug zijn van vakantie, hoop ik dat ik weer terug kan naar het dragen van mijn nagellak voor een week.

This month we had the dog of my parents stay with us for a little over a week. And who knew that a young and enthusiastic dog could be so rough for my nail polish? My polish chipped much sooner. My parents are back from their holiday, so I hope I can go back to weekly manicures.

Catrice ICONails 122 Confidence Booster and Wikkid Polish Beguiled

Ik begon de maand met roze nagels. Ik draag hier twee laagjes Catrice ICONails 122 Confidence Booster en een laagje Wikkid Polish Beguiled. Beguiled was origineel een Glow in the dark nagellak. Maar nu dat effect het niet meer doet, draag ik het graag als topper. Helaas bestaat Wikkid Polish niet meer, maar ik draag de lakken nog graag.

I started the month with pink nails. Here I’m wearing two coats of Catrice ICONails 122 Confidence Booster and one coat of Wikkid Polish Beguiled. Beguiled was originally a Glow in the dark polish. That effect is no longer working and now I love wearing it as a topper. Sadly Wikkid Polish is no longer in business, but I still love wearing their polishes.

Catrice ICONails 107 Peach Me with Catrice Galactic Glow 04 Fast As Lightning

Daarna koos ik voor een andere combinatie met een topper. Dit zijn twee laagjes Catrice ICONails 107 Peach Me met 1 laagje Catrice Galactic Glow 04 Fast As Lightning.

Then it was time for another combination with a topper. Here are two coats of Catrice ICONails 107 Peach Me with one coat of Catrice Galactic Glow 04 Fast As Lightning.

ILNP Riley

Daarna koos ik ILNP Riley vanwege een prachtige avondlucht. Ik vond dat deze kleur er het beste bij paste. Ik draag hier drie laagjes.

Then I picked ILNP Riley, after seeing a beautiful sunset. This colour just matched it. I’m wearing three coats.

Toen kwam er een koude regenachtige week. Tijd voor een echte herfstkleur. Ik draag twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 106 Olives And Wine. Ik stempelde er een wel een bloemig accent op.

Then a cold and rainy week followed. Time for a deeper autumnal colour. I’m wearing two coats of Catrice ICONails 106 Olives And Wine. I added a stamped accent nail.

Ik had deze maand veel geluk, want elke manicure kon ik een week dragen.

I was lucky this month, because I could wear each manicure for a full week.
