Voor mij is de zonnige start van het najaar een zegen geweest. Ieder jaar heb ik last van de winterdip. De wereld krijgt een grijze waas, mijn energie verdwijnt, en de winter lijkt eindeloos. Tot in het voorjaar de langere en zonnigere dagen de waas weer oplichten, de kleuren terugkomen en mijn energiepeil ook weer omhoog gaat.
Omdat ik dit ieder jaar heb, zit ik het niet lijdzaam uit. Ik maak gebruik van een plan van best practices om goed het seizoen door te komen. Deze wil ik met jullie delen. Als je ook last hebt van de winterdip, hoop ik dat het jou ook kan helpen. Hier zijn mijn zes tips.
It’s been a blessing that last October was so sunny. Every year I suffer from the winter blues. The world gets covered behind a grey veil, my energy is lacking and the winter seems without end. Until in Spring the longer days en stronger sun bring back the colours and let me feel more energetic.
Because I suffer from this every year, I don’t wait passively for Spring. I have created my own plan of best practices to get me through this season. I want to share them with you. If you also suffer from the winter blues, I hope these six tips can help you.
Mijn 6 tips bij de winterdip
Nummer 1: Ga als het zonnig is (wat minder vaak voorkomt helaas), er bewust even in zitten. Als het buiten niet lukt, dan doe ik het achter een raam;
Nummer 2: ’s Ochtends eet ik mijn ontbijt achter een daglichtlamp. Het helpt mij om kort na het opstaan achter een daglichtlamp te zitten;
Nummer 3: Doe toch ’s avonds de leuke dingen. Zeg niet overal nee op omdat je er de energie niet voor denkt te hebben. Van leuke dingen krijg je ook energie;
Nummer 4: Houd een vast bedtijd ritueel aan. Ga ongeveer om dezelfde tijd naar bed. Begin niet aan een winterslaap, ook al is dat heel verleidelijk;
Nummer 5: Sport regelmatig (heeft geen uitleg nodig toch?);
Nummer 6: Vergeet je groente en fruit niet. Eet niet alleen maar koolhydraten en suiker, wat mijn lijf dan lijkt te wensen. Om het mijzelf op dat vlak makkelijker te maken, maak ik groente-fruit smoothies. Dan heb ik in 1 keer alle goeds naar binnen!
My 6 tips for the winter blues
Number 1: If it is sunny for a moment (and those moments are scarce), choose to bask yourself in the sunshine. If you can’t do it outside, do it behind a window;
Number 2: Eat your breakfast behind a daylight lamp. It helps me a lot to sit behind a daylight lamp shortly after getting out of bed;
Number 3: Continue to go out at night for fun time. Don’t cancel everything because you don’t feel the energy for it. Doing fun things also keeps your mood up and gives energy;
Number 4: Keep approximately the same bed time and follow the same bed time ritual. Don’t start a winter sleep, even though it is tempting;
Number 5: Work out regularly (a no-brainer right?);
Number 6: Don’t forget your vegetables and fruit. My body craves carbs and sugar in this time of the year. To make it easy for myself I make smoothies with fruit and veggies. In one go I have all the good stuff!
Deze lange inleiding is nodig, omdat ik mijn nail art hetzelfde verhaal wilde laten vertellen. Ik heb als basis twee tinten grijs gekozen en er parapluutjes opgezet. Deze parapluutjes staan symbool voor de best practices. Als ik deze goed toepas, is de winterdip lichter en dragelijker.
This long introduction brings me to the nail art of today. I wanted it to tell the story of the winterblues with two shades of grey. I stamped decals with umbrellas on the lighter grey. The umbrellas symbolise the best practices. If I follow my own tips like a good girl, the winter blues are more bearable.
