Wat doe je met de kleuren geel, grijs en bruin dacht ik toen ik de nieuwe opdracht van When Colours Collide las. Zonnebloemen? Ik ging mijn stempelplaten door en kwam een grafische bloemenpatroon tegen. Dit heb ik er van gemaakt. What to do with Yellow, Grey and Brown were my thoughts when I read the new challenge of When Colours Collide. Sun flowers maybe? I searched my stamping plates and found a graphic art inspired floral pattern. This is what I made. Ik heb mijn duim en pink bruin gelakt en de overige vingers geel. Op de gele nagels heb ik met grijze stempellak een grafisch bloemenpatroon gestempeld. In het centrum van de bloemen heb ik met een dotting tool bruine stippen gezet. Deze ronde van When Colours Collide is met de kleuren Turquoise, Geel en Roze. De admins wilden voor een 80s vibe gaan en ik heb mijn best gedaan daarmee iets te maken. This time with When Colours Collide it’s the colours Turquoise, Yellow and Pink. The admins wanted to create an 80s vibe and I tried to make a design to keep with the theme. Ik heb twee verschillende stempelplaten gebruikt voor dit ontwerp. Het gele vlak heb ik namelijk ook gestempeld. I used two different stamping plates for this design. I also stamped the yellow part. Deze week draag ik een nail art die ik heb gemaakt met drie verschillende lila nagellakken van Catrice. Gewoon omdat ik zin had in pastels. Waarschijnlijk ook doordat ik de hele tijd de warme staat van Masura Jacaranda Lace heb gezien tijdens de hittegolf en een beetje meer kleur wilde, maar ook weer niet te veel. Begrijp je mij nog? And probably also because I was wearing Masura Jacaranda Lace during a heatwave and wanted a little more colour then the warm state of that thermal polish, but also not too much. Deze keer was het thema bij When Colours Collide om nail art te maken in negative space stijl in het wit. Negative space betekent dat de natuurlijke nagel een onderdeel is van het ontwerp. This time with When Colours Collide the theme was negative space in white only. Negative space nail art is a style where the natural nail is part of the design. Ik had een stempelplaat uitgekozen waarbij ik allerlei idee had, maar eenmaal begonnen ging de stempelplaat met mijn idee aan de haal. Ik weet niet of hier mensen zijn die ik begrijp wat ik hiermee bedoel. In ieder geval het resultaat was niet wat ik dacht te maken, maar wel best leuk. I chose a stamping plate based on the ideas I had for this design. But when I started making this nail art the stamping plate ran with my initial plan and I ended with something completely different. Op 5 mei vieren we dat we in Nederland in vrijheid leven. Dit vieren volgt na de herdenking op 4 mei, waarbij we stilstaan bij alle slachtoffers van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en van oorlogssituaties en vredesmissies nadien. Volgend jaar vieren we dat we 75 jaar in vrijheid leven. Maar ik wil dit jaar alvast wat aandacht schenken aan Bevrijdingsdag. De vanzelfsprekendheid waarbij wij onze vrijheid beleven, is niet overal op de wereld gelijk. Er is het afgelopen jaar weer genoeg gebeurd, waardoor ik behoefte had om het op de blog extra aandacht te geven. On the Fifth of May we celebrate in the Netherlands that we can live here in freedom. This celebration follows after the commemoration on the Fourth of May of all the victims of the Second World War and victims of later War situations and peace missions. Ik heb deze maand ook meegedaan aan de Music mani collaboration. Het thema was een nail art te maken bij een liedje “songs you can jam out to” oftewel liedjes die je gewoon hardop mee moet zingen. Ik koos voor een ouder liedje. Met de kinderen luisteren we veel naar de Efteling Kids Radio app, maar die voelen niet echt van mij. Ook al kan ik de Drakendans van de Sprookjesboom hardop woord voor woord meezingen 😂 This month I joined the Music mani collab. The theme was “songs you can jam out to”. I chose an older song. With the kids we listen a lot to the Efteling Kids Radio app, but those aren’t really my songs. Although I know all the words to “De Drakendans” (the dragon dance song) 😂 So I chose Drops of Jupiter by Train and let my nail art be inspired by the opening lyrics. Vrolijk Pasen allemaal! Dit is mijn nail art voor Pasen. Ik heb gekozen voor Essie Moments to Mrs. en Essie Zip me up, allebei van de Gel Couture lijn. Happy Easter everyone! Here’s my Easter nail art. I chose Essie Moments to Mrs. and Essie Zip me up, both from the Gel Couture line. Ik heb drie laagjes Essie Moments to Mrs. (paars-roze pastel) aangebracht op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink. Ik heb twee laagjes Essie Zip me up (lichtgroen) aangebracht op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger. Op beide stempelde ik een bloemige ei-vorm van de Dashica Infinity Nail paas stempelplaat. I’m wearing three coats of Essie Moments to Mrs. (orchid pink pastel) on my thumb, index finger and little finger. I’m wearing two coats of Essie Zip me up (light minty green) on my middle finger and ring finger.
