Ik was eens aan het rommelen in mijn nagellak collectie toen ik deze combinatie van kleurtjes eruit haalde. Ik had hier wel zin in!

I was going through my nail polish stash and picked this combination of colours from it. I like it!

Narcis voor de lente!

Vandaag is het de eerste officiële dag van de lente!

Today is the first official day of spring!

Dochter had weer een verzoekje aan mama. Ze hebben het over bloembollen en ze wilde graag een bijpassende clip.

Daughter had a new request. They have a theme with flower bulbs and she wanted a matching hair bow.

Ik koos satijn deze keer en twee malletjes van Clover: Pointed Petal Small Size en Orchid Petal Extra Small Size. Ik vond ook nog een schattig lieveheersbeestje in mijn la. Je raad het al dat het een narcis werd.

I chose satin and two of my Clover Kanzashi Flower Makers: Pointed Petal Small Size and Orchid Petal Extra Small Size. I also found a cute lady bug in my drawer. I guess that the colour scheme gives away that it is going to be a daffodil.

Schattig is ie geworden! (Misschien moet ik een volgende keer een andere ondergrond gebruiken voor het fotograferen van iets wits)

Cute isn’t it? (Maybe next time I need to pick a different colour background when photographing something white)

Happy St Patrick’s!

Ok, ik woon in Nederland en vier geen St. Patrick’s, maar de groene kleurtjes geven zo’n fijn lente gevoel!

Blauwe druifjes

Na de Siberische kou van februari, gaan de bollen gelukkig al snel weer wat kleur aan de wereld geven! Ik heb krokussen, narcissen en blauwe druifjes gezien. Dus besloot ik ook wat lente op mijn nagels te stempelen.

After the Siberian chill of februari, the flower bulbs are quickly giving some colour to the world! I have seen crocuses, daffodils and muscari. So I decided to stamp some spring on my nails.

Ik heb alle nagels gelakt met Essie Gel Couture stitch by stitch en op de accent nagel OPI Unfrost My Heart. Met twee kleurtjes heb ik drie keer de blauwe druifjes op mijn nagels gestempeld. Ik heb geen clean up gedaan, dus je ziet nog een beetje groen van de blaadjes op mijn vinger. Geen zorgen, een keer handen wassen en dat is eraf.

I painted all my nails with Essie Gel Couture stitch by stitch accept for the accent nail. That is OPI Unfrost My Heart. With two colours I stamped three times a muscari on my nail. I forgot to clean up, so you can see some green of the leaves on my finger. No problem, wash your hands once and it is gone.

Treat, love & color

Soms heb je een kleurtje nodig dat alles in een is en iedereen blij maakt. Voor mij is dat Essie TLC in sheers to you.

Sometimes you need a colour that is all-in-one and makes everybody happy. For me that is Essie TLC sheers to you.

Ik heb drie laagjes opgebracht, geen base, geen top. Omdat het anders wel heel braaf en saai is, heb ik nog een stempel van een gestileerde tulp erop gezet.

I painted three layers, no base, no top. To prevent it from being too plain and boring, I stamped a stylised tulip on it.

Essie rose gold

Deze nagellak van Essie Gel Couture Bridal collection ‘To have and to gold’ (2017), keek mij heel lief aan. Dus ging ik er iets moois mee maken.

This nail polish of the Essie Gel Couture Bridal collection ‘ To have and to gold’ (2017) was staring at me. So I decided to make something pretty with her.

Ik pakte mijn favoriete lichtroze lakjes erbij: Essie Peak Show en L’Oreal Dimanche Apres-Midi. Zoals je ziet zijn deze al flink gebruikt. Ik vind het namelijk erg mooi om een laagje van de L’ Oreal over een laagje van de Essie te doen. Ik besloot er een takje op te stempelen. Nu is alles nog kaal buiten, maar ik kan niet wachten tot de lente!

I picked my favourite light pink nail polishes to go with her: Essie Peak Show and L’ Oreal Dimanche Apres-Midi. As you can see, these polishes have been used often. I think it adds something if I layer the L’Oreal polish over this Essie polish. I decided to stamp a little twig on top. Now the trees are still bare outside, but I can’t wait for spring!

Elsa haar clip

Onze kleine meid is nog altijd dol op een zekere ijskoningin van Disney: Elsa. En ik heb haar verzoek gehoord en voor haar een haarclipje gemaakt in het kleurenschema van deze dame.

Our little girl still loves a certain Ice Queen named Elsa. I heard her request and made a hair clip for her in the colour scheme of this lady.

Wat ik op Valentijn wel droeg

Na de subtiele nagels van vorige week, maakte ik het voor mijn uiteindelijke Valentijnsnagels een stuk feller van kleur!

After de subtle look of last week, I choose much brighter colours for the real look I sported for Valentines!

Op de accentnagel zit de lichtgrijze Catrice Spectralight nagellak in 05 holo enchantment. Op de foto wilde het niet zo tonen, maar in de zon zijn er echt wel regenbogen!

For the accent nail I went with the light grey Catrice Spectralight polish in 05 holo enchantment. It doesn’t show on the picture, but in sunlight it throws subtle rainbows!

Zeer subtiele Valentijns nail art

Ik zag deze nagellakken staan van Essence Wood you love me? en die moesten mee naar huis. Ik vond de kleurtjes lief en de ‘high covering’ belofte maakte mij nieuwsgierig of ze zouden stempelen. Ik kreeg gelijk inspiratie voor Valentijn.

I saw these Essence Wood you love me? polishes and they just had to come home with me. The colours are very sweet and the ‘ high covering’ promise made me curious if they would stamp. I instantly had inspiration for Valentine’s.

Ik koos voor een plaat van Moyra, waarop een lieve hartjes afbeelding staat. En dan de nagels, zou het stempelen succesvol zijn?

I choose a Moyra plate with a sweet heart pattern. And now on to the nails, was stamping successful?

Stamping with essence wood you love me

Zoals je kunt zien was het heeeeel subtiel. Je kan het hartjespatroon nauwelijks zien. Kleurtjes zijn lief en combineren mooi. Voor het stempelen kan je beter een ander lakje pakken!

As you can see, it turned out to be really really subtle. You can barely see the heart pattern. The colours are sweet and a good combination. You can better pick something else to stamp with.

Oudroze, taupe en wat glitter

Het grijze winterweer deed mij wat vergrijsde kleuren pakken. Om het niet al te somber te laten worden, koos ik nog wat sparkles erbij.

The overcast winter skies made me feel into greyish tints. To make things not too moody, I chose to add some sparkle.

Je kan duidelijk aan mijn handen zien dat het winter is… ik zal meer hand creme en nagelolie smeren!

It shows on my hands that it is winter… I will put on hand cream and cuticle oil more often!

Van links naar rechts de kleurtjes: Essence Made to sparkle 02 don’t be too shy to shine, L’Oreal 221 26 Rue Cremieux, Essence The Gel nail polish 99 tip top taupe, mijn L’Oreal Gel topcoat en Revlon Top Speed 335 Spirit. Ik heb de Revlon gebruikt onder de Essence sparkle en ook om mee te stempelen. Misschien had ik beter toch even de witte stempellak kunnen pakken, want het is nu niet heel scherp…

I used a stamping plate by YZWLE (found om AliExpress). From left to right: Essence Made to sparkle 02 don’t be too shy to shine, L’Oreal 221 26 Rue Cremieux, Essence The Gel nail polish 99 tip top taupe, my L’Oreal Gel topcoat and Revlon Top Speed 335 Spirit. I used the Revlon as a base under the Essence sparkle and also stamped with it. Maybe I had better taken the time to get the white stamping polish out, because now it looks a bit faded…
