Deze week is het thema bij #wirlackierendenSommerbunt door Iris van PinselPoesie en Anna van @aenn.es “Fernweh”. Ik heb dat vertaald als “reislust”. Een leuk thema in de zomerperiode! En ook één waar ik wat bij kan vertellen. Dus hebben we zomaar een blog post midden in de week.

This week’s theme with #wirlackierendenSommerbunt by Iris of PinselPoesie en Anna of @aenn.es is “Fernweh”. I translated it with “wanderlust”. A good theme in the summer time! And one I can tell a story to. So I decided to write an extra blog post in the middle of the week. 

Toen ik Man leerde kennen, had hij al wat mooie reizen gemaakt en bijzondere plekken op de wereld gezien. Samen hebben we ook nog wat mooie (vakantie)reizen gemaakt. En toen… kregen we kinderen. Met veel liefde hebben we sinds hun komst onze vakantie plannen aangepast. Ze zijn wel al twee keer (de oudste) en een keer (de jongste) meegegaan naar een bijzondere bestemming, maar over het algemeen zijn onze vakanties nu in het thema: als de kinderen het maar naar hun zin hebben. Dit wil niet zeggen dat reizen nu onmogelijk is geworden. Maar ik wil er mee zeggen dat reizen niet perse noodzakelijk is om een fijne vakantie te hebben. Onze gemiddelde vakantie bestemming is sinds hun komst op zo’n vier uur rijden van ons huis op een vakantiepark met kinderanimatie. Wie had dat ooit gedacht! 😁

When I met Husband, he had already been bitten by the travel bug. He had made some special trips and seen some remarkable places on this planet. As a couple we also made some nice (holiday) travels. And then… we had kids. Since their arrival we have lovingly adapted our holiday travels. The oldest has twice and the youngest has once been on a special trip with us, but mostly our holidays are now centred around the theme: as long as the kids are happy. I don’t mean to tell travel is no longer an option. But I do mean to say that for a nice family holiday travel is not a necessity per se. On average our holiday trips are on a family friendly holiday park with kids animation on approximately a four hour drive from our home. Who would ever have thought of that! 😁

Ik heb voor blauwe nagels gekozen, omdat Man en ik een zonnige bestemming fijn vinden. Blauwe luchten dus! Het is in Nederland gewoon zo vaak bewolkt… Voor de kinderen is vermaak fijn. Dat kan al zo eenvoudig zijn als een strandje bij het vakantieverblijf.

I chose blue nails, because Husband and I like a sunny destination. Blue skies! In the Netherlands we have so often overcast skies… For the kids it is nice if there is room for play. That can be as simple as a beach near the vacation spot.
