Polishes I wore in January 2025

Het jaar startte stormachtig en werd daarna opgevolgd met veel mist en bewolking. Maar wellicht was er toch vaker zon dan ik mij herinner. Voor mijn gevoel was het in ieder geval een hele grijze maand. In navolging van Instagram ga ik dit jaar over op een nieuwe verhouding van mijn foto’s. Ik ga het de eerste maanden uitproberen en kijken hoe mij dit bevalt. Alle manicures zijn deze maand gedragen met base coat en top coat.

The year started off with stormy weather and then followed cloudy and foggy weather. Maybe there was more sun than I remember. But I felt that it was a very grey and overcast month. Following up on the changes that Instagram made with the new picture format, I will be doing the same. I will try it the first months of the year and I will evaluate if I will keep it this way. All manicures this month are worn with base coat and top coat.

Essie you're a gem with swirl stamping for Pantone Mocha Mousse — Pantone Mocha Mousse

Traditioneel is mijn eerste manicure van het jaar geïnspireerd door de Pantone kleur van het jaar. Dit jaar is de kleur Mocha Mousse, een bruintint. Mijn plan was om een swirly dry marble manicure te maken. Helaas kwam ik tijd te kort en koos ik uiteindelijk voor afbeeldingen van KADS stempelplaat Min 026. Als basis gebruikte ik Essie you’re a gem in twee laagjes. Om te stempelen gebruikte ik de essence kleuren 26 WOW cacao en 29 CRAZY cocoa. Van de drie gebruikte kleuren vind ik Essence 26 WOW cacao de beste match.

Traditionally I start the year with a manicure inspired by the Pantone colour of the year. This year the colour is Mocha Mousse, a shade of brown. My plan was to create a swirly dry marble manicure. Sadly I did not have time to do it, so I chose to use images from KADS stamping plate Min 026. As base I used Essie you’re a gem in two coats. For stamping I used essence polishes 26 WOW cacao and 29 CRAZY cocoa. Of the polishes used I think Essence 26 WOW cacao was the best match.

ILNP Misty

Daarna droeg ik ILNP Misty in drie laagjes. Een mooie rustige kleur, passend bij de grijze wereld om mij heen.

Next I wore ILNP Misty in three coats. A nice calm colour, fitting by the grey world around us.

Essie easy freezy and Catrice 80 Cherry Bite

Vervolgens droeg ik een combinatie van twee kleuren, namelijk Essie easy freezy (twee laagjes) en Catrice Cherry Bite (twee laagjes). Daarna plaatste ik met Cherry Bite een stempel van stempelplaat KADS min 003 op de nagels met easy freezy.

Then I wore a combination of two colours; Essie easy freezy (two coats) and Catrice Cherry Bite (two coats). I added an image from stamping plate KADS min 003 with Cherry Bite on the nails with easy freezy.

Geinspireerd op een oudere Polish Pick Up nagellak (Nailed It! La la land, november 2020), bedacht ik deze combinatie. Eerst bracht ik een laagje Catrice More Than Nude 07 Nudie Beautie aan, daarna twee laagjes Essence So Mesmerizing 01 Believe In Mermagic! en tot slot een laagje Catrice Dream in Holo Blast 060 Prism Universe. De PPU nagellak die mijn inspiratie was, is meer roze en mijn recreatie is meer perzikkleurig. Maar dat maakte mij niet uit, ik heb deze combinatie met veel plezier gedragen!

Inspired by an older Polish Pick Up nail polish (Nailed It! La la land, November 2020), I came up with this combination. This is how I layered it: first Catrice More Than Nude 07 Nudie Beautie (1 coat), then Essence So Mesmerizing 01 Believe In Mermagic! (2 coats) and finally Catrice Dream in Holo Blast 060 Prism Universe (1 coat). The PPU nail polish that served as my inspiration is more pink and my recreation is more peach. But I was very happy with this combo!

Winter nail art

Daarna droeg ik een winter nail art met Catrice Brave Metallics 03 Million Dollars Baby (drie laagjes) en Essie find me an oasis (twee laagjes). Met een blauwe stempellak plaatste ik afbeeldingen van KADS stempelplaat Christmas 018.

Next I wore a winter nail art with Catrice Brave Metallics 03 Million Dollars Baby (three coats) and Essie find me an oasis (two coats). With a blue metallic stamping polish I added images from KADS stamping plate Christmas 018.

China Glaze Fairy dust and Catrice 100 Party Animal

Geinspireerd op ILNP winter nagellak (Frosted Rose), droeg ik weer een combinatie. Deze keer bestaat het uit twee laagjes Catrice ICONails 100 Party Animal en een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust. Dit is de eerste maand dat ik Fairy Dust draag. Nog 11 maanden te gaan om mijn doel te halen.

Inspired by an ILNP winter nail polish (Frosted Rose), I wore another combination. This time it’s two coats of Catrice ICONails 100 Party Animal and one coat China Glaze Fairy Dust. This is my first time this year that I wear Fairy Dust. Eleven months to go to reach my goal!

Fair Maiden Fort Night

Over een laagje transparant witte nagellak, draag ik twee laagjes van Fair Maiden Fort Night. Deze nagellak is vol shimmer en flakes. De nagellak is geïnspireerd op een speeltent gebouwd met lakens en de flakes geven de textuur van kreukels in de lakens. Een mooie winternagellak!

Over a base layer of a sheer white base coat, I wore two coats of Fair Maiden Fort Night. This polish is full of shimmer and flakes. The nail polish is inspired by a play fort build with sheets. The flakes give this polish a texture like there are wrinkles and creases of the sheets. A very beautiful winter nail polish.

A England Michael

De laatste nagellak van de maand was A England Michael from the Archangels Collection. Het is een lichtblauwe holografische nagellak met blauwe shimmer. Ik draag het in twee laagjes.

The final nail polish of the month was A England Michael from the Archangels Collection. It’s a light blue holographic nail polish with blue shimmer. I’m wearing it in two coats.

2024 in review, favourite manicures and plans for 2025

2024 in review

Vorig jaar had ik de volgende doelen voor 2024 bedacht:

– Maar een (1) online bestelling voor heel 2024, bij voorkeur op Black Friday of voor een Advents kalender;
– Aankopen bij de drogisterijen zijn toegestaan in de winkel;
– 15% van de collectie dragen;
– Ongedragen of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken hebben voorrang;
– Doorgaan met seizoensgebonden selecties;
– Meer dan 50% van de collectie gefotografeerd krijgen in Lacquergram.

Het eerste doel is niet helemaal goed gegaan. In plaats van één bestelling voor indie nagellakken, heb ik er drie geplaatst. De eerste was om het slagen voor een examen te vieren, de tweede voor het vullen van een zelfgemaakte Adventskalender en de derde was op Black Friday. Daardoor is het budget ook wat hoger uitgevallen.

De daaropvolgende doelen zijn wel goed gegaan. Ik heb drogisterij nagellakken niet online besteld, maar netjes in de winkel bekeken voordat ik het aankocht. Dat scheelde ook in de aantallen aankopen. Ongedragen of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken hadden steeds voorrang, vooral bij het maken van de seizoensgebonden selecties.

Uiteindelijk zijn dit de statistieken voor 2024:
– Ik heb 20,3% van de collectie gedragen;
– Ik droeg 114 manicures voor het jaar, gemiddeld 9,5 manicures per maand of gemiddeld 2,2 per week;
– In totaal is nu 60,5% van de collectie gedocumenteerd in Lacquergram;
– de collectie groeide met zo’n 60 lakken, ietsje meer verwacht. Niet alle groei is van nieuwe aankoop. Ook enkele ongedocumenteerde lakken zijn hierbij opgenomen.

Last year I formulated the following goals for 2024:

– Just one online order for 2024, preferably on Black Friday or for a nail polish Advents calendar;
– Buying polish in the drugstores is allowed;
– Wear 15% of the collection;
– Unworn or not photographed nail polishes have priority;
– Making seasonal selections;
– Get more than 50% of the collection photographed in Lacquergram.

My first goal did not go so well. Instead of one online order, I made three online orders for indie nail polishes. One order was to celebrate passing an exam, the second order was for polishes for my home made advent calendar. The third order was for Black Friday. So the budget was slightly over.

The other goals went very well. I did not buy drugstore polishes online, but only in store. Because I saw them before buying, I was more selective and bought less. When I made my seasonal selecties I gave priority to unworn or not photographed nail polishes.

Here are my statistics for 2024:
– I wore 20,3% of the collection;
– I wore 114 manicures for the year, on average 9,5 manicures a month or on average 2,2 manicures a week;
– In total 60,5% of the collection has a picture in Lacquergram;
– I added about 60 polishes to the collection, slightly more than hoped. Not all added polishes are newly bought. I also found some polishes that were not yet documented in Lacquergram.

Plans for 2025

Vorig jaar was een heel succesvol jaar. Maar ik durf niet op alle terreinen ambitieuzere doelen te formuleren.

Uiteindelijk heb ik deze doelen geformuleerd voor 2025:
– Low buy voor nagellakken. Bij voorkeur geen indie nagellakken bestellen en alleen (beperkt) aankopen uit de drogisterij;
– 15% van de collectie dragen;
– Ongedragen of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken hebben een lichte voorrang, maar ik start dit jaar ook met opnieuw dragen van nagellakken die al in Lacquergram gefotografeerd staan. Ik mis sommige favorieten;
– Doorgaan met het maken van seizoens selecties;
– Ik heb afgelopen november mijn potje China Glaze fairy dust (een holografische glitter topper) weer bruikbaar gemaakt. Ik wil proberen deze topper elke maand een keer te gebruiken, voordat hij weer te veel indikt;
– en ik wil een heel groot project opstarten: namelijk de collectie op swatch sticks zetten en deze organiseren op kleur. Hopelijk helpt dit bij het vinden van kleuren bij de seizoens selecties.

Last year was a very successful year, but I am careful with formulating very ambitious goals for next wear.

In the end did I chose to set these goals for 2025:
– Low buy on nail polish. I would like to buy no indie polishes in 2025 and only buy polishes in the drugstore (limited quantities);
– Wear 15% of the collection;
– Unworn or not photographed polishes still have a slight priority, but I want to start rewearing polishes that have a picture in Lacquergram. I missed some favourites;
– Continue making seasonal selections;
– Last November I revived my bottle of China Glaze fairy dust (holographic topper). I want to try to wear it each month in a manicure, before it gets gloopy again;
– And I want to start a very big project: I want to swatch out the collection on swatch sticks and organize these swatch sticks in colour families. I hope this will help me with finding colours for the seasonal selections.

Ik heb de eerste swatches al gemaakt. Ik begon het project met de aankoop van 800 swatch sticks en het opzoeken van de Dymo labelprinter. Mijn lieve echtgenoot plaatste haakjes onder mijn plank. Mijn voornemen is om eerst mijn nagellakken van Catrice en Essie te swatchen. Deze merken hebben mijn meest gedragen creme kleuren. Daarna ga ik ook indie merken swatchen. Daarbij ben ik van plan alle nagellakken in potjes van 5 ml of minder (mini’s) niet te swatchen. Deze gebruik ik voor vakanties.

I already made my first swatches. I started the project by buying 800 swatch sticks and finding the Dymo label printer. My dear husband added hooks under my nail polish shelf. My plan is to swatch the nail polishes of Catrice and Essie first. These brands have my most worn creme nail colours. After that I will start swatching indie brands. I’m also planning not to swatch nail polishes in bottles of 5 ml or less (mini size). I mostly use these polishes for holidays.

December is een feestmaand met Sinterklaas, Kerst en Oudjaar. Elke manicure heeft deze maand wat nail art gehad. Het weer was deze maand erg grijs. Daardoor was het moeilijk om foto’s te maken van de holografische eigenschappen van de nagellakken. Maar onder onze keukenlampen zag ik vaak wel de sparkles. Alle nagellakken zijn gedragen met base coat en top coat, tenzij anders vermeld.

December is a month filled with holidays. First it’s Saint Nicholas, then Christmas and finally New Year’s Eve. Every manicure this month had some nail art. The weather was very overcast this month. That made it difficult to photograph holographic properties of nail polishes. But in my house I could still enjoy the sparkles under the kitchen lights. All nail polishes are worn with base coat and top coat, unless otherwise stated.

Dam nail polish Jingle Juice

De eerste manicure van de maand was voor Sinterklaas. De basis was drie laagjes Dam nail polish Jingle Juice. Jingle Juice is een paarse nagellak met een sterke rood-oranje-gele shimmer met holografische flakes. Als accent koos ik een afbeelding van een kado van stempelplaat Dashica Infinity Nails nummer 35. Ik kleurde de afbeelding met paarse en rode nagellak. In elk licht zag deze nagellak er anders uit, wat mij heel erg vermaakte.

The first manicure this month was for Saint Nicholas. As base I used three coats of Dam nail polish Jingle Juice. Jingle Juice has a purple base with a strong red-orange-yellow shimmer with holographic flakes. As accent I added an image of a present from stamping plate Dashica Infinity Nails no 35. I used reverse stamping to colour the image with purple and red nail polish. This polish was very shifty and looked different in every lighting. It was very entertaining.

Sally Hansen 063 Frosted Berries

Daarna droeg ik twee manicures die voorzichtig kerst gethematiseerd waren. De eerste manicure bestond uit Sally Hansen 063 Frosted Berries met als accent kleur essence Don’t be too shy to shine van een oude december collectie op duim en ringvinger. Ik draag Frosted Berries is twee laagjes en de essence lak in drie laagjes. Op de witte shimmer nagels stempelde ik een afbeelding van stempelplaat KADS Christmas 039. De stempellak die ik gebruikte was ietsje lichter dan de kleur van Frosted Berries.

The next two manicures were gently going towards Christmas. The first manicure was a combination of Sally Hansen 063 Frosted Berries and essence Don’t be too shy to shine from an old December collection. I’m wearing Frosted Berries in two coats and the essence polish in three coats on my thumb and ring finger nails. On the white shimmer nails I added an image of stamping plate KADS Christmas 039. The stamping polish I used was slightly lighter than the colour of Frosted Berries.

Starrily Diamond Rain

Daarna ging ik voor een winterse sfeer met Starrily Diamond Rain. Ik draag het in twee laagjes. Op de ringvinger bracht ik een afbeelding aan van KADS Christmas 044 met zilveren stempellak. Starrily Diamond Rain is een blauwe jelly nagellak met holografische flakes en komt van een Kelli Marissa collab. Het is mijn enige Starrily lak en ik heb hem al jaren. Dit was de eerste keer dat ik het droeg en het is een hele mooie nagellak.

The next manicure was more wintery themed. I wore Starrily Diamond Rain in two coats. On the ring finger nail I added an image from Christmas 044 with a silver stamping polish. Starrily Diamond Rain is a blue jelly polish with holographic flakes and is from a Kelli Marissa collaboration. It’s my only Starrily nail polish and I bought it some years ago. This was my first manicure with this polish and it’s very pretty.

OPI Red fingers & mistletoes

Vervolgens ging ik volledig over op de Kerst nail arts/ manicures. De eerste kerstmanicure was met OPI Red fingers & mistletoes. Ik draag deze rode nagellak met gouden flakes in twee laagjes met als accent een afbeelding van KADS Christmas 023.

Then I changed to full Christmas manicures. The first Christmas manicure was with OPI Red fingers & mistletoes. I’m wearing this red nail polish with golden flakes in two coats with an accent of an image from KADS stamping plate Christmas 023.

Neutral Christmas skittle

Essence 11 Bang boom bling, Catrice C01 True Blossom, Rimmel London 019 Disco Diva

De tweede kerstmanicure was een neutrale skittle met Essence 11 Bang boom bling, Catrice C01 True Blossom en Rimmel London 019 Disco Diva. Ik draag de essence in drie laagjes, de Catrice in twee laagjes en de Rimmel in twee laagjes over een laagje van de essence. Op de duim draag ik ook twee laagjes van de Catrice. Als accent op de middelvinger bracht ik een afbeelding aan van BornPretty plaat BP-01 ingekleurd met Bang boom bling.

The second full Christmas manicure was a neutral skittle with Essence 11 Bang boom bling, Catrice C01 True Blossom and Rimmel London 019 Disco Diva. I’m wearing the essence in three coats, the Catrice polish in two coats en the Rimmel glitter topper in two coats over one coat of the essence. On the thumb I also wore two coats of the Catrice nail polish. As accent I added an image from BornPretty stamping plate BP-01 that I coloured with Bang boom bling.

Dam nail polish Evergreen

Bij de derde kerstmanicure was het de eerste en de enige keer deze maand dat ik een foto in de zon kon maken. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van Dam nail polish Evergreen met een glitter smoothing top coat en een reguliere top coat. Evergreen is een groene nagellak met reflective glitter en holografische glitter. Als accent stempelde ik een gelaagde afbeelding in twee kleuren goud. De uitlijning van de kerstklok stempelde ik met witgoud en de details met een gouden stempellak. De afbeelding komt van stempelplaat KADS Christmas 036.

When I had just painted the third Christmas manicure it was the first and only time this month that I could use the sun when taking the picture. I’m wearing two coats of Dam nail polish Evergreen with a glitter smoothing coat and a regular top coat. Evergreen is green nail polish with reflective glitter and holographic glitter. As accent I stamped a layered image in two colours of gold. The base of the Christmas clock I stamped in white gold and the details of the clock in a golden stamping polish. The image is from stamping plate KADS Christmas 036.

Essie Scarlett o’Hara

En dan ben ik aangekomen bij mijn echte kerstmanicure. Ik heb combinaties gemaakt met meerdere nagellakken. Op mijn duim droeg ik een laagje van OPI 50 years of style, een laagje OPI A mirror escape en een laagje DA nagellak 102 Caught Red Handed. Op mijn wijsvinger, middelvinger en pink draag ik twee laagjes Essie Scarlett o’Hara. Op mijn ringvinger draag ik een laagje van OPI 50 years of style met een laagje OPI A mirror escape. Daarover draag ik een stempel van KADS stempelplaat Christmas 052 met een rode stempellak. Van dezelfde stempelplaat plaatste ik een andere afbeelding met gouden stempellak op de middelvinger. Het was een combinatie van meerdere nagellakken en het effect was precies wat ik hoopte. Ik was erg blij met deze manicure.

And now we have arrived with my real Christmas Day manicure. I made a combination with multiple nail polishes. On my thumb nail I wore a combination of one layer of OPI 50 years of style, one layer of OPI A mirror escape and one layer of DA nagellak 102 Caught Red Handed. On my pointer finger nail, middle finger nail and pinky nail I wore two coats of Essie Scarlett o’Hara. On my ring finger nail I wore one layer of OPI 50 years of style and one layer of OPI A mirror escape. On top I added an image from KADS stamping plate Christmas 052 with a red stamping polish. Form this same stamping plate I added another image with golden stamping polish on the middle finger nail. It was a combination of many different things, but it turned out as I had hoped. I was very happy with this manicure.

Rogue Enter the grid with Sally Hansen Whisk You a Merry Xmas

Tussen Kerst en Oud en Nieuw droeg ik deze winterse manicure met Rogue Enter the grid en Sally Hansen Whisk You a Merry Xmas. Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink draag ik drie laagjes van de Rogue nagellak en op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger draag ik drie laagjes van Whisk You a Merry Xmas. Op deze nagels draag ik afbeeldingen van BornPretty stempelplaat Christmas S003. Op de andere hand had ik weer andere afbeeldingen van deze stempelplaat geplaatst. Het was een speelse manicure en ik was er erg blij mee.

Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve I wore this wintery themed manicure with Rogue Enter the grid and Sally Hansen Whisk You a Merry Xmas. On my thumb nail, pointer finger nail and pinky nail I’m wearing the Rogue in three coats. On my middle finger nail and middle finger nail I’m wearing three coats of Whisk You a Merry Xmas and on top I added images from BornPretty stamping plate Christmas S003. On the other hand I added other images from this stamping plate. It was a playful manicure and it made me very happy.

Dam nail polish Reading By The Fire

Tot slot was het tijd voor mijn Oudjaar manicure. Ik droeg als basis twee laagjes van Dam nail polish Reading by the fire. Deze nagellak heeft een grijze basiskleur met multichrome shimmer (paars-blauw-roze-oranje) en reflective glitter. Ik draag het met een glitter smoothing top coat en daarover mijn reguliere top coat. Op mijn duim en ring vinger plaatste ik afbeeldingen van KADS stempelplaat Festival 003 met roze stempellak. Dit was mijn laatste nagellak van de 2023 advent kalender van Dam. Het is mij gelukt om verspreid over het jaar alle kleuren van de kalender te dragen. Dit jaar heb ik de advent kalender anders gedaan. Alle nagellakken aangekocht gedurende de laatste paar maanden van het jaar heb ik apart gehouden en deze zijn door Dochter ingepakt tot advent kalender. De volgorde was daarmee toch een verassing, maar de inhoud bestond wel geheel uit kleuren die ik op mijn verlanglijstje had staan. Het was een heel geslaagde adventskalender!

Finally it was time for my New Year’s Eve manicure. I wore two coats of Dam nail polish Reading by the fire. This nail polish has a grey base with multichrome shimmer (purple-blue-pink-orange) and reflective glitter. I’m wearing it with a glitter smoothing top coat and my regular top coat. On my thumb nail and my ring finger nail I placed images from KADS stamping plate Festival 003 with pink stamping polish. This was my last polish that I hadn’t worn yet from my 2023 Advent calendar from Dam nail polish. I managed to wear all 12 polishes in this year. This year we did the advent experience differently. All polishes bought by me after the summer were set apart and Daughter packed them into an advent calendar. The order of the polishes was a surprise for me, but all the polishes were colours from my wish list. It was a very good advent calendar!

November was een rustige maand. Ik heb veel nagellakken van mijn herfst selectie kunnen dragen. Alle manicures zijn gedragen met base coat en top coat, tenzij anders vermeld.

November was a quiet month. I was able to wear many polishes from my fall polish rack. Every manicure is worn with base coat and top coat, unless otherwise stated.

A England Revealed In Sleep

De eerste manicure van de maand was A England Revealed in sleep. Dit een grijze nagellak met bruine ondertoon. Het is in de zon zeer holografisch, maar helaas was het net een bewolkte periode. Ik draag het in twee laagjes.

The first manicure of the month was A England Revealed in sleep. This is a grey nail polish with brown undertones. In the sun the holographic rainbows show up, but sadly it was overcast when I wore it. I’m wearing it in two coats.

Daarna koos ik voor een nagellak met reflective glitter. Ik koos voor Dam nail polish Cookie Recipe Swap (advent kalender 2023, dag 7) en combineerde het met Essie playing koi en KADS stempellak 33. Ik draag Cookie Recipe Swap in drie dunne laagjes met een glitter smoothing top coat en gewone top coat. De Essie draag ik in twee laagjes. De stempelafbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat min 003.

Next I chose for a nail polish with reflective glitter. I chose Dam nail polish Cookie Recipe Swap (advent calendar 2023, day 7) and added Essie playing koi en KADS stamping polish 33. I’m wearing Cookie Recipe Swap in three thin coats with a glitter smoothing top coat and regular top coat. The Essie polish is worn in two coats. The stamping image is from KADS stamping plate min 003.

De volgende manicure is OPI Sleigh parking only met een topper en een stempel als accent. Ik draag de OPI in twee laagjes en eroverheen een laagje Starry Veil van Max Factor. De stempelafbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat Nature 019 en is gedaan met een witgouden stempellak.

Daarna koos ik opnieuw voor een combinatie met een topper. Deze keer was de basis twee laagjes Revlon Iconic en daaroverheen een laagje KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It.

Then I made another combination with two coats of Revlon Iconic and one layer of KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It.

Essie Wicked fierce with accent nail art

Essie Wicked Fierce with accent Catrice C01 Enchanting Lights

Vervolgens koos ik voor Essie Wicked fierce met een accent nagel met Catrice Mystic Forrest C01 Enchanting Lights en nail art. Ik draag Wicked fierce in twee laagjes en Enchanting Lights in drie laagjes. De afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat Nature 013 en ik heb dit met rode nagellak ingekleurd.

Next I chose Essie Wicked fierce with an accent nail with Catrice Mystic Forrest C01 Enchanting Lights and nail art. I wore Wicked fierce in two coats and Enchanting Lights in three coats. The image is from KADS stamping plate Nature 013 and I colorised it with a red nail polish.

Masura The Various Dreams

Mijn volgende manicure was Masura The Various Dreams met een accent nagel. Het paste goed bij het weer van die dagen: regen! The Various Dreams draag ik in drie laagjes. Deze nagellak heeft een grijze basis en is gevuld met gekleurde flakes. De afbeelding van de regenwolken en de paraplu komen van KADS stempelplaat Nature 024. De paraplu heb ik nog extra ingekleurd.

Fitting with the rainy weather of those days I wore Masura The Various Dreams with an accent nail. I’m wearing The Various Dream in three coats. This polish has a grey base and is filled with colourful flakes. The rainy images are from KADS stamping plate Nature 024. I colorised the umbrella.

OPI Sweet Heart

Om even rust te hebben op de nagels, droeg ik OPI Sweet Heart in drie laagjes. OPI Sweet Heart is een zacht lichtroze nude kleurtje dat bij mijn huidskleur heel neutraal staat.

To catch a break in between all the colours, I wore OPI Sweet Heart in three coats. OPI Sweet Heart is a soft light pink nude shade.

OPI Sweet Heart with China Glaze Fairy Dust

Na een aantal dagen heb ik de manicure verlengd met een laagje Fairy Dust en top coat. Mijn Fairy Dust was erg dik geworden, dus ik heb er restore druppels bijgedaan. Heerlijk om hem weer te kunnen gebruiken. Mijn voornemen is nu heel regelmatig een laagje Fairy Dust over mijn manicures aan te brengen.

To add some more wear time to the OPI manicure, I added a layer of Fairy Dust and top coat. My Fairy Dust had become very gloopy, so I had to add some restore drops. It was great to be able to use Fairy Dust again. I’m now planning to use it on a regular basis in the coming months.

OPI Turn On the Northern Lights!

Daarna koos ik een andere OPI nagellak, namelijk Turn On the Northern Lights!. Dit is een donkerblauwe jelly met een shimmer die steeds naar de bodem zakt. Na veel schudden waren de pigmenten weer goed verdeeld. Op de nagel is de shimmer subtiel, maar wel zichtbaar. De shimmer gaat van rood naar groen. Ik draag de nagellak in twee laagjes.

Next I wore another OPI nail polish: Turn On the Northern Lights!. This is a dark blue jelly with a shimmer that separates and goes to the bottom of the bottle. After a lot of shaking I was able to mix the pigments back together. The shimmer is on the subtle side on the nail, but it’s still visible. The shimmer shifts from red to green. I’m wearing Turn On the Northern Lights! in two coats.

DanceLegend No Spoon

Bijna aan het einde van de maand droeg ik DanceLegend No Spoon. Een jaar of zes geleden heb ik een serie kleine maat (6,5 ml) nagellakken van DanceLegend gekocht. Ik heb enkelen wel eens in nail art gebruikt, maar dit is de eerste keer dat ik er eentje in een volledige manicure draag. Ik draag No Spoon in twee laagjes. Dit is een bruine nagellak met rode shimmer en holografische flakes. De afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat Nature 035 en is geplaatst in rose gold.

Almost the last manicure of the month. This time I wore DanceLegend No Spoon. About six years ago I bought a set of small size (6,5 ml) nail polishes from DanceLegend. I used some in nail arts, but this is the first time I wore one in a full manicure. I’m wearing No Spoon in two coats. This is a brown nail polish with red shimmer and holographic flakes. The image is from KADS stamping plate Nature 035 and is placed in rose gold.

A England A Vision Of Love

De laatste manicure van de maand was er eentje die ’s avonds onder tijdsdruk was gemaakt. Hier draag ik één laagje A England A Vision Of Love. Deze nagellak heeft rozig-bruine tint. De foto is ’s avonds genomen, maar de volgende dag in de zon was de nagellak heel holografisch.

The final manicure of the month was quickly done at night. I’m wearing just one coat of A England A Vision Of Love. This nail polish is a neutral tone of rosy brown. I took the picture at night, but the next day in the sun it showed all the holographic goodness.

Polishes I wore in October 2024

In het laatste weekeinde van september hielpen wij vrienden met het sjouwen van verhuisdozen. Helaas brak ik hierbij een nagel, dus de maand oktober startte ik met korte nagels. Gelukkig groeide ze in de loop van de maand weer uit naar mijn vertrouwde (korte) lengte. Elke manicure is deze maand gedragen met base coat en top coat, tenzij anders vermeld.

We helped our friends out with moving boxes in the last weekend of September. Of course I was clumsy and broke a nail. So I started October with nubbins. But during the month they grew back to my preferred (short) length. Every manicure this month was worn with base coat and top coat, unless otherwise stated.

Polished for Days Just Around the Riverbend

De eerste manicure van de maand was voor de verjaardag van Dochter. Zij koos uit mijn collectie Polished for Days Just Around the Riverbend. Haar lievelingskleur is paars. Ook lichtpaars hoort daarbij. Ik draag de nagellak in drie laagjes. De shimmer is erg mooi.

The first manicure of this month was the birthday manicure for Daughter. She chose this polish from my collection: Polished for Days Just Around the Riverbend. Her favourite colour is purple. That includes light purple. I’m wearing the polish in three coats. I really liked the shimmer.

Breast Cancer Awareness nail art

Elke oktober probeer ik een manicure te dragen voor borstkankermaand. Daarvan plaats ik ook een foto op mijn (zo goed als inactieve) Instagram, omdat hij dan mee kan doen voor fondsenwerving. Dit jaar liet ik mij inspireren door een foto van een levensboom met lintjes. Deze elementen heb ik op twee nagels uitgebeeld met stempels van stempelplaten KADS Nature 056 en KADS Nature 069. De basis bestaat uit twee laagjes van Wikkid polish Amnesia Rose en Wikkid polish Candy Floss.

Every October I try to wear a manicure for Breast Cancer Awareness month. The picture of this manicure is also posted to my (almost inactive) Instagram. This way it can also be part of the donation pledges through the hashtags. This year I was inpired by an image of a tree with ribbons. I stamped these elements on two nails with images from stamping plates KADS Nature 056 and KADS Nature 069. The base of the manicure is two layers of Wikkid polish Amnesia Rose and Wikkid polish Candy Floss.

Skittle mani with OPI Yank My Doodle, Essie Sew me and Essie Surrounded by studs

Daarna droeg ik een skittle mani in herfstige kleuren. Ik combineerde OPI Yank My Doodle (oranje-rood), Essie Surrounded by studs (donkerblauw) en Essie Sew me (nude tint). Links droeg ik twee nagels met Yank My Doodle, twee nagels met Essie Sew me en een nagel met Essie Surrounded by studs. Rechts droeg ik twee nagels met Essie Surrounded by studs, twee nagels met Essie Sew me en een nagel met Yank My Doodle.

Next I wore a skittle mani in fall shades. I chose OPI Yank My Doodle (soft orange-red), Essie Surrounded by studs (dark blue) and Essie Sew me (nude shade). Left I wore two nails with Yank My Doodle, two nails with Essie Sew me a one nail with Essie Surrounded by studs. Right I wore two nails with Essie Surrounded by studs, two nails with Essie Sew me and one nail with Yank My Doodle.

Essence 05 Forbidden Berry

Vervolgens koos ik voor rode metallic nagels met Essence 05 Forbidden Berry. Ik draag het in twee laagjes.

Next I chose for red metallic nails with Essence 05 Forbidden Berry. I’m wearing it in two coats.

ILNP Autumn and ILNP Hayride

Daarna koos ik voor twee lakken van ILNP. Ik draag Autumn (een diepe brons-bruine kleur) en Hayride (een lichte kopertint). Beide lakken hebben dezelfde flakes, waardoor in sommige licht omstandigheden het verschil niet zo groot lijkt. Ik draag elke laak in drie laagjes. Als accent stempelde ik een afbeelding van blaadjes van stempelplaat KADS Nature 056 over Hayride.

Next I wore two nail polishes of ILNP. I’m wearing Autumn (a deeper brown bronze shade) and Hayride (a lighter shade of copper). Both polishes have the same flakes, so in some lighting the difference of the shades looks less clear. I’m wearing both polishes in three coats. As accent nail art I stamped an image of fall leaves from stamping plate KADS Nature 056 over Hayride.

Masura Gingerbread House

Vervolgens koos ik voor een zogenaamde ‘palet cleanser’. Een neutrale nagellak om even bij te komen van alle kleur. Ik koos voor Masura Gingerbread House. Ik draag het in drie laagjes.

Then I wore a so called ‘palet cleanser’ polish. A neutral nail polish as a break between all the colourful manicures. I chose Masura Gingerbread House and wore it in three coats.

Catrice 36 Ready to Grape Off! and Essie Stylenomics

Deze manicure was geïnspireerd op de herfstkleuren bij ons in de regio. Hele rijen bomen met dieprood blad bovenin en donkergroene bladeren aan de onderste takken. Ik heb gekozen voor Catrice 36 Ready to Grape Off! (donker bessenrood) en Essie Stylenomics (donkergroen). Ik draag elke kleur in twee laagjes. Als accent nail art stempelde ik met gouden stempellak een afbeelding van KADS Nature 019.

This manicure was inspired by the fall colours in our area. Many trees were colouring with deep red leaves on top en still deep green leaves on the lower branches. I chose for Catrice 36 Ready to Grape Off! (deep grape red) and Essie Stylenomics (deep green). I’m wearing each polish in two coats. As accent nail art I stamped with golden stamping polish an image from stamping plate KADS Nature 019.

DA Nails nail polish 092 Volcanic Fire

Daarna koos ik voor een shimmer nagellak van de DA drogist, 092 Volcanic Fire. Ik weet niet of het nog te koop is, want ik heb deze nagellak al een tijdje. Het is een grijze jelly met rood-oranje-geel-groene shifting shimmer, waarbij rood en oranje dominant zijn. Ik draag de nagellak in drie laagjes. Als accent nail art bracht ik een afbeelding aan van BornPretty plaat BP-19.

Next I chose a drugstore shimmer polish DA 092 Volcanic Fire. I don’t know if it’s still available, because I bought this polish some time ago. It’s a grey jelly polish with red-orange-yellow-green shifting shimmer, where red and orange are dominant. I’m wearing it in three coats. As accent nail art I added an image from stamping plate BornPretty BP-19.

Dam nail polish Shinjuku Showers

Vervolgens koos een blauwe shimmer nagellak met holografische flakes, Dam nail polish Shinjuku Showers. Ik draag het in drie laagjes.

Then I chose a blue shimmer polish with holographic flakes, Dam nail polish Shinjuku Showers. I’m wearing it in three coats.

Halloween nail art

De laatste manicure van de maand was voor Halloween. Op de wijsvinger en ringvinger draag ik drie laagjes ILNP Frankie, een groene magnetische nagellak. Op de andere nagels draag ik Catrice 110 Grapeful met twee laagjes Catrice Glow in the dark 020 All Nighter. Op de duim en middelvinger plaatste ik een vleermuis afbeelding met paarse stempellak van Dashica stempelplaat SdP-76.

The last manicure of the month was an Halloween mani. On the pointer and ring finger nails I was wearing three coats of ILNP Frankie, a green magnetic nail polish. On the other nails I wore Catrice 110 Grapeful with two layers Catrice Glow in the dark 020 All Nighter. On the thumb and middle finger I stamped an image of bats with purple stamping polish from Dashica stamping plate SdP-76.

September kende dit jaar vele gezichten. De maand begon zomers, daarna volgde een wisselvallige periode en vervolgens was er mooi nazomer weer om daarna fris te eindigen. Dat zie je ook terug in mijn keuzes qua nagellak. Ik heb een variatie van kleuren gedragen. Elke manicure is gedragen met base coat en top coat.

The month of September had many faces this year. It started off with summer weather, then a period of overcast and rainy weather, then a period of late summer weather and in the end the weather cooled down. This is reflected in the choices I made in my manicures. I wore a large variation of colours. Every manicure was worn with base coat and top coat.

Ik startte de maand met een combinatie, namelijk als basis twee laagjes Catrice Shine Lavenderous en daarover twee laagjes China Glaze Don’t mesh with me. Don’t mesh with me bestaat uit flakes in een transparante basis. Ik heb nog niet uitgeprobeerd hoeveel laagjes je nodig zal hebben om het dekkend te krijgen. Daarom koos ik voor twee laagjes (nog niet dekkend) met een andere kleur eronder. De flakes in Don’t mesh with me zijn iridescerend en gaan van paars naar naar geel, groen en blauw.

The first manicure of the month was a combination of two coats of Catrice Shine Lavenderous topped with two coats of China Glaze Don’t mesh with me. Don’t mesh with me is a clear polish with flakes. I have not yet tried how many coats are needed to get full coverage. That’s why I chose for a base and added two coats (still no full coverage). The flakes in Don’t mesh with me are iridescent and go from purple to yellow, green and blue.

L’Oréal Santorini Lagoon

Daarna koos ik voor een blauwgroene nagellak. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van L’Oréal Santorini Lagoon. Op wijs en middelvinger bracht ik stempels aan met een beige stempellak. De afbeelding komt van stempelplaat BM-XL205 (nu Maniology).

Next I chose a teal nail polish. I’m wearing two coats of L’Oréal Santorini Lagoon. On pointer and middle finger I added stamping with a beige stamping polish. The image is from stamping plate BM-XL205 (now Maniology).

Monarch Lacquer Fluttering Beauty

Na een lichtpaarse en een blauwgroene manicure, ging ik verder met een roodtint. Hier draag ik drie laagjes van Monarch Lacquer Fluttering Beauty. De shimmer shift van rood, naar oranje naar geel. Het is een hele mooie lak.

After a light purple and a teal manicure, I continued with a red shade. Here I’m wearing three coats of Monarch Lacquer Fluttering Beauty. The shimmer goes from red to orange to yellow. It’s a very pretty polish.

Catrice ICONails 121 Mint To Be

Daarna koos ik voor een mintgroene nagellak van Catrice. Ik droeg Catrice ICONails 121 Mint to be in twee laagjes. De stempelafbeeldingen komen van KADS stempelplaat Min 029. Deze stempelplaat met verschillende afbeeldingen van bloemen, takjes en blaadjes kan gelaagd gestempeld worden. Ik heb gebruik gemaakt van een rose gold stempellak en een lichtgele stempellak.

Next I chose a mint green polish by Catrice. I wore Catrice ICONails 121 Mint to be in two coats. The stamping images are from KADS stamping plate Min 029. The images from this stamping plate can be used in a layered style. I used a rose gold stamping polish and a pale yellow stamping polish.

Essie Jewel in the crown

Vervolgens koos ik Essie Jewel in the crown om te dragen. Deze fuchsia roze richting paarse nagellak met shimmer stond al jaren te wachten op een beurt. Ik draag het hier in twee laagjes.

Then I chose Essie Jewel in the crown. This fuchsia pink going into purple territory nail polish with shimmer has been waiting for a turn to be worn for years. I’m wearing it in two coats.

Catrice ICONails 177 My Berry First Love and Rogue Lacquer Dark Petals

Daarna bleef ik in dezelfde kleur familie met deze manicure. Ik draag op duim, wijsvinger en pink twee laagjes Catrice ICONails 177 My Berry First Love. Op de wijsvinger bracht ik daarna nog een laagje Catrice Amethyst Aura aan en een afbeelding van stempelplaat KADS fashion 096. Op de middelvinger en ringvinger draag ik een flake bomb nagellak van Rogue Lacquer Dark Petals. Bij een flake bomb gebruik ik meestal een laagje kleur (in dit geval Catrice My Berry First Love) waarover ik twee laagjes van de Rogue aanbracht.

For now I stayed in the same colour family. This manicure is with Catrice ICONails 177 My Berry First Love and Rogue Lacquer Dark Petals. I’m wearing the Catrice in two coats on thumb, pointer and pinky. On the pointer finger I added a coat of Catrice Amethyst Aura and an image from stamping plate KADS fashion 096. On middle finger and ring finger nail I painted two coats of the flake bomb polish Dark Petals over one layer of the Catrice. With flake bomb polishes I like to use one layer of colour underneath.

Cuticula Nail Lacquer Blossom By Blossom

Daarna koos ik voor Cuticula Blossom By Blossom van de Shift Happens Collab van maart 2023. Deze paarsige (maar misschien kan je het ook beschrijven als roze of rood) nagellak heeft een sterke shimmer die beweegt tussen groen, geel en blauw. Daarnaast heeft het kleine holo flakes voor extra twinkels. Ik draag het in drie laagjes.

Then I wore Cuticula Blossom By Blossom from the Shift Happens Collaboration from March 2023. This is a mostly purple (it could also be described as pink or reddish) nail polish with a strong shimmer that shifts between green, yellow and blue. It also has small holographic flake for more sparkle. I’m wearing it in three coats.

Phoenix Indie Polish Oops 27

Vervolgens droeg ik Phoenix Indie Polish Oops 27. Dit is een lila nagellak met shimmer en zwart-rode UCC flakes. Ik draag het in drie laagjes.

Next I wore Phoenix Indie Polish Oops 27. This is a lilac nail polish with shimmer and red to black UCC flakes. I’m wearing it in three coats.

Catrice ICONails 130 Meeting Vibes

We naderen het einde van de maand. Nu draag ik Catrice ICONails 130 Meeting Vibes in twee laagjes met een accent nagel. Op mijn ringvinger heb ik een afbeelding van KADS stempelplaat Fashion 076 met zilveren stempellak aangebracht.

It’s almost the end of the month. I’m wearing Catrice ICONails 130 Meeting Vibes in two coats with an accent nail. On my ring finger I added an image from KADS stamping plate Fashion 076 with a silver stamping polish.

Polished for Days Enchanted Rose

De laatste manicure van de maand was Polished for Days Enchanted Rose. Ik draag het in twee laagjes. In de zon zie je het holografisch effect, in de schaduw de shimmer. Een hele mooie nagellak.

The final manicure of the month is Polished for Days Enchanted Rose. I’m wearing it in two coats. In the sun it’s very holographic, in the shade the shimmer takes over. It’s a very pretty polish.

Summer pedicures 2024

Het is september en het weer begint af te koelen. Zomerschoenen worden al minder gedragen en de tijd van pedicures is bijna voorbij. Tijd om jullie allemaal te vertellen welke nagellakken ik op mijn tenen heb gedragen deze zomer. Ik laat mijn voeten niet zien, maar nagellak swatches op mijn duim. Elke pedicure heb ik ongeveer drie weken gedragen.

It’s September and the weather is cooling, so summer shoes are less worn en pedicure time is almost over. Time to tell you what I wore for pedicures this summer. I’m not showing feet, but thumb swatches of the polishes worn. I wore every nail polish colour for approximately three weeks.

Essence 70 Sunset Lover

De eerste “zomer pedicure” was begin mei met Essence 70 Sunset Lover. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes top coat. Het is een warme nude shade.

OPI Here Today … Aragon Tomorrow

Daarna droeg ik een kleur van OPI. Ik koos voor de donkergroene Here Today … Aragon Tomorrow. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes met top coat.

Next I wore an OPI shade. I chose for the dark green Here Today … Aragon Tomorrow. I wore it in three coats with top coat.

Essence Crystal Power 06 be passionate

Daarna koos ik voor een blauwgroene kleur van Essence. Dit is Essence Crystal Power 06 be passionate in twee laagjes met top coat.

Next I chose a teal shade by Essence. This is Essence Crystal Power 06 be passionate in two coats with top coat.

Dance Legend 894

Na een neutrale kleur en groene tinten, ging ik over op roze en rode tinten. Als eerste droeg ik Dance Legend 894. Dit is een neon roze tint en ik droeg het in twee laagjes met top coat.

After wearing a neutral colour and shades of green, I changed to pink and red shades. First I wore Dance Legend 894. This is a bright pink and I wore it in two coats with top coat.

Essence Harley Quinn HOLO BOMB 01 XOXO, Harley

Daarna droeg ik Essence Harley Quinn XOXO, Harley. Dit is een lichtrode holografische nagellak. Nadat de nagellak volledig droog was, had het een mooie holografische flare. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes met top coat.

Next I wore Essence Harley Quinn XOXO, Harley. It’s a light red holographic nail polish. After the polish dried completely it had a nice holographic flare. I wore it in two coats with top coat.

Sally Hansen Beautiful Berry

De laatste pedicure was met Sally Hansen Beautiful Berry. Dit is een donkerrode bessenkleur. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes met top coat.

The last pedicure was with Sally Hansen Beautiful Berry. This is a dark red berry shade. I wore it in three coats with top coat.

Nu het seizoen voorbij is, worden de voeten uiteraard nog steeds verzorgd. Maar de nagels zijn nu zonder lak of met een transparante lak, zoals Catrice 146 Clear As That.

Now the season of colourful pedicures has ended, I will continue to take care of my feet. But the toe nails will stay bare or only with a transparent nail polish, like Catrice 146 Clear As That.

Augustus was een mooie zomermaand. Met het gezin zijn we ook op vakantie geweest en ik had wat nagellakken ingepakt. Ik nam vooral wat mini’s mee en ik pakte ook wat water decals in. Alle manicures zijn gedragen met base coat en top coat.

August was a nice summer month. I went on holiday with the family and I packed some polishes. I packed mostly mini’s and I brought some water decals along. All manicures were worn with base coat and top coat.

Essie in the you-niverse

De eerste manicure van de maand was geïnspireerd op de kleuren van de hortensia. Ik draag hier Essie in the you-niverse in twee laagjes. Het is een roze nagellak met een koele ondertoon.

Daarna droeg ik Essie haute to trot. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Het is een heldere roze lak, erg zomers.

De eerste vakantie manicure was Essie Lieblingsmensch. Ik draag het in twee laagjes. Het is een mooie rode nagellak.

De tweede vakantie mani was met twee lakken van Essence holo bomb. Ik draag alles in twee laagjes. Ik draag 03 hoLOL en als accent nagel 01 Ridin’ Holo. HoLOL is een lichtpaarse holografische nagellak en Ridin’ Holo is een zilveren holografische nagellak met een blauwe shimmer. Op de accent nagel bracht ik ook een water decal aan.

The second holiday mani was with two nail polish from Essence holo bomb line. I wear them both in two coats. The main colour is 03 HoLOL and the accent is 01 Ridin’ Holo. HoLOL is light purple holographic nail polish and Ridin’ Holo is a silver holographic nail polish with a blue shimmer. On the accent nail I added a water decal.

Catrice Hop hop hooray with CK hallucinate

De derde vakantie mani is met een deel van de Catrice mini lakken van de Hop, hop, hooray collectie (Lente / pasen 2022). Op mijn duim en ringvinger draag ik C05 Soft Breeze, een periwinkle kleur. Op mijn middelvinger en pink draag ik C04 Lavender Bouquet, een lichtpaarse kleur. Op mijn wijsvinger draag ik C03 Spring Fling, een mintgroen. Over alle kleuren bracht ik CK hallucinate aan, een topper met kleine iriserende glittertjes.

The third holiday mani was with a part of the Catrice mini polishes of the Hop, hop, hooray collection (spring / easter 2022). On my thumb and ring finger nail I’m wearing C05 Soft Breeze, a periwinkle shade. On my middle finger and pinky nail I’m wearing C04 Lavender Bouquet, a light purple shade. On my pointer finger nail I’m wearing C03 Spring Fling, a mint green shade. Over all the nails I added a layer of CK Hallucinate. This is a topper with small iridescent glitter.

Essie Aruba blue

Vakantie mani nummer vier is met Essie Aruba blue. Dit is een blauwe nagellak met shimmer en ik draag het in twee laagjes. Als accent nagel herhaalde ik Essence 01 Ridin’ Holo. Daar bracht ik ook een water decal op aan. Helaas was ik wat slordig bij het lakken en heb ik op mijn wijsvinger wat nagellak onder de nagelriem gekregen.

Holiday mani number four is a combination of Essie Aruba blue and Essence 01 Ridin’ Holo. Aruba blue is a blue nail polish with shimmer and I wear it in two coats. As accent nail I repeated Essence 01 Ridin’ Holo. And I added a water decal on the accent nail. Sadly I had some trouble painting my nails that evening and I flooded the cuticle of my pointer finger.

Catrice LE C01 Delicate Pink Nails with Catrice060 Prism Universe

De laatste vakantie mani was een combinatie van Catrice LE C01 Delicate Pink Nails en Catrice Dream in Holo blast 060 Prism Universe. Ik draag twee laagjes van Delicate Pink Nails en een laagje van Prism Universe. Deze combinatie maakte mij erg blij.

The final holiday mani was a combination of Catrice LE C01 Delicate Pink Nails and Catrice Dream in Holo blast 060 Prism Universe. I’m wearing two coats of Delicate Pink Nails and one layer of Prism Universe. This combination made me very happy!

A-England Chamuel

Bij thuiskomst koos ik voor A England Chamuel. Ik draag het in twee laagjes, maar het was al dekkend bij het eerste laagje. Chamuel is een warme roze kleur met holografische finish.

For the first mani back home I chose A England Chamuel. I’m wearing it in two coats, but the first coat gave full coverage. Chamuel is a warm pink with holographic effect.

Essie break it sundown with OPI Suzi Chases Portu-geese

De volgende manicure was geïnspireerd door de gele zonnehoedjes in de tuin van de buurvrouw. Ik draag Essie break it sundown in drie laagjes met OPI Suzi Chases Portu-geese in drie laagjes op de middelvinger en ringvinger. Met twinkled T Saucey stempelde ik een afbeelding van KADS stempelplaat Nature 056. Met een dotting tool en Catrice Brown collection 01 Fashion Addicted vulde ik de harten van de bloemen in.

The next manicure was inspired by the yellow coneflowers in the garden of the neighbours. I’m wearing Essie break it sundown in three coats. On my middle finger and ring finger I’m wearing three coats of OPI Suzi Chases Portu-geese. With Twinkled T Saucey I stamped an image from KADS stamping plate Nature 056. With a dotting tool I filled in the hearts of the flowers with Catrice Brown collection 01 Fashion Addicted.

Essie the it-factor

De laatste manicure van augustus is een diepe roze kleur. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van Essie the it-factor. Dat paste bij het mooie zomerweer dat we genoten aan het einde van de maand.

The last manicure of August is a deep pink colour. I’m wearing two coats of Essie the it-factor. This matched the nice summer weather we were enjoying at the end of the month.

De maand Juli was een echte Hollandse zomermaand met regelmatig zomerse dagen afgewisseld met wisselvallige perioden. Toch gaf het weer ook inspiratie om zomerse nagellakken te dragen. Elke manicure is gedragen met base coat en top coat.

July was a month with typical Dutch summer weather. We had sunny warm days and rainy and overcast days. Despite the changes in the weather is gave plenty of inspiration to wear the summer nail polishes. Every manicure is worn with base and top coat.

Kruidvat high gloss Nail Color 170 neon raspberry

De eerste manicure van de maand was met Kruidvat Nail Color 170 neon raspberry en Catrice ICONails 142 Rose Quartz. Beide nagellakken zijn in twee laagjes aangebracht. Kruidvat neon raspberry is dekkend genoeg om mee te stempelen. De afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat Flower 055.

The first manicure of the month was with Kruidvat Nail Color 170 neon raspberry and Catrice ICONails 142 Rose Quartz. Both polishes are worn in two coats. Kruidvat neon raspberry is pigmented enough to use for stamping. The image comes from KADS stamping plate Flower 055.

Catrice Gold Effect 08 Noble Poshness met A-England The Wizard

Daarna koos ik voor Catrice Gold Effect Noble Poshness (twee laagjes) met een laagje van The Wizard. Als accent had ik een water decal aangebracht. Helaas was de afbeelding niet goed zichtbaar, misschien had een andere kleur als achtergrond/ondergrond een betere keuze geweest. Maar deze combinatie was wel erg mooi in de zon.

Next I chose Catrice Gold Effect Noble Poshness (two coats) with one coat of The Wizard. As accent I added a water decal. Sadly the image was not really visible, maybe I should have chosen a different nail polish as background. But the combination of polishes was very pretty in the sun.

Dam nail polish Bite Me Sparkle Fangs

We hadden kaartjes voor het concert van P!nk in Amsterdam. Dat wist ik natuurlijk al een tijdje en daar had ik deze nagellak van Dam voor apart gezet. Ik draag het in drie laagjes met glitter smoothing top coat en gewone top coat. De nagellak bestaat uit een mix van roze glitters, zilveren holografische glitters en reflective glitter in een roze transparante lak. Als accent stempelde ik met zwarte stempellak een afbeelding van een muzieknoot van stempelplaat BP-47. Omdat deze nagellak ontzettend schitterde in de volle zon, heb ik de foto in halfschaduw genomen. Anders kon de camera niet scherp stellen!

We had concert tickets to P!nk in Amsterdam. I knew that for some time beforehand and had this nail polish from Dam set aside for it. I’m wearing it in three thin coats with glitter smoothing top coat and regular top coat. The nail polish is a pink jelly with a mix of pink microglitter, silver holographic glitter en reflective glitter. As accent I stamped an image from stamping plate BP-47 with black stamping polish. This nail polish sparkled a lot in the sun. So I had to take the picture in half-shade or the camera could not focus!

OPI Liquid Sand nail polish Get your number

Na P!nk was het tijd voor de verjaardag mani van Zoon. Hij vond de glitters van de vorige mani erg interessant, dus hij vroeg of ik zoiets in blauw had. Dat was een lastige vraag. Uiteindelijk herinnerde ik mij OPI Get your number. Ik draag het in twee laagjes. Dit is een liquid sand effect nagellak. Maar als je daar glitter smoothing top coat en gewone top coat op aanbrengt, kon ik in de buurt komen. Zoon vond deze nagellak een goede keuze. Als accent nagel stempelde ik een afbeelding met verjaardagsslingers van KADS stempelplaat mini 032.

After P!nk it was time for the birthday manicure for Son. He liked the sparkle and glitter of the last manicure and asked if I had it in blue too. That was a difficult question. Then I remembered I have OPI Get your number. I applied two coats. This is a liquid sand effect nail polish. If you finish it with a glitter shooting top coat and an ordinary top coat it will be slightly comparable. Son liked this option. As accent nail polish I added an image of birthday decorations from KADS stamping plate mini 032.

Orly Synthetic Symphony

Daarna koos ik Orly Synthetic Symphony. Ik doeg het in twee laagjes met een accent nail art gestempeld met Hit the bottle stempellak in Psycho Pink. De afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat Summer 004. Deze nagellak is met recht een cult classic.

Next I chose Orly Synthetic Symphony. I wore it in two coats with an accent nail arts stamped with Hit the bottle stamping polish Psycho Pink. The image is from KADS stamping plate Summer 004. This nail polish is a cult classic and after wearing it I do agree.

Dam nail polish I’m in a Flurry

Toen koos ik voor Dam nail polish I’m in a Flurry. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Deze nagellak is dag 10 van de adventskalender uit 2023. Ik vond het een prachtige nagellak. Het is een diepe magenta nagellak met een blauwe shimmer.

Then I chose Dam nail polish I’m in a Flurry. I’m wearing it in three coats. This nail polish is day 10 from de 2023 advent calendar. I loved this nail polish. It’s a red leaning magenta with blue shimmer.

Masura nail polish Jelly Gold

Toen koos ik Masura Jelly Gold als onderbreking van de fellere zomer kleuren. Ik draag het in drie laagjes.

Then I took a break from bright summer colours with Masura Jelly Gold. I wore it in three coats.

Essie geranium with topper

Toen was het snel weer terug naar de zomerkleuren. Nu koos ik voor Essie geranium in twee laagjes met een laagje van Catrice Galactic Glow Watch Out! Universe Blaze.

Then I quickly returned to the bright summer colours. I chose to wear Essie geranium in two coats with one coat of Catrice Galactic Glow Watch Out! Universe Blaze.

KBShimmer Wander-ful World en Essie bachelorette bash

Daarna koos ik voor KBShimmer Wander-full en Essie bachelorette bash. Ik draag beide nagellakken in twee laagjes. Over de Essie stempelde ik met de KBShimmer een afbeelding van KADS stempelplaat min 002. Op deze foto is de afbeelding van tropische bloemen niet zo zichtbaar, maar eigenlijk was het best goed gelukt.

Then I chose to wear KBShimmer Wander-full and Essie bachelorette bash. I wear both nail polishes in two coats. I stamped on top of the Essie with the KBShimmer an image from KADS stamping plate min 002. The image is not really visible on this picture, but in real life it was a succes.

De laatste manicure van de maand bestond uit twee laagjes Catrice ICONails Raspberry Pie met een laagje Star Dust. Iedere keer als ik in de zon kwam was het prachtig om de holo te zien schitteren.

The last manicure of the month was two coats of Catrice ICONails Raspberry Pie with one coat of Star Dust. Every time my nails were in the sun the beautiful holo was a happy distraction.

Polishes I wore in June 2024

Het duurde tot de tweede helft van de maand voordat het weer een beetje warmer en zonniger werd. Op mooie dagen nam ik mijn foto’s met bloemen in de tuin. Die is door de vele regendagen heel groen. De vaste planten en de seizoensbloeiers bloeien prachtig.

The first half of June was very rainy and cold, we had to wait until the second half of the month for better weather and more sun. On sunny days I took my polish pictures in the garden near the flowers. The garden loved all the rain and is very green. The regular annuals en perennials flowered beautifully.

Essie Gel Couture dress call

De eerste manicure van de maand was met Essie Gel Couture dress call in twee laagjes met top coat. Het was een grijs en regenachtig weekeinde, maar mijn nagels gaven gelukkig nog wat lente. Het is een mooie lilatint.

The first manicure for the month was worn during an overcast and rainy weekend. Luckily my nails gave some spring with Essie Gel Couture dress call in two coats with top coat. It’s a beautiful shade of lilac.

Nicole by OPI Yellow It’s Me with accent nail art

Het was nog steeds regenachtig en grijs dus koos ik voor een gele nagellak. Nu weet ik dat Yellow It’s Me niet volledig dekt, maar wel een mooie shimmer heeft. Daarom bracht ik eerst 1 laagje Catrice 68 Turn the lights on en daarna twee laagjes Nicole by OPI Yellow It’s Me. Als accent bracht ik op mijn duim en ringvinger OPI Pearl Diver in drie laagjes aan met water decals. Ik werkte alles af met een top coat.

It was still overcast and rainy, so I chose a yellow manicure. I know that Yellow It’s Me is not fully opaque, but it has a pretty shimmer. So I used one coat of Catrice 68 Turn the lights on as undie and added two coats of Nicole by OPI Yellow It’s Me. As accent on thumb and ring finger nail I painted three coats of OPI Pearl Diver and added water decals. Everything was finished with a top coat.

Essie Gel Couture sunrush metal

De volgende zonnige kleur tijdens de regenachtige dagen was Essie Gel Couture sunrush metal in drie laagjes met top coat. De kleur was niet helemaal zoals ik had gehoopt, want het was meer oranje dan koraalkleurig tegen mijn huidskleur.

The next sunny colour during rainy days was Essie Gel Couture sunrush metal. I wore it in three coats with top coat. The colour was more orange than coral against my skin tone, so I didn’t love it completely.

Essence Holobomb 02 Holo Moly

Zodra er meer zonnige perioden kwamen, koos ik voor de holografische nagellakken. De eerste was Essence Holo Moly. Ik draag het in twee laagjes met top coat. Als alles droog is (ook de top coat), is de nagellak ontzettend holografisch. Prachtig!

As soon as the sunny periods came, I chose for holographic nail polishes. The first one was Essence Holo Moly. I’m wearing it in two coats with top coat. After everything is fully dried (including the top coat), you can see the holo rainbows. I loved it.

A England Elizabeth with accent nail art

Daarna koos ik voor A England Elizabeth. Als accent nail art droeg ik Catrice ICONails 162 Plummy Yummy in twee laagjes met een laagje essence 01 Deer Me, Keep Sparkling! en een bloemenafbeelding van BornPretty stempelplaat BP-X38 Daisy. Elizabeth draag ik ook in twee laagjes. En alles is afgewerkt met een laagje top coat.

Next I chose A England Elizabeth. As accent nail art I chose Catrice ICONails 162 Plummy Yummy in two coats with one coat of essence 01 Deer Me, Keep Sparkling! and a flower image from BornPretty stamping plate BP-X38 Daisy. I wore Elizabeth in two coats. And everything was made extra shiny with a layer of top coat.

Essence 04 Bonbon Babe in jelly sandwich

Daarna had ik zin in flakies. Ik had recent Bonbon Babe gekocht van de essence Jelly lijn. Deze jelly nagellakken zijn licht geparfumeerd. Ik creëerde een “jelly sandwich” door eerst een laag Bonbon Babe, dan een laagje Colores de Carol Flame en daarna weer een laagje Bonbon Babe. Met een laagje top coat was het klaar.

Next I wanted to wear flakies. I had just bought Bonbon Baby from the essence Jelly nail polishes. These jelly polishes are slightly perfumed. I made a “jelly sandwich” by first painting a layer of Bonbon Babe, than a layer of Colores de Carol Flame and then another layer of Bonbon Baby. I finished it off with a layer of top coat.

Essie cute as a button with Pride month nail art

Ik probeer in juni ook meestal een pride nail art te dragen. Deze keer wilde ik een accent nail art maken in regenboog kleuren met een hartjes stempel. De afbeelding komt van Dashica Infinity Nails 88 en ik heb de volgende stempellakken gebruikt: KADS (rood en blauw, komen uit een set en hebben geen naam of nummer), Twinkled T Sausey (als oranje), Hit the bottle Lemon Meringue Fizz (licht geel), Hit the bottle Cactus Juice (groen), CJS nummer 016 (paars). De basis is Catrice ICONails 149 Vanilla Chai. De andere nagels hebben twee laagjes Essie cute as a button. Daarna is alles afgewerkt met een laagje top coat.

In June I try (in most years) to wear a pride nail art. This year I wanted to create an accent nail art in rainbow colours with a heart pattern. The stamping image is from Dashica stamping plate Infinity Nails 88 and I used the following stamping polishes: KADS (red and blue, the come from a set and don’t have a name or number), Twinkled T Saucey (as orange), Hit the bottle Lemon Meringue Fizz (light yellow), Hit the bottle Cactus Juice (green), CJS number 016 (purple). The base is Catrice ICONails 149 Vanilla Chai. The other nails are in two coats Essie cute as a button. Everything is topped off with a layer of top coat.

A England Peaseblossom a Fairy

Daarna droeg ik een oudere A England namelijk Peaseblossom a Fairy. Ik draag het in twee laagjes met top coat. Als accent draag ik een dunne lijnen stempel van een vlinder op een bloem van KADS Nature 069.

Next I wore an older A England polish: Peaseblossom a Fairy. I’m wearing it in two coats with top coat. As accent I wore a thin line stamping image of a butterfly on flower from KADS Nature 069.

Essie backseat besties with Catrice Rose Side Of Life

Essie backseat besties with Catrice Dream in Glowy Blush 080 Rose Side Of Life

De volgende manicure was met Essie backseat besties. Deze droeg ik in twee laagjes en daarover deed ik de topper Catrice Dream in Glowy Blush 080 Rose Side Of Life. Als accent stempelde ik wat paardenbloem pluisjes van KADS stempelplaat Flower 065. Daarna werkte ik het af met een laagje top coat.

The next manicure was with Essie backseat besties. I wore this in two coats and topped it with Catrice Dream in Glowy Blush 080 Rose Side Of Life. As accent I stamped an image of dandelion fluff from KADS stamping plate Flower 065. Then I finished it with a layer of top coat.

Cadillacquer If You’re A Bird, I’m A Bird

Toen startte eindelijk de zomer met warm en zonnig weer. Tijd om een nagellak met reflective glitter te dragen. Ik koos voor Cadillacquer If You’re A Bird, I’m A Bird. Deze nagellak heeft een sterke paarse naar perzik naar groene shimmer en groene reflective glitter. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes met een laagje glitter smoothing top coat en een gewone top coat.

Then it finally was warm and sunny summer weather. Time to wear a polish with reflective glitter. I chose to wear Cadillacquer If You’re A Bird, I’m A Bird. It’s a green polish with a strong purple to peach to green shimmer and green reflective glitter. I wore it in three coats with a glitter smoothing top coat and a regular top coat.

ILNP Misbehaving

De laatste nagellak van de maand was ILNP Misbehaving. Dit is een neon roze nagellak met holografische flakes. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes met top coat.

The last manicure of the month was ILNP Misbehaving. This is a neon pink nail polish with holographic flakes. I wore it in three coats with top coat.
