Polishes I wore in July 2024

De maand Juli was een echte Hollandse zomermaand met regelmatig zomerse dagen afgewisseld met wisselvallige perioden. Toch gaf het weer ook inspiratie om zomerse nagellakken te dragen. Elke manicure is gedragen met base coat en top coat.

July was a month with typical Dutch summer weather. We had sunny warm days and rainy and overcast days. Despite the changes in the weather is gave plenty of inspiration to wear the summer nail polishes. Every manicure is worn with base and top coat.

Kruidvat high gloss Nail Color 170 neon raspberry

De eerste manicure van de maand was met Kruidvat Nail Color 170 neon raspberry en Catrice ICONails 142 Rose Quartz. Beide nagellakken zijn in twee laagjes aangebracht. Kruidvat neon raspberry is dekkend genoeg om mee te stempelen. De afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat Flower 055.

The first manicure of the month was with Kruidvat Nail Color 170 neon raspberry and Catrice ICONails 142 Rose Quartz. Both polishes are worn in two coats. Kruidvat neon raspberry is pigmented enough to use for stamping. The image comes from KADS stamping plate Flower 055.

Catrice Gold Effect 08 Noble Poshness met A-England The Wizard

Daarna koos ik voor Catrice Gold Effect Noble Poshness (twee laagjes) met een laagje van The Wizard. Als accent had ik een water decal aangebracht. Helaas was de afbeelding niet goed zichtbaar, misschien had een andere kleur als achtergrond/ondergrond een betere keuze geweest. Maar deze combinatie was wel erg mooi in de zon.

Next I chose Catrice Gold Effect Noble Poshness (two coats) with one coat of The Wizard. As accent I added a water decal. Sadly the image was not really visible, maybe I should have chosen a different nail polish as background. But the combination of polishes was very pretty in the sun.

Dam nail polish Bite Me Sparkle Fangs

We hadden kaartjes voor het concert van P!nk in Amsterdam. Dat wist ik natuurlijk al een tijdje en daar had ik deze nagellak van Dam voor apart gezet. Ik draag het in drie laagjes met glitter smoothing top coat en gewone top coat. De nagellak bestaat uit een mix van roze glitters, zilveren holografische glitters en reflective glitter in een roze transparante lak. Als accent stempelde ik met zwarte stempellak een afbeelding van een muzieknoot van stempelplaat BP-47. Omdat deze nagellak ontzettend schitterde in de volle zon, heb ik de foto in halfschaduw genomen. Anders kon de camera niet scherp stellen!

We had concert tickets to P!nk in Amsterdam. I knew that for some time beforehand and had this nail polish from Dam set aside for it. I’m wearing it in three thin coats with glitter smoothing top coat and regular top coat. The nail polish is a pink jelly with a mix of pink microglitter, silver holographic glitter en reflective glitter. As accent I stamped an image from stamping plate BP-47 with black stamping polish. This nail polish sparkled a lot in the sun. So I had to take the picture in half-shade or the camera could not focus!

OPI Liquid Sand nail polish Get your number

Na P!nk was het tijd voor de verjaardag mani van Zoon. Hij vond de glitters van de vorige mani erg interessant, dus hij vroeg of ik zoiets in blauw had. Dat was een lastige vraag. Uiteindelijk herinnerde ik mij OPI Get your number. Ik draag het in twee laagjes. Dit is een liquid sand effect nagellak. Maar als je daar glitter smoothing top coat en gewone top coat op aanbrengt, kon ik in de buurt komen. Zoon vond deze nagellak een goede keuze. Als accent nagel stempelde ik een afbeelding met verjaardagsslingers van KADS stempelplaat mini 032.

After P!nk it was time for the birthday manicure for Son. He liked the sparkle and glitter of the last manicure and asked if I had it in blue too. That was a difficult question. Then I remembered I have OPI Get your number. I applied two coats. This is a liquid sand effect nail polish. If you finish it with a glitter shooting top coat and an ordinary top coat it will be slightly comparable. Son liked this option. As accent nail polish I added an image of birthday decorations from KADS stamping plate mini 032.

Orly Synthetic Symphony

Daarna koos ik Orly Synthetic Symphony. Ik doeg het in twee laagjes met een accent nail art gestempeld met Hit the bottle stempellak in Psycho Pink. De afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat Summer 004. Deze nagellak is met recht een cult classic.

Next I chose Orly Synthetic Symphony. I wore it in two coats with an accent nail arts stamped with Hit the bottle stamping polish Psycho Pink. The image is from KADS stamping plate Summer 004. This nail polish is a cult classic and after wearing it I do agree.

Dam nail polish I’m in a Flurry

Toen koos ik voor Dam nail polish I’m in a Flurry. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Deze nagellak is dag 10 van de adventskalender uit 2023. Ik vond het een prachtige nagellak. Het is een diepe magenta nagellak met een blauwe shimmer.

Then I chose Dam nail polish I’m in a Flurry. I’m wearing it in three coats. This nail polish is day 10 from de 2023 advent calendar. I loved this nail polish. It’s a red leaning magenta with blue shimmer.

Masura nail polish Jelly Gold

Toen koos ik Masura Jelly Gold als onderbreking van de fellere zomer kleuren. Ik draag het in drie laagjes.

Then I took a break from bright summer colours with Masura Jelly Gold. I wore it in three coats.

Essie geranium with topper

Essie geranium topped with Catrice Galactic Glow 05 Watch Out! Universe Blaze

Toen was het snel weer terug naar de zomerkleuren. Nu koos ik voor Essie geranium in twee laagjes met een laagje van Catrice Galactic Glow Watch Out! Universe Blaze.

Then I quickly returned to the bright summer colours. I chose to wear Essie geranium in two coats with one coat of Catrice Galactic Glow Watch Out! Universe Blaze.

KBShimmer Wander-ful World en Essie bachelorette bash

KBShimmer Wander-ful World with Essie bachelorette bash

Daarna koos ik voor KBShimmer Wander-full en Essie bachelorette bash. Ik draag beide nagellakken in twee laagjes. Over de Essie stempelde ik met de KBShimmer een afbeelding van KADS stempelplaat min 002. Op deze foto is de afbeelding van tropische bloemen niet zo zichtbaar, maar eigenlijk was het best goed gelukt.

Then I chose to wear KBShimmer Wander-full and Essie bachelorette bash. I wear both nail polishes in two coats. I stamped on top of the Essie with the KBShimmer an image from KADS stamping plate min 002. The image is not really visible on this picture, but in real life it was a succes.

De laatste manicure van de maand bestond uit twee laagjes Catrice ICONails Raspberry Pie met een laagje Star Dust. Iedere keer als ik in de zon kwam was het prachtig om de holo te zien schitteren.

The last manicure of the month was two coats of Catrice ICONails Raspberry Pie with one coat of Star Dust. Every time my nails were in the sun the beautiful holo was a happy distraction.

Polishes I wore in June 2024

Het duurde tot de tweede helft van de maand voordat het weer een beetje warmer en zonniger werd. Op mooie dagen nam ik mijn foto’s met bloemen in de tuin. Die is door de vele regendagen heel groen. De vaste planten en de seizoensbloeiers bloeien prachtig.

The first half of June was very rainy and cold, we had to wait until the second half of the month for better weather and more sun. On sunny days I took my polish pictures in the garden near the flowers. The garden loved all the rain and is very green. The regular annuals en perennials flowered beautifully.

Essie Gel Couture dress call

De eerste manicure van de maand was met Essie Gel Couture dress call in twee laagjes met top coat. Het was een grijs en regenachtig weekeinde, maar mijn nagels gaven gelukkig nog wat lente. Het is een mooie lilatint.

The first manicure for the month was worn during an overcast and rainy weekend. Luckily my nails gave some spring with Essie Gel Couture dress call in two coats with top coat. It’s a beautiful shade of lilac.

Nicole by OPI Yellow It’s Me with accent nail art

Het was nog steeds regenachtig en grijs dus koos ik voor een gele nagellak. Nu weet ik dat Yellow It’s Me niet volledig dekt, maar wel een mooie shimmer heeft. Daarom bracht ik eerst 1 laagje Catrice 68 Turn the lights on en daarna twee laagjes Nicole by OPI Yellow It’s Me. Als accent bracht ik op mijn duim en ringvinger OPI Pearl Diver in drie laagjes aan met water decals. Ik werkte alles af met een top coat.

It was still overcast and rainy, so I chose a yellow manicure. I know that Yellow It’s Me is not fully opaque, but it has a pretty shimmer. So I used one coat of Catrice 68 Turn the lights on as undie and added two coats of Nicole by OPI Yellow It’s Me. As accent on thumb and ring finger nail I painted three coats of OPI Pearl Diver and added water decals. Everything was finished with a top coat.

Essie Gel Couture sunrush metal

De volgende zonnige kleur tijdens de regenachtige dagen was Essie Gel Couture sunrush metal in drie laagjes met top coat. De kleur was niet helemaal zoals ik had gehoopt, want het was meer oranje dan koraalkleurig tegen mijn huidskleur.

The next sunny colour during rainy days was Essie Gel Couture sunrush metal. I wore it in three coats with top coat. The colour was more orange than coral against my skin tone, so I didn’t love it completely.

Essence Holobomb 02 Holo Moly

Zodra er meer zonnige perioden kwamen, koos ik voor de holografische nagellakken. De eerste was Essence Holo Moly. Ik draag het in twee laagjes met top coat. Als alles droog is (ook de top coat), is de nagellak ontzettend holografisch. Prachtig!

As soon as the sunny periods came, I chose for holographic nail polishes. The first one was Essence Holo Moly. I’m wearing it in two coats with top coat. After everything is fully dried (including the top coat), you can see the holo rainbows. I loved it.

A England Elizabeth with accent nail art

Daarna koos ik voor A England Elizabeth. Als accent nail art droeg ik Catrice ICONails 162 Plummy Yummy in twee laagjes met een laagje essence 01 Deer Me, Keep Sparkling! en een bloemenafbeelding van BornPretty stempelplaat BP-X38 Daisy. Elizabeth draag ik ook in twee laagjes. En alles is afgewerkt met een laagje top coat.

Next I chose A England Elizabeth. As accent nail art I chose Catrice ICONails 162 Plummy Yummy in two coats with one coat of essence 01 Deer Me, Keep Sparkling! and a flower image from BornPretty stamping plate BP-X38 Daisy. I wore Elizabeth in two coats. And everything was made extra shiny with a layer of top coat.

Essence 04 Bonbon Babe in jelly sandwich

Daarna had ik zin in flakies. Ik had recent Bonbon Babe gekocht van de essence Jelly lijn. Deze jelly nagellakken zijn licht geparfumeerd. Ik creëerde een “jelly sandwich” door eerst een laag Bonbon Babe, dan een laagje Colores de Carol Flame en daarna weer een laagje Bonbon Babe. Met een laagje top coat was het klaar.

Next I wanted to wear flakies. I had just bought Bonbon Baby from the essence Jelly nail polishes. These jelly polishes are slightly perfumed. I made a “jelly sandwich” by first painting a layer of Bonbon Babe, than a layer of Colores de Carol Flame and then another layer of Bonbon Baby. I finished it off with a layer of top coat.

Essie cute as a button with Pride month nail art

Ik probeer in juni ook meestal een pride nail art te dragen. Deze keer wilde ik een accent nail art maken in regenboog kleuren met een hartjes stempel. De afbeelding komt van Dashica Infinity Nails 88 en ik heb de volgende stempellakken gebruikt: KADS (rood en blauw, komen uit een set en hebben geen naam of nummer), Twinkled T Sausey (als oranje), Hit the bottle Lemon Meringue Fizz (licht geel), Hit the bottle Cactus Juice (groen), CJS nummer 016 (paars). De basis is Catrice ICONails 149 Vanilla Chai. De andere nagels hebben twee laagjes Essie cute as a button. Daarna is alles afgewerkt met een laagje top coat.

In June I try (in most years) to wear a pride nail art. This year I wanted to create an accent nail art in rainbow colours with a heart pattern. The stamping image is from Dashica stamping plate Infinity Nails 88 and I used the following stamping polishes: KADS (red and blue, the come from a set and don’t have a name or number), Twinkled T Saucey (as orange), Hit the bottle Lemon Meringue Fizz (light yellow), Hit the bottle Cactus Juice (green), CJS number 016 (purple). The base is Catrice ICONails 149 Vanilla Chai. The other nails are in two coats Essie cute as a button. Everything is topped off with a layer of top coat.

A England Peaseblossom a Fairy

Daarna droeg ik een oudere A England namelijk Peaseblossom a Fairy. Ik draag het in twee laagjes met top coat. Als accent draag ik een dunne lijnen stempel van een vlinder op een bloem van KADS Nature 069.

Next I wore an older A England polish: Peaseblossom a Fairy. I’m wearing it in two coats with top coat. As accent I wore a thin line stamping image of a butterfly on flower from KADS Nature 069.

Essie backseat besties with Catrice Rose Side Of Life

Essie backseat besties with Catrice Dream in Glowy Blush 080 Rose Side Of Life

De volgende manicure was met Essie backseat besties. Deze droeg ik in twee laagjes en daarover deed ik de topper Catrice Dream in Glowy Blush 080 Rose Side Of Life. Als accent stempelde ik wat paardenbloem pluisjes van KADS stempelplaat Flower 065. Daarna werkte ik het af met een laagje top coat.

The next manicure was with Essie backseat besties. I wore this in two coats and topped it with Catrice Dream in Glowy Blush 080 Rose Side Of Life. As accent I stamped an image of dandelion fluff from KADS stamping plate Flower 065. Then I finished it with a layer of top coat.

Cadillacquer If You’re A Bird, I’m A Bird

Toen startte eindelijk de zomer met warm en zonnig weer. Tijd om een nagellak met reflective glitter te dragen. Ik koos voor Cadillacquer If You’re A Bird, I’m A Bird. Deze nagellak heeft een sterke paarse naar perzik naar groene shimmer en groene reflective glitter. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes met een laagje glitter smoothing top coat en een gewone top coat.

Then it finally was warm and sunny summer weather. Time to wear a polish with reflective glitter. I chose to wear Cadillacquer If You’re A Bird, I’m A Bird. It’s a green polish with a strong purple to peach to green shimmer and green reflective glitter. I wore it in three coats with a glitter smoothing top coat and a regular top coat.

ILNP Misbehaving

De laatste nagellak van de maand was ILNP Misbehaving. Dit is een neon roze nagellak met holografische flakes. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes met top coat.

The last manicure of the month was ILNP Misbehaving. This is a neon pink nail polish with holographic flakes. I wore it in three coats with top coat.

A-England Jophiel and Catrice ICONails 173 Karl Said Tres Chic

De eerste manicure van de maand was een nail art met A-England Jophiel en Catrice ICONails 173 Karl Said Tres Chic. Beide kleuren draag ik in twee laagjes. De bloemen komen van stempelplaat KADS Fashion 078 en zijn gestempeld met Jophiel.

The first manicure of the month was a nail art with A-England Jophiel and Catrice ICONails 173 Karl Said Tres Chic. I’m wearing both polishes in two coats. The flower image is from stamping plate KADS Fashion 078 and I stamped with Jophiel.

Spring nail art

Daarna droeg ik een skittle manicure met ILNP Sugar high op wijsvinger en ringvinger. Op duim en pink draag ik Catrice ICONails 76 Do It, With Lavender. Op mijn middelvinger draag ik Catrice ICONails 165 Glacier Express. Als accent stempelde ik met Twinkled T Tickled een afbeelding van stempelplaat SdP 90.

Next I wore a skittle manicure with ILNP Sugar high on pointer finger nail and ring finger nail. On the thumb nail and pinky finger nail I wore Catrice 76 Do It, With Lavender. Om my middle finger nail I wore Catrice 164 Glacier Express. As accent I stamped an image from stamping plate SdP 90 with Twinkled T stamping polish Tickled. I wore everything in two coats.

Cuticula Party in Pink

Voor Moederdrag droeg ik Cuticula Party in Pink in drie laagjes. Het is een prachtige holografische nagellak met een klein beetje shimmer dat in schaduw wisselt tussen roze, perzik en groen. In de zon is het ontzettend holografisch. Een prachtige nagellak!

For Mother’s Day I wore Cuticula Party in Pink in three coats. It’s a beautiful nail polish with a little shimmer that in shade changes between pink, peach and green. In the sun it’s very holographic. It’s such a pretty polish!

Cuticula Morning Glory with accent nail art

Mei was een drukke maand, waardoor ik weinig tijd had voor nail art of accent nagels. Dit is de laatste nail art van de maand. Ik draag hier drie laagjes van Cuticula Morning Glory met een accent nail art met Essie bikini so teeny in twee laagjes. Ik bracht daar een water decal op aan die ik wat extra versierde met Wikkid polish Star Dust.

May was a very busy month in our personal life. So this the last time this month that I had time to create some nail art. I’m wearing three coats of Cuticula Morning Glory with an accent nail of Essie bikini so teeny in two coats. I added a water decal that I gave some sparkle with Wikkid polish Star Dust.

OPI Not so Bora-Bora-ing Pink

Daarna droeg ik een aantal dagen OPI Not so Bora-Bora-ing Pink. Ik draag het in twee laagjes. Deze roze kleur heeft een beetje parelmoer.

Next I wore OPI Not so Bora-Bora-ing Pink for a couple of days. I wore it in two coats. This pink colour has some pearl effect.

KBShimmer PBE’23 In The Loop

Vorig jaar konden we via een Europese verkoper een aantal nagellakken kopen die exclusief waren voor PBE, de Polish and Beauty Expo. Dit is een Amerikaans evenement voor Indie nagellak en beautymerken. Ik kocht dus KBShimmer In The Loop. Deze nagellak is geïnspireerd door een foto van een zonsondergang met alle kleuren die daarbij horen. Ik draag het in 3 laagjes.

Last year it was possible to buy some nail polishes at a European stockist that were exclusive to PBE. PBE or Polish and Beauty expo, is an American event for Indie nail polish and beauty brandes. I bought KBShimmer In The Loop. This polish was inspired by a picture of a sunset with all the colours. I wore it in three coats.

Essie feel the fizzle over L’Oréal Jardin des Roses

Na alle shimmer en holo flakes van de KBShimmer wilde ik het wat rustiger doen met een crème nagellak. Maar dat was toch te saai en dus deed ik er een topper over. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van L’Oréal Jardin des Roses en daarover twee laagjes van Essie feel the fizzle.

After all the shimmers and holo flakes of KBShimmer I wanted to wear a less distracting nail polish. But it turned out I was bored. So after a couple of hours I added a topper. In the end I was wearing two coats of L’Oréal Jardin des Roses topped with two coats of Essie feel the fizzle.

Dam nail polish Love at Frost Sight

De laatste manicure van de maand was weer een nagellak van de Dam Advent kalender van december 2023. Dit keer is het Dag 6, Love at Frost Sight. Het is een roze parelmoer nagellak met een shimmer die wisselt tussen geel, groen, blauw en roze. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Erg mooie nagellak!

The final manicure of the month was another nail polish from the Dam Advent calendar of December 2023. This time I wore Day 6, that is called Love at Frost Sight. It’s a pink pearl polish with colour changing shimmer that goes from yellow to green to blue to pink. I’m wearing it in two coats. Very beautiful polish!

Polishes I wore in April 2024

Begin april werden de bomen weer groen en was het mooi lenteweer. Daarna volgden een paar frisse weken. Daardoor droeg ik het liefst koele lila tinten. In totaal droeg ik 9 manicures. Alle nagellakken zijn gedragen met base coat en een top coat.

Early April started with the trees turning green again. It was also nice spring weather. After that a few colder weeks followed. That made me prefer cooler shades of lilac and light purple. In total I wore 9 manicures. All manicures are worn with base coat and top coat.

Cadillacquer Nailland Mystery Polish

Ik startte de maand met een nagellak die ik speciaal bewaard had voor vroege lente. Het is een lila nagellak met shimmer en groene glitter. Ik draag hier drie laagjes met een glitter smoothing top coat en een regular top coat. Als accent heb ik een takje met blaadjes aangebracht. De afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat Nature 070.

I started the month with a nail polish I had saved for early spring. It’s a light purple nail polish with shimmer and green glitters. I’m wearing it in three coats with a glitter smoothing top coat and a regular top coat. As accent I stamped an image of a twig with leaves. The image is from KADS stamping plate Nature 070.

Cadillacquer Cradle of Echoes

Daarna koos ik voor nog een groene manicure. Ik draag hier drie laagjes Cradle Of Echoes met undies (een passende crème nagellak voor een dekkend resultaat). Als accent draag ik op de ringvinger Masura Mint Breeze en een stempel van KADS Flowers 052 met mintgroene stempellak.

Next I wore another green manicure. I’m wearing three coats of Cadillacquer Cradle Of Echoes with undies (a matching cream nail polish for a more full coverage result). As accent I’m wearing on the ring finger Masura Mint Breeze and a stamping image from KADS Flowers 052 with a mint green stamping polish.

Essence Holo Rainbow 05 holo fever

Door het koelere weer wat daarna volgde, had ik een voorkeur voor de koelere kleuren van mijn lente selectie. Hier draag ik twee laagjes Essence Holo Rainbow 05 holo fever met glitter smoothing top coat en top coat. Deze nagellak is heel erg holografisch! Het lukte mij niet om deze nagellak goed te fotograferen in de zon.

The colder weather made me gravitate to the cooler shades on my nail polish rack for spring. Here I’m wearing two coats of Essence Holo Rainbow 05 holo fever with a glitter smoothing top coat and regular top coat. This is a very holographic nail polish! I didn’t succeed to picture this polish in the full sun. My camera didn’t like the bright sparkles and couldn’t focus.

Dam nail polish Say Freeze!

Daarna koos ik voor deze lichtblauwe shimmer nagellak van Dam. Ik draag Say Freeze! in twee laagjes. Als accent heb ik een afbeelding van KADS Flower 043 in lichtroze aangebracht.

Next I chose this light blue shimmer polish from Dam nail polish. I’m wearing Say Freeze! in two coats. As accent I added an image from KADS Flower 043 in light pink.

Catrice ICONails 135 Doll Side Of Life with topper

Catrice ICONails 135 Doll Side Of Life with Catrice Dream In 060 Prism Universe

Vervolgens koos ik voor Catrice ICONails 135 Doll Side Of Life. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes met een laagje Catrice Dream In 060 Prism Universe. Ik wilde deze topper heel graag uitproberen. In deze topper hebben we een mix van holografische shimmer en rode shimmer. Als accent plaatste ik een stempel die helaas uitvloeide onder invloed van de top coat. Toch vond ik het aquarel effect mooi genoeg om het een aantal dagen te dragen.

I wore Catrice ICONails 135 Doll Side Of Life in two coats. I chose it to wear with Catrice Dream In 060 Prism Universe. I just really wanted to try this topper. This topper is a mix of holographic shimmer and red shimmer. As accent I placed an image from stamping plate BM-XL209. Sadly the image became less sharp after adding top coat. But I liked the water colour effect enough to wear this manicure for a couple of days.

ILNP Celeste

Daarna droeg ik ILNP Celeste in drie laagjes met accent gestempeld van KADS Min 029. Deze afbeelding lijkt op vallende bloemblaadjes. Het holografische effect van deze nagellak is erg mooi en de camera werkte nu wel mee.

I wore ILNP Celeste in three coats with an accent from KADS Min 029. This stamping image reminds me of falling blossoms. The holographic affect of Celeste is very beautiful and the camera cooperated to capture it.

A England A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Deze nagellak van A England wacht als sinds 2019 om gedragen te worden. Eind 2018 kocht een aantal nagellakken van A England en begin 2019 bestelde ik nog een paar kleuren, waaronder A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Dit is een hele mooie holografische nagellak met shimmer. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes.

I finally wore this polish by A England. It’s been waiting to be worn since 2019. By the end of 2018 I bought a couple of colours from A England en early 2019 I ordered a couple more colours, with A Midsummer Night’s Dream among other polishes. This is a very beautiful holographic nail polish with shimmer. I wore it in three coats.

King’s Day Manicure 2024

Voor koningsdag droeg ik een oranje nagellak. Ik koos voor Catrice LE Hop, hop hooray reloaded C04 Morning Glory in twee laagjes met stempel in goud van BornPretty stempelplaat BP-L104. Op mijn ringvinger stempelde ik een afbeelding met kleine kroontjes en op mijn duim een grote kroon.

For King’s Day I wore an orange nail polish I chose for Catrice LE Hop, hop hooray reloaded C04 Morning Glory in two coats and added stamping images in gold from BronPretty stamping plate BP-L104. On my ring fingers I stamped an image of small little crowns an on my thumbs I stamped a large crown image.

KBShimmer Peony Pincher

De laatste nagellak van de maand is KBShimmer Peony Pincher. Ik draag deze nagellak in twee laagjes. Wederom een hele mooie holografische nagellak!

The final manicure of the month is with KBShimmer Peony Pincher. I’m wearing this polish in two coats. Again a very beautiful holographic nail polish.

Het eerste kwartaal van het nieuwe jaar is alweer voor bij. Voor de maand maart droeg ik tot St. Patrick’s vooral groene nagellak. Daarna droeg ik nog wat lakken van mijn winter selectie. De maand eindigde met mijn paas manicure. Elke manicure wordt gedragen met base coat en top coat.

The first quarter of the year had ended. For the month of march I wore mostly green manicures until St. Patrick’s Day. Then I wore the final few of my winter rack. The month ended with Easter, so that’s the theme for my final manicure of the month. Every manicure is worn with base and top coat.

OPI Makes Men Blush

Ik startte de maand met een neutrale manicure. Ik droeg drie laagjes van OPI Makes Men Blush. De nagellak heeft een hele subtiele shimmer die je niet echt terug ziet op je nagels.

I started the month with a neutral manicure as palette cleanser. I wore OPI Makes Men Blush in three coats. The nail polish has a very subtle pink shimmer that’s not really visible on the nails.

Dam nail polish There’s Snow Place Like Home

Eerste groene manicure van de maand was Dam nail polish There’s Snow Place Like Home uit mijn adventskalender. Ik draag drie dunne laagjes met glitter grabber en top coat. De nagellak bestaat uit UCC flakes die groen-goud-blauwe kleur hebben en blauwe reflective glitter. Als accent nagel stempelde ik een takje met groene stempellak van stempelplaat KADS Fashion 081.

This is my first green manicure of the month. This is Dam nail polish There’s Snow Place Like Home from last year’s advent calendar. I’m wearing it in three thin coat with a glitter grabber under my top coat. The nail polish had UCC flakes shifting between green, gold and blue and blue reflective glitter. As accent nail I stamped an image from stamping plate KADS Fashion 081 with green stamping polish.

Catrice ICONails 124 Believe in Jade

Volgende groene manicure was Catrice ICONails Believe in Jade met een gouden pinknagel met You Glow My Mind. Eenvoudig, maar wel passend bij het seizoen.

The next green manicure was Catrice ICONails Believe in Jade with a gold accent pinky nail with You Glow My Mind. Simple, but fitting for the season.

Catrice Dream In Jelly Sparkle 040 Jelly Crush

Daarna onderbrak ik de groene manicure met Catrice Dream In 040 Jelly Crush (Jelly Sparkle). Ik draag het in drie laagjes met twee lagen top coat, want de flakes geven een minder glad resultaat. Erg mooie nagellak van Catrice!

I took a break from the green manicures with this polish from Catrice. This is Catrice Dream In 040 Jelly Crush (Jelly Sparkle). I’m wearing it in three coats with two coats of top coat. The flakes give a bit of texture to the finish. It’s very beautiful!

Essence Holo Bomb 04 Holo It’s Me

Nu zijn we weer terug bij de groene manicures. Toevallig was het erg grijze weer met af en toe regen, maar toen er een reepje zon langskwam heb ik meteen een foto gemaakt. Deze prachtige holografische nagellak is essence Holo Bomb 04 Holo It’s Me. Ik draag het in twee laagjes met een stempel van gouden klavertjes vier. De afbeelding van de stempel komt van stempelplaat KADS Flower 062.

And we’re back to the green manicures. Most of the time when I wore this manicure we had grey overcast skies and some rain. When the sun was around for a moment, I immediately took this picture. This beautiful holographic nail polish is essence Holo Bomb 04 Holo It’s Me. I’m wearing it in two coats and added an accent nail with stamped clovers in gold. The stamping image is from stamping plate KADS 062.

DA Nails 007 Vintage Pink

Ik had een tweede onderbreking nodig in mijn reeks van groene manicures. Dit is DA Nails 007 Vintage Pink in twee laagjes.

I needed a short second break in the green manicure streak. This is DA Nails 007 Vintage Pink in two coats.

ILNP On the way with accent of Rogue Lacquer Shattered Rainbows

Dit is de laatste groene mani en deze heb ik gedragen op St Patricks. Dit is ILNP On the way in drie laagjes met Rogue Lacquer Shattered Rainbows als accentkleur, wederom ook in drie laagjes. Dit was een hele spiegelende manicure, toch is het gelukt om de kleur vast te leggen met beperkte reflectie.

This is de final green manicure and this is the manicure I wore for St Patricks Day. This is ILNP On the way in three coats with accent nail Rogue Lacquer Shattered Rainbows, again in three coats. This manicure had a mirror like shine, but I managed to capture the colours with minimal reflection.

A-England Gabriel in nail art

A-England Gabriel, Essie dance ‘til dawn, Essie chinchilly

Om nog een selectie van mijn winter nagellakken te dragen, heb ik deze combinatie samengesteld. Op mijn duim en ringvinger draag ik A-England Gabriel, op mijn wijs en middelvinger Essie dance ‘til dawn en op mijn pink chinchilly. Ik draag alle lakken in twee laagjes. Ik stempelde met Gabriel een afbeelding van stempelplaat Dashica Infinity Nails 96.

I created this manicure to wear a final selection of my winter polishes. On my thumb nail and ring finger nail I’m wearing A-England Gabriel, om my pointer finger nail and middle finger nail it’s Essie dance ‘til dawn. And on my pinky nail it’s Essie chinchilly. I’m wearing them all in two coats. To finish it off I added an image from stamping plate Dashica Infinity Nails 96 with Gabriel.

KBShimmer Cubicle Pusher

Daarna droeg ik KBShimmer Cubicle Pushesr in twee laagjes. Het is een holografische nagellak die qua kleur wel wat weg heeft van Essie chinchilly.

Next I wore KBShimmer Cubicle Pusher in two coats. This is a holographic nail polish that resembles Essie chinchilly in colour.

OPI I’ll Have a Gin & Tectonic

Kort voor Pasen maakte ik mijn eerste lente manicure. Ik koos voor OPI I’ll Have a Gin & Tectonic. De accent nagel creëerde ik met twee toppers en een stempel. De eerste topper is essence LE Mesmerizing glitter top coat 01 Believe In Mermagic! Dit is een iridiscent flake topper. Daarna gebruikte ik Wikkid polish Star Dust. De afbeelding komt van KADS Flower 051.

In the week leading up to Easter I wore my first spring manicure. I chose to wear OPI I’ll Have a Gin & Tectonic in two coats. The accent nail was created with two toppers and a stamped image. The first topper is essence LE Mesmerizing glitter top coat 01 Believe In Mermagic! This is an iridescent flake topper. Than I added Wikkid Polish Star Dust. I finished it of with an image from KADS Flower 051.

Catrice LE Hop, hop hooray reloaded C03 Egg-cellent

Mijn laatste manicure van de maand is voor Pasen. De basis is Catrice LE Hop, hop hooray reloaded C03 Egg-cellent in twee laagjes. Daarover draag ik een laagje van Max Factor Shimmer Top Coat 102 Starry Veil. Voor de accent nagel plaatste ik een stempel van Bundle Monster BM-XL217. Daarna plaatste ik een decal van vergeet-me-nietjes.

My final manicure of the month is for Easter. The base is Catrice LE Hop, hop hooray reloaded C03 Egg-cellent in two coats. Then I added a layer of Max Factor Shimmer Top Coat 102 Starry Veil. As accent nail I placed a stamping image from Bundle Monster BM-XL217. Then I added a decal of forget-me-nots.

Aan het begin van de maand lukte het mij om twee keer per week mijn nagels te lakken. Vanaf Valentijnsdag droeg ik mijn manicures langer. Ik draag elke manicure met base coat en top coat.

I started the month off with regular manicure changes. From Valentine’s Day on I wore my manicures for more days. I wear every manicure with base and top coat.

Catrice LE Metaface C02 Cyber Beauty

Ik startte de maand met een sparkelende manicure bestaande uit een laagje Catrice More than Nude 10 Cloudy Illusion, een laagje Catrice LE Metaface C02 Cyber Beauty en een laagje KBShimmer Out of Sequins. Net als vorig jaar geïnspireerd op een indie lak. En net als vorig jaar vond ik het erg leuk.

I started the month with a sparkling manicure consisting of a coat of Catrice More than Nude 10 Cloudy Illusion, a coat of Catrice LE Metaface C02 Cyber Beauty and a coat of KBShimmer Out of Sequins. Just like last year it was inspired by an indie nail polish. And just like last year I liked it a lot.

Kruidvat nail color 195 soft heather with KBShimmer Ice And Easy

Daarna kwam deze manicure. Ik draag twee laagjes Kruidvat nail color soft heather en een laagje KBShimmer Ice And Easy. Als accent stempelde ik een afbeelding met rozen van Moyra plaat mini 104.

Here’s the next manicure. I’m wearing two coats of Kruidvat nail color soft heather and a layer of KBShimmer Ice And Easy. I stamped an image from Moyra mini 104 as accent nail art.

Nicole by OPI Best Pink Ever with accent nail art

Hierna droeg ik Nicole by OPI Best Pink Ever (drie laagjes) met accent nail art. Op mijn ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 142 Rose Quartz met stempel Twinkled T Tickled van KADS Festival 017. Best Pink Ever is een roze jelly nagellak tjokvol met micro flakes die wisselen tussen blauw, fuchsia en geel. Het is een hele levendige roze kleur.

Next I wore Nicole by OPI Best Pink Ever in three coats with accent nail art. On my ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Catrice ICONails 142 Rose Quartz stamped with Twinkled T Tickled from KADS Festival 017. Best Pink Ever is a pink jelly nail polish filled with lots of micro flakes that shift between blue, pink and yellow. It’s a very entertaining pink.

Wikkid Air and Wikkid Cosmic Dust

Ik had behoefte aan een sparkelende manicure, maar wist dat ik door mijn agenda aan de neutrale kant moest blijven. Dus ik koos voor deze combinatie. Ik startte met twee laagjes Catrice More than Nude 07 Nudie Beauty, daarna een laagje Wikkid Polish Air en tot slot een laagje Wikkid Polish Cosmic Dust. Vervolgens stempelde ik alle nagels beige harten met een afbeelding van Dashica Infinity Nails 88.

I was craving a sparkling manicure, but I knew from my agenda that I had to stay on the neutral side of things. So I created a combination of two coats of Catrice More than Nude 07 Nudie Beauty, than a coat of Wikkid Polish Air and I finished with a coat of Wikkid Polish Cosmic Dust. Than I stamped on all nails a heart image from Dashica Infinity Nails 88 with beige.

Valentine’s Day manicure: Catrice Heart Affair LE C03 Love Game with accent nail art

Dit is de manicure die ik voor Valentijnsdag plande. Ik gebruikte twee laagjes base coat, maar helaas had ik toch een paar punten op mijn nagels (waar de twee lagen base coat kennelijk wat dunner waren geweest) rode vlekken. Dus let op bij deze nagellak. Catrice Heart Affair LE C03 Love Game is ontzettend mooi! Ik draag twee laagjes en het dekt heel mooi. Deze rode nagellak is vol met zilveren en rode flakes. Als accent nagel draag ik twee laagjes van essence out of space 01 outta space is the place. Dat is een lichtroze nagellak met shimmer. Daarover plaatste ik een water decal.

This is my Valentine’s Day manicure. I used two coats of base coat, but sadly had a few spots of staining (probably where the two coats of base coat were al little thinner). So be careful! The polish Catrice Heart Affair LE C03 Love Game is very beautiful! I’m wearing it in two coats for full coverage. This red is full with silver and red flakes. As accent nail I’m wearing two coats of essence out of space 01 outta space is the place. This is a light pink with shimmer. For nail art I placed a water decal on top.

ILNP Get Cozy

Daarna koos ik voor ILNP Get Cozy, een zachtroze ultra holo nagellak. Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Als accent stempelde ik een afbeelding van KADS Nature 070.

Then I chose ILNP Get Cozy a blush pink ultra holo nail polish. I’m wearing it in three coats. As accent nail I added an image from KADS Nature 070 with a plum coloured stamping polish.

Dam nail polish Sugar Plum Fairies

Mijn laatste manicure februari is Dam nail polish Sugar Plum Fairies van de adventskalender (2023). Ik draag het in drie laagjes. De nagellak heeft een paarse basiskleur met een shimmer die van wisselt tussen groen, blauw en donkerblauw. Als accent nail art stempelde ik een afbeelding van KADS Flower 052 met een paarse stempellak.

My final manicure of februari is Dam nail polish Sugar Plum Fairies from the advents calendar (2023). I’m wearing it in three coats. This nail polish has a purple base colour and a colour shifting shimmer that goes from green to blue to dark blue. As accent nail art I stamped an image from KADS Flower 052 with a purple stamping polish.

Deze eerste maand van het jaar ben ik goed gestart met al mijn voornemens. Ik heb deze maand acht manicures gehaald! Om niet steeds in herhaling te vallen: alle manicures zijn gedaan met een base coat en top coat.

The first month of the year was a good start with my goals for this year. I made it to eight manicures this month! To prevent repetition: all manicures were created with base and top coat.

Pantone Colour of the Year manicure: Peach Fuzz

Het is mijn gewoonte om mij voor de eerste manicure van het jaar te laten inspireren door de Pantone kleur van het jaar. Dit jaar is het Peach Fuzz. Helaas is dit geen favoriete kleur van mij. Ik heb wel wat mogelijke opties in mijn nagellak collectie gevonden. Op mijn duim en pink heb ik twee laagjes Catrice ICONails 107 Peach Me. Op mij lijkt het erg oranje, maar dat komt door mijn ondertoon. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger heb ik VIER laagjes Essie back in the limo. Dit is een semi transparante nagellak, maar je kan het opbouwen als je er het geduld voor heb. Op mijn ringvinger heb ik drie laagjes Essie pure chiffon. De afbeeldingen komen van stempelplaat KADS Flower 065. Ik gebruikte de Peach Me om mee te stempelen.

Usually I start the year with a manicure in the colour of the year by Pantone. This year it’s Peach Fuzz. I don’t really like this colour, but I did find a few options in my nail polish collection. On my thumb nail and pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of Catrice ICONails 107 Peach Me. On my skin tone it pulls very orange. On my pointer finger nail and middle finger nail I’m wearing FOUR coats of Essie back in the limo. This is a semi transparent nail polish, but you can build it to full coverage with a little patience. On my ring finger nail I’m wearing three coats of Essie pure chiffon. The stamping images are from stamping plate KADS Flower 065 and I used Catrice Peach Me to stamp.

Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable and Every Day I’m Shoveling (12 Dam Days of Polish)

Daarna wilde ik deze twee nagellakken van mijn adventskalender dragen. Ik draag hier Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable (dag 3) met Dam nail polish Every Day I’m Shoveling (dag 2, magnetisch) als accent nagel. Un-brr-lieveable heeft ook reflective glitter en twinkelt mooi in zonlicht. Ik draag beiden in twee laagjes. Un-brr-lieveable heeft ook een glitter smoothing top coat onder mijn gewone top coat.

Then I wanted to wear these two nail polishes from my advent calendar. Here I’m wearing Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable (Day 3) with Dam nail polish Every Day I’m Shoveling (Day 2, magnetic) as accent nail. Un-brr-lieveable has reflective glitter and has a nice twinkle in the sun. I’m wearing both polishes in two coats. Un-brr-lieveable has a glitter smoothing top coat under my regular top coat for a smooth finish.

China Glaze Pearl Jammin’ and ILNP Snow Angel

Dit is een van mijn favoriete manicures van de maand. Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink draag ik China Glaze Pearl Jammin’ in drie laagjes. Op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger draag ik drie laagjes ILNP Snow Angel. Daarover heb ik met BMC Storm Cloud sneeuwvlokken gestempeld van stempelplaat BP-01.

This is one of my favourite manicures of the month. On my thumb nail, pointer finger nail and pinky I’m wearing China Glaze Pearl Jammin’ in three coats. On my middle finger nail and ring finger nail I’m wearing three coats of ILNP Snow Angel. On those fingers I stamped snow flakes from stamping plate BP-01 with BMC Storm Cloud.

A-England Ariel, Essie merino cool and OPI Krona-logical Order

Dit is een andere favoriete manicure van deze maand. Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en middelvinger draag ik twee laagjes Essie merino cool. Op mijn ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes A-England Ariel. Op mijn pink draag ik twee laagjes OPI Krona-logical Order. Op mijn middelvinger heb ik met Ariel een afbeelding gestempeld met KADS Fashion 096.

This is another favourite manicure of this month. On my first three fingers I’m wearing two coats of Essie merino cool. On my ring finger I’m wearing two coats A-England Ariel. I used Ariel to stamp an image of KADS Fashion 096 on my middle finger. On my pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of OPI Krona-logical Order.

Cuticula Below Zero and Essie virgin snow with nail art

En deze manicure was een favoriet van Dochter, omdat ze het haar deed denken aan Elsa en Anna van Frozen. Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink draag ik drie laagjes Cuticula Below Zero. Op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes Essie virgin snow. Daarover heb ik een sneeuw patroon geplaatst van stempelplaats KADS Christmas 021 met een lichtblauwe metallic stempellak. Op mijn ringvinger plaatste ik daarover een sneeuwvlok van stempelplaat KADS Christmas 030 met een roze stempellak.

And this manicure was a favourite of Daughter, because it reminded her of Elsa and Anna from Frozen. On my thumb nail, pointer finger nail and pinky I’m wearing three coats of Cuticula Below Zero. On my middle finger and ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Essie virgin snow. On top I stamped a snow pattern from stamping plate KADS Christmas 021 with a light blue metallic stamping polish. On my ring finger nail I added a pink snow flake from stamping plate KADS Christmas 030.

Essie Gel Couture tassel free with Sally Hansen miracle gel 914 Frost Bright

Daarna had ik minder tijd voor nail art, dus droeg ik twee laagjes Essie tassel free met daarover twee laagjes van Sally Hansen Frost Bright.

Then I had less time to create nail arts, so I wore this manicure with two coats of Essie tassel free with two coats of Sally Hansen Frost Bright.

Catrice ICONails 12 Creaming Of You with ILNP Empress

Daarna koos ik weer voor een combinatie met een topper. Deze keer droeg ik twee laagjes van Catrice Creaming Of You met daarover een laagje ILNP Empress.

Then I chose to wear another combination with a topper. This time I wore two coats of Catrice Creaming Of You with a coat of ILNP Empress.

Cadillacquer Winter Berries with accent nail art

Dit was mijn laatste manicure van de maand. Ik draag hier drie laagjes Cadillacquer Winter Berries. Op mijn ringvinger heb ik een accent nail art van winterbessen. Ik stempelde een afbeelding van KADS Nature 070 met bruine stempellak. Daarna bracht ik met een dotting tool met rode nagellak kleur aan op de besjes.

This was my last manicure of the month. I’m wearing three coats of Cadillacquer Winter Berries. On my ring finger nail I added an accent nail art of winter berries. I stamped an image from KADS Nature 070 with a brown stamping polish. Then with a dotting tool I coloured the berries red.

2023 in review, favourite manicures and plans for 2024

2023 in review

De eerste maand van 2023 had ik nagedacht over de blog en mijn collectie van nagellak. Mijn goede voornemens waren:
– low buy,
– seizoensgebonden selecties maken,
– toppers gebruiken en
– gewoon mijn collectie gebruiken!

De low buy is niet helemaal goed gegaan. Ik heb uiteindelijk vaker een online bestelling voor indie nagellakken geplaatst dan de bedoeling was. Mijn aankopen in de drogisterijen (Kruidvat, DA en Etos) wist ik beter te managen. In totaal was het aantal gekochte nagellakken niet zo veel als in andere jaren. Dus het was niet slecht, maar kan beter volgend jaar.

Het maken van seizoensgebonden selecties is erg goed gelukt, net als het gebruiken van de toppers en het gebruiken van nagellakken die niet meer te koop zijn.

Ik schatte in dat ik 2023 startte met ongeveer 500 nagellakken. Maar daar zat ik flink naast. Toen ik toch eens ging kijken of ik alles in Lacquergram had staan, klopte dat helaas niet. Naast de gekochte nagellakken bleek ik nog ruim 200 nagellakken nooit ingevoerd te hebben in de app. (Een hele opbergdoos en nog wat meer). Dus ik eindig het jaar met net iets meer dan 800 nagellakken.

Uiteindelijk zijn dit mijn statistieken voor het jaar.
– In totaal droeg ik 132 verschillende nagellakken, dat was 16,2% van de collectie.
– Ik droeg 81 manicures, gemiddeld bijna 7 per maand.
– In totaal heeft 45% van de collectie een eigen foto of swatch in Lacquergram.

The first month of 2023 I reflected on blog and my nail polish collection. I formulated the following resolutions:
– low buy,
– seasonal selections,
– use the toppers and
– just use the collection!

The low buy wasn’t fully successful this year. I ordered more often online than my intention was, but the indie nail polishes were so beautiful this year. The low buy on drugstore polishes was more successful. In total I bought less polishes then in previous years. So it wasn’t a bad year, but next year should be better.

I got better at making seasonal selections. Also using nail polish toppers has improved. And using polishes that are no longer available was also less stressful.

I estimated that I started 2023 with approximately 500 nail polishes. Boy was I wrong. When I checked if I had added everything to Lacquergram, I missed a whole box and a little more. In total I had missed more than 200 polishes. Add the new ones I bought this year and I now have slightly more than 800 polishes.

These are the statistics for 2023:
– In total I wore 132 different polishes, that is 16,2% of the collection.
– I wore 81 manicures, that is almost 7 manicures a month.
– In total 45% of the collection had a picture or swatch by me in Lacquergram.

Plans for 2024

Op basis van hoe het ging in 2023, heb ik mijn doelen voor 2024 bedacht.

Mijn doelen voor 2024 zijn:
– Maar een (1) online bestelling voor heel 2024, bij voorkeur op Black Friday of voor een Advents kalender;
– Aankopen bij de drogisterijen zijn toegestaan in de winkel;
– 15% van de collectie dragen;
– Ongedragen of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken hebben voorrang;
– Doorgaan met seizoensgebonden selecties;

Looking at how things went down in 2023, I formulated my goals for 2024.

My goals for 2024 are:
– Just one online order for 2024, preferably on Black Friday or for a nail polish Advents calendar;
– Buying polish in the drugstores is allowed;
– Wear 15% of the collection;
– Unworn or not photographed nail polishes have priority;
– Making seasonal selections;
– Get more than 50% of the collection photographed in Lacquergram.

Catrice Chrome Infusion nail lacquer 04 Unexpected Red

De eerste feestdag van december is natuurlijk Sinterklaas. Ik droeg daarvoor een bruinrode nagellak, namelijk twee laagjes van Catrice Chrome Infusion nail lacquer 04 Unexpected Red met een stempel van een afbeelding van stempelplaat Dashica Nails 007.

The first big holiday in December in the Netherlands is Saint Nicholas. For that holiday I was wearing Catrice Chrome Infusion nail lacquer 04 Unexpected Red and stamped an image from stamping plate Dashica Nails 007.

Catrice ICONails 82 Get Lost in Red You Love

Na Sinterklaas droeg ik een kerstachtige nail art, maar nog wel subtiel. Als basis gebruikte ik Catrice ICONails 82 Get Lost in Red You Love in twee laagjes. Op mijn duimnagel, middelvinger en pink deed ik er nog een laagje over van Catrice Dream In 050 Sparkle Darling. Op mijn wijsvinger en ringvinger plaatste ik een afbeelding van stempelplaat KADS Christmas 030 met een rose gold stempellak.

After Saint Nicholas I wore my first Christmas nail art, but I kept it subtle. As base I used Catrice ICONails 82 Get Lost in Red You Love in two coats. On my thumb nail, middle finger nail and pinky I added a layer of Catrice Dream In 050 Sparkle Darling. On my pointer finger nail and ring finger nail I added an image from KADS Christmas 030 with a rose gold stamping polish.

OPI Mod About You with Christmas nail art

Toen kwamen de eerste kerstfeestjes. Voor de eerste droeg ik een nail art die ik heb geïnspireerd op een nail art van Diana van somecallmecoco op YouTube. Op duimnagel, wijsvinger en pink draag ik twee laagjes van OPI Mod About You. Op mijn middelvinger draag ik twee laagjes Essie sweet soufflé met een afbeelding van stempelplaat BundleMonster (nu Maniology) + de_briz BM-XL215 met een roze stempellak (Hit the Bottle Bubblegum Bliss). Ik versierde de kerstboom met een dotting tool met Morgan Taylor Coming up Crystal. Op mijn ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes van Coming up Crystal met een glitter smoothing top coat onder mijn reguliere top coat.

Then Christmas party season started. For the first event I wore a nail art inspired by a nail art created by Diana from somecallmecoco on YouTube. On thumb nail, pointer finger nail and pinky I’m wearing two coats of OPI Mod About You. On my middle finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Essie sweet soufflé with an image from stamping plate BundleMonster (now Maniology) + de_briz BM-XL215 with a pink stamping polish (Hit the Bottle Bubblegum Bliss). I added sparkle to de Christmas tree with a dotting tool and Morgan Tailor Coming up Crystal. On my ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Coming up Crystal with a glitter smoothing top coat under my normal top coat.

Catrice ICONails 158 Deeply In Green and Orly Ephemeral

Voor het volgende Kerst evenement droeg ik Catrice ICONails 158 Deeply In Green met Orly Ephemeral. Ik draag de Catrice in twee laagjes en de Orly in drie laagjes. Over de Orly stempelde ik met de Catrice een kerst patroon dat komt van KADS Christmas 023.

For the next Christmas event I wore Catrice ICONails 158 Deeply In Green and Orly Ephemeral. I’m wearing the Catrice in two coats en the Orly in three coats. Over de Orly I stamped with the Catrice a Christmas pattern that comes from KADS stamping plate Christmas 023.

Essie gossamer garments

Voordat het echt Kerstavond zou zijn, koos ik ervoor om even een neutrale manicure als reset te dragen. Ik koos voor Essie gossamer garments en draag het in drie dunne laagjes.

My Christmas nail art for 2023

Toen was het echt Kerstavond en droeg ik de nail art die ik al vooraf gepland had. Op mijn duim nagel en ringvinger nagel draag ik drie laagjes van Zoya Alicia. Daarover stempelde ik een afbeelding van KADS stempelplaat Christmas 036 met een rode stempellak (Twinkled T Swerve). Op de andere nagels droeg ik twee laagjes van Essie roses are red. Op mijn wijsvinger nagel en pink bracht ik daarover nog een laagje aan van KBShimmer Out of Sequins voor wat extra sparkel. Op mijn middelvinger nagel stempelde ik dezelfde afbeelding van KADS stempelplaat Christmas 036 met een zilveren stempellak.

Over it I stamped an image from KADS stamping plate Christmas 036 with a red stamping polish (Twinkled T Swerve). On my other nails I wore two coats of Essie roses are red, On my pointer finger nail and pinky I added a layer of KBShimmer Out of Sequins for a little extra sparkle. On my middle finger nail I stamped the same image from stamping plate KADS Christmas 036 with a silver stamping polish.

Ik ben deze maand verwend met de 12 Dam Days of Polish advent kalender. Na kerst wilde ik er eentje dragen en koos voor Jack Frosties (Day 4). Ik draag het in drie laagjes. Als accent nagel bracht ik er een laagje over aan van essence 01 Deer Me, Keep Sparkling!, een kerstkadootje. Ook stempelde ik er een sneeuwvlok op van KADS stempelplaat Christmas 018. Daarvoor gebruikte L’Oréal 817 Saphir Treasure.

This month I was spoiled with the 12 Dam Days of Polish advent calendar. After Christmas I wanted to wear the first one. I chose for Jack Frosties (Day 4). I’m wearing it in three coats. As accent nail I added a layer of essence 01 Deer Me, Keep Sparkling!, that I received as a Christmas present. I also added a snowflake image from KADS stamping plate Christmas 018. I used L’Oréal 817 Saphir Treasure for the stamping.

KBShimmer Self-Reflection (R)

Mijn laatste manicure van de maand was voor Oud en Nieuw. Ik wilde glitterend jaar uit. Daarvoor koos ik KBShimmer Self-Reflection (R) in twee laagjes met een glitter smoothing top coat en daarover mijn reguliere top coat.

My final manicure this month was for New Year’s Eve. I wanted to end the year with a lot of sparkle. I chose KBShimmer Self-Reflection (R) in two coats with a glitter smoothing top coat and a normal top coat.

Deze maand heb ik niet helemaal bijgehouden welke stempellakken ik heb gebruikt. Dus als het er niet bij staat en je had het wel willen weten, sorry daarvoor.

Ik droeg deze maand van alles wat en ik probeerde weer eens een meer uitgebreide nail art te maken. Helaas zal ik daar wat meer voor moeten oefenen.

Catrice ICONails 99 Sand in Sight! with Essie as gold as it gets

Ik begon de maand met een neutrale manicure die ik wat extra’s had gegeven door middel van de topper. Ik was oktober geëindigd met een Halloween nail art en had behoefte aan een reset. Ik vond het een hele geslaagde combinatie. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 99 Sand in Sight! met een laagje Essie as gold as it gets. Uiteraard gecombineerd met een base coat en een top coat.

I started the month with a neutral manicure that I gave a little extra with a topper. I had ended October with a Halloween nail art and I wanted a reset. I liked this combination a lot. Here I’m wearing two coats of Catrice ICONails 99 Sand in Sight! topped with one coat Essie as gold as it gets. Of course I also wore base and top coat.

OPI Now Museum, Now You Don’t with nail art

Meestal geef ik mijzelf niet de tijd om een uitgebreide nail art te doen. Een klein accent, een snelle stempel, dat is allemaal zo gedaan. Nu had ik een keer wel genoeg tijd en ging ik lekker aan de slag. Ik nam een afbeelding van Bundlemonster BM-XL215 (nu Maniology) en kleurde deze in met drie verschillende kleuren nagellak (geel: Hema golden yellow; groen: essence I am what I am; bruin: etos Brunette). Helaas bleek dat ik dat al zo’n tijd niet meer gedaan had, dat ik niet zo goed binnen de lijntjes kon blijven… Als je maar een dingetje inkleurt is dat veel makkelijker. Daarbij pakte ik de verkeerde top coat en smeerde ik alles uit op mijn middelvinger. Toch heb ik dit een aantal dagen gedragen, want op een afstandje zag je alle foutjes minder goed. Daarbij vond ik de basiskleur erg mooi. Die bestond uit twee laagjes OPI Now Museum, Now You Don’t. Dus als je nail art wil blijven maken, is de les dat je ook regelmatig moet blijven oefenen!

Usually I don’t have the time (or give myself the time) to create a more elaborate nail art. A small accent, a quick stamp, those are all relatively quick to do. This time around I gave myself the space and time to just have fun. I took an image from Budlemonster BM-XL215 (now Maniology) and coloured it with three different nail polishes (yellow: Hema golden yellow; green: essence I am what I am; brown: etos Brunette). First lesson I learned is that colouring larger images asks for more practice. I had a very hard time staying within the lines. Second lesson I learned is to use the right top coat, because I smeared my middle finger nail. Still I wore it for a couple of days, because from a distance all the mistakes were not that visible. And I really loved the base colour I used, two layers of OPI Now Museum, Now You Don’t. So if you want to create nail art, you need to keep practicing all the different techniques!

KBShimmer Chroma Chameleon

Daarna koos ik voor een nagellak waar je geen nail art bij nodig hebt: een multichrome. KBShimmer Chroma Chameleon is een hele mooie en snel wisselende multichrome. De dominante kleuren die ik zag waren paars, brons, goud en groen. Ik draag drie laagjes met base en top coat.

Next I chose a nail polish that does not need nail art: a multichrome. KBShimmer Chroma Chameleon is a very pretty en reactive multichrome. The dominant colours that I saw were purple, bronze, gold and green. I’m wearing three coats with base and top coat.

Catrice ICONails 125 Toffee Dreams with toppers

Hierna koos ik voor een combinatie die leek op de verkleurde bladeren aan de bomen. Als basis droeg ik twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 125 Toffee Dreams. Daarover droeg ik een laagje van KBShimmer Raking it in en een laagje van Wikkid polish Gold Dust. Daarover deed ik nog top coat. Ik vond het een heel geslaagde combinatie.

Then I chose a combination to match the changing leaves on the trees. As the base I wore two coats of Catrice ICONails 125 Toffee Dreams. I topped it with one coat of KBShimmer Raking it in and one coat of Wikkid polish Gold Dust. Then I added a top coat. I liked this combination a lot.

essence Disney Mickey and Friends effect nail polish 02 Aw, phooey!

Deze nagellak van essence is van hun limited edition met Disney. Deze heeft een shimmer die van paars naar groen switcht. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van essence Disney Mickey and Friends effect nail polish 02 Aw, phooey! Afhankelijk van de hoek had ik een paarse glow of een groene glow op mijn nagels. De basiskleur vind ik moeilijk te beschrijven, een warme paarstint? Een pruimkleur? Ik weet het nog steeds niet.

This polish by essence is from their limited edition Disney collaboration. This polish has a special shimmer that switches between purple and green. I’m wearing two coats of essence Disney Mickey and Friends effect nail polish 02 Aw, phooey! Depending on the angle the light hit the nails I had a purple glow or a green glow on my nails. The base colour is hard to describe. Is it a warm purple, a plum? I still don’t know.

Catrice ICONails 113 Take Me To Tokyo

Daarna wilde ik een iets lichtere kleur. Ik koos voor Catrice ICONails 113 Take Me To Tokyo. In eerste instantie droeg ik het zo (twee laagjes met base en top coat). Een dag later deed ik er twee laagjes Sally Hansen Crystal Top Coat over.

Then I wanted something in a lighter shade. I chose Catrice ICONails 113 Take Me To Tokyo. The first day I wore it just like that (two coats with base and top coat). The next day I added two coats of Sally Hansen Crystal Top Coat.

OPI Less is Norse

De tactiek van een kleur een dag dragen en daarna versieren herhaalde ik met OPI Less is Norse. Ik droeg het eerst in twee laagjes met base en top coat. De dag erna bracht ik twee laagjes aan van ILNP Looking Glass en stempelde ik er in zilver een afbeelding op van stempelplaat Bundlemonster BM-XL222 (nu Maniology).

The tactic of wearing a colour for a day and then add a topper was repeated with OPI Less is Norse. I wore it first in two coats with base and top coat. The next day I added two coats of ILNP Looking Glass and I stamped in silver an image from stamping plate Bundlemonster BM-XL222 (now Maniology).

Wikkid polish Candy Floss (faded)

Mijn laatste manicure van de maand was met Wikkid polish Candy Floss. Deze nagellak was origineel een warme middenroze kleur. Maar nu na zoveel jaar is het verkleurd en een pastelkleurige roze tint met koele ondertoon. Ik heb deze nagellak een paar keer gedragen toen hij nog de originele kleur had, maar destijds niet gefotografeerd. Gelukkig is de nieuwe kleur ook mooi en zal ik het nog af en toe dragen. Het flesje heeft nog een ouderwets dun kwastje, dus ik had drie laagjes nodig voor volledige dekking.

My final manicure this month was Wikkid polish Candy Floss. Originally this polish was a midtone shade of warm pink. But after so many years it has faded and it is now a cool toned pastel pink. I wore this polish a couple of times when it still had the original shade, but I never took a picture with it. I also have a fill line on this bottle, but it’s not visible on the picture. Luckily for me I like the faded colour too, so I will still wear it from time to time. This bottle also still has the old thin brush, so I needed three coats for full coverage.
