Polishes I wore in October 2023

Deze maand heb ik iets meer manicures gedragen dan gemiddeld. In eerste instantie was herfst nog niet aan de orde aan het begin van de maand, maar de tweede helft van de maand had meer traditioneel herfstweer met koelere temperaturen en regen. Hierdoor kreeg ik echt zin om mijn herfstkleuren te dragen.

This month I wore slightly more manicures than average. At the start of the month the weather was still warm so it did not feel like fall yet, but the second half of the month had traditional fall weather. That change in the weather motivated me to start wearing my autumn selection.

BKL Bee’s Knees Lacquer You Can Bury Your Own Nuts!

De maand startte met de verjaardag van Dochter. Zij koos voor mij deze nagellak van BKL, omdat ze houdt van deze tint paars. Ik draag twee laagjes met top coat.

The month started with Daughter’s birthday. She chose as her birthday mani this polish by BKL, because she loves this shade of purple. I’m wearing two coats with top coat.

Nicole by OPI Grant my wish

Na de donkere start van de maand, droeg ik Nicole by OPI Grant my wish als neutraliserende manicure. Deze rozige parelmoer kleur dekte in twee laagjes. Uiteraard met top coat gedragen.

After the dark first mani of the month, I used Nicole by OPI Grant my wish as neutraliser. This pinkish pearly shade covered in two coats. Worn with top coat.

Vanwege het aanhoudende warme weer, ging ik voor een anti-herfst manicure. Een design dat ik eerder in herfst kleuren had gedragen, droeg ik deze keer in helder groen en geel. Voor het groen koos ik Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C06 Spring Meadow en voor het geel koos ik Essie Hay there. Beide draag ik in twee laagjes. Over Essie Hay there bracht ik een laagje Kinetics Silver Fairy Dust en stempelde ik een afbeelding van stempelplaat KADS Nature 013 met Hit the bottle Cactus Juice. Daarna werkte ik de hele manicure af met een glanzende top coat.

The warm weather was still going strong, so this time I did an anti-fall manicure. A design had worn in fall colours, was repeated in bright shades. For the green I chose Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C06 Spring Meadow and the yellow is Essie Hay there. I’m wearing them in two coats. A coat of Kinetics Silver Fairy Dust was added over Essie Hay there. Then I added an image from KADS Nature 013 with Hit the bottle Cactus Juice. I finished the manicure with a glossy top coat.

OPI The Color That Keeps On Giving with Essie galentine

Elke oktober draag ik minimaal één manicure die aandacht geeft aan Pinktober, de actiemaand die aandacht vraagt voor borstkanker. Dit jaar heb ik de manicure ook op instagram geplaatst met je bijbehorende hashtags voor het goede doel. Ik draag twee laagjes OPI The Color That Keeps On Giving met daarover een laagje Essie galentine. Als accentnagel draag ik een wolkje gemaakt met Catrice 02 Sweet as sugar met daarover een afbeelding van stempelplaat KADS Nature 069 met Hit the bottle Psycho Pink. Uiteraard werkte ik het af met top coat.

Every October I wear at least one manicure for Pinktober, the breast cancer awareness month. This year I did post the manicure on instagram with the right hashtags. I’m wearing two coats of OPI The Color That Keeps On Giving topped with one coat of Essie galentine. As accent nail I created a small cloud with Catrice 02 Sweet as sugar and added an image from stamping plate KADS Nature 069 with Hit the bottle Psycho Pink. Of course I finished it with a top coat.

OPI OPI by Popular Vote and Rogue Lacquer Dark Petals

Mijn volgende manicure bestond uit twee laagjes OPI by Popular Vote en een accentnagel van twee laagjes Rogue Lacquer Dark Petals. Een mooie overgangsmanicure passend bij het nazomerweer dat we nog hadden.

My next manicure was two coats of OPI by Popular Vote and an accent nail of two coats Rogue Lacquer Dark Petals. This was a pretty early fall manicure fitting for the relatively good weather we were still enjoying.

DA Nails 109 Brons Glitter and nail art

En toen sloeg het weer om en voelde het goed om een echte herfst nail art te maken. Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink draag ik drie laagjes van DA Nails 109 Brons Glitter. Op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes van essence 62 Walking On Sunshine met daarover een laagje van KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It. Daarna stempelde ik een afbeelding van KADS stempelplaat Nature 056 met een bruine stempellak.

And then the weather went over to true fall weather and I finally felt ready to create my first fall nail art. On my thumb nail, pointer finger nail and pinky finger nail I’m wearing three coats of DA Nails 109 Brons Glitter. On my middle finger nail and ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of essence 62 Walking On Sunshine topped with a layer of KBShimmer Take It Or Leaf It. Then I stamped an image from KADS stamping plates Nature 056 with a brown stamping polish.

ILNP Penny

Vorig jaar bracht ILNP een herfst collectie uit waarvan ik elke nagellak ontzettend mooi vond, maar ik mocht er van mijzelf maar eentje van kopen. Ik koos voor de rode kleur Penny. Ik draag het hier in twee laagjes met top coat. Ik denk nog steeds na over Autumn (bruin) en Hayride (lichtoranje).

Last years’ fall collection of ILNP was so pretty that I wanted every polish, but I allowed myself to pick only one. I chose the red one Penny. I’m wearing two coats with top coat. I’m still thinking about buying Autumn (brown) and Hayride (light orange).

Rogue Lacquer Ohio is where my heart is

Dit jaar heb ik weer eens een Halloween nail art gemaakt, dat doe ik niet elk jaar. Halloween wordt niet echt gevierd hier. Het was deze nagellak van Rogue Lacquer die voor een goed doel na de treinramp in Ohio was uitgebracht, die mij herfst/winter maar ook Halloween vibes gaf. Ik draag de nagellak in drie laagjes met een accentnagel van Essie press pause en een zelfgemaakte decal van een pompoen van stempelplaat BP-L099. De pompoen was ingekleurd met DA Nails nagellak 044 Orange County.

This year I was motivated to create a Halloween nail art, something I don’t do every year. Halloween is not really celebrated around here. It was this nail polish that Rogue Lacquer created after the train disaster in Ohio that gave me fall/winter but also Halloween vibes. I’m wearing the polish in three coats with an accent nail of Essie press pause. On top I placed a decal of a pumpkin I made of an image of stamping plate BP-L099. The colour I used for the pumpkin came from DA Nails 044 Orange County.

Ik houd nu weer een jaar de blog bij met mijn serie “Polishes I wore”. Als ik terug kijk, maakt het mij erg blij om de foto’s te zien van alle nagellakken die ik heb gedragen.

It’s a year since I started to blog regularly with my series “Polishes I wore”. Looking back at the pictures I’m very happy to see all the worn polishes.

Deze september startte met een kapotte computer, waardoor het tot het einde van de maand duurde voordat alles weer werkte. Het was een drukke maand, maar ik kon ook regelmatig mijn nagels lakken. Ik heb een heleboel gedragen! Het was een maand met zomers weer, dus ik droeg nog veel lakken van mijn zomerselectie.

September started with a computer that no longer worked. It took us until the end of the month before everything was up and running again. It was a busy month, but I could also paint my nails on regular basis. I wore a lot of polish! The weather was warm and felt like summer, so I wore many polishes from my summer nail polish rack.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer Darth Small

Mijn eerste nagellak van september was BKL Darth Small. Deze roze-rode kleur heeft holo flakes en een shimmer die rood-oranje-groen wisselt. Ik draag twee laagjes met top coat.

My first September nail polish was BKL Darth Small. This reddish pink shade has holo flakes and a red-orange-green shimmer. I’m wearing two coats with top coat.

Catrice Super Brights 040 Dragonfruit Popsicle with Colores de Carol Flame

Vanwege het warme zomerse weer, koos ik daarna voor Catrice Super Brights 040 Dragonfruit Popsicle met Colores de Carol Flame als topper. Dit was een heerlijke combinatie om te dragen. Ik draag twee laagjes van de Catrice en een laagje van Flame met top coat.

Because of the warm summer weather I chose Catrice Super Brights 040 Dragonfruit Popsicle next with Colores de Carol Flame as topper. It was a beautiful combination to wear. I’m wearing two coats of the Catrice polish with one coat of Flame and top coat.

KBShimmer Stay Toasty My Friends

Om toch wat overgang naar de herfst te voelen, droeg ik KBShimmer Stay Toasty My Friends. Dit is een multichrome die van roze naar oranje gaat en groen en blauw aan de randen. Daarbij zijn er kleine holografische flakes in de nagellak. Ik draag twee laagjes met top coat en het was prachtig.

To feel a bit of transition to autumn, I wore KBShimmer Stay Toasty My Friends. This is a multichrome polish that shifts from pink to orange and green and blue in extreme angles. It also has some small holographic flakes. I’m wearing two coats with top coat and it was lovely.

Catrice Dream In Jelly Sparkle nail polish 030 Sweet Jellousy

Daarna koos ik weer een zomerse nagellak uit de nieuwe release van Catrice. Ik draag hier drie laagjes van Catrice Dream In Jelly Sparkle nail polish 030 Sweet Jellousy met top coat.

Then I chose another summery nail polish from the release of Catrice. I’m wearing three coats of Catrice Dream In Jelly Sparkle nail polish 030 Sweet Jellousy and top coat.

Polished for days Glow Pop

Op de eerste dag van de astronomische herfst koos ik voor Polished for days Glow Pop. Deze zachtroze nagellak heeft een sterke kopergloed. Dat is voor mij een associatie met de warmere kleur en gloed die het zonlicht heeft. Ik draag twee laagjes met top coat.

On the first day of autumn I chose for Polished for days Glow Pop. This soft pink nail polish has a strong copper glow. I associate this glow with the warmer glow of the sun this time of year. I’m wearing two coats with top coat.

Catrice ICONails 167 Love It Or Leaf It with toppers

Aangezien alles nog groen is en er nog nauwelijks verkleurend blad te zien is, koos ik daarna voor deze combinatie. De basis is Catrice ICONails 167 Love It Or Leaf It. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van. Dit is een zachte saliegroen. Ik gebruikte Catrice ICONails 119 Stardust In A Bottle and KBShimmer Raking It In als toppers met top coat.

The world outside is still green and the leaves are hardly changing colour, so I chose to create this combination. The base is Catrice ICONails 167 Love It Or Leaf It, a soft sage green. I topped it with Catrice ICONails 119 Stardust In A Bottle and KBShimmer Raking It In and top coat.

Catrice Dream In Soft Glaze nail polish 020 Drunk’n Donut

Mijn laatste nagellak van september was ook uit de nieuwe release van Catrice. Catrice Dream In Soft Glaze nail polish 020 Drunk’n Donut is een transparante lichtroze nagellak met een shimmer die wisselt tussen een middenroze en lichtgoud. Ik draag drie laagjes met top coat.

My final polish for September was also from the new release by Catrice. Catrice Dream In Soft Glaze nail polish 020 Drunk’n Donut is a transparant light pink polish with a shimmer that shifts between a midtown pink and light gold. I’m wearing three coats with top coat.

Polishes I wore in August 2023

Het merendeel van de maand augustus waren we op vakantie. Ik had het een en ander aan nagellak meegenomen en veranderde regelmatig mijn manicure. Kort na terugkomst werd ik ziek. In de week dat ik ziek in bed lag, droeg ik geen nagellak. Net voor het einde van de maand wist ik nog een keer mijn nagels te lakken.

We were on holiday for the first three weeks of August. I brought some polish with me and changed my nails regularly. Shortly after coming home I fell ill en lay in bed for a week with bare nails. It was just at the end of the month that I managed to paint my nails again.

Catrice Neon Blast Nail Polish 04 Flashing Pink

Ik startte de maand met neon roze nagels. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van Catrice Neon Blast Nail Polish 04 Flashing Pink met top coat. Wat een fantastische nagellak, heel fel en droeg heel goed.

I started the month with neon pink nails. I’m wearing two coats of Catrice Neon Blast Nail Polish 04 Flashing Pink with top coat. It’s was so bright en it wore so well. I loved this mani.

ILNP Play Date

ILNP Play Date verraste mij enorm. Wat een fantastische nagellak is dit. Ik draag drie laagjes met top coat en een nail art sticker.

ILNP Play Date was a big surprise. What a great polish, colour, formula, everything. I’m wearing three coats plus top coat and a nail art sticker.

Essie not just a pretty face with Wikkid polish Star Dust

Inmiddels was ik toe aan iets neutralere nagels, daarvoor koos ik Essie not just a pretty face. Ik draag hier twee laagjes met daarover een laagje Wikkid polish Star Dust en top coat. Als accent nagel heb ik weer een nail art sticker aangebracht.

After two bright mani’s I wanted something more neutral. I chose Essie not just a pretty face. I’m wearing two coats with one coat of Wikkid polish Star Dust and top coat. For an accent I added a nail art sticker.

Nicole by OPI I’ve got the power

Ik had ook Nicole by OPI I’ve got the power meegenomen. Ik had deze metallic nagellak in geen jaren gedragen. Helaas begreep ik al snel waarom. De nagellak is lastig aan te brengen en het penseel in het potje is ook niet zo fijn. Daarbij is het een donkerroze kleur, maar de camera maakte het rood op de foto. Ik draag twee laagjes met top coat.

I also brought Nicole by OPI I’ve got the power with me. This pink metallic nail polish was not worn in years. And I quickly understood why. The polish is runny and the brush is not the best. The camera turned the dark pink shade into a red. I’m wearing two coats with top coat.

Essie watermelon

Mijn laatste vakantie manicure was met Essie watermelon. De camera had ook moeite met deze kleur en het is iets roder op de foto dan in werkelijkheid. Ik draag twee laagjes met top coat en een nail art sticker als accent.

My final holiday manicure was Essie watermelon. The camera also made this colour more red than it is in reality. I’m wearing two coats with top coat and a nail art sticker as accent.

ILNP Rosewater

Na een week ziek op bed met kale nagels, was mijn laatste manicure van de maand ILNP Rosewater. Ik had behoefte aan sparkles en dat heeft deze nagellak in overvloed. En in indirect licht heeft het een mooie roze shimmer. Ik had drie laagjes nodig om het volledig dekkend te krijgen. Als accent stempelde ik een afbeelding van stempelplaat KADS Festival 017 met Twinkled T stempellak Tickled.

After a week in bed with bare nails, I painted my last manicure of the month. I wanted sparkles and ILNP Rosewater has them in abundance. In indirect light this polish has a beautiful pink shimmer. I needed three coats for full coverage. As accent nail I stamped an image from stamping plate KADS Festival 017 with Twinkled T stamping polish Tickled.

Summer pedicures 2023

Helaas is er wat tijd overheen gegaan voordat ik weer een blog post kon schrijven. De computer was kapot gegaan. Gelukkig hebben we alle data weer terug kunnen zetten. Alleen zaten we wel wekenlang zonder computer.

Sorry for the unexpected absence. Our home computer had crashed. Luckily we were able to retrieve all our data, but it took a long time.

Om weer in het bloggen te komen laat ik eerst met duim swatches zien welke kleuren ik op mijn tenen heb gedragen. Ik draag een pedicure gemiddeld drie weken. Dit zijn alle kleurtjes die ik in de zomer maanden heb gedragen.

For an easy start back into blogging I’m showing the pedicures I wore with thumb swatches. On average I wear a pedicure for three weeks. These are all the colours I wore for the summer months.

Ik was nog steeds in de stemming voor koele tinten, dus mijn tweede pedicure was OPI I Am What I Amethyst.

Mijn laatste pedicure was met Essie in full swing. Ik draag deze nagellak bijna elke zomer.

Ik ben deze maand gestart met de nagellakken van mijn zomerselectie. Met de Barbie film die uitkwam, heb ik ook meer roze gedragen.

This month I started wearing de polishes from my summer nail polish rack. And with the opening of the Barbie movie, I chose more pink.

Catrice 141 Jelly-licious met essence 07 pinkVENTURES

Als jaren kijk foto’s naar creatieve ‘jelly sandwiches’. Maar ik heb deze maand er voor het eerst een gedragen. Ik heb deze opgebouwd door eerst een laagje Catrice Jelly-licious aan te brengen, dan een laagje essence pinkVENTURES en dan weer een laagje Catrice Jelly-licious. Ik vond het een hele geslaagde combinatie!

For many years I look at pictures of creative “jelly sandwiches’. But this is the first one I made myself. I created this by painting a layer of Catrice Jelly-licious, a layer essence pinkVENTURES and a layer of Catrice Jelly-licious. I liked the combination a lot!

Cirque colors Tourmaline

Cirque colours Tourmaline staat al een paar jaar te wachten op een draagbeurt. Ik ben blij dat ik het nu gedaan heb! Het is een dieproze jelly met holografische flakes. Ik draag drie laagjes met top coat. Ik heb de foto in de zon genomen, om de holografische schittering te laten zien.

Cirque colours Tourmaline is an older untried, and I’m glad I finally got around to wearing her. It’s a deep pink jelly with holographic flakes. I’m wearing two coats with top coat. I went outside for the picture, because it shows the holographic effect better in sun shine.

KBShimmer Such A Smartie

Daarna koos ik voor een nagellak die ik nog maar pas ontvangen had: KBShimmer Such A Smartie. Deze nagellak is uit de zommercollectie van 2023. Dit is een lichtpaarse holografische nagellak met een sterke shimmer. Hierdoor ziet de nagellak er in indirect licht heel anders uit dan in het zonlicht. De shimmer gaat van groen naar perzik naar aqua en paars. Groen en perzik zag ik het meest. Ik draag twee laagjes met top coat.

Then I chose a fairly new nail polish: KBShimmer Such A Smartie. This polish is from the summer collection for 2023. It’s a faded purple lineair holographic nail polish with multichrome shimmer. In indirect light it’s mostly multichrome going from green, to peach, to aqua and purple. I mostly saw green and peach. In the sunlight it transformed in a soft purple lineair holographic. I’m wearing two coats with top coat.

China Glaze Preserved In Amber

Onze zoon is jarig in juli en mocht uitkiezen wat ik op mijn nagels zou dragen op zijn verjaardag. Hij koos China Glaze Preserved In Amber vanwege het Jurassic Park logo. Hij koos ook een stempel uit van een astronaut met een bloemetje. Deze afbeelding is van KADS Sky 008.

Our son’s birthday is in July and he could pick out my mani for his big day. He chose China Glaze Preserved In Amber because of the Jurassic Park image on the bottle cap. He also picked an image to stamp on it of an astronaut with a little flower. This image is from KADS stamping plate Sky 008.

OPI Girls love ponies

Vanwege de premiere van de Barbie film koos ik voor een diepe roze nagellak, namelijk OPI Girls love ponies. Ik droeg deze eerst een paar dagen alleen in twee laagjes met top coat. Daarna droeg ik het nog een paar dagen met twee toppers, namelijk Wikkid polish Flake Me en KBShimmer Out of Sequins (R).

Because of the premiering of the Barbie movie, I wore a deep bright pink: OPI Girls love ponies. I first wore it a couple of days in two coats with top coat. Then I added two toppers and wore it for another couple of days. I added Wikkid polish Flake Me and KBShimmer Out of Sequins (R).

Essie mod square met Rimmel 021 Bedazzle

Mijn tweede rondje Barbie nagels was Essie mod square met een accent nagel met Rimmel Bedazzle. Ik droeg twee laagjes van mod square en een laagje Bedazzle op mijn ringvinger. Deze roze nagellak was een betere optie voor Barbie roze, ik werd steeds heel blij toen ik naar mijn nagels kreeg.

My second Barbie manicure was Essie mod square (two coats) with one coat of Rimmel Bedazlle on my ring finger nail. This pink polish was a better Barbie pink. Every time I looked at my nails I felt happy inside!

Wikkid polish Dodge ‘em with OPI Better Be Blue

Mijn laatste manicure van de maand is gekozen vanwege de blauwe glitters van mijn voorgaande mani. Wikkid Dodge ‘em is een neon blauwe nagellak die ik getopt heb met OPI Better Be Blue. Better Be Blue bestaat uit fijne blauwe glitters en grotere iridescent glitters.

My final manicure is inspired by the blue glitters of the manicure before. I wore Wikkid Dodge ‘em, a neon blue, with OPI Better Be Blue, a topper with small blue glitters and larger iridescent glitters.

It was a good month with seven manicures!

Het is mij deze maand gelukt om best veel nagellakken te dragen. Dus laten we maar meteen beginnen.

I managed to wear a lot of polish this month. So let’s dive in.

Ik begon de maand met felroze nagels. L’Oréal Nymphea dekt in twee laagjes. Op mijn ringvinger heb ik als accent een laagje van Essie you’re so cupid aangebracht. Dit is een glitter topper met witte, roze en rode glitters in verschillende maten.

I started the month with bright pink nails. L’Oréal Nymphea covers in two coats. On my ring finger nail I added a layer of Essie you’re so cupid. This is a glitter topper with white, pink and red glitter in different sizes.

ILNP Gumdrop and A England The Wizard holo topcoat

Ik was nog niet klaar met roze nagels en droeg daarna ILNP Gumdrop. Dit is een roze jelly met holografische flakes en dekt in drie laagjes. Maar ik had behoefte aan meer holo, dus voegde nog een dun laagje toe van A England The Wizard.

I still wanted to wear pink nails and chose ILNP Gumdrop. This is a pink jelly polish with holographic flakes and it covers in three coats. To increase the holo I added a thin layer of A England The Wizard.

Rogue Lacquer Bright Sunshine Day with accent nail

Inmiddels was het al behoorlijk warm en zonnig (we hadden deze maand veel warme zonnige dagen) en daar wilde ik iets mee doen. Ik koos voor Rogue Lacquer Bright Sunshine Day. Ik denk dat het twee lagen zijn. Ik voelde mij erg creatief en had er de tijd voor dus ik ging aan de slag voor een accent nagel. De basis van de accentnagel is twee laagjes van DA nails 078 10 Shades of Grey met een laagje van essence All the shimmers top coat 29 make a wish. Daarover stempelde ik een ingekleurde afbeelding van KADS Flower 031. Voor het inkleuren gebruikte ik Hit the bottle Psycho Pink, Hit the bottle Lemon Meringue Fizz en KADS stempellak 030. Ik heb dit bijna een week gedragen!

We had a lot of warm and sunny days this month and I used it as inspiration for the next mani. I chose Rogue Lacquer Sunshine Day and I think I wore it in two coats. I was feeling extra creative and I had the time for it, so I created an accent nail. The base for the accent nail is two coats of DA Nails 078 10 Shades of Grey with one coat of essence All the shimmers top coat 29 make a this. On top I stamped a coloured image from KADS Flower 031. To colour the image I used Hit the bottle Psycho Pink, Hit the bottle Lemon Meringue Fizz and KADS stamping polish 030. I wore this for almost a full week!

Penelope Luz Veil and Garland

De volgende manicure bestond uit twee laagjes Veil and Garland van Penelope Luz uit de Here comes the bride collectie. Ik draag het over een lichtgekleurde base coat, zodat het sneller opbouwt qua dekking. Vooral in indirect licht komen de flakes goed tot hun recht. Om in het thema van de collectie te blijven heb ik mijn nagels boven een roos uit onze eigen tuin gefotografeerd.

The next manicure was two coats of Veil and Garland of Penelope Luz over a lightly coloured base coat. This way it’s easier to reach opacity. The polish is from the Here comes the bride collection, so I took a picture of my nails over one of the roses from our own garden. It was in the shade and in indirect light you can see how pretty the flakes are.

KBShimmer Mist me

Daarna pakte ik KBShimmer Mist Me. Dit is een blauwe holografische nagellak met een sterke shimmer die shift van koper naar goud. De beste foto van deze nagellak maakte ik uiteindelijk met mijn telefoon onder de halogeenspotjes in de keuken. Ik draag twee lagen met top coat.

Next I picked KBShimmer Mist Me. This is a blue holographic nail polish with a strong shimmer that shifts from copper to gold. The best picture was the one I made with my phone under the halogen light in the kitchen. I’m wearing two coats with top coat.

Essie In the you-niverse with ILNP toppers

Voor moederdag kreeg ik van de kinderen deze nagellak van Essie. Ik wilde niet te lang wachten met het dragen ervan. Maar na alle sparkles van de vorige mani, was een creme nagellak net iets te saai. Ik loste dat op met twee toppers van ILNP. Namelijk Free Spirit, een flake topper die gaat van fuchsia naar groen en My private rainbow (L+S), dat bestaat uit twee soorten holografische shimmer.

For Mother’s Day the kids gave me this polish from Essie Into the you-niverse. I didn’t want to keep them waiting before my first time wearing it. But after such a sparkling mani, a cream was just a little boring. So I added two toppers by ILNP. Free Spirit is a flake topper that shifts from fuchsia to green and My private rainbow (L+S) is two kinds of holographic shimmer.

Mijn laatste manicure van de maand was een poging om zoveel mogelijk nagellakken van mijn voorjaarsselectie te dragen die ik nog had staan. Want volgende maand start ik aan mijn zomerselectie. Op mijn pinknagel draag ik twee laagjes van Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C07 Basket of tulips. Op mijn ringvinger nagel draag ik twee laagjes van Rogue Lacquer Shattered Rainbows met een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust. Op mijn middelvingernagel draag ik twee laagjes van Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C09 Lavender Peony. Op mijn wijsvinger nagel draag ik twee laagjes van Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C10 Forget-me-not. Op mijn duimnagel herhaalde ik Lavender Peony. Op alle nagels met met een creme nagellak bracht ik op het onderste deel een dun laagje aan van Rogue Lacquer Shattered Rainbows en een dun laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust. Uiteindelijk paste het nog heel leuk bij elkaar.

My final manicure of the month was an attempt at wearing as many left over polishes from my spring polish selection as possible. Because next month I will start with my summer polish selection. I will go from pinky to thumb. On my pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C07 Basket of tulips. On my ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Rogue Lacquer Shattered Rainbows with a light coat of China Glaze Fairy Dust. On my middle finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C09 Lavender Peony. On my pointer finger I’m wearing two coats of Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C10 Forget-me-not. On my thumb nail I repeated Lavender Peony. On all the nails with a cream polish I added a light coat of Shattered Rainbows and Fairy Dust to the lower third. In the end I really liked how it all looked together!

Catrice Spectra Light 02 Iridescent Illusion with A England The Wizard Holo Topcoat

Mijn eerste manicure van de maand was een wat oudere nagellak van Catrice. Namelijk uit de Spectra Light lijn, die volgens mij uit 2018 is. De nagellak brengt prima aan en is dekkend in twee laagjes. Het is een roze parelmoer nagellak met een duochrome shimmer. De shimmer is blauw naar geel. Daarnaast heb je nog de zilveren parelmoer. Dus afhankelijk van de lichtval is er steeds iets anders op je nagels te zien. Voor nog wat extra sprankel heb ik het de holo topcoat van A England aangebracht.

My first manicure this month was an older polish by Catrice. It’s from the Spectra Light line and I think that it’s from 2018. The polish is easy to use and is fully opaque in two coats. It’s a pink pearlised nail polish with a duochrome shimmer. The shimmer is blue to yellow, but there’s also the silvery pearl finish. So depending on the light, there’s something different showing up on your nails. For more sparkle I added the holo top coat from A England.

Painted Polish Lucky Lilac

Mijn volgende manicure was Lucky Lilac van Painted Polish. Ik draag hier drie laagjes. Dit is een lila base met een champagne kleurige holografische glitter. Met een goede laag top coat was er geen textuur meer, maar bij het verwijderen merk je heel goed dat het glitter is.

My next manicure was Lucky Lilac by Painted Polish. I’m wearing three coats. It’s a lilac base with a champagne coloured holographic glitter. With a thick layer of top coat I had no texture, but during removal you know it’s glitter (so I soaked it off).

Mother’s Day Manicure

En toen was het Moederdag. Meestal kies ik ervoor om iets met bloemen te dragen op moederdag. Dit jaar heb ik een combinatie gemaakt van een skittle en een gestempelde nagel. Op mijn duim en pink draag ik twee laagjes van OPI Lucky, lucky lavender. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger draag ik twee laagjes van Rogue Lacquer Barely Blush. Op mijn ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes van Essie moments to mrs. en een rozenafbeelding van Moyra mini series no 104.

And then it was already Mother’s Day. Usually I chose to wear nail art with a flower theme. This year it’s a combination of a skittle manicure and a stamped accent nail. In my thumb and pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of OPI Lucky lucky lavender. On my pointer and middle finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Rogue Lacquer Barely Blush. On my ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Essie moments to mrs. with a stamped rose image of Moyra mini series no 104.

ILNP Sugar high

In de week na moederdag wisselde ik naar ILNP Suger high en stempelde ik een afbeelding met vlinders op mijn ringvinger. Ik draag twee laagjes van ILNP Sugar high en de afbeelding komt van KADS stempelplaat nature 069.

In the week after Mother’s Day I changed my manicure to ILNP Sugar high. I added an accent nail with a stamped image of butterflies. I’m wearing two coats of ILNP Sugar high and the image is from KADS stamping plate nature 069.

Catrice LE Hop, hop, hooray reloaded C08 Floral Bouquet

In april heb ik de hele Limited Edition collectie Hop, hop, hooray reloaded gekocht van Catrice. Deze koele roze tint staarde mij al de hele tijd aan en de schattige konijnenoren hielpen uiteraard ook. Ik heb Floral Bouquet heel eenvoudig gedragen en ik vind het een prachtige kleur. Ik draag hier twee laagjes met base en top coat.

In April I bought the full limited edition collection Hop, hop, hooray reloaded by Catrice. This cooler shade of pink was tempting me for some time and the cute rabbit ears helped it too. I wore Floral Bouquet in a very basic way, just two coats with base and top coat. I loved it.

ILNP CEO

Daarna koos ik voor een neutrale manicure met een twist, namelijk ILNP CEO. Het is een rozige neutrale nagellak met holografische flakes en subtiele gouden shimmer. Ik draag hier drie laagjes.

Then I wanted to wear a neutral manicure with a twist. ILNP CEO is a dusty pink neutral with holographic flakes and a subtle gold shimmer. I’m wearing it here in three coats.

Cadillacquer Cradle of Echoes in skittle mani

De laatste mani van de maand is met Cadillacquer Cradle of Echoes. Ik heb begin dit jaar een paar lakken van Cadillacquer gekocht, want ik had dit merk al jaren op mijn wensenlijstje staan om uit te proberen. Deze kleur is erg transparant, maar dat geeft wel alle ruimte aan de flakes die ik heel mooi vind. Op foto’s die ik had opgezocht had ik hele wisselende resultaten in dekkingsgraad gezien. Ik draag hier 4 laagjes op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger. Ik denk dat ik het de volgende keer met een creme nagellak eronder ga dragen. Op mijn duim en ringvinger draag ik twee laagjes Essie seas the day en op mijn pink twee laagjes van een mintgroene stempellak. Daarmee heb ik ook een bloemenafbeelding op mijn ringvinger gezet van KADS stempelplaat Fashion 081.

The last mani of this month is with Cadillacquer Cradle of Echoes. In the beginning of the year I bought my first polishes of Cadillacquer, a brand I have wanted to try for some time. The colour is more transparent than expected, but it gives the flakes room to shine. Before ordering I had looked up swatches and I had seen a lot of variation in the coverage. I’m wearing 4 coats on my pointer and middle finger nails. I think I will give it matching undies with a cream polish when I reach for it again. On my thumb and ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of Essie seas the day. And on my pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of a mint green stamping polish. I used this stamping polish also for the floral image on my ring finger nail. The image is from KADS stamping plate Fashion 081.

Deze maand hadden we twee feestdagen, namelijk Pasen en Koningsdag. Altijd leuk om dan wat extra’s op de nagels te dragen in vorm van nail art. Ook de rest van de maand heb ik ook zo op zijn tijd wat nail art gedaan.

With Easter and King’s Day we had two fun holidays this month to do some nail art. I also tried to wear some nail art in between.

Catrice More than Nude translucent effect nail polish 02 Glitter Is The Answer

Ik starte de maand met een neutrale kleur. Deze nagellak van Catrice More than Nude heeft een grovere shimmer en geeft een parelmoerachtig effect zonder dat je sporen van de kwast ziet. Ik draag hier drie laagjes met base en top coat.

I started the month with a neutral colour. This nail polish by Catrice More than Nude has a larger shimmer particle. That gives the polish a pearl effect without visible brush strokes. I’m wearing three coats with base and top coat.

My Easter mani for 2023

Vorig jaar droeg ik met Pasen een nail art met blauwe druifjes. Dit jaar wilde ik iets vergelijkbaars doen. Dus koos ik voor een stempel van een narcis. Als basis draag ik twee laagjes van Catrice 152 Lemon Butter en een laagje ILNP Cake Pop. Zodra ik voor een speciale nagellak een bijpassende basiskleur vindt, zal ik deze ook sparen doordat ik minder laagjes hoef te gebruiken. De afbeelding van het narcisje komst van Dashica stempelplaat SdP-63. Ik stempelde met een groene stempellak van KADS en Twinkled T Saucey.

Last year I wore a nail art with muscari for Easter and this year I wanted something similar. So I chose an image of a daffodil. As base I’m wearing two coats of Catrice 152 Lemon Butter and one coat of ILNP Cake Pop. In regards to my special polishes, like indie and boutique brands, I like to find matching undies. I am very happy with this combination and will be wearing this combination for future mani’s. This way I only need one coat of the special polish. This image of the daffodil comes from Dashica stamping plate SdP-63. I stamped the image with a green stamping polish by KADS and Twinkled T Saucey.

Wildflower Lacquer Polly in my Pocket

Een paar dagen na Pasen werd mijn bestelling van Hypnotic Polish geleverd. Toen ik mijn allereerste Wildflower nagellak zag, wist ik dat ik deze meteen zou dragen. De andere lakken uit deze bestelling zal ik de komende maanden heus aandacht kunnen geven, maar deze wilde ik echt meteen dragen. Ik draag hier drie laagjes met base en top coat. Polly in my Pocket heeft een paarse basis en een shimmer die wisselt tussen roze, oranje en geel. In het potje zag ik ook nog net een randje groen en blauw.

A couple of days after Easter I received my order from Hypnotic Polish. This is my very first Wildflower Lacquer. When I opened my package I knew I wanted to wear it right away. The other polishes from this order will get their share in the love and attention in the coming months, I’m sure about that. But this one, wow. I’m wearing three coats with base and top coat. Polly in my Pocket has a purple base with a strong shimmer that goes between pink, orange and yellow. In the bottle I also spotted some green and blue.

Skittle mani with Essie and Cirque

Skittle mani with Essie need a vacation, Essie beat of the moment, Cirque nail lacquer Crystal Tokyo and Catrice Go Pastel top coat.

Geïnspireerd door een video van somecallmecoco of misschien was het Carolina van Gotaluvpolish, had ik deze nagellakken uitgezocht voor een skittle. Op mijn duim en pink nagel draag ik Essie Need a vacation. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger nagel draag ik Essie Beat of the moment. Op mijn ringvinger nagel draag ik een jelly sandwich met Catrice Go pastel top coat en Cirque Crystal Tokyo. Elke kleur draag ik in drie laagjes. Alleen mijn ringvinger is een laagje meer. Het was erg leuk om met deze verschillende texturen te werken.

I’m wearing the colours in three coats, on my ring finger I’m wearing four coats. It was fun wearing these different textures.

Daarna koos ik er voor om weer tien nagels in dezelfde kleur te dragen, maar wel met wat nail art. Ik draag hier twee lagen van Cuticula Don’t count the candles. Op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger stempelde ik in wit een bloemenpatroon van KADS stempelplaat Flower 052. Uiteraard draag ik ook base en top coat.

Then I chose to wear the same colour on all ten nails, but with some added nail art. I’m wearing two coats of Cuticula Don’t count the candles. On my middle finger nail and ring finger nail I stamped in white a floral pattern from KADS stamping plate Flower 052. Of course I’m also wearing base coat and top coat.

King’s Day mani 2023

En toen waren we alweer aan het einde van de maand aangekomen met Koningsdag! Vorig jaar droeg ik een skittle in rood, wit, blauw en oranje (geen foto van). Dit jaar wilde ik weer Wikkid polish Tangerine dragen. Om te kunnen stempelen met de oranje stempellak die ik heb, koos ik voor essence 23 tangerine ahead! Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink draag ik base coat en twee laagjes van Wikkid polish Tangerine en op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger draag ik base coat en twee laagjes van de essence. De essence nagellak heeft gouden flecks en lijkt wat meer perzik op mijn nagels dan licht oranje. Op deze nagels stempelde ik met oranje stempelnagellak een afbeelding van BornPretty stempelplaat BP-L104. Daarna volgde er een laag top coat.

And now we’ve reached the end of the month with my King’s Day mani! Last year I wore a skittle mani in red, white, blue and orange (no pictures were taken). This year I wanted to rewear Wikkid Polish Tangerine. I also wanted to use my orange stamping polish, so I chose essence 23 tangerine ahead! On my thumb nail, index finger nail and pinky nail I’m wearing two coats of Wikkid polish Tangerine. On my middle finger nail and ring finger nail I’m wearing two coats of essence 23 tangerine ahead! De essence nail polish has golden flakes and pulls more peach on my nails than light orange. On these nails I stamped with orange stamping polish an image with crowns from BornPretty stamping plate BP-L104. Everything is worn with base coat and sealed with top coat.

Mijn eerste manicure van maart was weer een van mijn opties voor de Pantone kleur van het jaar: Viva Magenta. Iedere keer als ik een nagellak tegenkom die past bij de beschrijving van Viva Magenta, dan zet ik deze apart. Ik heb inmiddels zo’n selectie staan, dat ik erover denk om ze komende zomer zoveel mogelijk te dragen. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van Essie B’aha moment! met een laagje van essence 07 party princess als accent nagel. Misschien ken je Restored by Polish van YouTube. In een van hun videos van februari kwam essence party princess langs. Een goede reminder om deze weer eens te dragen!

My first manicure of March was another one of my options for Pantone colour of the year: Viva Magenta. Every time when I go through my nail polish and I find an option for Viva Magenta, I set it aside. The selection that I have created this way is that large, that I think I will try to wear them over the summer. Here I’m wearing two coats of Essie B’aha moment! with one coat of essence 07 party princess as accent nail. Maybe you have heard of the YouTube channel Restore by Polish. In one of their videos of februari they mentioned essence party princess. That was a good reminder to wear this topper!

OPI One Heckla of a Color! with toppers

Hierna droeg ik OPI One Heckla of a Color! met twee toppers. Ik bracht eerst twee laagjes aan van de OPI, daarna een laagje aan van Rogue lacquer Kaleidoscope en daarna nog een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust. Ik was erg blij met deze combinatie.

Then I chose to wear OPI One Heckla of a Color! with two toppers. First I painted two coats of the OPI, then one coat of Rogue lacquer Kaleidoscope and then one coat of a China Glaze Fairy Dust. I was very happy with this combination.

Daarna was het bijna St Patrick’s, dus koos ik uiteraard voor groen. Ik had zin in een lichte lentegroen en koos voor essence Save water, drink lime. Helaas had ik nogal ruzie met het kwastje en de kwaliteit van de formule. Nu zijn pastelkleurige nagellakken wel vaker lastiger om netjes aan te brengen. De oplossing vond ik in Sally Hansen Unicorn Top Coat. Ik heb daar twee laagjes van aangebracht. Het gaf een heel mooi effect waarbij vooral groen en roze als kleuren zichtbaar waren.

Then St. Patrick’s was almost there, so I wanted to wear green. I chose essence Save water, drink lime, because it’s a nice spring green. Sadly the formula was not the best and so was the brush. I struggled to get an even application. I found the solution in two coats of Sally Hansen Unicorn Top Coat. I loved the shifting shimmer that was mostly green and pink.

ILNP Evermore

Daarna droeg ik ILNP Evermore. Dit is een mauvekleurige ultraholo nagellak met klein beetje metalen flakes. In de zon is het echt mega holografisch. Uit de zon zorgen de kleine flakes voor een mooi effect. Hier zie je twee laagjes met top coat.

Then I wore ILNP Evermore. This is a pinky mauve ultra holographic nail polish with a tiny sprinkling of metallic flakes. In the sun it’s really holographic. In the shade it’s still interesting to look at with the small flakes. Here I’m wearing two coats with top coat.

KBShimmer I’d pick you with KBShimmer Out of Sequins (R)

Mijn laatste mani van maart was deze combinatie van KBShimmer. Dit voelde al heerlijk lente achtig. I’d pick you is een roze nagellak met verschillende kleuren flakes. Ik draag twee laagjes. Daarover heb ik een laagje Out of Sequins aangebracht, dat is een topper met glitters die reflecteren in direct licht (zoals een zaklamp). In gewoon licht geven ze een fijne twinkel.

My final mani of March was this combination of polishes by KBShimmer. This felt like spring to me. I’d pick you is an orchid pink nail polish with different kind of flakes. I’m wearing two coats. On top I wore one coat of Out of Sequins, it’s a topper with reflective glitters. These glitters react to direct light (like a flash light) like traffic signs in car lights at night. In normal light they have a fun twinkle.

Catrice More Than Nude 12 Glowing Rose with topper and accent nail

Mijn eerste manicure van de maand is met een nieuwe nagellak van Catrice. Ik heb meteen een online bestelling geplaatst voor zes lakken, toen ik de nieuwe lente/zomer collectie zag voor 2023. Een van de nieuwe lakken die ik heb besteld is Catrice ICONails 147 Glitter N’Rosé. Deze lak is een jelly (transparant, niet dekkend) in een warme roze tint met gouden flakes. Hij deed mij denken aan Catrice More Than Nude 12 Glowing Rose. Dit is een warmroze lak met gouden shimmer. Ik besloot uiteindelijk eerst twee laagjes van Glowing Rose aan te brengen met daarover een laagje Glitter N’Rosé. Als accent nagel viste ik twee hartjes uit Revlon Hearts of Gold FX nadat ik eerst een laagje van de fijne glitters had aangebracht. De hartjes zijn holografisch, wat vooral op de foto in het potje zichtbaar is.

My first manicure of the month is with a new polish by Catrice. When I saw the new spring/summer collection for 2023, I immediately ordered six polishes online. One of the new polishes I ordered is Catrice ICONails 147 Glitter N’Rosé. This is a warm pink jelly (transparent nail polish) with gold flakes. It reminded me of Catrice More Than Nude 12 Glowing Rose. That is also a sheer warm pink polish, but this time with a gold shimmer. In the end I painted two coats of Glowing Rose, then one coat of Glitter N’Rosé. As accent nail I painted one coat of Revlon Hearts of Gold FX and fished for two big hearts. The hearts are very holographic, on the picture it’s mostly seen in the bottle.

Catrice ICONails 56 Purple Is The Best Policy and DA Nails 103 Dazzling Purple

Dit is de eerste manicure van de maand die gekozen is vanwege de kleur van een wintertrui van mij. Later heb ik dat nog een keer gedaan. Deze trui is licht en donker paars. Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pinknagel bracht ik twee laagjes aan van Catrice ICONails 56 Purple Is The Best Policy. Op mijn middelvinger en ringvingernagel bracht ik twee laagjes aan van DA Nails 103 Dazzling Purple. Het leuke van deze DA nagellak zijn de glitters, waardoor het lijkt op een indie nagellak. De lak heeft zilveren glitters en fijne blauwe glitters. Als accent nagel stempelde ik nog een rij hartjes in zilver op mijn ringvingernagel. De hartjes komen van stempelplaat KADS Nature 069.

This is the first manicure this month that was inspired by a winter knit sweater. I repeated it for another sweater later this month. This inspiration sweater is light to dark purple. On my thumb nail, pointer finger nail and pinky I wore two coats of Catrice ICONails 56 Purple Is The Best Policy. And on my middle finger nail and ring finger nail I wore two coats of DA Nails 103 Dazzling Purple. The fun thing about this polish from the DA drugstore (a local drugstore chain) is that it reminded me of some indie polishes I’ve seen online. The polish has silver hex glitters and small blue glitters. As accent nail I stamped silver hearts. The hearts come from stamping plate KADS Nature 069.

Manlief bracht vorig jaar voor mij een nagellak mee uit Londen, waar hij naartoe was gegaan voor een zakenreis. Vanwege de roze kleur, wist ik meteen dat ik deze nagellak zou bewaren voor Valentijnsdag. Ik draag twee laagjes. Ook al zie ik het nergens online, was de nagellak in de volle zon licht holografisch. Als accent nagel heb ik een nagelfolie aangebracht met regenboog hartjes met holografische uitlijn en stippen.

Dear Husband was on a business trip last year to London and surprised me on his return with this nail polish. With this shade of pink and the name, I knew I wanted to safe this one for Valentines Day to wear. I’m wearing two coats. Even though I didn’t see it described as holographic online, it did throw some rainbow sparkles in bright sun light. As accent nail I added a nail foil with rainbow hearts with holographic outline and dots.

Ook al was Valentijnsdag geweest, ik was er nog niet helemaal klaar mee. Vanwege de naam had ik ook nog Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder klaargezet voor deze maand met als accent nagel de glitter van Rimmel 019 Disco Diva. De Rimmel glitter topper bestaat uit kleine zilveren holografische glitters en grotere roze metallic glitters. Ik draag twee laagjes van Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder.

Even though Valentines Day had passed, I still had one polish left that I wanted to wear. Because of the name I had selected Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder for this month. I topped it with glitter from Rimmel 019 Disco Diva. The Rimmel glitter topper has small silver holographic glitters and larger pink metallic hex glitters. I’m wearing two coats of Catrice ICONails 88 Pink Makes The Heart Grow Fonder.

Bee’s Knees Lacquer Are You Eating Beans Again?

Afgelopen Kerst kreeg ik mijn eerste Bee’s Knees Lacquer nagellakken. Ik vond dat het tijd werd om er een te gaan dragen. Ik koos voor Are You Eating Beans Again? Dit is een grijze/taupe kleurige lak met een rode shimmer die naar groen shift en holografische flakes. Ik draag twee laagjes. Mijn eerste ervaring met BKL was erg positief. Ik droeg deze nagellak voor een volle week.

Last Christmas I received my first Bee’s Knees Lacquer nail polishes. It was time to wear the first one. I chose Are You Eating Beans Again? It’s a Lion sibling polish with a gray/taupe coloured base with red to green shifting shimmer and holographic flakes. I’m wearing two coats. My first experience with BKL was very positive. I wore this polish for a full week.

China Glaze She’s so extra terrestrial

En andere favoriete wintertrui van mij is blauwgroen. China Glaze She’s so extra terrestrial is een perfecte match qua kleur. Deze nagellak is holografisch en het was zonnig toen ik mijn nagels net gelakt had. Dus ik kan je de holo op de foto laten zien. Ik draag twee laagjes.
