December is een maand vol feestdagen. We hebben Sinterklaas, Kerst en Oud en Nieuw. Daarnaast waren de eerste weken van de maand ongebruikelijk warm, waarna het meteen omsloeg in koud winterweer. Omdat ik de hele maand kerstactiviteiten had, heb ik heel regelmatig kerst nail arts gedragen. Alle manicures zijn gedragen met base coat en top coat, tenzij anders vermeld.

December is a month filled with holidays: st Nicholas, Christmas and New Year’s. The weather was the first weeks of the month unusually warm, but then it changed to real winter cold. I had throughout the month multiple Christmas activities, so I wore multiple Christmas nail arts. All manicures are worn with base coat and top coat, unless otherwise stated.

Sinterklaas manicure

Dit jaar had ik voor Sinterklaas zin om een andere kleur dan de traditionele sinterklaaskleuren te gebruiken. Dus ik startte met twee laagjes Essence Out of Space stories 02 Across the universe, daarna bracht ik een laagje China Glaze Fairy Dust aan. Om het af te maken bracht ik een sinterklaas stempel van Dashica Nails 007 met een dieprode stempellak.

This year for St. Nicholas I was in the mood for a different colour than the traditional colours. So I started with two coats of Essence Out of Space stories 02 Across the universe, next I added a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust. To finish the St. Nicholas theme I added an image from Dashica Nails 007 with a deep cherry red stamping polish.

Masura Keeper

Mijn laatste herfst manicure was Masura Keeper. Dit was ook mijn laatste, voordat de kerst manicures zullen starten. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes.

My final fall manicure was Masura Keeper. My final fall colour before I start with the Christmas manicures. I wore it in three coats.

Christmas manicure 1

Al vrij vroeg in December had ik de eerste kerstactiviteit. Ik had zin in roze glinsterende nagels, dus ik koos voor Essence the gel nail polish 86 My sparkling darling. Deze micro glitter nagellak is wat minder dekkend, dus ik startte met een laagje Catrice More than nude 13 To be contiNUDEd. Daarna bracht ik twee laagjes van My sparkling darling aan. Op mijn wijsvinger en middelvinger droeg ik twee laagjes Catrice GA 004 Rosy Bowtastic. Op mijn middelvinger bracht ik een afbeelding aan van een kerstbal die ik had ingevuld met Essence My sparkling darling. Deze afbeelding komt van stempelplaat KADS Christmas 046.

The first Christmas activity was in early December. I was in the mood for sparkling pink nails, so I chose Essence the gel nail polish 86 My sparkling darling. This micro glitter nail polish is less full coverage, so I started my manicure with one coat of Catrice More than nude 13 To be contiNUDEd. Then I added two coats of My sparkling darling. On my pointer finger and middle finger I painted two coats of Catrice GA 004 Rosy Bowtastic. And on my middle finger I added an image of a Christmas ornament that I had filled in with Essence My sparkling darling. This image is from stamping plate KADS Christmas 046.

OPI Kiss Me – Or Elf!

Daarna droeg ik een oudere OPI uit mijn collectie. Ik heb deze nagellak wel eens gedragen, maar nog nooit gefotografeerd. Ik kwam er bij mijn eerste nagel achter dat de nagellak heel dun en vloeibaar was en het liep dus uit. Dat zie je nog steeds, want het gaat om de wijsvinger van deze hand. Daarna heb ik in extra dunne laagjes gewerkt. Ik kreeg OPI Kiss Me – Or Elf! dekkend in drie laagjes.

Next I wore an older OPI polish from my collection. I had worn this polish before, but I had never taken a picture of it. I learned quickly on my first nail that this polish is very fluid, because I flooded my cuticles. I tried to clean it up, but you can still see it on this picture. That first nail was the pointer finger of my swatching hand. The other nails were painted in very thin coats. I reached full coverage in three very thin coats with OPI Kiss Me – Or Elf!

Christmas manicure 2

Vervolgens was het tijd voor de volgende kerst activiteit. Nu koos ik voor Essie It’s all bright, een champagne metallic nagellak. Ik droeg het in drie laagjes. Om het feestelijker te maken bracht ik van een Essence kerst stempelplaat afbeeldingen aan met bruine stempellak.

Then it was time for the next Christmas time activity. I chose for Essie It’s all bright, a champagne metallic nail polish. I wore it in three coats. To add to the festive spirit I added images from an Essence Christmas stamping plate with brown stamping polish.

Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable

Eindelijk was de verwachting dat er koud weer aan ging komen. Ik wilde graag winternagels hebben, als dat zover zou zijn. Ik koos voor Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes met glitter smoothing top coat en mijn normale top coat. Tussen de lagen top coat bracht ik een sneeuwvlok stempel aan op mijn ringvinger met een zilveren nail stud. De afbeelding komt van KADS Christmas 018.

Finally the weather forecast said that cold winter weather would soon come. I wanted to wear a winter nail art if it arrived. I chose Dam nail polish Un-brr-lieveable. I wore it in two coats with a glitter smoothing top coat and a regular top coat. In between the top coats I added a snowflake image with a silver stud. The image is from KADS Christmas 018.

En toen was er weer een kerstactiviteit. Dit keer koos ik voor Catrice Bold Magnetic 010 Love at first pull. Ik droeg het in twee laagjes. Als accent nagel droeg ik op duim en ringvinger een combinatie van een laagje A England Katherine of Aragon en een laagje Masura Delicate luxury. Daarover bracht ik op beide nagels een afbeelding aan van Dashica SdP 72 met een rode metallic stempellak. Het was een hele mooie nail art en het magnetische effect was op alle nagels goed gelukt. Ik was er erg blij mee!

And another Christmas activity had arrived. This time I chose to wear Catrice Bold Magnetic 010 Love at first pull. I wore it in two coats. As accent nail I wore a combination of one coat of A England Katherine of Aragon and one layer of Masura Delicate luxury. On top I added an image from stamping plate Dashica SdP 72 with a red metallic stamping polish. I wore this accent nail both on ring finger and thumb nail. I was very happy with this nail art and the magnetic effect was successful on all nails.

Dit is de nail art die ik droeg op Kerstavond en Eerste Kerstdag. De basis bestaat uit Essie Gel Couture Lady in red. Dit bracht ik aan in twee laagjes. Als accent nagel bracht ik een combinatie aan van een laagje Catrice ICONails 81 Metal speaks louder than words en een laagje Phoenix Indie polish Candy Cane. Ik koos een afbeelding van KADS Christmas 046 en bracht deze in zilver aan op de middelvinger (en duim) en in rood op de ringvinger.

This is the nail art I wore on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. The base is Essie Gel Couture Lady in red. I wore it in two coats. As accent nail I made a combination of one coat of Catrice ICONails 81 Metal speaks louder than words and one coat of Phoenix Indie polish Candy Cane. I chose an image from KADS Christmas 046 and added it in silver on the middle finger (and thumb) and in red on the ring finger nail.

Op Tweede Kerstdag wisselde ik naar deze nail art. Ik maakte een skittle manicure met KBShimmer Noell it all (wijsvinger en pink), Dam nail polish Evergreen (duim en middelvinger) en KBShimmer Self-reflection (ringvinger). Ik bracht elke lak aan in twee laagjes. Daarna gebruikte ik een glitter smoothing top coat. Op ringvinger stempelde ik daarover met groene stempellak een afbeelding van KADS Christmas 036. Vervolgens werkte ik het af met mijn gewone top coat. Dit was na de magnetische nail art, mijn andere favoriete kerst manicure van dit seizoen.

On Boxing Day I changed my manicure for this nail art. I created a skittle manicure with KBShimmer Noell it all (pointer finger and pinky), Dam nail polish Evergreen (thumb and middle finger) and KBShimmer Self-reflection (ring finger). I applied each polish in two coats. The I added a glitter smoothing top coat. On ring finger I stamped an image from KADS Christmas 036 with green stamping polish. Then I finished it off with my regular top coat. This was my second favourite Christmas manicure of the season.

New Years Eve manicure

De laatste manicure van de maand was voor Oud & Nieuw. Ik startte met drie laagjes Catrice Spectra Light 01 Down The Milky Way. Daarover bracht ik een laagje Wikkid polish Flake me aan. Op de ringvinger bracht ik een afbeelding aan van BornPretty Christmas S001. Ik gebruikte zwarte stempellak en ik vulde de glazen met lichtgouden metallic nagellak voor de champagne. Ik wens jullie allemaal de beste wensen voor het nieuwe jaar!

The final manicure this month was to celebrate New Year’s Eve. I started with three coats of Catrice Spectra Light 01 Down The Milky Way. Then I added a layer of Wikkid polish Flake me. On the ring finger I added an image from BornPretty Christmas S001. I used a black stamping polish and I coloured the glasses with a light gold metallic nail polish to represent the champagne.
