2024 in review

Vorig jaar had ik de volgende doelen voor 2024 bedacht:

– Maar een (1) online bestelling voor heel 2024, bij voorkeur op Black Friday of voor een Advents kalender;
– Aankopen bij de drogisterijen zijn toegestaan in de winkel;
– 15% van de collectie dragen;
– Ongedragen of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken hebben voorrang;
– Doorgaan met seizoensgebonden selecties;
– Meer dan 50% van de collectie gefotografeerd krijgen in Lacquergram.

Het eerste doel is niet helemaal goed gegaan. In plaats van één bestelling voor indie nagellakken, heb ik er drie geplaatst. De eerste was om het slagen voor een examen te vieren, de tweede voor het vullen van een zelfgemaakte Adventskalender en de derde was op Black Friday. Daardoor is het budget ook wat hoger uitgevallen.

De daaropvolgende doelen zijn wel goed gegaan. Ik heb drogisterij nagellakken niet online besteld, maar netjes in de winkel bekeken voordat ik het aankocht. Dat scheelde ook in de aantallen aankopen. Ongedragen of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken hadden steeds voorrang, vooral bij het maken van de seizoensgebonden selecties.

Uiteindelijk zijn dit de statistieken voor 2024:
– Ik heb 20,3% van de collectie gedragen;
– Ik droeg 114 manicures voor het jaar, gemiddeld 9,5 manicures per maand of gemiddeld 2,2 per week;
– In totaal is nu 60,5% van de collectie gedocumenteerd in Lacquergram;
– de collectie groeide met zo’n 60 lakken, ietsje meer verwacht. Niet alle groei is van nieuwe aankoop. Ook enkele ongedocumenteerde lakken zijn hierbij opgenomen.

Last year I formulated the following goals for 2024:

– Just one online order for 2024, preferably on Black Friday or for a nail polish Advents calendar;
– Buying polish in the drugstores is allowed;
– Wear 15% of the collection;
– Unworn or not photographed nail polishes have priority;
– Making seasonal selections;
– Get more than 50% of the collection photographed in Lacquergram.

My first goal did not go so well. Instead of one online order, I made three online orders for indie nail polishes. One order was to celebrate passing an exam, the second order was for polishes for my home made advent calendar. The third order was for Black Friday. So the budget was slightly over.

The other goals went very well. I did not buy drugstore polishes online, but only in store. Because I saw them before buying, I was more selective and bought less. When I made my seasonal selecties I gave priority to unworn or not photographed nail polishes.

Here are my statistics for 2024:
– I wore 20,3% of the collection;
– I wore 114 manicures for the year, on average 9,5 manicures a month or on average 2,2 manicures a week;
– In total 60,5% of the collection has a picture in Lacquergram;
– I added about 60 polishes to the collection, slightly more than hoped. Not all added polishes are newly bought. I also found some polishes that were not yet documented in Lacquergram.

Plans for 2025

Vorig jaar was een heel succesvol jaar. Maar ik durf niet op alle terreinen ambitieuzere doelen te formuleren.

Uiteindelijk heb ik deze doelen geformuleerd voor 2025:
– Low buy voor nagellakken. Bij voorkeur geen indie nagellakken bestellen en alleen (beperkt) aankopen uit de drogisterij;
– 15% van de collectie dragen;
– Ongedragen of niet gefotografeerde nagellakken hebben een lichte voorrang, maar ik start dit jaar ook met opnieuw dragen van nagellakken die al in Lacquergram gefotografeerd staan. Ik mis sommige favorieten;
– Doorgaan met het maken van seizoens selecties;
– Ik heb afgelopen november mijn potje China Glaze fairy dust (een holografische glitter topper) weer bruikbaar gemaakt. Ik wil proberen deze topper elke maand een keer te gebruiken, voordat hij weer te veel indikt;
– en ik wil een heel groot project opstarten: namelijk de collectie op swatch sticks zetten en deze organiseren op kleur. Hopelijk helpt dit bij het vinden van kleuren bij de seizoens selecties.

Last year was a very successful year, but I am careful with formulating very ambitious goals for next wear.

In the end did I chose to set these goals for 2025:
– Low buy on nail polish. I would like to buy no indie polishes in 2025 and only buy polishes in the drugstore (limited quantities);
– Wear 15% of the collection;
– Unworn or not photographed polishes still have a slight priority, but I want to start rewearing polishes that have a picture in Lacquergram. I missed some favourites;
– Continue making seasonal selections;
– Last November I revived my bottle of China Glaze fairy dust (holographic topper). I want to try to wear it each month in a manicure, before it gets gloopy again;
– And I want to start a very big project: I want to swatch out the collection on swatch sticks and organize these swatch sticks in colour families. I hope this will help me with finding colours for the seasonal selections.

Ik heb de eerste swatches al gemaakt. Ik begon het project met de aankoop van 800 swatch sticks en het opzoeken van de Dymo labelprinter. Mijn lieve echtgenoot plaatste haakjes onder mijn plank. Mijn voornemen is om eerst mijn nagellakken van Catrice en Essie te swatchen. Deze merken hebben mijn meest gedragen creme kleuren. Daarna ga ik ook indie merken swatchen. Daarbij ben ik van plan alle nagellakken in potjes van 5 ml of minder (mini’s) niet te swatchen. Deze gebruik ik voor vakanties.

I already made my first swatches. I started the project by buying 800 swatch sticks and finding the Dymo label printer. My dear husband added hooks under my nail polish shelf. My plan is to swatch the nail polishes of Catrice and Essie first. These brands have my most worn creme nail colours. After that I will start swatching indie brands. I’m also planning not to swatch nail polishes in bottles of 5 ml or less (mini size). I mostly use these polishes for holidays.
