December is een feestmaand met Sinterklaas, Kerst en Oudjaar. Elke manicure heeft deze maand wat nail art gehad. Het weer was deze maand erg grijs. Daardoor was het moeilijk om foto’s te maken van de holografische eigenschappen van de nagellakken. Maar onder onze keukenlampen zag ik vaak wel de sparkles. Alle nagellakken zijn gedragen met base coat en top coat, tenzij anders vermeld.

December is a month filled with holidays. First it’s Saint Nicholas, then Christmas and finally New Year’s Eve. Every manicure this month had some nail art. The weather was very overcast this month. That made it difficult to photograph holographic properties of nail polishes. But in my house I could still enjoy the sparkles under the kitchen lights. All nail polishes are worn with base coat and top coat, unless otherwise stated.

Dam nail polish Jingle Juice

De eerste manicure van de maand was voor Sinterklaas. De basis was drie laagjes Dam nail polish Jingle Juice. Jingle Juice is een paarse nagellak met een sterke rood-oranje-gele shimmer met holografische flakes. Als accent koos ik een afbeelding van een kado van stempelplaat Dashica Infinity Nails nummer 35. Ik kleurde de afbeelding met paarse en rode nagellak. In elk licht zag deze nagellak er anders uit, wat mij heel erg vermaakte.

The first manicure this month was for Saint Nicholas. As base I used three coats of Dam nail polish Jingle Juice. Jingle Juice has a purple base with a strong red-orange-yellow shimmer with holographic flakes. As accent I added an image of a present from stamping plate Dashica Infinity Nails no 35. I used reverse stamping to colour the image with purple and red nail polish. This polish was very shifty and looked different in every lighting. It was very entertaining.

Sally Hansen 063 Frosted Berries

Daarna droeg ik twee manicures die voorzichtig kerst gethematiseerd waren. De eerste manicure bestond uit Sally Hansen 063 Frosted Berries met als accent kleur essence Don’t be too shy to shine van een oude december collectie op duim en ringvinger. Ik draag Frosted Berries is twee laagjes en de essence lak in drie laagjes. Op de witte shimmer nagels stempelde ik een afbeelding van stempelplaat KADS Christmas 039. De stempellak die ik gebruikte was ietsje lichter dan de kleur van Frosted Berries.

The next two manicures were gently going towards Christmas. The first manicure was a combination of Sally Hansen 063 Frosted Berries and essence Don’t be too shy to shine from an old December collection. I’m wearing Frosted Berries in two coats and the essence polish in three coats on my thumb and ring finger nails. On the white shimmer nails I added an image of stamping plate KADS Christmas 039. The stamping polish I used was slightly lighter than the colour of Frosted Berries.

Starrily Diamond Rain

Daarna ging ik voor een winterse sfeer met Starrily Diamond Rain. Ik draag het in twee laagjes. Op de ringvinger bracht ik een afbeelding aan van KADS Christmas 044 met zilveren stempellak. Starrily Diamond Rain is een blauwe jelly nagellak met holografische flakes en komt van een Kelli Marissa collab. Het is mijn enige Starrily lak en ik heb hem al jaren. Dit was de eerste keer dat ik het droeg en het is een hele mooie nagellak.

The next manicure was more wintery themed. I wore Starrily Diamond Rain in two coats. On the ring finger nail I added an image from Christmas 044 with a silver stamping polish. Starrily Diamond Rain is a blue jelly polish with holographic flakes and is from a Kelli Marissa collaboration. It’s my only Starrily nail polish and I bought it some years ago. This was my first manicure with this polish and it’s very pretty.

OPI Red fingers & mistletoes

Vervolgens ging ik volledig over op de Kerst nail arts/ manicures. De eerste kerstmanicure was met OPI Red fingers & mistletoes. Ik draag deze rode nagellak met gouden flakes in twee laagjes met als accent een afbeelding van KADS Christmas 023.

Then I changed to full Christmas manicures. The first Christmas manicure was with OPI Red fingers & mistletoes. I’m wearing this red nail polish with golden flakes in two coats with an accent of an image from KADS stamping plate Christmas 023.

Neutral Christmas skittle

De tweede kerstmanicure was een neutrale skittle met Essence 11 Bang boom bling, Catrice C01 True Blossom en Rimmel London 019 Disco Diva. Ik draag de essence in drie laagjes, de Catrice in twee laagjes en de Rimmel in twee laagjes over een laagje van de essence. Op de duim draag ik ook twee laagjes van de Catrice. Als accent op de middelvinger bracht ik een afbeelding aan van BornPretty plaat BP-01 ingekleurd met Bang boom bling.

The second full Christmas manicure was a neutral skittle with Essence 11 Bang boom bling, Catrice C01 True Blossom and Rimmel London 019 Disco Diva. I’m wearing the essence in three coats, the Catrice polish in two coats en the Rimmel glitter topper in two coats over one coat of the essence. On the thumb I also wore two coats of the Catrice nail polish. As accent I added an image from BornPretty stamping plate BP-01 that I coloured with Bang boom bling.

Dam nail polish Evergreen

Bij de derde kerstmanicure was het de eerste en de enige keer deze maand dat ik een foto in de zon kon maken. Ik draag hier twee laagjes van Dam nail polish Evergreen met een glitter smoothing top coat en een reguliere top coat. Evergreen is een groene nagellak met reflective glitter en holografische glitter. Als accent stempelde ik een gelaagde afbeelding in twee kleuren goud. De uitlijning van de kerstklok stempelde ik met witgoud en de details met een gouden stempellak. De afbeelding komt van stempelplaat KADS Christmas 036.

When I had just painted the third Christmas manicure it was the first and only time this month that I could use the sun when taking the picture. I’m wearing two coats of Dam nail polish Evergreen with a glitter smoothing coat and a regular top coat. Evergreen is green nail polish with reflective glitter and holographic glitter. As accent I stamped a layered image in two colours of gold. The base of the Christmas clock I stamped in white gold and the details of the clock in a golden stamping polish. The image is from stamping plate KADS Christmas 036.

Essie Scarlett o’Hara

En dan ben ik aangekomen bij mijn echte kerstmanicure. Ik heb combinaties gemaakt met meerdere nagellakken. Op mijn duim droeg ik een laagje van OPI 50 years of style, een laagje OPI A mirror escape en een laagje DA nagellak 102 Caught Red Handed. Op mijn wijsvinger, middelvinger en pink draag ik twee laagjes Essie Scarlett o’Hara. Op mijn ringvinger draag ik een laagje van OPI 50 years of style met een laagje OPI A mirror escape. Daarover draag ik een stempel van KADS stempelplaat Christmas 052 met een rode stempellak. Van dezelfde stempelplaat plaatste ik een andere afbeelding met gouden stempellak op de middelvinger. Het was een combinatie van meerdere nagellakken en het effect was precies wat ik hoopte. Ik was erg blij met deze manicure.

And now we have arrived with my real Christmas Day manicure. I made a combination with multiple nail polishes. On my thumb nail I wore a combination of one layer of OPI 50 years of style, one layer of OPI A mirror escape and one layer of DA nagellak 102 Caught Red Handed. On my pointer finger nail, middle finger nail and pinky nail I wore two coats of Essie Scarlett o’Hara. On my ring finger nail I wore one layer of OPI 50 years of style and one layer of OPI A mirror escape. On top I added an image from KADS stamping plate Christmas 052 with a red stamping polish. Form this same stamping plate I added another image with golden stamping polish on the middle finger nail. It was a combination of many different things, but it turned out as I had hoped. I was very happy with this manicure.

Rogue Enter the grid with Sally Hansen Whisk You a Merry Xmas

Tussen Kerst en Oud en Nieuw droeg ik deze winterse manicure met Rogue Enter the grid en Sally Hansen Whisk You a Merry Xmas. Op mijn duim, wijsvinger en pink draag ik drie laagjes van de Rogue nagellak en op mijn middelvinger en ringvinger draag ik drie laagjes van Whisk You a Merry Xmas. Op deze nagels draag ik afbeeldingen van BornPretty stempelplaat Christmas S003. Op de andere hand had ik weer andere afbeeldingen van deze stempelplaat geplaatst. Het was een speelse manicure en ik was er erg blij mee.

Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve I wore this wintery themed manicure with Rogue Enter the grid and Sally Hansen Whisk You a Merry Xmas. On my thumb nail, pointer finger nail and pinky nail I’m wearing the Rogue in three coats. On my middle finger nail and middle finger nail I’m wearing three coats of Whisk You a Merry Xmas and on top I added images from BornPretty stamping plate Christmas S003. On the other hand I added other images from this stamping plate. It was a playful manicure and it made me very happy.

Dam nail polish Reading By The Fire

Tot slot was het tijd voor mijn Oudjaar manicure. Ik droeg als basis twee laagjes van Dam nail polish Reading by the fire. Deze nagellak heeft een grijze basiskleur met multichrome shimmer (paars-blauw-roze-oranje) en reflective glitter. Ik draag het met een glitter smoothing top coat en daarover mijn reguliere top coat. Op mijn duim en ring vinger plaatste ik afbeeldingen van KADS stempelplaat Festival 003 met roze stempellak. Dit was mijn laatste nagellak van de 2023 advent kalender van Dam. Het is mij gelukt om verspreid over het jaar alle kleuren van de kalender te dragen. Dit jaar heb ik de advent kalender anders gedaan. Alle nagellakken aangekocht gedurende de laatste paar maanden van het jaar heb ik apart gehouden en deze zijn door Dochter ingepakt tot advent kalender. De volgorde was daarmee toch een verassing, maar de inhoud bestond wel geheel uit kleuren die ik op mijn verlanglijstje had staan. Het was een heel geslaagde adventskalender!

Finally it was time for my New Year’s Eve manicure. I wore two coats of Dam nail polish Reading by the fire. This nail polish has a grey base with multichrome shimmer (purple-blue-pink-orange) and reflective glitter. I’m wearing it with a glitter smoothing top coat and my regular top coat. On my thumb nail and my ring finger nail I placed images from KADS stamping plate Festival 003 with pink stamping polish. This was my last polish that I hadn’t worn yet from my 2023 Advent calendar from Dam nail polish. I managed to wear all 12 polishes in this year. This year we did the advent experience differently. All polishes bought by me after the summer were set apart and Daughter packed them into an advent calendar. The order of the polishes was a surprise for me, but all the polishes were colours from my wish list. It was a very good advent calendar!
